cazzybabs · 06/04/2007 15:44

My message implied Grace was out of nappies this week - she has been out for ages - was more replying to Twinmummyx2.

Oh god I have stomach ache and back ache - am spending evyer ten munites on knicker watch...

and trying to get my two out of the house...erghhhhhhh

maisiemog · 06/04/2007 17:28

Trying to get them out of the house. OMG!! It's awful.
I put on Alfie's shoes and socks, after half an hour of coaxing, then when I go to get his coat - he takes the shoes and socks off again!
Went to buy eggs this morning at Woolys and he was a TT chucking huge wailing collapsing fits because he couldn't play with the 'toooooooys'.
I ended up just grabbing a load of random eggs, missed all the three for two deals and paid forty odd quid for the eggs.
He's going to Woolys in his pram from now on. I always thought it was funny that so many kids are still in prams/pushchairs down my way, but I think I see why. They stay in them until they start school and their mums can go shopping without them.
Then I think, 'how am I going to tire him out if he's in the pram' then I think 'my head hurts - I'm not going out at all - I give up!!!'

Biglips · 14/04/2007 19:05

I'm fine ta for asking - hows things with you? Moley still's quite demanding I think is the word but he's starting to be really good company, he's really good at talking which is probably due to having older sisters & brother but you can have a really good conversation with him now. He's still torn between thinking the pottys either a boat or a hat though!

maisiemog · 16/04/2007 18:01

Hiiii. Well done Biglips! You are clever! Now do you have any tips for the 3:30 at Kempton Park?
Aaah Moley sounds like a little sos(idge)I know that's wrong, but I like spelling it that way )
What's he up to? Is he going to sleep a bit better now?
Alfie has been up late the past few nights, too tired and excited from visiting various people. I was soo fed-up with him mucking around for hours last night and I smacked his leg quite hard (waaaaaah) I feel so rotten. He wasn't doing it on purpose. After he finally went to sleep I sat in the sitting room crying because I felt so nasty - I'm anti-smacking, but I also have a bad temper, so it's quite hard for me. Poor Alfie.
I read somewhere that if I feel like smacking him, I should clap my hands together as I speak and it should help to get the stress out. I was thinking it would sound bad from another room if someone heard loads of smacking sounds coming from the bedroom.
Oh well, I'll have to start again today.
He's a little lamb though, and looks very tired today.
He's speaking quite a bit more now, but I'm not sure I would describe what we have as conversations. I can't wait until we can actually speak about things.
My friend's little girl is four and she kept asking me why over and over when I was at her house on Saturday. That could be wearing.

cazzybabs · 17/04/2007 20:24

oh gosh - we are at the why stage with Graace now, why why wy bloody why!!! AHHHHHHHH.

I have the runniest nose ever - its driving me mad. The minute I get back to work I have a cold. Hey ho.

Otherwise all is fine.

Masie (terrible mother confession) I once smacked dd1 because she would not stop playing with the socket. I never did again because I am sure the only thing it did was make me feel better! And dd1 is fine - so with Alfie. So don't stress about it.

maisiemog · 19/04/2007 00:55

OMG - we went to visit a friend whose little girl is four and she was 'why' and then you answer and then 'why' and then you answer and then...you get the picture.
Thanks Cazzy. Alfie is OK, not in therapy, not too bad. I'm such a grump. He was very naughty today - kept ignoring me or saying no, he put toothpaste on the rug and all over his toys (I thought he was quiet) I still haven't found the toothpaste tube. He has eaten 5 kilos of 'soft stuff' from ELC 'deyicious' and spilt juice on my papers and everytime I give him a drink, he runs into the bathroom and pours it down the sink.
Hmmm!
I hope your cold is better soon Cazzy - it's the old immune system going bonkers, it's a good thing though - that's what's supposed to happen isn't it.
Ooo Ooo I have a question about colours - I read that at 29-30 months babies should know one colour, that doesn't seem much to me. Is this true do you think??

geogteach · 19/04/2007 14:16

Geog knows all his colours but have to say DD didn't know hers when she started pre school so like all these things it varies. Heard that geog is definately starting pre school in September, he has a melt down every time we drop DD off because he can't stay so he is definately ready!
He now has his own room and a bed. Took him 3 days to work out he could get out by himself and now he announces 'mummy i'm here' as he switches my light on and off at 6am in the morning... not exactly what I had in mind!

maisiemog · 19/04/2007 18:03

Yes, Alfie knows quite a few colours as well, I thought one colour seemed a bit measly.
He gets his colouring pencils out and tells me what colour each one is "boo, ello, pink, geeen, peple etc... I think it's lovely. Probably put most people to sleep though.
How many hours per day would Little Geog stay at pre-school?
I still only have one application in, for the nursery nearby and they say two hours per day, probably in the afternoon. He can't start until he is officially three, so that will be in November this year - if there is a place.
But that's Scotland.
How did DD's test go?

