Would love to see a photo of all of them agalch

kayzed - don't think babies can be too heavy, all that lovely chubbiness

We had a good night too 9pm to 8 am - even better than his usual 8 or 9 hours (insert boasting emoticon here!) My HV said to me not to tell other mums how well he sleeps otherwise everyone will hate me! I'm sure you lot are nicer than that, LOL.

Wallace · 19/10/2006 09:14

Would love a cleaner! Someone to come in maybe once a week and clean the bathroom, the kitchen, and wash all the floors. Heaven!

SleepIsForTheDead · 19/10/2006 09:25

No, Wallace, she was right, I hate you!
not really... that is great!

DS sleep is improving.... 8:30 to 3am, up feeding for an hour (!!) and then down to 7, up for 30mins and down again, still sleeping. Think I will try the dream feed thing again, it wasn't working before but might this time..

A cleaner is a fab idea, but with only 1 baby I think it is a luxury but you. Agalch, it sounds like a neccessity!

Morning ladies

It was one year ago today that I got my BFP-doesn't time fly?

Had a day from hell with DD1 again yesterday and some women in the ladies toilet were saying 'oh bless her' as she was sobbing. Grrrrhhhh-my daughter and they didn't know the full story.

agalch-would lurve a cleaner. You soooooo deserve one.

mystic-really good weaning advice. I bought some Heinz breakfast packets yesterday then Sophie slept through until 6-30am. I don't think she is ready as she doesn't take any notice of what we are eating and can't really support herself sat up. I know what you mean about not jumping straight out of bed when they witter. Have fallen back asleep a few times

kayzed-Sophie only rolls (either way) but only when she is on her tummy. I'm sure the lovey Rosh is well in proportion-no worries there.

DD1 at nursery and I am going to try and keep my cool this afternoon. I think my mum was worried about leaving me with her yesterday. DD1 asked me to put her to bed again so she can't hate me too much.

Got to go as Sophie peckish.

Bye for now and have a good day. Nice and wet.

xxx

mysticpeaks · 19/10/2006 11:16

HC - hope you were talking about the weather!!!
All - made a bit of a boo boo on the weaning thing its 2 x birth weight not 3 x (otherwise they wouldn't be on solids til they were about 3yrs old - oops!!
Wallace - HV was quite right - i hate you too!! (not really but I am jealous beyond belief).
Nights here are troublesome to say the least. Too much teething/blocked noses/hunger going on (and that's just dh!!!) Me and DH had a bit of a barney last night due to all the general tiredness and feeling unwell. Men eh. He's the ONLY person in our house that does any work - obviously. He hasn't even fed or dressed dd1 in weeks. He's stressed and getting migraines so I offer to drive to the 24 hr chemist to get some more migraleve and I end up getting told to stop getting at him!! It all degenerated from here. Made up this morning, but its not nice to go to sleep in a bad mood.
Kosh - Good to hear from you, hope things get better. You know where we are if you need ANYTHING. xxx
Algach - ditto. Give ds2 a hug from us all (in fact give the whole tribe a big group cuddle - you all deserve it).
Have a good day girls.

KoshkaTheFIENDLYGhost · 19/10/2006 12:38

hey everyone

im ok. Jake is fine he now sleeps on his side - i think he doesnt know how to roll back! He mews until i flip him back!

hes been weighed tomorrow, so ill see how much he weighs! i bet it will be a lot

IamBlossom · 19/10/2006 12:48

well I'm ashamed (sort of) to say that I have a cleaner and have had one for 4 years. It's my SIL and she needs the cash so can't get rid even if I wanted to which I certainly don't. So she does all the hoovering, bathrooms, dusting, floors, changes the beds, blitzs the kitchen it is marvellous. I still push the hoover around pretty much daily if it needs it, but i am quite finicky so if I didn't have her I'd never have time to do anything! Do feel mildly indulgent this week however, as had my car valeted in our driveway yesterday, and packed all my ironing off to be done too.... DH said I'd pay for someone to wipe my arse if I could.... sweet boy....

