mamamaaargh · 16/10/2006 15:19

What a great excuse, Wabbitt! I don't have a good reason for being on here but, like SR, I have tons to do & I think I'm just trying to avoid it.

We all have colds too and it's making me miserable! . Hope you all get better soon,

must go and get ds dressed (it's 20 past 9)

mummyscaryhouseonthehill · 16/10/2006 15:51

Hi all

I should be cooking tea for when dh gets in and sorting kids out so I can go to work tonight but cannot be bothered atm.

WereWABBITT · 16/10/2006 16:10

I have found a family law and mediation specialist law firm and I'm booked in for my initial appt on Friday morning

actually, I was amazed that making that first step has been so emotional - I had tears in my eyes as I gave exP's name but hey ho - can't trust him to be nice - so he'll just have to be nasty to the solicitor.

mummyscaryhouseonthehill · 16/10/2006 18:07

WereWABBITT - I hope mediation works if not take the bull by the horns and fight him sweetheart we will all be here to support you in any way you need (Won't we girls?).I am fairly certain it is my turn to come over to you so it's your turn to chose venue for a meet up on the 27th, lets make a day of it, will drop N off at school and head over to chosen venue, will have to be back in time to collect her from school though as FIL is not at all well.

mamamaaargh - hope you get over the colds soon. May see you here later when I get in from work it will be midnight here not sure what time that will make it for you though.

Jaamy - will have to let you know when I will be up north again so we can get together.

Right then sorry to those I have missed but I must get D ready for bed. N is already in her PJ's. They are both realy tierd as we were at a lovely christening yesterday up in JAAMY's neck of the woods. They had such a busy day and didn't go to sleep till we were on our way home last night. DH is feeling poorly think he may have got the tummy bug that's going round down here.

Love to everyone.

Simplyred · 16/10/2006 18:33

Hello!

Well done wabbitt - you will need expert advise. Hello all - sorry to hear about the colds and bugs everywhere! Must now round ds up for bed and bath! Rachels already asleep - we went to ds's love in a box assembly- any one else had to do the shoe box??

mamamaaargh · 16/10/2006 19:13

Well done wabbitt - I found speaking to a lawyer the hardest thing to do too and, like you, I had a lump in my throat and had to blink back the tears. It's odd you said that because as I read it, an e-mail arrived from my lawyer with documents for me to review. It's making me feel sick, so I can't open it at the moment. Maybe I'll do it later after a glass of wine...

Mummyhill - I may well be around when you get in from work - it'll be about 6pm here.

SR, what's a shoebox? (Obviously I know what a shoebox is but what was special about the one your ds made - did he put special things in it?)

ychocuspocus · 16/10/2006 20:58

Hi everyone, long time no post. Just been catching up.

Wabbitt - sorry your ex is giving you all this grief. It's good you have your sister close to you. Loved the photo of baby wabbitt - he's so cute

J seems to constantly have a runny nose just now. He's also started sleeping really late, some mornings waking up about 8.30am, he goes to bed at 7pm. I don't know if it's because of the darker mornings but that boy can really sleep. (I know I shouldnt moan, but just panic a bit when i wake up in the morning and run through to his room to make sure he's ok).

Got a red Quinney Zapp and so far it's ok. DH loves it but I'm still not sure. I wish the seat was a bit deeper, but the size and weight of it are great.

Found out yesterday that another one my friends is pregnant with her first. This is a very much longed for baby so I'm really pleased for her.

Bought my first 2 Christmas presents yesterday - I'm never normally this organised!

Anyway, I'm off to fold a ginormous pile of washing......

WereWABBITT · 16/10/2006 23:04

Awww YCH such a sweet thought that you dash into his room to make sure he's ok - I've still got C in the bedroom with me... in fact it's going to be like that for some little while yet as there're no rooms left!!!

I love the mornings when i see his little cheeky face peering over the cot waiting for me to wake up

Sorry you're not overly keen on the zapp - must say I LOVE mine... I've not got anything to compare it with though as dd didn't have a buggy - I carried her everywhere I went and she was expert at sitting on my hip.

Thankyou for the phone call MH - it had been a big step - but as you gathered on the phone, I'm under no illusions as to the nature of my exP now.

SR - love in a box? I've not heard of these... are they gifts for children in less fortunate countries? dd used to do christmas boxes and this year I was thinking it would be nice to do baby boxes with C's tiddley clothes... I was wondering if there was a charity that could get baby clothes and cotton nappies to refugee camps (I don't even know if they would be appropriate)

just a thought anyway

Mamama - I'm just about to finish off and then I'll reply to your mail

mamamaaargh · 17/10/2006 00:53

Wabbitt - how lovely that C waits for you to wake up. I am rudely awoken with lots of shrieks and squeals. This morning, ds had managed to wriggle out of his grobag and thrown it across the room! He has begun to sleep a bit later these days so maybe it is due to it getting lighter later?

Beginning to feel slightly panciky about xmas now. Perhaps I should do a bit of online shopping. Having a hard time thing straight at the mo so have no idea who I need to buy for let alone what to get!

mummyscaryhouseonthehill · 17/10/2006 00:55

Just in from work having a naughty alcoholic drink and some continental chocs then off to get some sleep. Have to get N to school in the morning and then go and sit through harvest festival assembly at 10. Trying to work out what I can do in the 1 hr I ghave to kill between drop off and assembly!!! No point in going home or to asda because by the time I get there it would be time to turn round and come back to school.

mamamaaargh · 17/10/2006 01:00

Oooo, sounds lovely MH! Have a good sleep.

mummyscaryhouseonthehill · 17/10/2006 01:03

Will try hun. How are you?

mamamaaargh · 17/10/2006 01:16

Not too bad thanks - just selling/ giving away all our baby stuff so am feeling a bit miserable!

