Wallace · 17/10/2006 20:05

agalch, that's awful for you, i echo bloss' sentiments.

Lovely photos prettymum. Dd's eyes have always been brown, but ds1's always blue. Leo's are a browny dark bluey color, but going to be brown i think

Wallace · 17/10/2006 20:11

Meant to say that Leo is still in mostly 0-3 month clothes apart from vests and baby gros - despite being 15lb 7 at 10 weeks, and I think he is tall too. /
He has stopped growing at the same amazing rate now he mostly doesn't feed in the night, and also for about the last 10 days he has been pooing heaps of very runny poo - up to ten times a day, his bottom was getting quite sore. He used to be a very regular guy - one very large lumpyish poo every few days. I can't think why the change - any ideas? could it be teething?

typing left handed btw!

Strange kayzed - is Roshi getting any teeth? The HV said teething can change the PH of saliva, so it can give them diarrhea (or however you spell it?), but never know if the HV knows anything really I think Leo has a toothe coming through - sure I felt something sharp in his gum.

maewickedwitchofthewest · 17/10/2006 20:56

Hi all, haven;t posted for a while but have been reading all your messages. Glad you're feeling better about things Usandbump. My mum is staying for a few days with my brother (the one who went missing) which is lovely. She cooked tea tonight and everything . Dom was being cute in the bouncy chair earlier for my bro and grinning his head off.

Dom is in mostly 3-6 months clothes at 11 wks and at last weigh-in was 13lb 1oz. He's still fairly slim but chunky. Will see about posting another photo. He's been waking to feed more often for the past couple of nights, suspect a growth spurt. Went to postnatal group today, was all about weaning - the hv there mentioned more frequent night waking as being a sign for starting weaning but HC's hv seems to think differently think it's just a case of wait and see.

maewickedwitchofthewest · 17/10/2006 20:57

sorry x-posted there

kayzed-yes, you are right-it was the pneu jab that you said-doh! My HV is sticking with the 6 month weaning rule but I'm not waiting that long. Crikey, most people are back at work by then! After being used to only getting up once in the night, 2 and 3 times is getting tiring. Sophie is tiny though so don't know if she will take to solids yet.

All the blurb about waking more seems a bit odd as she must be waking for a good reason fill my tummy mummy with yummy food.

Sophie has also gone from a once a week pooer to several curry poos a day-each requiring a change of clothes-yummy

mae-good to hear all is going well with your bro.

Just watched Holby-I did cry Now watching Supernanny.

Night girls.

Wallace · 17/10/2006 21:21

My HV was giving a 4 or 5 monthish baby lumps of banana at toddler group (comes to do baby clinic)! Mind you our "red book" (do you know what I mean? Does everyone get them?) says "babies can begin to take solids at 3-4 months"

Wallace · 17/10/2006 21:24

That reminds me Leo must be due his second jags this week. He had the pneumo one along with the first lot. He didn't have any reaction whatsoever. The pneumococcal one does also protect against some strains of pneumonia, I think.

Wallace · 17/10/2006 22:12

Photos of \link{ photos.orange.co.uk/album/4228081\Leo in his tummy tub} taken last week by ds. His eyes look a bit odd where I have removed the red eye - can never get them to look natural.

Wallace · 17/10/2006 22:15

Leo in his tummy tub link had a space in it before so link didn't work. Forgot to say - ignore the messy background - wa sthe end of a busy day and they were taken in front of the fire hence the bits of wood etc.

prettymummified · 18/10/2006 00:24

good morning all, god i have start going bed early!!

wallace- leo looks sooo cute and comfortable!!

maewest- really happy your brother is back!!

kz- ds had brown eyes when he was born, im asian and dp jamaican so we've never had blues eyes in our family (none that i know of)!

ds has been very good tonight, he went to sleep at 8 and still sleeping so got stuck into reading a book and just managed to drag myself away from it, do the dishes and once i tear myself away from the bloody pc i shall have a shower and go snuggle up next to dp!!

ok im getting off now so goodnight ladies and babaz!!

agalch · 18/10/2006 07:11

Morning ladies!!!

