isles my DD1 just told me I'm a horrible mummy too so they don't get any better with age I'm afraid.

PetiteRaleuse · 26/09/2014 19:56

Horrible mummy here too :)

Kyz · 26/09/2014 20:38

Evening all! I'm off to bed shortly as i'm shattered, but wanted to post and say hai!

Fruit wow that's an early start :| I thought 6:30 this morning was bad! Hope you get a fab lie in tomorrow to compensate

weekend plans lily include either a trip to a local nature reserve tomorrow if dp is up early enough or a trip to the steam train station we have here, e loves a good steam train :) then we might nip to the car boot sunday and to the park and library. Nothing exciting but e will especially love the trains! Need to nip shopping too at some point.

The northern lights trilogy is on my to-read list. I recently read how to be a woman by caitlyn moran (thanks YW!) and loved it! I'm on some serial killer type thing atm, got another two in the series to go and then i may get round to the northern lights trilogy

awww yw that sounds adorable! Glad she's doing fab after the tt snip :) bless her

that's a gorgeous house isles

Judging by the stuff i get from e (he tries to slap me, screams at me, throws himself/things on the floor etc) i'm pretty sure i'm considered a horrible mummy too. Do you know what I dared to be guilty of today?? Today I wouldn't put planes on for the seventh time, after swapping that and cars over in the dvd player every 5 minutes because he couldn't decide what to watch. I think I am banning tv for the forseeable. I wouldn't mind but I just needed to get some housework done, that's all! Gah!

Passmethecrisps · 26/09/2014 20:39

Evening all!

I so love reading about the beautiful new quiche addition. It sounds like everyone is coping wonderfully and that the bear is shaping up to be a fantastic big brother.

Weekend wise p and I are heading down to my parents for the night tomorrow as DH has so much work to do. It will be lovely to see them but I must admit that I can't really be bothered with the drive. It will be fine when we get there.

Defo not as exciting as a baby disco! Or as worthy as running

Tonight p announced that she needed a poo and wanted potty. By the time we got up the stairs she had done it but we went through the motions with the potty while I flushed the nappy poo. She then ran around "free balling" before settling on her chair with a book while I ran her bath. DH and I were both brought running by her screaming blue murder. She had done the most enormous, massive poo on the chair - apparently completely without her knowledge. Honestly, this thing was huge. I would have raised an eyebrow at me doing one that size.

We also had 'saur panic at nursery. I didn't think to mention the dinosaur fear to them as I was sure it was no big thing. It seems that it is after two wee boys running around with plastic dinosaurs raaaring each other left her a quivering, sobbing mess. She was such a state that her key worker says she will hide all the dinosaurs on a Friday.

and!! She has learned "I like that!" Which is lovely after so long of "no like!"

Wonder how out lovely qm is getting on?

Passmethecrisps · 26/09/2014 20:44

Oh and the book chat is good. I was such an enthusiastic reader pre-p but I have never regained the momentum. I do get stuck in a rut as well as I tend to stick to crime thrillers like jo Nesbo or ian rankin. These are great but during the school holidays I used to challenge myself a bit more with the genre.

I would be up for some recommendations

Pikz · 26/09/2014 20:44

Also loving quiche new addition news! Beautiful family

Pass am Shock at poo. Bless her.

This weekend we are off to the country park with a steam train and farm plus ten ton of tractors. Basically L heaven with a massive sand pit and water

YellowWellies · 26/09/2014 20:47

No need for the billi lights so we might even get home tomorrow. SHIT!!!! Then it becomes real! Shock

YellowWellies · 26/09/2014 20:52

Oh and before you all go into new baby nostalgia overload from my endless witterings.... I am now at that terrifying stage where I think I need my first post baby poo. Argh. Am psyching myself up Confused

BigPigLittlePig · 26/09/2014 20:54

[thumbs up] and [waaaaaaaaaah] yw Shock Grin

BigPigLittlePig · 26/09/2014 20:55

Ha, those comments applied just as well to your 2nd post Grin

QuicheMama · 26/09/2014 20:58

Fucking boxes! Fucking removals! Fuckety Fuck Fuck.

Still have not got a date for move. Have put my start date back to 6/10. Head up arse.

I want another baby

Elizadoesdolittle · 26/09/2014 21:07

pass I bet P would bloody love the baby disco but sounds like you have one pretty much everyday in your house. Will try and remember to take a video.

