Welcome back aethel everyone has this lurgy it's terrible!!

Ds is watching the incredibles I didn't think he would be interested but it's holding his attention unexpectedly.

We've been out to slimbridge again lots of ducks, geese, swans ds held a toad and a salamander at the show and tell and dissected owl poo ....lovely!!

I've had a look on the conception boards those ladies are scary hard core I think I shall restart my casual efforts like last time and hope For the best.

NorthernChinchilla · 01/02/2015 20:19

They are figster and more acronyms that anywhere else on MN, or in real life; they're worse than coppers, and that's saying something!

Friday's comment shows why I am not, and should never be, a doctor, as I have in fact got a BFP Blush. Thought I'd just check on Saturday morning and there was a line, albeit a bit faint; the one this morning was very very clear. For extra humour, the due date is my birthday Confused

Feel very lucky that it's happened again, now I just have to get my head round it. Very early days, clearly, so will just see what happens.

Good to see you back aethel, absolutely everyone has had the lurgy this month, it's been ridiculous. Hope your DH survives.... Grin

Woooooo northern!!!! Congratulations was that month 1 of trying??

mopsytop · 01/02/2015 21:20

Yay Northern! Wow exactly timed as you'd planned it. Amazing! Congratulations!

NorthernChinchilla · 01/02/2015 22:09

Yep, timing exactly as with DS, one month of trying and to schedule. I'm really surprised, given the problems we've had in my family.

Not planning to tell anyone in RL, but we'll have to let DP's best mate know, as DP won't be going abroad for his wedding. So kind of feel we should mention it to the parents... God knows.

So now it's eight months of sober worrying, yay! Hope I get a chilled one like mopsyboy Smile

Oh, and please do mentally insert quotation marks round the word schedule; pure luck has made me seem frightfully organised, like I have an alphabetised filing regime for my ovaries or something Grin

We were the same Northern. Just incredibly fortunate when you consider what mAny people have to go through.

Faffin · 02/02/2015 10:22

Congratulations northern, lovely news.

We were the same with DS. One crack at it and there he was! Took me a while to get my head around it because I hadn't been expecting it to happen so quickly.

Figster · 02/02/2015 11:49

Northern I am hoping it is quick too as if not pg in next 2 months we stopping to avoid a late December baby again and I think if we stop we might not start again as all the sensible thoughts telling me to stick with ds will win plus he's being a defiant obstinant little beast at the moment and is putting dh off another.

NorthernChinchilla · 02/02/2015 13:21

Cheers all. I have been totally the same, couldn't get my head round it for ages with DS, and it's not sunk in now. Do feel very fortunate; my immediate family is very small, in the main down to pregnancy and childbirth issues.

One thing for your DH figster is that this is peak toddler defiance age; lots of people seem to report that 4 onwards it's loads better (and I am certainly banking on that!) Our DSs seem very similar, and though we'll never change their personalities, I'm hoping for improvement with age.
Will cross everything that it happens soon. Smile

Just coming home from meeting in London, having the rest of the afternoon off (as I have built up so much overtime) to do jobs. This does not seem fair! Grin

Figster · 03/02/2015 14:50

Hmm ds has stopped eating can't tell if it's a hangover from the bad banana on Friday giving him a sore tummy still or if he's unwell with something new.

NorthernChinchilla · 03/02/2015 20:51

What was the bad banana thing figster, did he eat a rotten one somehow? Hope it is that though, and it's not something new.

After DS didn't go to sleep til 9.30 last night we have agreed no naps with nursery. Hopefully it'll get us into a better routine, with decent bedtimes!

aethelfleda · 03/02/2015 22:19

ooh, congrats northern, hope it clings on alright (I am always antsy with early BFPs, but v happy for you!)

yawn. spent the evening wrangling kids to bed and nametaping pinafores.
Go me.

NorthernChinchilla · 04/02/2015 07:22

Yep, me too aethel. I won't bother calling Doc until 6 weeks, and won't tell family til 7-8. Got to take the view that the odds are in my favour, and what will be will be, etc. But am dead excited at the same time Grin

Figster · 04/02/2015 08:14

Northern he was unwell Friday not sick or anything but slept in day wouldn't eat and was moaning about feeling poorly he had had a big rather green banana in the morning which when I opened it was like stripping bark from a tree the skin was so thick .....so my fault really.

