mae, I could see them! Dom is gorgeous!!!

Sleeping a bit better now, DS only woke once last night, and Kayley twice, but she makes hardly any noise, and once I've fed her I can just lay her back in her cot and she'll drift off herself, long after I'm snoring myself! She's great.

We're off to Ireland this weekend, to get the babies christened, complete with in-laws in tow, so I'm dreading it really, even though it'll be lovely to see my family (briefly). I probably won't see my babies much, they'll be busy being passed round all the relatives. They both still have snuffley noses and little coughs, so I hope they're up for it.

KZ at that nurse. Poor Roshi, I hope she's ok now.
Pink, poor Jaz, I hope she gets better soon.

Am I a bad mummy? I haven't taken Kayley to the clinic yet at all since she was born. I have no idea what she weighs, somewhere between 9lb and 20lb according to the nappies I get! She's grand though, apart from the snuffley nose.

Best go now, think she needs a cuddle from coffee breath here.

v.bad about blind nurse kz! bet you felt like slapping her

IamBlossom · 25/10/2006 15:42

Pink I am broody too! Ridiculous but felt the same when DS1 was this age. talked DH into it last night too under the influence of red wine, but I think he might have changed his mind today......

IamBlossom · 25/10/2006 18:50

I think that might be a personal best- both boys bathed and asleep in bed by 6.19.........

Wallace · 25/10/2006 20:49

mae - dom is gorgeous, he looks like he is chickling away in that photo

usandbump - I'm surprised you have AF with Zack feeding that much, poor you. Hopefully your supply will soon increase with all this feeding.

LOL Annie29 at Kayley being somewhere between 9 and 20lb I never take Leo to the clinic either - HV comes to toddler group once a month to do a clinic!

koshka - hope you are feel better soon xxx Jake sounds like he is doing well - it is amazing when they weigh a whole stone!

Well done Bloss - wish I could get the kids down by that time! Sounds like you are really enjoying your 2 boys

pinkdolly - glad Jasmine's excema isimproving. I am not broody at all (thank god!) I do feel a bit sad I will never have another baby (Leo is our third and Last), but I can live with that.

HumphreysCoroner · 25/10/2006 21:05

Evening ladies

What dreadful weather and we all had our hair done today-got wet so DH not noticed Rant coming up.......took 30 mins to pull out of my car park space in the multistorey then another 30 mins to get out of the car park due to bad traffic light management. Hence v. late going to Tescos and had to wait in there. Even the DIY tills were busy! Have just this minute finished tea.

pinkdolly-Sophie was 11 lb 6 oz at 16 weeks (last Tuesday) and now down to just above the 2nd percentile.

Am also a touch broody

GrimAdventuresOfJane · 25/10/2006 21:56

i had my haircut today aswell but not satisfied!! i have thick hair which gfows back within a month and she didnt thin it out properly and didnt straighten it nicely!

gonna go and put my little rascal to sleep now so goodnight all

maewickedwitchofthewest · 26/10/2006 09:17

Morning all - apologies to all those having sleep probs, but just have to tell someone - he slept through! Went down at 7pm and didn't rouse until just before 6am, fed nappy changed and back to bed by 7ish then slept until 8.30 allowing me to get showered, express some milk, eat, load the dishwasher, put out the washing and feel smug . Downside was huge lumpy boobs when I woke up (ouch) and the fact that I nearly shot the poor boy across the room when he did feed (lol). Of course, the only way he will go so long at night is if he feeds roughly every 2 hrs or so during the day, but heyho! I'm just going to enjoy this until the next growth spurt

and thank you for all your nice comments about the boy, he does photograph well. I'm sure he grins everytime he sees the camera now.

Wallace I really am - enjoying them that is. DH has week off which was lovely at first but have banished him fishing today cos he was getting under my feet and RUINING my routine!

KZ, I didn't come down with a thing during pregnancy, but then I rarely get colds or anything like that, in fact am rarely ill. Eat enough fruit and veg to feed a small principality however so maybe that's it....

have just prepped the house for a play date with two of DS1's friends this afternoon. usually have a rule of no toys in the living room as the boys have the entire conservatory dedicated to their toys and games etc, but it is too stressful to enforce when friends are over so have capitulated and cleared the coffee table to one side and strategically placed bean bags in front of the telly in case they want to watch a DVD or summat. It's little things like this that i think will make being a SAHM easier I think, no point sweating the small stuff.

Toby sleeping through, I dream feed him at 10.30 when i go to bed and he takes a full 9 ounces and goes through to 7am. When are you supposed to cut out the dream feed?

Red wine dinner was lovely thanks KZ, and you are right, it is dangerous and managed to convince DH another baby was a good idea! he says I cheated however, as I stopped after 4 or so glasses (my absolute limit these days or I'd be in hospital!!) and he carried on to the bottom of the second bottle. i am all too aware of what looking after children is like on a hangover and will do what I can to prevent it, not fun......