Re books I have read some good ones lately but have all been of the crime or chick lit genre. Can only handle easy to read mush at the moment. Next on my list to read is the new Ken Follet one, edge of eternity. I've downloaded it to my kindle and finished reading a book last night so looking forward to getting stuck into it. It's the last in the century trilogy and I really enjoyed the other 2. Especially the 2nd one. They are both under £2 each on amazon.

yw fingers crossed you get home tomorrow.

BigPigLittlePig · 26/09/2014 21:08

Do it do it do it

Hiya qm. What's the limiting factor wrt the move? Have also beem wondering how things are with you and yours.

I should go to sleep. Have struggled this week wih nights, and sleep - loads of vivid dreams (Det was in one) and very broken sleep too. Am a grumpy cow as a consequence.

Elizadoesdolittle · 26/09/2014 21:17

Oh qm Sad

And pass you've reminded me about E's poo incident yesterday. She wanted to go on the toilet before her bath. She did a "windy popper" said finished and got in the bath. Then played around saying "swim swim" and I looked in and there she was pretending to swim surrounded by poo! She normally asks to go to the toilet after she has been so at least she got it the right way round I guess.

Passmethecrisps · 26/09/2014 21:20

I tearfully and drunkenly told DH I wanted another baby last weekend

I have no doubt out missy would love a disco. Please take a vid!!

bp I would be totally unhinged on the hours you work. I think you are allowed to be a bit grumpy.

Is it the house causing the delay qm?

izzybizzybuzzybees · 26/09/2014 21:23

yw I'd imagine no episiotomy would help with post birth pooing.... I've never had a section so don't know. However I had serious poo issues this week and not only did my tummy wound hurt but the perineum stitches were horrendous... The worst of both worlds.

BigPigLittlePig · 26/09/2014 21:24

F won't wee on the potty now, since she did her surprise potty poo. She just sits on it, then bobs straight back up to check the potty contents, etc etc, before declaring to the empty potty "all done" and wandering off starkers.

Passmethecrisps · 26/09/2014 21:25

Oh yikes! Sounds awful.

I remember the first poo after p. I gently a cooled witch hazel pad against my stitches. I was very nervous but it was ok.

BigPigLittlePig · 26/09/2014 21:38

Gah F is awake, this was not the plan. Think she's getting a cold. She has learnt to blow her nose though, and does so v proudly, even when she doesn't need to.

Am nervously awaiting news from yw Grin

Pikz · 26/09/2014 21:41

YW poos after section are fine. The hard bit is lowering and lifting yourself off the loo!

YellowWellies · 26/09/2014 21:57

BP Lilly has been pretty much latched on since 7pm - she's trying to bring my milk in. Toilet trip is on hold until she nods off!

BigPigLittlePig · 26/09/2014 22:25

Go L!

PetiteRaleuse · 26/09/2014 22:31

Not having had a post vb poo I can't compare. I just remember post cs and dother surgery being really bunged up due to all the anaesthetic and not having moved around enough for however long. I took a cushion to the loo to hold over the wound. Tbf that cushion went everywhere. Used to feel like my entire abdomen was going to just fall out. Funny feeling. Everyone says stand up straight, but you don't feel like you actually can as everything might tip out. Grin then you do dare stand up straight and it actually helps.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 27/09/2014 00:32

pr walking with a pillow sounds sensible and is what I've been doing. I coughed without it a few days ago and thought I might burst open! Ugh. Stitches and operations are no fun at all. I'm bored on the house and have just spent a small fortune clothes and boot shopping for myself....not sure when I'll escape the house properly and wear the damn things tho!

fruitpastilles · 27/09/2014 07:14

Morning all!
How was your night out isles ?

Ha, no lie in here kyz never ever, S's usual wake up time is 5:50, oh actually today was 6 so I did get an extra 10 mins.

Ahh pass poor P being so scared.

There's a disco room at the new soft play that I take S too, she loves it on there. I've got a vid of her dancing in it, she loves it.... Need to cut off the first bit though, it's me and my friend discussing nappies haha.

eliza lol at windy popper!

I think I have blocked my first poo after S out as I have no memory of it.

S keeps telling me her teeth are hurting and asking for medicine. Now I have no problem giving her calpol if I genuinely think she needs it, but I think she's pulling my leg. But, she is teething so should I just give it anyway? She was asking this morning and did look like she needed it so she had some, but last night (and every night for the last week) she kept asking but I think it's just because she wanted me to keep going into her when she was in her cot. I don't want to give her it if she doesn't need it. Last night I just gave her 5ml so she'd had some and that seemed to satisfy her. Is that ok to do?