Just back from play group DS1 asleep upstairs and Toby kicking in swing chair. Didn't finish his bottle at 7pm last night so woke up at 1.30 for boob juice, but other than that slep thru. DS1 fell out of bed last night bless his heart, and gave himself a fright. Lucky I hadn't downed two bottles of red like DH and could hear his screams, sniff! And on a school night too, the piss head.

So proud of DS1, no accidents at nursery yesterday, no accidents at playgroup this morning. Was very lucky to catch his poo this morning (literally - sorry of TMI) as happened to be feeding Toby downstairs when I am usually in the shower, but managed to avoid an accident there as well... phew. Still have to watch him like a hawk and offer potty every twenty minutes or so, but it is only week 2 and he is doing so well. Would only admit this to you lot but do feel a bit smug - he is the only one of our friends to be potty trained at his age, and everyone who sees him go on the potty when we are out and about are amazed he is doen already and only just two. I can see in their faces what I woul dbe thinking if it was the other way round - "Shit, H is potty trained and mine boy is older and not, god I'd better get on with it". Remind my of my unbearable smugness when Ds1 wildly regresses cos he's got bored......

Algach your kids sound lovely. Let's see a pic....?

Got to lose 10 pounds by Chrimble. Feel ok in myself, and have bought some bits to wear until I can get into all my old clothes, but I have a huge pile of lovely things in my wardrobe that I can't get on that whisper to me every time I open the door "Hi there, we look great on you and we go with that, that and that, I bet you wish you could wear me today, HAR HAR HAR" etc. i WILL wear you again, I swear......

Right, going to chill in front of Loose Women for 15 minutes before stage two of the day begins...

Hi all
Sorry haven't posted for a little while, this is just a quick catch up.

Agalch - that company's closedown has been on the local news down here, they were playing the curt answer machine message that people are being given when they call for news, it's dreadful [mad] . Hope you manage to get something out of them.

Mystic, glad the treatment's going well, that must be a huge relief Hope all the colds clear up soon.

Usandbump - only thing that occurred to me which possibly might make a difference re sleeping is room temperature / draughts (from prevailing winds maybe?). What Emma wears to bed varies a bit, usually a sleepsuit and light grobag, covered by a sheet and cotton blanket. On cooler nights I sometimes add a light cardy and mitts. Bit anecdotal, but she seems to sleep more soundly when she's wrapped up a bit more cosily. But I guess you also risk the opposite, where they wake up cos they're hot! Just a thought anyway.

Think Emma might have reflux - she's fussing a lot when feeding, arching her back and tugging. Used to be only occasional, now it's nearly every day and she does sometimes just screech with pain. Odd as this has only really been a problem over the last couple of weeks, you'd have thought it would have happened before now.

I don't think she's eating as much as she did either, and she's not very heavy, weighed her on our (admittedly crap) bathroom scales and she seems to be about 12 pounds at 14.5 weeks. She's still in 0-3 month clothes. Still has podgy little cheeks though, so not too skinny! I'll take her to the baby clinic tomorrow to get her weighed properly.

Know what you mean about the clothes Bloss, I'm still only fitting into 'fat trousers' - tricky to know what to wear between their washes! I haven't taken 'normal trousers' out of storage yet as I don't WANT them looking at me when I open the wardrobe

kbaby - if you're still having Wanadoo/Orange problems, if you get a chance (from someone else's computer of course ) check out www.orangeproblems.co.uk - it's quite enlightening!

