We just have a fight about what pants to wear in the mornings - usually the dirty ones from last night! And which toilet to go on - upstairs or downstairs. We dispenced with the potty early on.

Does anyone elses chid stutter - Grace is quite bad. It is like she knows aht she wants to say but can't form the words fast enough and ends up syaing erggh lots.

Tomorrow at nursery they are going to paint her hair red and do some face painting!!! GREAT!

jbadgirl - I am glads Toby is doing Ok.

Biglips - how is your cat?

Biglips · 15/03/2007 21:29

lol @ kathh as DS wallking around with it on his head! ..you better keep an eye on him incase he poured the wee on his head ....hee hee!!

Cazzy - my cat is fab!! as a brilliant housecat...As she was spayed a month ago (and DD was told me and my mum that she had a baby!!), ive put the cat out and suddenly there be a knock or a mmmmmmiiiiiiiiaaaaaaaaaaaooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwww! at the back door as she wanted to come in...she wont go any further than our back wall. She had seen other cats but she is ssooo nervous with them!....oh and she is a dog - defo a dog as we have to whistle to her to come here..or if you throw her fave toy - a small stuffed mouse toy - and throw the mouse upstairs..she'll bring back to me and drop it next to my feet!..or she loves a rough tumble stroke and her chest stroked which she be purring her head off

Hi all,
Kath, that sounds like Alfie when we first bought the potty seat, he used to wear the lift-out bit on his head all the time. Strange little things.
Cazzy, I don't really know if Alfie has a stutter, I have a lot of trouble understanding him, so who knows? He does lishtp though.
I don't know if that is a girl thing: the clothes and pants choosing. I try to get Alfie to choose clothes with me, but he just runs off. The only time he gets excited is if I put on something like his Underground Ernie Pyjamas on, it's like 'ngrnernie' over and over. He is such a stereotype. Never mind I'm taking him to ballet in a few months.
The potty thing is going pretty well, I was a bit worried about going out, but he seems to be OK. He has had a few accidents, mainly because he asked for the potty, when he was absolutely bursting, and I couldn't get the potty out and his clothes off in time.
He peeped his trousers last week at the library - DP took him round and was reading the paper whilst Alfie played in the enclosed toy area. DP said he looked up and saw Alfie running about nakeybums and his trousers in a soggy heap. He has also taken off his socks and shoes (shoes are still at the library). So DP quickly whipped out a spare pair of trews and dressed Alfie before the library staff noticed.
But today, Alfie was at the museum with his granparents and he told his grandad 'pottee peep' (that's how he speaks ) and they ran all the way back to the pram and got the potty - and he did a peep in the middle of the museum - slight leakage, but at least he told his grandad. I consider that progress.
He is not very keen on the toilet, bit frikey I think, so I'll have to bribe him to go on.
I don't think it would take long to get Tweenie going on the potty. Will she sit on it?

geogteach · 21/03/2007 19:56

Well geog is totally uninterested in toilets but he does tell me in no uncertain terms when he has done a pooh. Yestaday we were at a coffee moring in DS1's school, he announced to everyone ' i've done a pooh', 'i'm a smelly boy' in a very loud voice until I was so embarrassed we left. I wouldn't worry about a stutter at this age I can remember DD having one but she is fine now I think their brains just go faster than their mouths! He went to pre school with his sister this afternoon as I had to go to a meeting, he was very proud of himself. What did you play geog? 'taking turns', just wish he'd practise that one when playing with kids his own age!

maisiemog · 22/03/2007 14:06

I'm glad Alfie can't speak much yet!!
I'm sooo looking forward to him getting on a crowded bus and saying 'Mummy's got smelly pants' or other similar gem.

Apparently I had a bit of a stutter when I was little - and I never stopped talking. I agree with Geog about the brain going faster than the tongue.

BigCremeEggs · 23/03/2007 08:08

hiya all. Tweenie does sits on her potty now nad again and also on the toilet too but i still say Good girl even if she hadnt done anything on the potty/loo. Last weekend on Mothers Day, i was treated to a lovely meal with the rest of us, Dp, DD and SD. The kids were in the soft play area whilst we were waiting for our meal to arrive. Suddenly there was the bear called Brewsters Bear (the name of teh restaurant is Brewsters). DD SCREAMED!!!! and was in total fear she wrapped her arm very tightly around my neck whilst i was nearly choking!! I was trying to explain that it was Barney Bear adn he loves children...didnt work so Barney the Bear left an gone to bed....all the way thru the meal she on checking with me "Barney Bear gone to bed?" about 100 times!!!!!!

BigCremeEggs · 23/03/2007 09:13

tweenie is staying over at my mums tonite for the first time....it be really weird (and lovely) that she wont be in her own bed on Saturday morning...

maisiemog · 23/03/2007 09:45

Haha! Poor Old Tweenie! They're bloomin' strong aren't they? Alfie strangles me when he is trying to grab my hair when it's in a ponytail, and it's hard to get him off.
It sounds positive that she is sitting on the loo and potty, as long as she is relaxed she'll be right mate.
Alfie was on a bus the other day and there was a little boy sitting with his granny opposite. He was about seven or eight and kept Alfie entertained by making horrible faces. Alfie was getting really excited 'HAHAHAHAHA!' 'SCREEEECH' and then fake sneezes. AAAATCHOOO! Alfie was really getting into the sneezing and leaning right back on 'AAAAA', then throwing himself forward on 'TCHOO', so much so that he was nearly flying out of his pram.

