Omg yw how exciting!!!! Eeeeeee!!!!

fiatpanda thanks :) I think it's really helped today knowing others are in the same boat :) my dp said making him laugh works for him when he's with him and I'm not about usually and if not he just leaves him to it so humour clearly works well for e sometimes! to be fair it does on occasion for me too but generally I'm busy and so I usually have to leave him to it. He throws tantrums when I'm cooking for example and I can't really not cook

Oh yw squeeeee some more!!!!

Jims · 16/09/2014 21:11

oooh how exciting - a birth on the thread! Loads of luck yw

glad you had a better day kyz. I figure the cute factor has to be high to off-set the tantrum malarkey.

In other far more mundane news, cleaner number 3 is due tomorrow.

Elizadoesdolittle · 16/09/2014 21:14

oh yw how exciting. I'll be thinking of you. eeeeeeek xxx

BigPigLittlePig · 16/09/2014 21:20

Kyz when F gets het up, I shriek "oh look, a giraffe outside the window!" which stops the tears instantly. Sadly she has never made it to the window in time to see this elusive giraffe Wink

StuntNun · 16/09/2014 21:39

Sorry Kyz but that sounds like normal toddler behaviour. Ignore, distract or pick them up bodily and haul them off. It is much worse for first time mums. Once you've seen it before you're much more inclined to laugh about it because you know it's just a phase. I find the Incredibly Years by Carolyn Webster-Stratton is very good for sorting troublesome behaviour. If it's any consolation things get a lot easier once they reach five years old. Wink

Eliza think how many people see an ENT consultant for all kinds of vague symptoms. It's perfectly reasonable for you to get a referral, your GP is being an arse.

Good luck YW, it sounds like you're being well looked after but I'm sure it's still nervewracking for you and Mr Wellies.

misslaughalot · 16/09/2014 22:07

Oooh YW exciting! But also, nooooooooo! If you pop then I'm next (31+4 today) and I'm not ready, no, no, not at all!

Glad you got the referral Eliza, but how unprofessional of your doctor to include their own thoughts about you in it. Do you know when your referral appt will be?

Kyz we are beginning the descent into tantrum territory here, they've only started recently so I'm sure they'll get worse. Need to refine my strategy for dealing with them.

PetiteRaleuse · 16/09/2014 22:23

eliza your Dr shouldn't write shit like that Angry

yw will be thinking of you tonight, must be pretty stressful. You're in the right place :)

Passmethecrisps · 16/09/2014 22:27

Ok so I have one set of fingers crossed for either a peaceful night for family wellies or one of wonderful excitement and the other set crossed for jim's cleaner! My god woman? If you don't get a cleaner tomorrow I am coming down there to do it myself!

The letter sounds mega shit eliza but as you say it is its existence which matters more than the content. I hope it moves things along for you all.

I know I am late to the conversation but I think you are right qm in your decision to keep the kids at a distance at this time. I didn't go to see my granny immediately prior to her death and I was in my twenties. I felt dreadful at the time (I lived 150 miles away and she could have gone on weeks) but it would have benefited no one. I will be thinking of you all though. I do feel for your DH.

P was on very good sorts today first time for a couple of weeks. I think she is over her stinky cold which is a relief. CM's wee girl met us at the door this morning with "hello! Are you going to be whiney all day again?" Out of the mouths of babes!! They are the most patient family ever and even they have been tested!

She has also been practicing her tut eye-roll at them as well. I did laugh at the fucking fours jims! Good news Grin

Passmethecrisps · 16/09/2014 22:29

Oh and thank you for your concern lovely kyz. I was back at work today and despite being slightly weak of voice (which the kids LOVE "what was that, mrs passme? Eh? Stop whispering!!") and I much improved.

Elizadoesdolittle · 16/09/2014 22:57

I showed DH the letter and he saw my point of view but said it isn't that bad so I think I may be reading more into it.

The last paragraph says "although E is being seen by Dr .... and has a follow up appt in Nov, mum is concerned about the cause of E's eating problems. She is worried that there maybe an ENT related problem. I have reassured her, however I would appreciate your expert advice and opinion".

Actually doesn't sound that bad. Perhaps I was getting het up about not much. I think it was that coupled with her dismissive attitude that got to me. She pretty much said she wouldn't give me an NHS referral.

No idea when appt will be. I now have to call Bupa to get a pre authorisation number before I can contact a consultant (doing it through DH work private health care that E is added onto).

Night all. yw I hope you get some rest x

BigPigLittlePig · 16/09/2014 23:14

Oh oh I forgot to have a teeny tiny boast. Today F said, "daddy daddy, there's a big bus" which is a gazillion word sentence or close enough

As you were Blush

PetiteRaleuse · 16/09/2014 23:37

That doesn't sound too bad eliza

Netflix will be my undoing. I have a setting up business course tomorrow morning. I need to sleep. Does one get used toall this choice? For pennies?

That is a sentence piggie well done F!

GTbaby · 16/09/2014 23:50

Grin Yw. I was kept in after a routine app and fh didn't get all my stuff first time. Lucky you are organised. (It was my 38week app when I was 38+5 so it's my own fault. )
But very excited.

Pr netflixs has kept me up too many nights. Enjoy!

I must go the fuck to sleep now.

Lily311 · 17/09/2014 03:51

Zamboni · 17/09/2014 07:28

Thinking of you YW, hope all going well!

misslaughalot · 17/09/2014 07:52

Just popping in to see if there's an update from YW, hope you got some rest last night x

Wandathewindfairy · 17/09/2014 08:11

yw two things......if you can hold off till tomorrow mini mini wellies will be born on such a major day in history which would be a bit special. Also.....if you are in hosp how will you vote? In fact how to people in hosp vote full stop?

I wish more mornings could be lie, this morning(apart from the fact DH had to leave for his flight at 03:15) my alarm went off at 6:30 and the boys were snoozing. I actually managed to:

Get dressed
Put on some slap
Tickle my hair
Empty the dishwasher
Set the table and get the milk all ready to warm

WHAT???? I hear you cry.

I know.

Perfect start to the day and the wind is wooing and the leaves are rustling and now the boys are QUIETLY watching Mike The
Night all dressed and ready for the day.

Someone stole my life and switched it. Where is the chaos?

Wandathewindfairy · 17/09/2014 08:11

Although actually I am laying bets we already have a mini mini wellies as all has been quiet on that front.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 17/09/2014 08:42

Took me ages to find you. The mobile site looks all funny. Will catch up at some point.... Hopefully. Need to find the Christmas bargain thread too as I will be shopping from my bed!

Pikz · 17/09/2014 08:45

I think so too wanda. If my own breech experience was anything to go by. Once I was having contractions and dilating then it was off to theatre!

So excited Grin

Elizadoesdolittle · 17/09/2014 10:47

Good news. Bupa have agreed to cover a consultation with one of the top consultants at GOSH!! So bloody pleased.

Got to run but thoughts are with yw xx

Pikz · 17/09/2014 11:05

Eliza that is awesome news Grin
