MerryBiglipsmas · 06/12/2006 23:24

ps.... DD knows that Father Christmas is watching her! as she got to be good or no pressies

maisiemog · 07/12/2006 21:30

I took Alfie over to my mum and dad's today because my nan is there until Saturday. She is looking soo much better and walking with a stick now.
Alfie was very good as well, he entertained his great gran no end
I was very impressed with Alfie because I took a little potty over to my parent's house, to live there, because I feel bad putting him in nappies for the entire visit. So anyway, he never uses this potty at home, just prefers his potty seat, but he used it all the time at my mum and dads, just found it and sat down. Mind you he looked very silly on this teeny potty, and I had to adjust his sitting position because he went on all wonky. I was really pleased with him because I thought he wouldn't remember where the potty was or would just forget to go, and peep on the floor.
Next step putting him in trousers and pants so he can learn to pull them down and up again. I can't wait, I'm sure he will pee and poop in them for a while before he works out that he isn't wearing a nappy. I think I'll put it off for a little while. Or just do it part-time.

KathH · 07/12/2006 21:44

Masiemog - sounds like Alfie is doing really well with his potty well done. Potty training moley is my Christmas holiday project. Not sure how well it will go dd2 & ds1 were really good but thought that dd1 would still be wearing nappies when she was 18!

maisiemog · 07/12/2006 22:21

Good Luck Kath! I reckon Moley will love it, or be verrry stubborn. Does he still do the peepee over the nappy thing??

It has taken a while to get Alfie to this stage, he just kind of clicked recently for everything on potty. He was really good at poops at 20 months, but still forgot to go for peeps, so lots of cleaning.
Did you do you other two part-time or go cold turkey?
Personally, I would go part-time everytime, it takes the pressure of and they still get it, plus less cleaning.
Are you off for long at Christmas?

KathH · 08/12/2006 21:10

Masiemog - with dd1 I was quite relaxed about it & it took her ages. With dd2 & ds1 I kind of went for the no more weeing in your nappy it's a potty from now on & they just seemed to get it. Although having said that there were other kids around the same age at the childminders & they all did it together which I think must have helped.

I have 2 weeks off at Christmas - moley is very aware that he's doing a wee or poo & announces it in a very loud voice. As I'm a bit out of practice with these things I'm guessing that thats a step in the right direction?

maisiemog · 08/12/2006 23:04

I think that sounds good that he knows. I was getting fed-up at one point, because Alfie seemed to run and tell me after he had done a totally inappropriate peep, like on the bed .
So I posted on a newsgroup and one mummy said that that's how they do it, first announce after, then during then before.
And I think that seems quite accurate, because after the 'before' announcements he moved onto saying peep, when he had peeped a bit and he would try to get to the potty, and now he announces peep to himself I think, and then runs to the potty.
He also says peep so he can go back and play with his dooots (trains - short for doot doot).
I think Moley's a smart little boy and he will be great at it when Christmas comes.
Did you finish your exams yet?
We had to go back to the eye clinic to see whether Alfie has a squint and he hated it. It's funny I always feel uptight before he has any kind of appointment, it's daft.
Oh but he's fine. Both of DP's brothers had squints, I think they had corrective action of some sort and now they are only noticable when they are tired.

cazzybabs · 09/12/2006 12:19

Masie - its good news about the squint.

Grace went to see Father Christmas yesterday with nursery - they took all the over 2s to the local garden centre.

My stupid cow of a neighbour has vandalised my bike again - 2nd time in 4 days (basically because of the cats) but she twisted the handbars round so much that it snapped the front brake cable again! But what can we do - as we have no proof it is her (apart from she is a psycho bitch who hates our cats becasue they kill birds). But I feel really stressed about it - I really hope I don't see her as I am not assertive at all and hate bad feeling.

maisiemog · 09/12/2006 22:59

Hi Cazzy, you poor thing having such a nutcase neighbour. Does she think that your cats ride the bike?
Can you put the bike indoors? Is this the first time she has done this?
There is a kind of pepper spray that she could put in her garden to stop cats coming in, surely that would be more constructive than breaking the law by damaging your property.
You could try leaving the bike out and putting up a webcam or something to see if you can catch her then call the police, she might get an ASBO.
I hope you are ok and not letting all the emotion get to you.
Or you could stick a banana up her exhaust pipe.

MerryBiglipsmas · 10/12/2006 11:50

is anyones toddler is so naughty when they are not well? as mine drives me up the wall as it like talking to a brick wall. she gone to bed for a nap now which is about an hour early as usual as she kept on saying "No!", ggrrr!! and ripped all the baubles up off the tree (not impressed!).. (and tipped out a bag full of xmas stuff and glitter that i dont need)

SantasFattymumma · 10/12/2006 11:53

Dd was born sept '04 so can i join in??

she is a nightamre!
she has literally goen from the funniest cutest little girl to being a beast.

she does nothign but either scream or deliberatly aggrevate her brother. oh and she has been really clingy since getting a cold, which is fair enough but if you try and put her down for something like....Go to the toilet, she screams blue murder.

grr roll on 3rd birthday

MerryBiglipsmas · 10/12/2006 12:44

Hello and welcome Santafattymumma..

i know what ya mean!! ..... no mine is good most of the time but hard bloody work!.. esp when she is not well and sometimes she is clingy too

My due date was 19th Sept 2004 but was 12 days overdue (went in for a induction as was fed up and so knackered!). She is very tall for her age as over 3 foot tall and weighed just over 2.5 stone too (my poor back!!)...she is so funny and so full of confidence too which she is very crafty too!