Twinmummyx2 · 27/03/2007 19:01

Hi..i posted already but it seemed to appear on the main list of boards hoping i do it right this time..!

Hi all, my name is Emma, mum to 8, my youngest twins wee born in Oct 04...so i think i am allowed here !?!...gonna catch up on things [again]

me.x

KathH · 27/03/2007 19:54

Hi - welcome to Oct 04! 8!!!! I thought I had it hard with 4! How on earth do you manage 8? Kath faints in the corner of her living room

maisiemog · 28/03/2007 08:52

8!!!! Wow and twins!! [faints as well]
Hi there and welcome.
I just wondered if anyone had seen that new Cbeebies programme: 'In the Night Garden'??
It's soo cute and old-fashioned. I sat with Alfie and watched it the other night it's such a chill-out. It reminds me of children's programmes when I was little, because they always had a middle aged, male narrator with a very strong RP accent.
Also, what toys are the other babies playing with. Alfie still likes his old toys, with push buttons and American accents, which play horrible music. I'm fairly sure they are for up to 24 months? Hoping he grows out of these soon.
Also liking playdoh (deyicious!), very simple jigsaws, building bricks, and of course cars buses and trains sets (I like the train sets too ).

BigCremeEggs · 28/03/2007 09:05

welcome on board twinsmummyX2.....i thought 1 is hard enough, never mind 8!!!!! youre braver than i am as i like to try one more and thats it!.....yesterday i asked Tweenie (my dd) if mummy can have a baby? and straight away she said "NO!"...i asked her again and she gently said "No....youre mummy!" "i think she meant to say that im HER mummy and none else!! eek!

god im full of cold today

tweenie still loves some of her baby toys. When we go to a toy library, tweenie goes flying over to the baby gyms!! she loves them!

Tweenie is a dolly mad!

BigCremeEggs · 28/03/2007 09:06

oh yes "in the night garden" my tweenie loves them as she is ssoooo quiet when she watched it

cazzybabs · 28/03/2007 09:15

Hi girls. (welcome Twinmummyx2 - gosh can't imagine twins the same age as dd2. One is bad enough) I am caroline and have 2dds (1 is nearly 5 and other one is an Oct 04 baby - Grace).

Grace is a dolly fan - much more than dd1. I am off to see my mum and dad for a few days. Grace says "I not plove you. I only plove bampa".

KathH · 28/03/2007 21:32

moley is a fan of dd2's dollies

Twinmummyx2 · 30/03/2007 11:45

Hi all, thanks for your kind welcomes...sorry for the shocks...lol

It ain't all that bad...honest..i would recommend it....it is expensive tho!..lol they are good eaters and sleepers...just waiting to see what the teenage years brings...i find boys are easier than girls...if it was the other way round and had 6 girls i think i would be struggling-as lovely as they are-they are very confident and independent-and won't accept no as an answer!..lol

Mine have watched the night garden one, there are a few new programmes on cbeebies at the mo. My 2 are loving Charlie and Lola still tho.

Wondering if anyone has mamanged to get there oct 04 toddlers out of nappies yet? I never tried my others til the age of 3 and they were done within a few days..day and night....but might try these 2 a bit earlier now....in the right kind of mood..it's usually something i dread-potty training!

cazzybabs · 02/04/2007 20:51

Grace is out of nappies, although not at nighttime. Mind you we use reusable nappies so I am glad she is out of them.

(BTW [cazzybabs whispers because of what happened at Christmas] i am pregnant again - please pray this one hangs on....due (hopefully) in Dec. I want to tell you lot because should I have another mc then I will want to tell you too because you are all so lovely).

geogteach · 03/04/2007 09:39

Fab news Cazzy (am I right this is number 3? 3 is best in my humble opinion!) Congratulations on the nappies, geog is nowhere near and has given up on reusables so now not only are we not toilet trained but also contributing to landfill
Today I have to take DD for a hearing test, she is now exactly the same age as DS1 when he got his first hearing aid so i'm a bit apprehensive.

maisiemog · 03/04/2007 23:53

WooHoo Cazzy! [in a low key way] That's great!
Take it easy now, and no stress! So that means take DVDs to work, for the kids to watch and let them eat sweets whilst you sit reading romance novels with your feet up, patting your tum. 'Kay!'

Good Luck with the test Geog!

cazzybabs · 04/04/2007 17:46

ha ha the no stress...

we are about to be inspected and have just heard we may exchange contracts for our new house this week and therewas me feeling sure it would be at least May before anything happened...ahhhhhhhhh

maisiemog · 04/04/2007 21:19

That sounds like a bit of stress then.
So if you exchange this week, when would you have to move?
Inspectors are lovely they want you to do well.

cazzybabs · 05/04/2007 12:56

If we exchange this week we may well move in the week we are being inspected! I told dh I didn't not want to move in this week when this data was suggested and now of course when I remminded him of this last night he denied all knowledge! MEN!

maisiemog · 05/04/2007 21:39

Pooo!
It might work out though in a way - you might be too busy moving to worry about the inspectors. You'll be l ike 'Teaching assessment! Yeah yeah! Whatever!

BigCremeEggs · 06/04/2007 15:32

yippee!!! to cazzy....congrats xx and well done to Grace being out of her nappies. Tweenie is using the toilet as an excuse so she doesnt go straight to bed at night!! as she keeps on telling me she want to do a poo!

Looks like ive got do some more clothes shopping for Tweenie as her 2-3 yrs old are small - she had shot up again in the past 4 weeks (stop growing for 5 minutes!!). So got a few 3-4 yrs old clothes handy. Her speech is coming on brilliant too.