My very perfect lovely dd went down at 10pm and is still fast asleep so i feel bloody fab this morning.Well except for my rock hard fit to burst massive norks lol.

Have ds1's gf here to sleep over so will have two teens on msn and eating/drinking all day. They are nice tho and it is sweet to see how they are with each other. He is talking about getting her a friendship/eternity type ring for her for Christmas.Eeeek!!

Latest news on my vouchers is that some people will get a % back.10pence in the pound so i may get 70 quid back next year, great eh?
Have asked my mum if i can give her whatever i can afford next year and she can save it up for me.I am not a saver by nature and would spend it doing it myself

Eilidh is in 3/6 month clothes(has been for 3/4 weeks now)and her babygros are getting too small too.The 6/9 month one's look huge tho but her feet need the room so she'll be in them soonish methinks.

Niamh(dd1) is into the terrible two's and then some.My boys didn't have tantrums etc so i find it very stressful. She is such a girl, stands with hands on hips and says"but i want it NOW" Jeez what a nightmare. When she's in a good mood she is soooo nice.

Feeling a bit sorry for ds2 atm too.He volunteered to be the one with no xmas pressies so the others could get what they want.He is a kind little boy most of the time and helps so much with niamh,i worry that i put too much responsibility on him.It is easy to just keep saying oh ds2 can you do/get/play with Niamh etc.

My neice is visiting my mum atm so will be taking the 2 of them and putting them into the cinema for a treat,it'll make me feel a bit less guilty hopefully.

Anyhow must get some washing done.
Have a good day and everyone take care.
Maewest glad your brothers home xx

usandbump · 18/10/2006 08:37

Agalch- I love hearing about your family, your children sound like amazing little people All credit to you and your dp!

prettymummified- I go to bed as soon as Zack does I'd be up all night otherwise. Poor dp hardly sees me.

Wallace- those pictures are great, Leo looks so at home in the tub. I recently checked my photos for background mess, I didn't think to do it before I posted them

Mae- Thank you, yes things are happier and calmer in the usandbump household. Glad you're having some family time, must be good for your brother too

Bloss-very of your nights! Long may they continue for you

HC- Zack hasn't been gaining much over the last few weeks, HV wasn't worried just said it happens and only worry if he doesn't seem well in himself or it goes on for a long time. He is 11lb 11ozs at 13 weeks, weighed 7lb 9ozs at birth.

KZ- I'm so glad you mentioned the return of pg sickness! I did a pg test last week, I thought I was going mad It's obviously not as bad but it hits me in waves sometimes I actually feel like I'm going to throw up. It's horrible, brings it all back and makes me think never again!

Does anyone have any ideas why Zack's sleep is so up and down? It varies night to night sometimes waking every 2 hours, sometimes every 3-4 hours and the other night he went 8 hours.
Looking at your routines your babies seem to sleep roughly the same each night with the occasional week changing then settling down again.
I can handle it and I'm not desperately exhausted but just wondering if you think its something I'm doing?
Our days are roughly the same, 2 hour long walks on which he sleeps for about 45 mins he then also has another 45 min sleep at home at some point and I do the same each night to settle him down for bed. He feeds every 2-3 hours during the day.

Anyways best be off, have a good day all

HumphreysCoroner · 18/10/2006 09:42

Heavens-are we all doing PG tests? Thought it was just me

Sophie only up once so feel more refreshed. She is desperate for a feed so be back later.

Brill photies of Leo

Must get some more on myself.