Why is it that if I sit and bounce Toby in his chair he won't sleep but if I drag it over to the table and bounce it with my foot whilst on Mumsnet he goes of like a shot??? Weird....

Ciao!

I don't do this dream feed. With DD1 I only started giving a bottle at 11pm when she had been weaned and was waking up at 4am so put a bottle in her mouth and she then didn't wake until 7am ish. She must have been 5 months plus. Can't remember when I stopped-I just didn't do it one night to see what happened and she slept through and has done ever since. Don't know how you would dream feed while BF. Different shoving a nipple in as opposed to a teat

Sophie worn 0-3 clothes for the first time today so she must have had a growth spurt as 2 weeks ago they buried her.

Wine-yummy but only in small doses. When DD1 was born I went to DH's works Christmas Dinner and was soooo nervous as it was my first jaunt out since she was born in the July that I couldn't eat so drank to calm myself. Had the hangover from hell the next day-never again-especially not with 2 cherubs!

DD1 has just woken Sophie up by taking her shoes off-gggrrrhhhh. Thought I was in for a few more minutes peace. Better go.

Bye for now and hugs to all.

I had a canula inserted 7 times without local aneshetic_(sp) in my hand when I had the early contractions, they told me a local would hurt just as much but after 6 attempts I was ready to strangle the doctor, I still have the canual scars!

DS was a nightmare today, he just hates his buggy. He was ok when he was awake but once he got tired he just wouldnt drop to sleep so I had to take him out cuddle him and put him back when he was sleeping but then when I stopped pushing the buggy he woke up again screaming. He was the same in asda on Tuesday, he just does not like falling asleep alone. Please tell me hes not the only one like it????

I think I may try dream feeding as all the babies sleeping through are being dream fed. Ds last night fed at 8.30, 2 and 5.30 and settled ok after both feeds. Also wondering if I can just bf off the one boob as its too painful from the other one, I wonder if they would look lopsided

IamBlossom · 26/10/2006 19:03

My hubby wants a Pike book for Christmas that costs £131!!

Operation Bedtime complete by 6.31. Two wees in trousers today though. DS1, not me. I think it's a combination of me getting complacent and not making him sit on it as often, and him getting lazy. He still asks me most of the time though when he needs to go, so hopefully not total regression...

No HC, BF dream feed didn't work with me either.

Got a horrible feeling, by my calculations I'm supposed to be going back to work at the beginning of December...better crack on and tell them I'm not then. Who is going back to work and who ain't of you lot?

Evening all!
Hope you & your LO's are all well!
Ive had SUCH an eventful day I'm going to have a long rambling/ranty post!
Fed Evie today with her first shop bought puree as we were running late with everything! It was an organix one so supposed to be nothing but fruit and shes had all the fruit in in but not mixed together! within 5 minutes of finishing it she came out in this hideous rash over her face rushed to the GP's who was fab and it going to investigate with the manufacturer! Also refer to dietician if she has any more reactions, but she was fine within an hour.....me panicking as always maybe its because my mum had flu wneh carring my [lol]
BUT on a better note Evie FINALLY rolled over on her own today.....again, and again and again! It was BRILLIANT!!! You've never seen to grown adults so excited over something so small!!! She also had the best giggling fit ever when playing peepo it was sooooo funny and very very cute!

Anyhow better go someones just started howling like a banshee!

KA it's a book on how to catch Pike. I am a fishing widow.

Re getting tempted back - I earnt two thirds of that (if we are being candid here) and did manage to save a chunk, that is the only reason I can stay at home. i have what my DH calls a "sneaky" account, or my "running away with another man" acount and it will be interesting to see how long it lasts. Having been the major breadwinner it will be hard not to be anymore....

xx

IamBlossom · 26/10/2006 20:05

KZ, not KA.......

IamBlossom · 26/10/2006 20:05

glad Evie is ok Jane

GrimAdventuresOfJane · 26/10/2006 20:31

Bloss: That much........for a book about fishing??!!?!

agalch · 26/10/2006 21:39

Evening ladies

Dd2 down at 8pm tonight and dd1 still up
Can't seem to get her into a routine at all.if she sleeps after midday she won't go down at night till much later.

Re work,i will be back to work in January which i am dreading.Wish i could afford not to work at all but would need to win the lottery for that.
I am a registered childminder so hope i get nice kids and parents, helps to get me through the day

Dp says if we really scrimp and save i could have a year or two off but i like to earn money and contribute so back to wiping more snotty noss and bums after the New Year.

I will be off to bed when ds1's gf has left at 10pm.His rooms next to mine so too much chatting music etc so no point trying to go to bed when she's here.

HC re dreamfeed,i now lift Eilidh and give her a cuddle and she latches on without opening her eyes, quick burp and down again.Took a few tries to get her opening her mouth to feed but works a treat. She doesn't sleep past 5.30am but at least im getting some sleep lol.

Nite all xx