HC - congrats on BFP anniversary. Mine's 2 Nov. We must all be just past the conception anniversaries as well

GrimAdventuresOfJane · 19/10/2006 15:36

Hi all

Afternoon all

Kbaby- We tried the closer to nature teats in fact we have spent a fortune trying different teats including the breast shaped bottle but with no luck. I think he is going to be very stubborn, I have no idea where he gets that from......
Although we haven't tried a spout so I will get one at the weekend and strip off dp
Thank you for your help

Agalch- Go for it re: cleaner, you definitely deserve it, my house is currently a tip and I only have the one little pickle

HC- {{{hugs}}} Of course your DD1 doesn't hate you, this is just a phase and it WILL pass. In the meantime stay strong and take all help offered and then ask for more

Mystic- Hope you and your DH have a better night x

Bloss- I'm sick of wearing the same old clothes but won't let myself buy anything until I hit my target weight. I'm being very good so far but wet days like today test me, I could eat and eat and eat.....

Forty- You may be right, Zack has always been quite a hot baby so have only added one thin layer but I suppose the weather has turned quite a bit now. I will try another layer tonight, we get it drummed into us about not letting them get too hot that may be I have gone too far the other way
PS Aren't Emma and Zack 13.5 weeks or have I lost a week somewhere?! Zack weighs just under 12lb so about the same as Emma.

Jane- 13 hours?!!
Wallace- of you too!

Wallace · 19/10/2006 17:58

LOL at everyone hating me Never mind, Leo is such a good baby he will probably be the toddler from hell, and you will all be able to laugh at me

Never heard the 2 x birthweight for weaning before. Ds1 was 7 weeks when he doubled his, but dd was 9 months!

FesteringAtForty · 19/10/2006 18:07

usandbump you're right - they are 13.5 not 14.5 weeks! I'm getting ahead of myself!

Wallace · 19/10/2006 19:37

Another photo of my handsome boy. He was chatting away when I took this one. And, yes, he is in a dirty washing baket

The butter must be what your body needs to make all that milk

Thanks for admiring Leo (where is the bursting with pride emoticon!) Have you posted any photos of Roisin recently because I would love to have a look (I missed a lot when my PC wasn't working)

She is so gorgeous! Those are really beautiful photos - the kind you could get enlarged and framed.

Yes dh really did water EBM down with tap water (I have been wondering if that has anything to do with Leo's change in bowel habits!) I had gone to Tesco and only left a small feed in the fridge (there was more in the feezer) and when I returned I asked dh if there had been enough. He replied that there was plenty because he watered it down. I went "Aaaargh! You're not supposed to do that!" Then I remembered I am trying very hard not to criticise dh on childcare issues (just because he does it differently doesn't mean it is wrong, etc) so I followed up with "I'm sure it wouldn't do any harm, as long as you used boiled water" The silence after that told me everything I needed to know! I'm sure he won't be doing it again - even with boiled water!

Wallace · 19/10/2006 22:29

I love them when they are milk drunk - I didn't even notice her birth mark. Must be awful when it bleeds - it doesn't hurt her, does it?

newmum36 · 20/10/2006 08:49

Hi there...
Hope you don't all mind me cutting in on this July babies thread. I have a 15 week old Jo..
He's formula fed (from 4 weeks) and currently weights 13lbs 1oz. Naturally I think he's gorgeous but of course I'm biased.

He 's currently going through a funny feeding phase. We might get him to take 4 max 5oz of his first bottle of the day (7oz offered) - you'd think he'd be starving but no he just sucks away and then completely gives up. He is then offered 6 - 7oz each feed but in the last couple of days this refusal to take more goes on for most of his feeds. I feed him roughly 7 - 7.15/11/2.30/6 and then I do a 10.15 feed. Other basic info ....for the majority of the week, he sleeps from the late feed through to 7am. If he's hungry or windy, I get a middle of the night wake up call, but a bit of gripe water/tummy massage (or food if hungry) seems to get him off again...so I think I may have been lucky as he's been doing this from 7 weeks or so (but I think this is more likely with formula ?? May be completely wrong about that ! ).

