That's great Oi.
Yay for baby Chip!

My boobs are agony. Milk came in. Boulder boobs. Painful to feed. Struggling through. Hope it improves soon ... Midwife said latch seems fine. Nipples raw (just cos not used to it and Mopsyboy has a really strong suck) so piling on the Lansinoh. Will try express some off too. He fed basically all night until 5.30am. Wrecked. Sleeping a lot of the day when not feeding. Tried to nap but couldn't Sad Hopefully tonight won't be as painful as last night. Was so sore it made me cry Sad Bf is so fecking hard.

hinkyhonk · 03/12/2014 18:28

Delurking but lurgy filled. Was just popping in to say hi and don't know if you remember me. Life is so busy I find time to read but not post sadly. And life seems rather too full of drudge and not enough fun oh well. But the talk of ttc has lured me out of the woodwork. We are tentatively up for starting in March but need to wait until then to guard against if we have another prem baby he/she doesn't end up in the wrong school year again.

Mopsy sorry to hear bf knacks. Did for me too. Gets better around day 5 I think?

OiMissus · 03/12/2014 23:15

Mopsy - I had 2 weeks of bf agony, to be fair. I remember so many nights sitting up in bed, crying, in agony, with poor DH feeling useless. But it does get better. And after a few weeks, the pain completely goes and it is the most natural, easy thing.
Everyone is different. (I still find it hard to believe that for some it isn't at all painful!) If your nipples crack, get breast shields to give them time out. (Don't put lansinoh on with shields! - from experience! Lansinoh sticks your skin to the shield, so when DS starts to suck, you start pulling your skin. Ouch! - no lansinoh! Let your skin move!)
I'm sure you're doing absolutely brilliantly. Grin

Chips1999 · 04/12/2014 03:39

Hello everyone, just checking in quickly before I go back to sleep! Baby girl born weighing 8lbs exactly Smile The labour was a bit too fast for me, they've recorded active labour as 1 hour 23 minutes and we got to the hospital with an hour to spare!

We're back home now and settling in. Managed 24 hours breastfeeding in hospital which I more than I thought I would and have moved into formula now we are back home. Happy that the baby has had the colostrum.

DS seems to like the baby, he said in the hospital "we take this baby home, I not want another baby"! Very cute! And he insisted that he put her hat on indoors at home, and put her teddy he bought her into the Moses basket. I'm making sure I give DS lots of cuddles and praise. He seems enormous now!!

OiMissus · 04/12/2014 06:53

Aw!!!! Well done. Grin

NorthernChinchilla · 04/12/2014 08:34

Oh congratulations chip, how lovely for you all, and I hope DS continues to be so sweet.

mopsy, are you taking any pain meds? It took about two weeks for bf to settle down for me; the latching was very painful, and I think what helped for me was that I was taking paracetamol and ibuprofen post-cs, took the edge of it.
You'll get there, but if you don't continue, everything will still b OK. How's it going in general?

Boulder boobs even worse today. They're like rocks and horribly painful. Feeding was OK during the night (10-12 and 2-4... pretty good!) but this morning it really hurt, even with nipple shields. Scared I'm getting an infection so I'm now pumping like mad. Also nipple shield works fine on right boob but he can't seem to manage it on left. The nipple bit is so tall and I can't get him to latch properly with it. Any tips? Also boulder boobs now 36 hours .... when do they go down? Finding it so hard to sleep as so sore. Just started w the paracetamol Northern and will layer with ibuprofen throughout the day.

mopsytop · 04/12/2014 10:24

Oooh congrats Chip ... yay! We can moan together about lack of sleep! Hope you're settling in OK. Minimopsy is being fab too with her brother.

Chips1999 · 04/12/2014 21:52

Today seems to have gone very smoothly, the entire family has been dressed, fed and bathed!

DS had an afternoon at nursery and I think they made a big fuss of him, he was really happy when he got home and had made me a card! Poor DD was really smelly so I gave her a proper bath today and DS helped. I still managed to miss some mucky bits in her neck creases, will get those tomorrow am when I give her a wash! DS was very good and passed me things and he asked why he didn't have a 'peg' on his tummy!

DS is asking for lots of cuddles but I'm happy to oblige and DD is (so far ) very easy going and I can put her down while I cuddle DS etc.

I'm enjoying these early days much more this time around - I don't feel half as terrified of "breaking the baby"!!

