PTA. Parent teacher association.

Over here it is the APE. Association des Parents d'Eleves.

I'll go ape I reckon if there is no wine at their Friday night meeting Grin

BigPigLittlePig · 09/10/2014 21:07

We have an automatic. It's great, but deffo the lazy mans car, as it has automatic lights, wipers, gears...bit of a shock to go back to driving our S reg manual, where the front bumper is held on with gaffer tape...

PR that sounds awful hahahahahahahaha I'm sure it will be organised chaos fine.

YW funny boy! F gets quite possessive over the old baby kit, not sure how she'd react to a baby in "her" chair.

Erm...I passed my exam. So get some extra letters after my name Grin

PetiteRaleuse · 09/10/2014 21:10

Well done piggy am proud of you!

Passmethecrisps · 09/10/2014 21:18

Brilliant news bp! Hooray!!

Highest gear possible because lower gears have higher revs which could cause skids. I have skidded in the ice and as much as your head says "steer in to the skid" every muscle in your body says otherwise. The coppers and recovery driver both told me that in the conditions I was in I could have steered to the moon and it would have made no difference. Either starting in second or not in gear at all but slowly releasing the clutch allows the car to creep forward without causing too much spin on the tyres.

Driving a rear wheel drive across Central Scotland means I am well versed in this in theoretical terms

PetiteRaleuse · 09/10/2014 21:25

Have to admit snow tyres help. Which reminds me. Must get my tyres switched. It's time.

Passmethecrisps · 09/10/2014 21:31

Yup! I have all weather tyres.

rooty you sound stuck between a rock and a hard place and this must be so hard. Whatever happens I hope you can rely on us for support and a listening ear

Passmethecrisps · 09/10/2014 21:45

Today I overheard this convo in class

"Aye, he pure ripped his rectum!"

"Aw nuht!"

"Naw, it wasnae his rectum, it wiz his scrotum"

"Same hing?"

"Aye. Ah think so. . . . Rectum, scrotum. Sound the same"

"Ah dinnae hink so"

"Mrs passme, where's yer scrotum?"

To which I explained that I didn't have one bit they did and it was their ballsack.

"Yeh whit? He ripped his baw sack??!?!?"

Cue mass hysteria.

This was a skateboarding incident apparently. Fair warning to any skateboarders with scrotums

BigPigLittlePig · 09/10/2014 21:54

Elizadoesdolittle · 09/10/2014 22:29

rootypig · 10/10/2014 02:58

Thanks all. You are such a lovely quiche Grin

Donna it is sunny. It was sunny yesterday, it was sunny today, it will be sunny tomorrow

Pikz · 10/10/2014 07:08

Well done piggy Grin

Am tired this morning and read PRs description of the association of elves and thought oooh must sign L up Blush

itsnotyouitsMeals · 10/10/2014 11:51

So sorry it's been so tough rootypig. Hope you can get a plan sorted for you both.

Lurk here but active on FB. So hi to all.

Zamboni · 10/10/2014 14:10

Hey meals - I am often more of a lurker these days as I manage to keep up just about but rarely have time to do an epic Kyz-stylee post and chat to everyone. Plus I only ever have the same boring old things to say about how busy I am.

rooty sounds like uou have had a really tough time. Lots of sympathy here. I have no advice but hope you will keep talking if you need to Flowers

BPLP squeeeeeeee and Wine to you - fantastic news!

Pikz has the vom now fucked the fuck off from your poor household?

PR am very impressed for such enthusiastic joining in!

Pass that is hilarious. The dialect is really appreciated because I now read it in something approximating how it would have sounded!

eliza glad you got checked out.

Kyz how are you feeling? Any more nasuea?

Hope all well in the world of toddler + cluster feeding newborn chez household YW. It amazed me how much DD enjoyed playing with all the baby stuff. When the jungle gym came back out for S, she was often found under it. in fact once she pushed him out from under it so she could star-gaze herself!

Izzy - how are you feeling? I really do hope you are all getting some rest. Big hugs.

wanda hope the new timetabling helps you out. You sound so busy!

stunt very worrying to have such news, hope things are ok and there is a new opportunity which works for you all in your future.

Looking forward to QM getting some internet and coming back to say hi. Flowers QM.

How are things going now Donna? And same to GT, how are things with you?

Is O enjoying nursery lily?

Jims how did first ever parents evening go?

Has anyone else had a birthday yet? Is YW's J next?

