Ahh I desperately want to redecorate DS's room but will most likely wait until next year when the baby moves in with him and we know whether we have another boy or a girl! Envious of those of you DIYing!

DS's nursery is much better with the potty training now and he's having 2-4 accidents a day at nursery but he's also telling me that he's reading books on the potty and his key worker is singing songs when he washes his hands etc so I'm glad I had a chat with them!

He's been dry overnight for the last 4 nights in a row though so definitely got bladder control! Today is day 7 and he has done really well, told me he needed a wee this morning, DH was in the bathroom and it was my turn for a lie in but DS banged the door and called me and said he needed a wee and did one on the potty. He's asked lots of times today to sit on the potty and produced zilch then we got home at 8.30pm late after a day out and he was in bed with a nappy on and said he needed a wee so I said "you can do it in your nappy" and he said "no I want to wee in my potty" so I ran and got the potty and then he did a wee and a poo! Smile Hopefully tomorrow will be another accident free day! I'm going to treat him to a bottle of squash tomorrow though as he needs to wee more he's done just two wees and one poo all day today!

OiMissus · 28/09/2014 12:50

Yes, I'm still set on that fireplace.
It will be mine. Just not yet. Until I get lottery funding. Smile
The only room I have decorated was boi's.

mopsytop · 28/09/2014 17:22

Curtains look great! actually very subtle in reality but make the room look SO much better. They look really expensive. Amazing the difference they make actually.

Aethelfleda · 29/09/2014 09:02

Morning! Hope good weekends were had. I have a light work week so Operation House Tidy and Paperwork is going to commence... dS was really happy to go to nursery today so I will be productive for a few hours at least...

Chipandspuds · 29/09/2014 16:59

Having a funny day today, DS was up in the night 5 times last night including once with a nosebleed, DH got up for that one and didn't tell me so this morning I changed the bed sheets and put them in the washing machine. Then the bloody sink started backing up as there's some sort of blockage - I have no idea how this has happened as I'm really careful what I let go down the sink and regularly put washing up liquid and hot water down there (as advised by a plumber) to prevent any build up of grease/fat. So went to shops and the sink unblocker I bought has done absolutely nothing and I've got a washing machine full of sopping wet stinking bedclothes as the water couldn't rinse out of the machine.

On the positive side DS has managed 4 wees and 1 poo in the potty today and asked to sit on the potty each time! Thank goodness as I can't get anything cleaned until the sink is unblocked! DH said he'd have a go at fixing it tonight and if he can't sort it he will ring British Gas Homecare and get them out.

In the meantime I've found a laundrette near my work so I may well be popping in there!

Hoping DS can carry on doing this well at nursery tomorrow, but if not I'm back down to my normal 3 days a week!

mopsytop · 30/09/2014 09:10

Nice work mini chip! Hope you get your plumbing issues sorted soon ... no washing machine is such a pain Sad

OiMissus · 30/09/2014 21:34

I'm in the Isle of Wight! I've never been here before. I wasn't expecting to be here until tomorrow, but we came yesterday. Smile
The Boi has evaded the pox. Thus far. He had loose nappies at weekend, so i knew the cm wouldn't have him. But the gps are on holiday (cottage in IoW). I was thinking of driving down on Wednesday.
So I checked if they had wifi. Grin If the Childcare goes on holiday, the child follows!
Today I worked whilst they went to the zoo and the beach. EnvyEnvyEnvyEnvy
Gorgeous weather!
I'll drive home on Saturday and leave Boi here so me and DH will have the weekend together. We're invited to a wedding reception on Saturday, and in Sunday have tickets to TEDx Salford, which we've done for the past 2 years.
It's a bridge Builfing exercise. Can we be together again?
After Sunday, grrrrr! I doubt it! We had said we'd all spend the day together as a family, but then he didn't answer his phone, and turned up at mine after 4pm!!!!!!!!!! It seems the Ryder Cup was quite interesting. What an ignorant b£&@&£d.
Stupid idiot.
Anyway, I'm in the IoW, and have Martini.
(Oh bob, but the wifi is shit! It's so slow. I have videos to edit. Not good!!! Impossible! ConfusedConfusedConfused)

NorthernChinchilla · 30/09/2014 21:47

God chip that sounds a total nightmare, are you any closer to getting it sorted? And wonder what caused those nosebleeds....
Like you Oi I'm away from home, on a training course just outside Portsmouth with another colleague, thankfully one who's a good friend. We managed to fit in a trip round a castle before dinner Smile !
Garden work is finished and shelving nearly done, so am a very happy woman-garden looks FAB from the pics.

We have a man coming out to look at the sink this morning between 8-9am hooray! Thankfully DS was accident free at nursery all day yesterday and managed 7 wees in the potty - I think he's enjoying the praise and stickers so much that he's just squeezing out wees as often as possible Hmm

DS managed his first wee outside yesterday for those of you not on Facebook and reading my panicky 'argh what do I do with the contents' post Grin DH's train was delayed, turned out to be 1hr 15 mins late. So glad I had some cartoons downloaded onto my phone already and a book in my bag!

I'm reading Gone Girl, so far so good!

If you get the chance Oi I've been told Seaview animal park is excellent for kids! Hope the weather stays good for you!

Figster · 01/10/2014 08:25

Chip I loved that book trying to work out babysitting options so can go see it I hear they've changed the ending interested to see what that means. Good work ds on potty work

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 01/10/2014 09:59

I started reading that but just couldn't get on with it. Am reading We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves for my book club this month. So far I'm just not loving it, hope it gets better.