KathH · 11/12/2006 22:18

Hi Santasfattymuma do you think we could call you SFM? Moley takes turns between being an absolute cutey pie (come on mummy look at the mismas lights) and being an absolute bugger (if you dont do what I want I'll bite you) I had the cheek to have a bath today & I could hear him screaming blue murder downstairs.

I got him a really good bargain yesterday for Christmas - a story telling winnie the pooh thing. It was in Argos should have been £29.99 but was £8.99 - impressive or what?

maisiemog · 12/12/2006 00:52

Heehee! What do you mean by having a bath!! It's only been two years since he was born, you shouldn't need a bath yet. When he is five and starts school you may be permitted a shower.
I like the name of that toy A winnie the pooh thing that tells stories - surely the work of a marketing genius?
Hi SFM. I agree - hard work.
Very boisterous and want to eat your food when they have their own.
Hrrmph. My little boy is 25 months now and this morning he poured a bag of sugar over the kitchen floor, did the sand dance whilst I tried to clear up and then used the brush from the dustpan to swoooosh the suger under the fridge and just everywhere. He then ran about the house leaving sugar footprints everywhere. Very crunchy.
I must go to bed, Stupid CSI, making me stay up late!!!
Oh, and Alfie has a new word. He is a bit weird about wet hair, not dry because he loves my to grab my hair to chew - OW!. But when we are in the bath, if any hair is in the water, he makes 'grooo' screwed up faces and gets all squiggly. So the other day when we were in the bath he spotted a bit of cotton in the water, probably from the flannel, and he almost climbs out of the bath, going 'heeeeaa' ' heeeeeaa' (hair).
So I told him, 'no Alfie it's fluff' and he looks at it again and says 'FUFF'. He's been saying this for the past few days now, whenever he is in the bath and sees anything he doesn't recognise. 'Fuff', it's really cute. Hee hee. Probably only to me, but you know what us mums are like. )

KathH · 13/12/2006 21:58

moley had his assessment today - dh says he just scowled at everyone - he's 87cm tall & weighs 12.2 kg which "apparently" is small. He joined the library as well!

maisiemog · 14/12/2006 20:03

Heehee. Good old Moley, frowning away. What tests did he have to endure? Did he have to make tea like Geog's children?
He's small, but perfectly formed - he's going to be the brains not the brawn.

MerryBiglipsmas · 14/12/2006 20:10

well done Moley xx Mine had hers last week and kept on tapping the nurses arm saying "Lady?" "Lady?" to get her attention.

well tweenies cough is so much better today but now i think shes got the tummy bug as she threw up this morning and was gagging all morning but she is ok for now!

ive bought dd a keyboard and stool from the ELC as her main xmas pressie and about 5 other little pressies.

maisiemog · 14/12/2006 21:25

That is such a fab pressie Biglips. Every time we go to ELC Alfie plays with that. You might need earplugs for Christmas.
I was thinking about getting Alfie the ELC trike with a handle thingy? Not sure, any recommendations for good ones.
Mulberry bush online seems very good, sometimes they are much cheaper than ELC, sometimes much more.
I fancied getting something with the alphabet, Elc has a peg puzzle and a kind of abacus thingy, but the stupid age range for the peg puzzle is 3yrs up. What's that about?
Oh and another thing is the 'brighter bike' on Mulberry bush, it's from 2.5 up and apparently if you get one of these they can go straight to a bike without stabilisers. What do you guys think? Would it be better to get a brighter bike or a trike???
Pheww
Sometimes the fact that Alfie's birthday is so close to Christmas is a pain, there's such a gap between Christmas and his next birthday, especially when I want his grandparents to buy as many of the big presents as possible. Hee hee.

MerryBiglipsmas · 15/12/2006 18:12

hiya maisie - well atm my dd have had a trike for months now but still trying to pedal it sooo i know she feel safe on that as she cannot even pedal on a bike for a 3 yrs old

MerryBiglipsmas · 15/12/2006 18:24

help!!!

tweenie had climbed out of her cotbed a few times this week mainly when she had woken up.. what do i do and NO I DONT LIKE LOSING MY SLEEP!!!!

Thank you and have a good day!

maisiemog · 15/12/2006 21:57

OOoo! It's gone all wierd on here.
Biglips, welcome to my world.
When Alfie gets up it's quite a bit of work getting him to stay in bed. What trike does Tweenie have? There seem to be quite a few.

MerryBiglipsmas · 16/12/2006 10:24

aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.......

tweenie got a barbie trike but with no parental stick on behind which its useful as i got hers off my friend

cazzybabs · 16/12/2006 11:00

Why has it gone all wierd - is it us or the new layout?

Grace has got a puky 1st bike thing which is a little bit like a scooter from us and some creatiles from dd1. From FC she will get some chocolate (that she what she wanted), a charlie and lola t-shirt (so cute saying I never eat more than 10 biscuits in 1 go) and books etc etc.

She has been a little under the weather and so has missed her nursery Xmas play which I am feeling guilty about as she was the only one that sang apparently and I forgot to phone them up to tell them she wouldn't be in - god I am so terrible. Bloody teachers!

I am off to the doctors on Monday to tell her that I am preggers (hopefully) and she can also sort out on very very sore and very grim ingrowing toenail!

OHH and I have also booked tickets for the chinese state circus which should be good and we are off to London on Tuesday for the day.

MerryBiglipsmas · 16/12/2006 11:10

its all a new layout since yesterday

cazzybabs · 16/12/2006 11:17

well for some reason, on my laptop only, I have kept the old layout - not that i am complainning mind you!
