Fix I was going to say that about Oi and Mr Oi

Am off to aberdeen v Motherwell tonight hats gloves and scarf well and truly looked out it's already cold Blush you may not hear from me again I may meet my maker on the very exposed to North Sea air terraces .....I miss Friday nights in Scotland which revolved around nightclubs and sore feet but those days are gone Grin

OiMissus · 24/10/2014 20:47

It was the bloody photographer, at almost 1am.
"Will you turn towards him, put your hand there, look there, do this..."
Really awkward!
That's why we're laughing!Grin
Hilarious!!

OiMissus · 25/10/2014 17:50

He was supposed to be coming for dinner tonight so we could start talking.
But he'd double booked himself so has gone watching footie in the pub instead.
Why do I bother?!?!?ConfusedConfusedConfused

Aethelfleda · 25/10/2014 23:54

Haddock or Swordfish? oi?

Figster · 26/10/2014 06:58

Been up since 6 so of course that means 5 in new time Hmm went to sleep at 1am as was out with friends my eyes hurt!! Taking ds swimming later, hoping to see gone girl tonight might fall asleep though

mopsytop · 26/10/2014 11:11

Ugh poor you figgy. Not looking fwd to the imminent lack of sleep. I'm getting up about seven times a night for the loo but can just go straight back to bed... Not looking fwd to the prolonged small baby wake ups!

Full on nesting mode here. Have unvacuum-packed all my towels and bed linen and sorted and folded and put them in their new home. I now have a linen cupboard! Yay! Not an airing cupboard, alas, as we have a combi boiler. But a dedicated linen cupboard is still pretty fab. Yes I am a saddo! But have had up until now to keep all my linen vacuum packed in bags as the only space for it in our last teeny house was in a very damp cupboard.

Gave my sister all Minimopsy's baby clothes last weekend. Now going through everything that's left for this baby and folding/sorting into either his chest of drawers or vacuum packing for later on. I love tidying and sorting. I hate when there is any mess or disorder in my house. So I'm in my element. A place for everything and everything in its place.

Yes I am a saddo!

TheOnlySeven · 26/10/2014 12:02

I need to tidy my linen cupboard :o. It's not sad mopsy, I'm even jealous that you have everything in its place. My whole house is a mess and I just don't have time to sort it, it's driving me bonkers.

Though on a more organised front I've ordered the last of the DCs Christmas presents from Amazon, which should hopefully come tomorrow. Just a few small bits for their stocking to get then they're finished :o

OiMissus · 26/10/2014 20:10

My linen cupboard is glorious, but the rest of the house..??! Ahem!
I have been making a list of all the things I need to do. I am exhausted!

NorthernChinchilla · 27/10/2014 18:35

Been lurgy-fied since yesterday, just done the shopping and now am shattered!
Will catch up properly later when DP is wrangling the boy into bed Smile

NorthernChinchilla · 27/10/2014 21:44

So, did you manage to chat to him Oi? Or are you looking for a nice raised bed to bury a rather large, bloke-shaped, lump?

I took a tip off here figgy, and we don't change our clocks until late morning. That way we're being woken up at the usual time, but then gain an extra hour before lunch...I know it seems mad but psychologically it really works for us! With DS thinking that 5am is OK, and 6am is a lie in, it's in fact rather vital in our household... How was the footie by the way?

Enjoy that nesting mopsy, why not? I'm sure the new DC will love the well-ordered linen cupboard Wink Are you pretty unpacked now and/or starting on the renovations? Must be fantastic now you've got all that space; we (or rather DP, I was in bed/on the sofa all yesterday feeling grim) unpacked all the boxes of books, DVDs and CDs onto the new shelving, so it looks lovely and we've got the space back in the third bedroom and living room, joy!

You are advanced seven, I'm just writing up my list [shocked]

Been so busy with friends here, I've just not had time to come on, but have a whole weekend free this weekend, JOY!