So here I am super busy at work (of course) and S still finds bedtime a somewhat challenging part of the day. We have rearranged the bedrooms so his bedroom includes a double bed - much like DD at the same age he wants to be with a parent and so if he has got to sleep with someone we figure if he does it in his own room and gets used to being there, we can gradually retreat until he is basically alone. DD has gone into her big girl's room (which is actually the small bedroom), bribed coaxed into it by a Frozen theme. And I said I would never do that!! Haha. But FX the new system starts to work.

We also have turned our conservatory from a room of junk into a proper playroom with a little reading corner and they both love it. To do that we rejigged the kitchen and now need to buy a new fridge freezer and I am desperate for a big shiny red one. We have no red appliances, our kitchen is super boring white appliances, birch wooden cupboards and black granite work surfaces. The red just seems fun I really wanted lime green but that was oodles more cash rather than the tenuously justifiable extra for the red one.

And I have started to arrange visits to primary schools for DD who will start next year Shock.

Have lovely weekends quiche!

Elizadoesdolittle · 10/10/2014 15:56

bought my new car today :-) or I should say DH bought me a new car today! Went for a manual in the end but is top spec and I got wooed by the panoramic glass roof and gadgets. Picking it up next week.

In non car news, E's latest answer to everything is "no I'm not". Me: E you're tired. E: no I'm not. Me: E you are all snotty. E: no I'm not. You get the gist. Is cute but slightly infuriating at the same time.

PetiteRaleuse · 10/10/2014 16:06

I think next birthdays are gt 's H on the 15th/16th (?) then my LO on the 19th. I think then We have yw followed by qm. I'm missing someone though. Was it nervous at20 who had a baby on the 19th too?

After yw we have qm and then horsey and jupiter. But can't remember exact dates and order.

There must be other October babies...

izzybizzybuzzybees · 10/10/2014 18:16

My little Halloween terror too :)

PetiteRaleuse · 10/10/2014 18:39

Knew I was missing some :)

DH out tonight. I really really really want the girls to go to be at a decent time so have turned the heating up so that I can snuggle on the sofa with a trashy novel I found on my shelves. Or an episode of greys.

I will also open a bottle of wine and my bread bag from this morning and my cheese drawer in the fridge.

But I need the kids safe in bed first. I have hardly slept this week and I really need to relax. And I think an evening on the sofa on my own would be perfect.

Will have to turn down the heating though. Am boiling

Elizadoesdolittle · 10/10/2014 19:47

Jesus christ pr How do you remember these things? Hope you get your evening on the sofa. You deserve it.

BigPigLittlePig · 10/10/2014 20:01

Eliza I think it's the spreadsheet...

Kyz · 10/10/2014 20:05

Evening everybuddy! Poor Jarvis has been coughing a bit this morning and one of my cats choked to death a couple of years back so it's one of those things that gets me paranoid. Anyway JJ went to the vets and has had a couple of injections, it's most likely a hairball but possibly an upper respiratory infection. He's right as rain of course, pouncing on me whilst i'm trying to type!

See I would've thought i'd prefer an automatic because I don't like to drive and would prefer less things to worry about! I do wonder if it's because I was very new to driving at the time - my mum is probably getting an automatic for her next car so i'll get to drive one again soon hopefully.

thanks pr, I like APE better ;)

YAY BP I knew you'd do it :D Congrats!

Lol pass that's brilliant!! The convo I mean

hi meals :)

wow zamboni an epic post! good stuff! Sickness is laying off on occasion but if i'm hungry i feel as sick as a dog! I worry if I don't feel sick when I think I should probably just feel grateful lol! good luck with your new bed time system thingy :) fx A red fridge freezer sounds ace, I also want a red one, I have a red cooker :) Red everything, actually, the kitchen is god awful but when I paint it it will have plain walls and everything red. And black worktop with nice wooden cupboard doors. One day

oooh eliza sounds like a scrummy shiny new car! and LOL at e!

Can't think of any more birthdays, was gonna say izzys j but she beat me to it!

hope you have a nice evening pr :) Are the girls in bed yet?

PetiteRaleuse · 10/10/2014 20:25

eliza it is not just the spreadsheet. :o

I followed the October births quite closely. Then sleeplessness took over.

I do have a spreadsheet though for secret santa with birthdays in case of personalised gifts. I'd share it but it has last year's senders and receivers on there.

Wandathewindfairy · 10/10/2014 20:25

Tell me about bread bags. I understand they are better than bread bins?

PetiteRaleuse · 10/10/2014 20:25

And no. The girls are not In bed. They are screaming hysterically on the sofa.