Figster · 05/12/2014 10:16

We've been telling ds all week that Santa need his nappies for all the christmas babies and so far today he's had no accidents been out in car and all round supermarket good sign!! Bribing him with a big Santa present is the way forward he's been a delight the last week he keeps saying he wants a big plane not sure how will do that.

Have to work through wardrobe today Xmas night out tonight my preferred dress is in my parents house 500 miles away big time sulking now

How are the boobs today mopsy? Strangely mine have been agony for 2 days doubt it means anything though

mopsytop · 05/12/2014 10:30

Ooooh cd you be pregnant fig?

My boobs are even worse today ... bigger, harder, more sore. now been like boulders for over 3 days. I thought it only lasted a couple of days. I'm struggling.

LordJabuJabu · 05/12/2014 10:45

Forgot I hadn't posted here; baby girl born on Wednesday morning!
Not breastfeeding but my milk has just come in, ouch.

mopsytop · 05/12/2014 10:50

Yay congrats! is that two girls and a boy then?

hope you're getting on ok!

mopsytop · 05/12/2014 10:50

I mean two girls and a boy for the thread not for you Jabu!!

Chips1999 · 05/12/2014 15:48

Yes I think one girl for me, one for Jabu and a boy for you Mopsy Smile

I think my milk is starting to come in...going to take some paracetamol before bedtime tonight as I suspect tomorrow might be painful!

DD is doing well on formula, taking about 45-50mls every 2-3 hours. I've treated myself to the ready made milk, will ask DH if we can get some more and move to the powdered one after Christmas.

I'm enjoying lots of cuddles from DS as he's a little bit clingy still, and also enjoying lots of cuddles with DD when DS isn't about...trying not to give her too much fuss and attention when DS is here. DH has been great, he's taken DS to the park this afternoon and been insisting on doing the night feeds and cooking dinner.

NorthernChinchilla · 05/12/2014 22:52

Yay, the final addition, welcome LadyJabuJabu Wink!

So glad all three have arrived safely.

Really hope the boobs settle down mopsy, get him to feed as much as possible and keep on with the painkillers. Hopefully you'll see your MW soon and can raise it with them?

Ten days until I chuck the pills Grin

LordJabuJabu · 05/12/2014 23:14

Both the DS's have been fab, they're full of cold and not sleeping well at all but they love 'baby sister'.

She's suddenly gone from 15ml to 40ml feeds, milk monster! We're on ready made stuff until at least the end of next week, cba with making formula up atm (sorry not so precious 3rd born)!

Hope everyone has lovely plans for the weekend?

Chips1999 · 06/12/2014 07:10

Oh fingers crossed for you Northern! Bin those pills!

This morning I look like Jordan! I think my boobs are more painful than my stitches...hopefully this bit won't last too long!

Glad your DD is feeding well Jabu. The ready made milk isn't too expensive on the amount of milk newborns have so definitely worth it!

I'm planning another day of chilling out today. Tomorrow will be my first day out of the house to go to the baby clinic for DD's heel prick test.

mopsytop · 06/12/2014 11:01

Ooooh Mr. Mopsy and Minimopsy went out and got a Christmas tree. Our first ever real proper tree yay!

OiMissus · 06/12/2014 13:48

I am not pg. No miracles this month for me! Hmm
No real tree yet. The builder is in today to hopefully finish plastering the rooms. I 'll try and paint as much as it can this week. I guess we'll get a tree this week and decorate it next weekend.
I am so giddy about all your babies. And Bennybenbear is pg, and another in my mummy friends group. I am getting hopeful again that it might yet happen to me again.

Figster · 06/12/2014 16:32

God I'm so hungover today Xmas party got to bed 2.30 woke up 6 am hanging Hmm

Good news is ds been out of nappies since yesterday morning 1 accident so far Grin

LordJabuJabu · 06/12/2014 16:54

A real Christmas tree sounds fab mopsy!
We're going for a wall mounted fibre optic one from studio catalogue, far more garish than anything I'd ever pick but Christmas is no longer mine

Well done ds Fig! Hope your head is better soon.

Having a massive hormonal come down, ranty & teary today. Place is a bomb site with all the packing!

Takeaway tonight (3rd this week, losing ££ but gaining lbs)!'

mopsytop · 06/12/2014 18:07

I can't figure out how to post pics from my phone or I'd post one of the tree. 'Tis fabliss!