Early BFPs make it soooo long I knew about ds at 4 weeks it was a long 9 months!!

mopsytop · 04/02/2015 08:19

Yeah early BFPs make it very long. I knew at least a week before my period even due because I get such strong symptoms immediately ... Boobs go up two sizes and I get dizzy (happened with both pregnancies) so basically it means 8.5 months of waiting! Very much hope it sticks Northern

LordJabuJabu · 04/02/2015 09:14

Congrats Northen!!

I cancelled a night out because I had awful implantation cramps with dd, made that two week wait worse as I knew I was pg but dh thought I was mad!

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 04/02/2015 10:27

Congratulations Northern! New fred babies EVERYWHERE!

aethal how gloriously domestic of you.

Figgy hope he's all better soon.

Had pre-school parents evening last night, was lovely. Looked through DS's file, which goes back to when he started at 9 months, all his developments and observations, plus loads of pictures. We get to keep it when he leaves for school, which will be nice. He's settling in well and we seem to have got back on track with the potty/toilet. Hardly any accidents in the past week and he's been taking himself off to the toilet (including hand washing) all on his own! DH is also teaching him how to do standing-up wees. Which is as messy as you would imagine. DS is also a bit less tantrum-y and less obnoxious of late, so I'm hoping it was the settling in to pre-school that was the issue.

Right, best go and do some work!

Figster · 04/02/2015 19:01

Oh no he's ill again bright red face temp fallen asleep on sofa and he's shaking occasionally whilst awake like a fe we nurofen has been deployed but he's never ill he's still saying his Tummy hurts don't see what dr would do Confused

NorthernChinchilla · 04/02/2015 21:56

Sounds definitely more like he's got a bug rather than it being banana related Figgy, so I wouldn't feel guilty. Keep on dosing him up, see what happens. Really hope he perks up.

And on weird food stuff, my DS is currently eating frozen bread, slices straight out of the freezer, as his favourite snack Confused. Little sod has a tendency to help himself and leave the freezer door open too!

I think the settling into preschool, straight after Xmas, has done for a few of our DCs hop, it's been a tough month. And the book thing is lovely isn't it, we took DS's up to my Mum's, she loved looking through it.

Skyped a friend tonight, the first thing she said to me was how knackered I look- and she has a 1 year old who's never slept more than 2-3 hours at a time! Think the tiredness is creeping in, and starting to show too...am yawning my head off.

Did you get the name tags done aethel, you wild and crazy thing? Wink

PartTimeProcrastinator · 05/02/2015 14:12

Congratulations Northern! and loving your DSs frozen snack habit, that's quite random.

Peaceful afternoon, after mega scream fest from DS at lunch time he cried for half an hour as he'd suddenly decided he'd chosen the wrong car at the shop (3 hours earlier) he'd been happily playing with it then sudden devastation that he needed to go back and change it. He is now asleep!

NorthernChinchilla · 06/02/2015 09:10

Ah, the random whims of toddlers Grin

Off to Hertfordshire to meet up with Dad then doing Devon and back Sat/Sun, and then returning from Hertfordshire on the Sunday too, so me and Dad can go and see my Gran. Going to be knackered after all that.
Hope all of your weekends are a bit more stationary! (Is that the right spelling, can never remember Grin )

DS has been tantrum central all morning. I'm on coffee number six (I think?) Too much shouting today. Think we're off out to the park in a bit, before I lose my mind.

Figster · 06/02/2015 13:35

I have a shitty day too had to send a work email should have taken 10 minutes three hours later it was finally sorted out of course the email is being sent to one of our MDs to facilitate a very important meeting which was missed. DS watched far too much TV meantime then I took into the doctors can after a week still he is very up-and-down not eating complaining about pains in is legs falling asleep in the daytime and saying tummy hurts. Saw our cm the doctors surgery she looked like death hope she's better by Monday Grin.

Nothing has been done the house is a tip ds missed his swimming i have more work to do tonight which I will do when DH's gone out to watch rugby today is the day from hell and I know eating through a packet of chocolate chip biscuits is not going to help me but it's making me feel better right now

Gah I definitely need to get pregnant I need a break from work Grin

Chips1999 · 06/02/2015 17:43

Sorry I've fallen off the thread again but hooray Northern!!! Congratulations, wonderful news Smile

Will try to read back and see how everyone's doing!

It's absolutely freezing here, I can't wait for warmer weather!
