Limp not limo! like lying on the floor at nursery, not wanting to play etc

mopsytop · 03/10/2014 18:20

Thanks for tip about asda seven!

Faffin · 03/10/2014 18:35

Sounds very similar mopsy. Pleased to hear mini m is well again now

Chipandspuds · 03/10/2014 19:28

I can't wait for birthdays and Christmas Grin I have an ideas list for DS, most of it is books, puzzles, marble run, dominos, orchard toy games and Lego.

Hope that miniFaffin is better soon. I'd try to encourage fluids as hopefully that might flush out whatever bug it is?

Potty training is still going well, no accidents at home but having 0-2 accidents per day at nursery, mainly I think because they're out in the garden and DS can't hold it long enough to get to the bathroom in time!

DS has been dry at nighttime for 10 nights in a row, this seems to have just happened naturally! Last night was his first night without a nappy and all went well so we've gone without tonight and fingers crossed!

Hope you're enjoying the Isle of Wight Oi

NorthernChinchilla · 03/10/2014 20:58

Which do you think is worse, the fact that owning to my mean mummy tendencies careful hoarding DS still has an Easter egg left over, or the fact I've just started nibbling it...?

TheOnlySeven · 03/10/2014 21:10

Both! :o

Faffin · 03/10/2014 21:33

I'm clearly meaner than you northern, my DC still have about three eggs each left. I realised the other day that some of them went out of date at the end of July (in theory) Blush I would have eaten them myself by now but the kids would notice!

QueenofClean1 · 03/10/2014 21:40

Thought I'd pop in and say hello quickly.

We are fully potty trained here day and night.

Having troubles with Darcie so have seen camhs again and hopefully the are going to fully assess her for a proper diagnosis.

I am 11 days post op, had both my tubes removed and endometrial ablation...so no more periods or babies in Chez Queen Grin

Am doing well on the xmas present front, also arranged a little birthday party for Sky too.

Have a good evening.

mopsytop · 03/10/2014 22:32

How strange Queen, I was thinking about you earlier as I posted and wondering how you were. I was thinking of you because we were discussing Christmas pressies and I was remembering how organised you always were, whereas I tend to be much more late about it all... glad to hear things are ok. Hopefully you can get a proper diagnosis and support for Darcie.

NorthernChinchilla · 03/10/2014 22:35

I'll report that to my Mum faffin, she thinks I'm a Disney villain for the fact DS still has Easter eggs not for much longer bwhaha ahahaa haha And yes, I'd wait it out and see what happens, Calpol and biscuits and sleep cures most things Smile

I've not had an evening in since Sunday Shock hence lack of posting- two days out on a residential FOI course, one night at A&E for DS (nothing serious, long story) and then another night at my Investigators' training. So glad it's the weekend, plan to sort out my birthday present and go to a plant fair, so glam here Wink

Firstly, seven, that's amazing about the amount of money you've raised, you can feel very proud of that. My only concern is for the state of the family knees, given the amount of running going on!

Lovely to see you Queen, glad you're doing well after the operation. Hope you're being fed peeled grapes at the very least. How're you doing yourself on the MH front?

OP posts:
TheOnlySeven · 04/10/2014 09:39

Thanks nothern, it's only DHs knees, I'm so not a runner. He's said next year will be his last marathon. He's decided the next thing is he wants to run 500 miles in 50 days, he knows it'll probably finish his knees off though as they're not brilliant now.

Good to see you queen, hope you're doing ok post-op :)

OiMissus · 04/10/2014 10:52

I also have one if Ali's Easter eggs left. I binned quite a few earlier. I couldn't be the complete evil villain, so one remained.
I may have to bin it too.
Glad to see you back, Queen. Hope you're ok.
I'm currently sailing into Southampton after my week on the IoW. What a fab week. Amazing weather! Until today.
It's a nice place. Some great beaches. I think I'll come back.
I've left Boi with the GPS. (Sniff)
...to spend the rest of the weekend with DH. I hope he's got his "positive" head on....

TheOnlySeven · 04/10/2014 20:54

Hope you haven't murdered him yet oi. Remind me why you're spending the weekend together?

Chipandspuds · 05/10/2014 18:15

Glad to see you Queen! Hope you're feeling better post op and remembering to out your feet up!

Eek! Our Easter eggs are long gone...finished in April! I'm very impressed that there are any left!

I've booked DS's birthday party for a couple of weeks after the actual day, got to pop in during the week to confirm and pay. I think it will be good fun, it's at a children's gym. I'm going for the 20 children option with 4 gym instructors taking them around the equipment and playing games with them. It's £135 in total and all I need to do is party bags and party boxes of food as they request the food is served in boxes as opposed to a buffet (I guess for speed and less cleaning up).

Does this sound fine for the party food boxes?

Drink carton
Sausage roll/vegetarian equivalent
Half a sandwich (cheese or ham)
Frube
Crisps or mini cheddar type things
Babybel cheese
Cupcake

I don't want to overdo the food as I know most 3 year olds don't eat lots, but don't want to be seen as tight either?! I know you'll all reassure me!