Oi have fun in IoW, and hope you have a nice weekend with DH. Fingers crossed for no pox.

Chip huge boo to blocked drains, such a pain in the arse.

Faffin · 01/10/2014 10:04

Well done to mini chip on the potty action, and well done chip for taking entertainments in the car. DH got stuck on that same train line last night. I would recommend the potette potty with its disposable absorbent liners! Oh, and I loved Gone Girl too

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 01/10/2014 10:50

Yes, the potette is fab.

Figster · 01/10/2014 13:01

I was going to avoid the travel potty stage but might have to get one so we can crack on with getting him trained, he can be in house all day no accidents but not taken him out yet. Have a couple of quieter weekends coming up maybe it is time!!

I got Queen tickets today for the 02 it is on my bday in Jan so weekend away woo (appreciate it isnt really queen since there is only 2 of them left but still mega excited!!!) Helps me forget about the holdiday disaster.

mopsytop · 01/10/2014 13:57

Queen ... exciting figgy!

We have the potette too, can recommend. Minimopsy has only had two wee accidents in 10 days of potty training ... waiting until she suggested it herself was clearly the right move. Still in nappies at night though and they are still.plenty full in the morning. Do you just wait until they are fairly dry at night to stop the nappies or how does it work?

TheOnlySeven · 01/10/2014 14:30

mopsy its certainly easiest at night to wait until they're mostly dry.

oi hope the weekend with DH goes ok.

Yay for potty training. I've started actually potty training DD1. She's worn knickers in the house for months (her request) and is reliably dry, but she always tells us when she wants a nappy on when she needs a poo. She's constistent in knowing when she needs to go and never accidentally does it in her knickers so it's clearly time for actual potty training, except she's always adamant she doesn't want to poo on the potty, and is horribly stubborn. She hasn't poo'd for 2.5 days now Hmm

Those of you who aren't friends with me on Facebook, I had an email from MDC yesterday, I had asked for a total of how much we've raised as I haven't kept records of everything. Altogether it's just over £25,000!!

OiMissus · 01/10/2014 21:17

We're staying in Seaview, so a walk to the Wildlife Encounter is on the cards.
I have also been reading "we are all completely beside ourselves", ...I'd probably get on better with it if I made time.

mopsytop · 03/10/2014 08:16

Are you having fun Ou? Any sign of the dreaded pox?

mopsytop · 03/10/2014 08:17

Oi

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 03/10/2014 08:39

Come to book club oi?

Figster · 03/10/2014 13:41

Gah another Friday at swimming another relentless meltdown over nothing requiring me to remove him from poolside as he wouldn't get out at the end him screaming at the wall refusing to let me Change him hitting and generally making an almighty din we having one of these most days my lovely little boy is turning into a monster even his cm has raised it as he's been bothering other kids kicking them shouting at her Hmm

Faffin · 03/10/2014 17:41

DS seems to have a strange illness. On tues nursery called to say he wasn't himself, had been crying and had then fallen asleep (which he never does). They'd had some sickness in the room and were worried he was getting the same bug. After a little nap he was fine though. He was also fine tues eve and weds morn so he went in to nursery weds too. Same thing happened. Yesterday at home he was fine in the morning but at lunchtime he suddenly had no appetite, went all pale, then started crying and clinging and asked to go to bed. Slept 1.5 hours in afternoon and was a bit better afterwards, then asked to go to bed 6.30pm and slept through until morning. Has been ok all day today and I just had a quiet day playing at home with him. Then just before tea the same thing happened - asked me not to make him any, went all pale and sleepy, then crying and clinging and asked to go to bed half an hour ago. No temp, no sickness or diarrhoea. All a bit odd. Seeking some reassurance that I'm doing the right thing by just waiting for whatever it is to leave his system!

TheOnlySeven · 03/10/2014 18:02

faffin sorry to hear he's not well, I really wouldn't have thought there's anything you can do if there's nothing obviously wrong though. Hope he perks up soon.

figgy sympathies on the tantruming, DD1 has a truly horrible temper which she gets from me. I've always said she's like the little girl in the nursery rhyme, when she's good she's very very good, but when she's bad she's horrid.

Has anyone started thinking about birthday or Christmas presents yet? And how the hell will they be 3 btw?! Asda have some lovely very affordable wooden toys, I bought DD1 a wooden dolls pram for £25, the dolls house and deluxe kitchen are also lovely. They've also got Disney/Pixar DVDs 2 for £13, plus I got a Peppa pig annual which I'll probably regret.

Faffin · 03/10/2014 18:10

Thanks seven. Yes, have DS birthday and Christmas for both DC pretty much sorted already. Then just everyone else to worry about. Really excited to see DS open his Christmas presents. Shame I have to wait so long to see it. Damn me and my organisation! He loves what he calls marching soldiers (royal guards with buzby's). Got some playmobil ones of those along with wooden blocks with various castle shapes and designs, because he's also quite obsessed with blocks at the moment!

mopsytop · 03/10/2014 18:19

Minimopsy was a bit like that earlier in week faffin... fell asleep at dinner at nursery (never does that) and all limo and low and tired. Grand again now. I've been feeling faint and off too. Might be a similar bug?

Aagghh Christmas and birthday presents ... already? seriously? the thought had not even yet entered the outer realms of my consciousness!