Byee

kbaby · 18/10/2006 11:51

well im still going at it with the potty training and ignoring her attemps at convincing me she doesnt need to go by just taking her to the toilet where she does actually go. Hopefully this will work. I wanted to quit but MIL said not to and it will just takes a while for her to learn.
DS is still the same sleeping wise( twice to 3 times a night) but he has now found his voice and gurgles a lot esp when hes laid on my lap ready for food or has his hands in his mouth and hes now reaching for toys which is lovely.
DD is still being far too rough with him and just wont leave him alone for 5 mins. On sunday she srammed his face and head and even bit his head while pretending to kiss him!!!!! so it seems that shes constantly in TO. Im just so glad shes in nursery in the mornings.
I had ds weighed yesterday as last week he had only gained 3ozs in a fortnight, but this week had gained 5ozs in a week so is now 11lb 5, I was chuffed as I could finally tell my MIl that im not starving him by bf him although she did tell me yest that hed be sleeping through now if I was ff, you think she would want me to do whats best for her grandson by bf but apparently not. Im only still bf because I go to a bf group which is lovely and if I stop bf I have to stop going to the group, plus it saves heating up bottles. At the moment im carrying on to 3 months and then Ill rethink.

usandbump - we find the closer to nature teats were the only ones ds will take and even though I dont want to pressure you any more I have a friend who started back to work when her DS was 6 months and had to keep coming home in her lunch hr to bf as he wouldnt even take a beaker, thinking of it have you tried the beaker spouts, I think they do some from 3 months or i know this may be strange but get dh to take his top off when trying to feed for skin to skin or even try to do it in the bath if ds is relaxed in the bath, you never know it may work. As for the crying I only leave DS to cry if I have to ie doing something otherwise I pick him up, why leave him to cry if you dont need to and he wont be spoilt, DD was the same and once she could sit and entertain herself she was a happy content baby who would sit on her own for ages and play.

agalch - {{big hugs}} im really peed off for you, its a lot of money to lose.
Superblue - thanks for the reasurance

kayzed- weve got the opp problem ds is still in newborn or 0-3 clothes but his feet are huge and hes in a age 6 month sock, DD is the same her feet are a size 8 1/2 and shes only 2

lush photos wallace

why is it that ds will only nap for 45 mins then wakes up and falls back asleep on my lap.

I cant get used to all the name changes ive lost track whose who. sorry for long post but i have so much to say after 4 days of no posting. i hope wanadoo sort my internet out soon.

pinkdolly · 18/10/2006 12:35

hi ladies and babies,

All is fine here in the Stephens household. Dh is now finally home after 10 months of being on course (and a weekend dad). So the girls and I are really pleased.

Jasmine is just into her 0-3 month clothes at 14 weeks, although I havent had her weighed for a few weeks so not sure how she's doing.

She is showing no signs of needing extra food at the moment but if she does I wont be waiting till the 6 month mark.

Not looking forward to next wednesday as both Jaz and dd1 are having injections. I booked it for when dh is off work so he can do it. Does that make me a bad mummy? I just cant stand to see my girls in pain, and am phobic about needles.

I am joining weight watchers next week, thought it was about time to shift some of those extra pounds (making the most of my choccy this week tho!)

Agalch- poor you for losing all that money, i'd be livid. I am sure you will still manage to enjoy yourself at chrimbo. just a thought, we always buy little prezzies for the kids under the tree and then take them out in the january sales for their main prezzie (they like to pick their own).

I've just started going to a craft group at sure start. Its free and you can make allsorts of stuff for xmas prezzies. Currently making neclaces for dd1/2 stockings. Even dh comes along and joins in (but i'm not to tell his friends that).

Well will be off now, have a good day!

