ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 01/12/2014 08:57

Heading up north today, got news that DH's grandpa is in a bad way and not expected to stay with us much longer.

mopsytop · 01/12/2014 08:59

So. Labour was 5 3/4 hours start to end... Hugely, horribly, hideously, horrendously painful but quick at least! Only pushed maybe five times and he was out! I am so relieved he came before I had to be induced. My bp went a bit crazy during labour but is fine now but I still had to stay in for monitoring and need more bloods done to check those kidney markers. So goodness knows when I'll get home. Mopsyboy sleeping away! Not too bad a night at all. Other babies crying of course.

So relieved to have a 'normal' labour (in spite of having to be continuously monitored) and hours of skin to skim straight after birth and I got that first rush of love etc. After the awful traumatic time last time.

mopsytop · 01/12/2014 09:00

Sorry to hear your news hop Sad

LordJabuJabu · 01/12/2014 09:54

Sorry to hear your news hop, hope Dhs grandpa has all the family around him & is comfortable/pain free xx

mopsy, so glad you've had a positive birth! Hope you get home ASAP.

chips, toddler and newborn is so much easier than pregnant & toddler, I think I was walking on air for the first few weeks after ds2 arrived! Hope we both pop very soon (won't even mind if you go before me).

Hoping to exchange today so we can move next week, if not everything falls through & I get a new kitchen & sofas here!

Figster · 01/12/2014 14:49

Well my me day has resulted in ds not going to cm, me being pissed off with cm, trying to sort out alternative childcare tomorrow and sitting in softplay stuffing my face with chocolate goodness. Dh doesn't understand why I'm so upset this was my day I needed it after this weekend Hmm I feel miserable

Keep us updated mopsy

Figster · 01/12/2014 15:04

Oh and to add he is not ill he is not contagious he has 1 mark on his mouth which yes is likely to be his hand foot and mouth but dr said by now he wouldn't be contagious as last symptoms came through Thursday.

Am sat here watching little boys playing together look like siblings and ds scuttling along behind them wanting to play he needs a sibling dh has agree to try from next month fora couple months then we have to stop to avoid another December baby dh is adamant about that.

mopsytop · 01/12/2014 17:36

That really sucks about childminder figgy. I'd be well pissed off in your case. Esp on your 'me' day Sad Sad

NorthernChinchilla · 02/12/2014 10:33

Hope you've made it up in time hop, and that he's not in too much pain.

So pleased to hear the birth went well mopsy, although painful. Sounds like it's as good as you can get with childbirth! How're you both this morning?
And come on chips and LordJ Wink Two more by Xmas!

That's really annoying for you figster, you've had a pretty shirty week of it. So sorry about skunky Sad
We're also TTC as of this month, will chuck the pills in the bin about half way through and see what happens. We can start Operation Sibling together....Wink

Oooh northern exciting!! We figure if start jan after have had AF then anytime we might get pg after that is fine as take into account 9mo pg and then up to a year mat leave to support ds starting school and then back work after October 2016 onwards that's my life planned for next 2 years then .....Grin

Aethelfleda · 02/12/2014 20:49

I am SO for the cast-iron contraception plan, ladies, but the best of luck to you!!! short of Divine Intervention there shall be no more babies Chez Aethel!!

NorthernChinchilla · 02/12/2014 21:45

God, it's the same here figgy, have had to calculate what we could afford if I fell pg instantly, and given 9 months pg on full pay, three months nearly full pay followed by six months reduced pay, AND with DS being cheaper at nursery, etc, etc, we're OK to start now.
I've not yet gone for a spreadsheet but it's not far off Grin

And I'm sure the full on portcullis, drawbridge, and archers approach will work for you aethel, I think we can have faith in your abilities!

Just ordered the last of the Xmas presents, when did this all get so expensive...

Chip's baby arrived! Via Facebook!
Soon happy to hear there are a few ttc-ers on the thread.
MrOi and I had a rather fab date on Sunday. He let me stay over too. Wink
I don't think he wanted to take it slow really, I think he'd probably not changed his sheets for 5 months. This time he had time to prepare!
Anyway, all good things.
Think I'm too late in the month for conception, but it's Christmas and miracles can happen.

He wondered (after!) whether we should've taken precautions, due to the state of our marriage. I said no way. Whether we fix things or not, I'd love another BOi/BOiess, and I'd struggle as a single mum but it'd be ok. One would manage!
Things are looking good though for the marriage. We are getting on better than ever, I'm starting to fancy him more too - which is nice! I think with a straightforward action plan to make changes, it could work.
Here's hoping.
Christmas is a good time to help with these things. Grin