Simplyred · 17/10/2006 06:48

Morning!

Yes - ds's box was full of things for a 5-9 year old boy for christmas. Each child had made up a box and presented it to the charity in assembly.

Tak ecare all xx

mummyscaryhouseonthehill · 17/10/2006 07:45

Sorry you are feeling mamamaaargh. I am currently lending mine to my sister and it feels odd seeing my baby stuff else where, but at least I know it will be looked after and that if by some miracle we decide to go for no 3 I can have all my stuff back.

SR - the shoe box thing sounds lovely.

DH is staying home in bed today but I will still have to take D with me to Harvest festival!!! N is not impressed she thinks he will ruin it. The head teacher is a bit of a dragon and will tell me off if he makes any noise silly old bat. When D goes to sleep I may crawl back to bed myself!!!

mollyollymummy · 17/10/2006 16:10

Hi everyone - Just returned from our trip to Florida and I have to say my little M was an angel.I kept her amused with some new books the small angelina ballerina kind, she's really into books at the minute, lots of finger foods aswell.
Mamama - My DD also likes empty water bottles that did the trick too.

Security at Gatwick let me take liquids and jars of baby food, however I did have to taste everything . It was a very different story comming back, American security threw out my bottles of pre-boiled water that I was later going to add the formula to .I decided to keep her on formula untill we got back purely for convenience sake so that I did't have to worry about keeping milk cool. She copletly went off her food while we where there so I was glad I took it as she drank plenty and at least I knew she was getting all her nutrients. It was no great shakes to us as I just bought some milk and juice frim a cafe in the departure lounge, but if I'd been travelling with a young baby who really needed Pre-Boiled water it would have been a very different story.

I know security take these measures to ensure our safety, but American airport security are like the Gistapo they Yell at you like you're a crimal.

Anyway on a much lighter note, we had a wonderfull time took Molly to see Barney at Universal she loved all the singing and dancing.

mamamaaargh · 18/10/2006 03:54

Sounds like a wonderful holiday mollyollymummy. American Security are really horrible. I have no idea why - they're all on a power trip. Am glad the Uk side of things was better though.

Hope you managed to get back to bed mummyhill. I sneaked a little nap this afternoon and it was wonderful!

SR - the shoeboxes are such a great idea. We used to do those - the kids always tend to be really thoughtful.

Wabbitt - am working on an e-mail to you.

IdrisTheDragon · 18/10/2006 08:55

Morning .

Will do a longer post one of these days .

Simplyred · 18/10/2006 14:56

Hello!!!

Sounds a great Holiday Mollyollymummy - we are thinking about Florida - it's fantastic. Sorry about the security - I know they have a job to do - but I worry about little kids and babys mainly those with food intollerances. These restrictions could result in a death - 9 + hours on a plane is a long time.

Hello Idris.

Hows things Wabbitt, Mama and Mummyhill?

mummyscaryhouseonthehill · 18/10/2006 16:12

Dh went off to work today, still feeling a bit poorly.

DD breaks up from school tomorrow.

DS is lovely walking more each day, trying to talk but still not sleeping.

Right off to cook tea and get ready for work.

WereWABBITT · 18/10/2006 19:58

hellooooooooo

more later

WereWABBITT · 18/10/2006 23:54

Sounds busy at yours MH - one day you'll get a chance to put your legs up and have a cuppa x

I managed to get hold of a copy of Mums On Pregnancy the MN book for 50p today loads of current posters in it - I keep having a nose at it whilst I should be doing other things (a bit like MN really then!)

MollyOllyMummy - sounds like you've had a great time and dd sounds like she was everso good on the plane to the nasty US security though - no need for rudeness.

I'm putting notes together for the solicitor on Friday - it's made me cross. I have no positive thoughts about exP whatsoever at the moment.

On a lighter note Conrad's so very nearly walking now... he spends so much of his time standing, often clinging onto my skirts which is so sweet (but stops you moving very fast . He can't possibly stand for longer without actually starting to walk unaided!

I've also got the dates through for my Childminding course Lord knows how I'm going to fit it all in, but at least I'll enjoy the time I've got with C

I've a whole list of 'things to do' before the course starts though - so looks like I'll be busy over the next 3 weeks.

Hello to Idris - 'saw' you on the 'never leaving MN' thread - that's good to know

Made me think - I know you've MNed for a long time now MH but how long have others here been MNing?

for me - it was July/Aug O5 I think - heavily PG and so pleased to find you all in the same boat

Night night all - I'm off to bed xx

Mamama - don't fret about the e-mail, as and when you can Take Care x

WereWABBITT · 18/10/2006 23:56

and I wish I'd remember to close brackets once I've opened them

)))))))))

there! There are some to put the balance straight!

mummyscaryhouseonthehill · 19/10/2006 00:46

I've not been here as long as you think wabbitt the earliest thread I can find under my name is Jan 05. Nearly two years then for me how about the rest of us?

mamamaaargh · 19/10/2006 02:34

It's hard to walk when you have a toddler clinging to your leg, isn't it? I often feel as though I have a large limpet stuck to me and I always have sticky fingerprints round my knees!

Sorry about the lack of sleep MH, I do sympathise!

Not much going on this side of the Atlantic - DS has just realised that he can sign 'bath' really well so has been marching up and down the apartment all day, asking for a bath - Silly thing! He's also discovered that he can pull socks off feet - his own or mine, doesn't matter. So, lots of cold toes over here!

I'm a newbie here - I only discovered MN a few months ago and lurked for a while before I found you. It is so nice to have mummies with similar aged babies to 'talk' to