Hi all. The entire household is snotty & grotty!! At least I don't have to worry about passing it on to you lot! Didn't go to baby weighing clinic yest 'cus I'd have felt awful about everyone - that and I just felt too rough!! Last weigh (2 weeks ago - oops terrible mommy) she was 11lb8oz (11wks old then) so she's still fairly ickle - bless. she's in 0-3 tops and 3-6 bottoms as she has such long legs (lucky girl - doesn't take after her stumpy mom). dd1 is the opposite at 16 months she's in 2-3yrs tops (porker!!) and 18-24 month bottoms.
For any of you thinking about ff to get some sleep - don't bother!! It's made no diff whatsoever to either of mine - they sleep though when they need to. I think its about the point when you get so tired and fed up you don't leap straight out of bed to feed them - they get bored of waiting and fall asleep again (I am kidding - kind of).
Algach - your dear little ds2 has just had me in floods of tears - what a sweet little thing. I just want to run out and buy him loads of things just for being such a little trooper.
Wallace - Leo should be the advery baby for the tub, the little one on the actual advery doesn't look half as comfy and content (or cute).
Sorry if I get names a bit muddled - in all honesty I read the posts and then try to remember who said what - far too lazy to keep scrolling up and down!!
Weaning - when I got to the never ending hunger stage with dd1 (who was 4 months) I was advised not to wean early. I found a thing in mother and baby mag that was ace. It basically says if baby is a) drinking huge amounts b) looking with interest at your food c) able to sit up with some support on your lap or in a bouncy chair d) 3 x birth weight then weaning should be ok. I went for it with tiny bits of baby rice and milk and she seems fine now.
sorry long rambling post will go away now.
Oh by the way - No you're not all doing pg tests. I'm taking every precaution known to man!3 kids under the age of 3? NO THANKYOU!!
Also the lump had responded really well to the treatment and is shrinking so I'm much happier now.

SleepIsForTheDead · 18/10/2006 14:49

Hi all,
DS was really miserable today - after 2nd lot of jabs yesterday- but I have now managed to calm him down and he is relaxing in his inlfatable playring - best thing I ever bought! He cant sit up properly yet so lies in it, with his head on the blown up bit and feet kicking against the other side IYSWIM... surrounded by his fave toys he is a happy boy.
Should post a photie.

Good tips on weaning, they make perfect sense, a good strategy I think.

Agalch, what a cute little boy!! You must be so proud!

Glad your treatment is going well, MP!!!

x

KoshkaTheFIENDLYGhost · 18/10/2006 19:27

hey everyone, just wanted to check in. not too great here its just one drama after another in the koshka household!

jake is ok though. very lumpy gums think just a bit of time before a tooth i think

maewickedwitchofthewest · 18/10/2006 20:01

Sleep - we have one of those rings too, it is fab . My mum and brother have been staying for a couple of days, which has been great. Bro didn't want to cuddle Dom last time he saw him (at about 2 days old) as I think he was worried about dropping him, but this time had him cootched up on his lap pulling silly faces. Think he enjoyed himself, hope he starts to feel more positive soon.

Oh, and someone was saying about getting them weighed. I don't bother every week as I can see (and feel!) him getting bigger. Tonight he had a 3 boob supper (not that I'm some kind of freak, just had to keep swapping sides as he was getting frustrated ) and has been pretty hungry and sleeping more. Pretty sure it's a growth spurt as his clothes are getting tight again.

Morning again

Well Eilidh slept thru again.Put her down at 9pm and lifted her at 11pm for a dream feed(1st time it's ever worked)and shes stll asleep again. Will just enjoy it while it lasts, experience tells me it won't last lol.

Thanks for saying nice things about ds2,i told him what you all said and he blushed like mad.I will take a pic of the 4 of them together,it's funny seeing ds1 looking so big and manly with the younger ones.

Ds2 is going swimming with my neice today so more time away from his sisters,he said he really enjoyed his time away and he read dd1's entire book collection to her last night.(gush emoticion}

Meeting 2 friends for coffee this morning, and hopefully dd's will have a kip and i can get some housework done later on.I used to have a cleaner before i went on mat leave but she wasn't that great so it was a good excuse to get rid of her but i am thinking about getting someone in again.Just for a couple of hours to do the bathrooms and maybe one other job each week.Dp says i should as i have no time with ferrying the boys around to the gf's and clubs etc and the time spent nursing and playing with the dd's.So i think i will phone round this morning,ok feel better now, decision made.Do any of you ladies have a cleaner or am i being lazy

Anyhow have a good day and take care xx