KathH · 19/04/2007 18:55

Moley knows quite a lot of colours - pink seems to be his favourite & as I'm such a bad mother he calls brown "chocolate"

geogteach · 19/04/2007 19:27

Geog will do 2.5 hours twice a week, then 3 times after christmas and 4 the following Sept. The test was good, she has a minor speech problem that is probably just from copying DS1 who is deaf, she passed the hearing test itself.
Pink is a favorite here 2, our boys obviously all like to show their feminine side - in fact geog loves to tell everyone he isn't a baby he is a big girl

KathH · 19/04/2007 20:11

geogteach - moley proudly tells people "I a good girl"

maisiemog · 19/04/2007 23:34

OMG, they all like pink. Alfie too! Well it is a nice bright colour, no wonder.
I have my favourite tea towel in the kitchen just now - it is a lovely pale pink, it's lovleeee!
Not that I wear pink myself.
My great gran reckons that boys used to be dressed in pink and girls in blue when she was little, so I don't know when they switched around.
That's good news for DD Geog.

cazzybabs · 25/04/2007 19:40

Grace knows loads of colous (I am always about three weeks behing on the this thread) - grey, purple, pink, etc etc). Blue is her favourite colour - wonder when it will swtich to be pink?

My friend at work commented today "She never stops talking does she?" erghhh no! But she is so sweet and cuddley!

(sorry - ahhhhh dd1 is out of bed again and wondering around. Bloomin' child - I'll pay for this tomorrow morning!)

cazzybabs · 25/04/2007 19:41

Where is biglips and jbadgirl......come om girls how are you little ones?????

maisiemog · 26/04/2007 21:17

Hi all [waves]
Yes, where is Biglips and how is Little Tobes??
Today was very important because Alfie did his first standing up on a step pee into the big toilet. It was so funny, he isn't that keen on the big toilet, so this is remarkable and hilarious (for me) because the toilet is soo big and he is soo little.
He even did another one later - I had to hold his peepee, which I don't really want to get into the habit of doing, but it was going to go down his leg otherwise.
It's good though, because I have had to take his little potty around with me on long trips, because he doesn't like the toilet.
Yay!!!! Now I can leave the stupid thing at home.
His speech is kind of getting better, I don't think he is anywhere near his developmental level, but he's progressing and he can say some things really clearly like 'nice cake' and 'racing car'.
He's doing really well with jigsaws as well, I think he's very clever. He can put together quite a few pieces of a new twelve piece jigsaw of Fifi and the Flowertots, by himself. I have to help with the corners, but he did at least half by himself. I was trying to be very restrained at this, by clapping loudly over my head whenever he put a piece in the correct place.
I think this is going to be very useful in his future career as a jigsaw doer.
How are you feeling Cazzy, not sick I hope.

cazzybabs · 26/04/2007 21:30

I am feeling so sick and tired in the evenings. I don't know what to eat and have a sleep between 7-9. Mind you I don't really mind as with the mcs I didn't have any symptoms - so I am hoping this one is going to be OK!

Beansprout - do you rememer her? she is just pregnant as well due start of Jan.

Well done to your ds Maise (mind you not sure I would like to he holding willies either - thank god I have girls)! I have just informed dh if we have a ds holding willies is his job. Grace has said she only wants a baby brother - not that she knows yet.

maisiemog · 26/04/2007 22:38

Oh no! Poor you feeling sicky.
I agree though, it's a healthy thing.
What will you do if it's a girl? You'll have to see if anyone on the ward will do a swap?
Little Peepees, like Alfie's, are cute, so it's not so bad. I put him in the bath with my friend's little girl recently and the granny was laughing because she was so used to little girls and seeing a little boy with a little peepee jumping about was very amusing.

cazzybabs · 29/04/2007 09:52

Do you think Biglips has disappeared....she hasn't posted in over a month? I mean I know I am one to talk but she was alwys regular. I am going to search for her and see when the last time she posted on MN was....

cazzybabs · 29/04/2007 09:54

23 Arpil was the last time she posted....she is still around then...

come back Biglips...we love you

jbadgirl · 29/04/2007 13:09

Hellllloooo!!! Sorry for not posting for a while, had a week off in march and guess where I ended up.....
THE HOSPITAL... Toby got another chest infection surprise surprise!

It also happened to be my birthday too so I woke up on the ward, what fun.

Just bought a new computer and its fab. Much quicke than the 4 year old laptop!
Trying to find all the favourites I had saved on old computer.

Toby had his button changed last week and it turned my stomach a little, next time ill be the one doing it!

He is allowed to stay overnight now at the Cherries which is a restbite centre. He normally goes there on a wednesday during the day. He had his first overnight on thursday so we went out for a meal together.

They are going to look after toby for our weeks holiday, you couldnt ask for better babysitters. Most of them are qualified nurses so they know what they are doing!!!

cazzybabs · 29/04/2007 13:24

Poor old Toby - I am glad he is better now and your respite care sounds great. I used to volunteer at Acorns which offered respite for terminally ill children - it was so lovely there!

maisiemog · 29/04/2007 20:38

Oh dear, poor Toby - how is he now?
Yay! You're going on your hollys Jbad! I bet Toby gets spoiled and has a lovely time.
I used to be very queasy about any bodily fluids too, but I have had to toughen up with emptying out Alfie's stinky potty. I find it much more horrid than his nappies, not sure why.
I hope you manage OK. Toby's lucky to have a mummy like you doing his button.
Cazzy you're never off here now.
I have noticed that Alfie can't say 'L' he says 'ion' instead of lion and 'Bamamory' and I have been teaching him to say double decker with a cockney accent - like dubauw decka, because he can't say double. He sounds a right little apples and pears.
He has figured out that more than one thing adds an 's' onto words, so he was looking at a book and told me the animals were sheeps, I felt bad telling him it was wrong. And foots! Shaking head! Poor thing, just when he thought he had it....
