I would give it a go if you feel happy to do so. I have tried not because Sophie is so tiny but because she started waking up more in the night. Had one attempt on Sunday and again yesterday but both times 7 hours later she was screaming and writhing in pain. Will be trying again on Sunday as one day she will hopefully be ready for some food.

Hello girls

Sunita123 here, have changed my name but don't feel very festive ATM.
A lot has happened since I last posted.
(TMI ALERT!!!!)
Got a letter from my doc's for a routine smear test. Booked one the same day as Kavya had her 3mth jabs. Went along Jabs went fine. at the smaer test was told by the nurse that I have Cervical Polyps, and that I should get them checked by a Doctor. So I booked in to see the doctor begining of this week. She confirmed that I do indeed have Cervical Polyps and should get them removed. Have posted on MN, and have had a few positive responses, still feel apprehensive and that I should talk to my mum about it. But don't want to tell her over the phone. I can't drive and am reliant on DH taking me which means that we all end up going. Any way have not had appointment through. So will wait for that to come through first.

(TMI ALERT OVER!!!)

All else is well with us all.
Kavya has just woken up so have to go now.
Bye

Suni

thanx frosty.

sometimes you just dont know what to do for the best. both my girls were being weaned by this age and they were fine. had it not been for the new guidelines i probably would have done it already.

prettymum · 09/11/2006 16:22

oh my god!! i hate going to the doctors!!! had to wait two hours to get seen!! there was a new health visitor and nurse and they are so slow!! never had to wait that long before!!

junior weighs 14lbs and 11 ozs at 16 wks.

festiveatforty- emma is sooo gorgeous!! she looks so adorable and cuddly!!

p- i would try weaning to see if it helps.

pinktinselanddollymixtures · 09/11/2006 16:23

Sunita- nice to hear from you!
You have just reminded me that i was called for a smear a couple of months ago, and i still havent gone. been putting it off, i hate them.

never had an experience with cp so cant help you with that. but try not to fret about it, big hugs!

FestiveAtForty · 09/11/2006 17:06

Pinkdolly I posted on another thread re Emma's weight gain and fussy bf and was recommended the following links:

weightgain

increase supply

Feeding more frequently does seem to be making a difference to Emma but there may be other things you can do.

Sunita - sorry to hear you've had such a worrying time - hopefully they can put your mind at rest soon. xx

FestiveAtForty · 09/11/2006 17:26

Pinkdolly just realised the links are mainly about bf, don't know whether you are or not so apologies if it's irrelevant!

pinktinselanddollymixtures · 09/11/2006 17:29

festive- thanx for that. yes i am breastfeeding and they are a big help. Have read them and it sounds like she is ok. Very active and perky and plenty of wet/dirty nappies. Just a bit slow at putting on the weight. mind u, dh seems to have a fast metabolism, perhaps it has rubbed off on her.

prettymum · 09/11/2006 17:30

have you guys read the hamster thread pmsl!!

FrostytheSnowman · 09/11/2006 17:37

worry-sorry to hear you have Cervical Polyps. I have not come across this either so can't offer any advice. Take care.

pinktinsel-I am being put off weaning because of the new guidelines-silly really because DD1 was weaned at 4 months and was fine but she was alot bigger and gulped it down. Ho hum-what to do, what to do?

Got an enormously painful right boob so going to stick the expressor on it. Have been combing it all afternoon.

FrostytheSnowman · 09/11/2006 18:14

Aaaaaarrrrgggghhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!-bloody expressor-just can't get anything out as usual. &

pinktinselanddollymixtures · 09/11/2006 18:20

frosty- i gave up on trying to express weeks ago. i think its a learned skill and i have not got the time nor patience to learn!

used to drive me mental, 1 oz after 20 mins-argggh!

FestiveAtForty · 09/11/2006 19:23

Frosty have you tried expressing with DD on other boob? It's the only way I can get a let down. Requires a bit of advance planning and dexterity but is possible!

IamBlossom · 09/11/2006 19:36

Just ordered Toby this for chrimble, apparently they are fab. They have spelt it wrong here though, it's called a Winkle...

Sunita, sounds horrid, hope it's all ok for you.

KZ, can't really help on the Rosh and tea problem as Toby asleep by 6.30pm, plus DH cooks......hurray!

Moustache (geddit?) Eastenders is on.

MaeWestYeMerryGentlemen · 09/11/2006 19:47

I'm crap at expressing with a pump, so decided to try by hand and have become fairly proficient. I don't get huge amounts out - about 1 or 2 a time, but am building up a little freezer store. I find what works for me is to settle DS down after his first breakfast and go and have a shower, then hand express, switching boobs frequently, seems to get the flow going. Having said this, DS hasn't had a bottle since he was 6 wks old so don't even know whether he'll get to drink it - may get DH to have a go at the weekend.

Sunita - how worrying for you, not had experience of this myself, hope you get good news soon.

FrostytheSnowman · 09/11/2006 20:01

I only have a 'let down' about twice a week. Tried doing it by hand but boob is so swollen and solid it hurt. I'll just keep sticking Sophie on-she keeps messing about though.

jomglebells · 09/11/2006 20:12

Hi ladies. I was also concerned about Amelias feeding as she dropped from the 50% to 25% line about six weeks ago. I was worried about my supply but have since realised that its fine shes just gotten much fussier and really doesn't always seem that interested in any milk. She will sometimes go through the daytime on about 3 feeds of 5 mins (a future of eating disorders for her?). She has however kept on the 25% line and is continually gaining weight. HV said thats fine and to be guided by her shes obviously getting enough and is getting very efficient at getting it. I have relaxed about it now but it was very distressing when it first happened as it felt like she was rejecting me!

I don't think she's ready for solids yet (16 weeks) and will probably wait until closer to the six month mark.

I also try and make my evening meal earlier in the day usually around 3ish (whenever Amelias asleep - DS either 'helps' me or I try to get him into something else before hand) and just reheat later as it makes things much easier. Obv. depends on what you're having sometimes I'll just do as much prep as possible like chopping everything up.

Thanks for the links Festering- very interesting

Wallace · 09/11/2006 20:45

Hope you're okay sunita xxx

bloss - I like the look of the winkle

Seems like it must be normal for a baby's weight to level off about this age. Leo has dropped from the 98th percentile to between the 75th nd 91st, and nobody seems concerned. Looking at his red book he has only put on 1 pound in the last month, whereas in hte early days he was putting on over a pound a week!

Off to check out the hamster thread...?!?

just gonna drag myself back to tidying up!!

SleepInHeavenlyPeace · 09/11/2006 23:01

Thank you for the name suggestion! I like it!

Pretty, what a cutie he is!

Sunita, hope you are OK?

Do you think the hamster thing is for real? Surely it would take more than an hour of boiling for the poor thing to break up into pieces?

Bed time! Night all

Have been quite busy and abroad so not been on mumsnet for weeks!!! Before I at least manage to read your posts.
DD2 is doing quite well, but doesn't seem to smile that much (except at night time!!).
Have no idea how much she weighes, last checked at 6 weeks old. Not planning to start weaning either yet. There is a lot of allergies in our family (I have hayfever) so it is supposed to be better to wait weaning til they are 6 months old(suits me well, luckely no problems with bf, so I just plug her in and do my usual stuff ).

Better start organiseing ds birthday party now...