I don't usually plan this far ahead but with dc2 due end of Nov if I make a list now, I won't forget or go completely silly and do three times as much as needed nearer the time!

Chipandspuds · 05/10/2014 18:20

Oh and whilst I'm here...! Can I ask what books your DC are all into at the moment? I'm in need of some inspiration...DS is into Mr Men books, enjoys Julia Donaldson books, and The Tiger That Came to Tea, but seems to have outgrown some of his old favourites.

mopsytop · 05/10/2014 18:56

Sounds perfect to me Chip! Minimopsy loves Hairy McClary and two books called Aunt Amelia and Lunchtime but I can't recall the author and Supertato, also can't recall author, plus the Meg and Mog books.

mopsytop · 05/10/2014 19:45

Plus lots more of course, but would need to go check the authors and I'm too lazy!

Figster · 05/10/2014 20:11

Ds loves julia donaldson anything octonauts ive just ordered him a wreck it ralph book as he loves it our new hamster has been called Vanellope after one of the characters. My mum has got back from disneyland florida today and couldnt get a single Ralph thing in the main shops Blush overlooked gem of a movie there.

Chip agree food sounds fine ds would have no problem devouring that.

Dh been birding all day still not back took ds to softplay with a friend and her 5yo and we took another friends 7yo and 7mo gah all the kit you have to bring, the dribbling, the half chewed food Confused she was angel though. Her husband has dislocated his knee last week been in hospital since sunday nerve and ligament damage cant feel his left foot he is a big hockey player or was he's been told will never play sport again he is in a very black mood wont take visitors thought we could take the kids off her hands give her a break.

NorthernChinchilla · 05/10/2014 21:03

Lovely day today, went to Great Dixter for the plant fair, and went round the house and gardens as well. Bit of a pilgrimage for me, been wanting to go for ages, and when I saw there was a plant fair near my birthday there was no question Smile. Beautiful journey there too.
I've had the ridiculous ramp and random slate area removed from my garden, making it so much better for DS; that's going to be the present from all of my family (I'll just ask for contributions) and found the shears DP is getting me.
Do you detect a theme Grin?
Finishing off with a punishingly hot Nepalese curry with the United game recorded from earlier

That sounds bob on chip, I know DS would eat and enjoy all of that. On books, he likes the Mog series too, bit of Beatrix Potter, and there's two books- Don't be a Goop and What can you stack on the back of a Yak- which have also been faves on top of what everyone else has suggested.

How's the weekend gone Oi?

OP posts:
Faffin · 05/10/2014 21:57

Also agree the party food sounds great chip. Books DS likes in addition to those you mentioned are the Kipper books, Percy the Park keeper books, and his current favourite is Katie in London (it has a lion and marching soldiers which cannot be beaten in his mind!)

Aethelfleda · 05/10/2014 21:59

Mmmmm, curry.
I'm rather sad as one of my ex-uni friends died unexpectedly. She was a housemate for a while, I have several good friends who were still very close to her and it's rocked our community to lose her without warning. And v sobering. She will be very much missed. Bobbins.

Book wise chip, DS is into Buster Gets Dressed, Maisey Mouse, Bizzy Bear, anything with Thomas the Tank Engine. The Giant Jam Sandwich is fab fun, so is Knuffle Bunny. And Sing a Song of Bottoms. And The Large Family (Five minute's Peace, about how Mrs Large sneaks off for a bath, is priceless.)

OiMissus · 05/10/2014 23:35

Sorry about your friend, Aethel. Hmm
Gardening birthday congratulations, Northern! May you be blessed with blooms and bouquets a-plenty!
Books: we've just started ready through some winters books from last year's haul, Bella gets her skates on, Betty and the Yeti, wake up do Lydia Lou.
I really like Mr magnolia/angelica sprocket's pockets - and Ali did too for a while.
Anything Thomas related also.
And have dug out one of my huge fairy tale tomes, so we're reading about hansel and gretel, beauty and the beast, the ugly duckling etc. we're living that.
The weekend was not a huge success with DH.
It was ok. But he was negative, a bit, and whilst I mainly thought his company was ok, pleasant enough, I wasn't drawn to him. Bit it was fine. We laughed and mainly enjoyed each other's company. Shame there was nothing more.
So, you asked why we were spending the weekend together... It's sad that our marriage has ended, it's sad that I see Boi less, I wonder if this time apart could teach us how to be together.

mopsytop · 06/10/2014 07:28

Sorry to hear about your friend aethel.

TheOnlySeven · 06/10/2014 09:58

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend aethel, it really is very sobering. My SIL recently lost her brother in a work accident, a dad of 5 in his early 30's :(

oi sorry to hear the weekend wasnt as good as you'd hoped.

Figster · 06/10/2014 20:04

A chap at works wife and newborn baby died over the weekend how do you survive something like that? Hmm he has to for their 4yo but how horrific!!