He naps during the day from 9 for 45 mins, lunchtime (out and about and anywhere from an hour to two hours) and late afternoon for 30 - 45 mins...I put him down to bed around 6.30pm.

He had a dummy to start with but has in the last week found his thumb which is incredibly cute and has really helped him settling at night. First 9 - 10 weeks he was a nightmare to settle off to sleep and every day felt like an uphill struggle. In the last week, something has clicked for him (maybe the thumb!!) and he has been brilliant.

I've had a chesty cough for the last week so I wonder whether he might be coming down with something and that's why he's not feeding so well at the moment. May also be a phase ! Just when one thing goes right, another thing seems to go astray.
Anyway, that's me....
Anyone else with the feeding issue, let me know - but so far this doesn't seem to affect his night sleep so he must be getting enough during the waking hours? Would that seem right ?

usandbump · 20/10/2006 10:28

Morning all

Hello newmum36 and welcome
I'm very of your nights, I think you and Wallace should be banned from discussing sleep
Totally with you on cracking one thing and another changing or going wrong!
It sounds like your DS is just taking what he needs during his feeds, I wouldn't worry unless they reduce dramatically.

KZ- for Roisin and it must be very hard for you even though you know it's for her own good.

Wallace- I'm the same with my DP, I often have to bite my tongue! But then I am a bit of a control freak

Forty- Emma's feeding must be difficult for you, is she feeding faster than she was? Zack now feeds very quickly at a couple of his feeds, may be she is giving herself a tummy ache or bad wind? Just a thought but have you tried gripe water?

Well an extra layer on Zack last night made no difference and I was oh so hopeful!! Went down at 9.30 and awake 11.30-12.00, 2.30-3.00, 5.00-5.25. Dp's alarm then woke me at 6.30 and then he woke me at 7 to say goodbye and Zack woke at 8.
I'm considering asking dp to sleep in the spare room, after putting Zack down after a feed it then takes me longer to get to sleep than it should because of his snoring, if Zack goes 2 hours between feeds I'm actually getting less than an hour and a half. Then of course his alarm wakes me. You never know his snoring may also be waking Zack!
I'm wary though because I hardly see him as it is because I have to go to bed with Zack, sleeping seperately too just doesn't seem right.

The sun is shining here after torrential rain much of the night, hope it lasts long enough for me to get out for a walk or two

kbaby · 20/10/2006 10:49

IamBlossom - i too was gloating about dd's potty training until she did 2 big wees in playgroup on the floor and then i could feel them all secretly thinking 'ha ha'
FesteringAtForty- i feel guilty now all ds wears to bed in vest, sleepsuit, 1 sheet 1 blanket. maybe the poor thing is too cold. im always paranoid about overheating him.
Wallace- pmsl at your dh, youve cheered me up today.
hello newmum- sorry were bf so cant help on the feeding front.

grghh all those sleeping babies. our night went.
fed 8.30pm then down to sleep
woke 2am for feed
woke 3am
woke 5am for feed and wouldnt settle again so he came into our bed. he has the dummy but spits it out most of the time and prefers his hands but he just talks to them with them in his mouth and doesnt suck them to sleep so we have a nightly struggle of me trying to give the dummy so hell sleep and him pulling it out to talk to his hands. im still putting the muslin by his face to convince him hes being held which sometimes works but not always.
2 questions-
whats everyones lo sleeping like in the day
ds is in a 3 hr cycle, feeding, awake for 1.5 hrs then asleep for 45 mins.
and anyone elses lo hate the pram, ds cries after 30 mins of being in it and wont stop until i pick him out.

usandbump · 20/10/2006 10:57

kbaby- I dread the nights, keep waiting for him to settle down...... one day.
Our days are similar to yours, Zack has just started to go a bit longer between feeds (2-3 hrs) and 2 hours between naps. Thankfully Zack sleeps when I take him out in the pram. I don't know what I would do otherwise coz he won't go off in my arms.