I see your clock logic. Amazingly Boi didn't wake until 6:30 - his usual time, and I managed to keep him in bed until 7. Grin
No, I have not spoken to mrOi yet. And there is a patch of garden that could do with an extra lump.
I am trying not to think that he is an ignorant pillock of the highest order, instead thinking that men are actually from Mars... But the underlying belief is that he's dumb as f@@@ or has no interest to save this marriage. I find it all very odd.
It's my birthday this week, he is invited for a party tea with the Boi. We'll see what that brings!ConfusedConfused

Annoying Oi Sad Angry Sad

All well here, except having lots of really quite painful contractions all day long every day. Uterine irritability apparently (not a UTI, not in labour) which basically means suck it up. Sad Sad Sad Sad The thought that I've five more weeks of this is not particularly cheering. On the plus side, all seems fine with the baby.

2.5 more weeks work. Cannot wait until I stop. Exhausted and the commute is killing me! Nice bunch of students this year though. Lecturing is fine actually. It is the commute really that's the negative.

Hey ho! What's new on here? Hallowe'en plans? Bonfires? Dressing up?

fixyourgardengate · 29/10/2014 20:59

Oops. My Mum (her dil) was due to take dd over today for a visit but couldn't get hold of her on Monday to confirm. Still no answer on Tuesday am (and having checked with my Uncle no one had spoken to her since Sunday) so Mum drove over and found her on her living room floor. X ray confirmed a severe fracture which requires surgery should she ever want to walk again Sad Just waiting to hear if she's back on the ward yet.

NorthernChinchilla · 29/10/2014 21:00

Let us know how the meet up with Mr Oi goes Oi, and whether you'll need some swift green-fingered assistance Grin

Sorry you're in discomfort mopsy, and it's grim when there's nothing that can be done other than sit it out. Bet you're counting down the days til you can stop work; and like you say, it's the commute that often does it as opposed to the job Confused

Late one with my course last night, and when I came home DS randomly got up, so ended up in bed with me. Meant that I didn't really settle, as I'm always twitching when he does given his tendency to propel himself out of the bed!

Quiet weekend here, because I'm then away for the next four in a row Sad. Seeing Dad & family next week, friends the weekend after that, a conference after that, and then my annual Xmas trip away with my Mum and Auntie. Could really, really do with more time at home, just the three of us together.

fixyourgardengate · 29/10/2014 21:05

Hmm, the first part of that didn't post?!!!

Hope the pain has settled down mopsy

Poorly baby doing well and is off the ventilator Smile

The other bit was about my Gran and her broken hip. Last time she was in the hospital (fall down the stairs resulting in broken pelvis) she got every infection going and we honestly thought she wasn't coming home. She missed our Wedding, but credits our visit the next day (Got to wear my dress again!) as her turning point. But she hates that hospital

mopsytop · 29/10/2014 21:13

Hope your gran is OK fix. Good news about baby!

Anyone else seen that video about actress walking in NY and all the catcalls/comments/harassment? So depressing. She's now getting loads of rape threats online (so f-ing predictable but depressing) but also I read the comments under Guardian article on the story and just SO many saying 'that's not harassment, that's just blokes being friendly' or 'that's just NY, not like that in the UK' or variations thereof. As usual completely ignoring the evidence and what women say. IT IS INFURIATING Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad I need to not read comments sections ever. It is just majorly depressing. It feels like everything is getting worse for women not better.

mopsytop · 29/10/2014 21:14

PS thanks for your kind words! Only 2.5 weeks of work to go! And only two weeks of commute... Yay!

NorthernChinchilla · 31/10/2014 09:43

The pumpkin is carved, the sweets have been bought, we're going to risk the trick or treaters tonight Grin
Watch us get no knocks on the door now!

OP posts:
mopsytop · 31/10/2014 14:12

We have no sweets ... maybe SD get some. I'm going out for dinner though so don't need to worry!

Figster · 31/10/2014 14:50

It's funny I loved Halloween when I was a kid but I lived on a street where we all moved in at same time all knew each other and there were lots of kids 1 house would host a kids party every year I have great memories of Halloween as a kid. Now I can't be arsed with it it's too commercial dh hates it saying that ds has a devil costume we have a few bags of haribo in and I'll take him to a couple of people we know but that's all.

I had a sickness bug at the start of the week straight after being away for weekend was off sick 2 days, still have no appetite and a headache ds was unscathed, dh was paranoid I was pg until he started puking too Grin

I've posted in FB today about the endless frustrations I'm having with ds today he doesn't listen he's awkward, selfish, demanding I've not had the strength to deal with it today and found it really hard to not react I did shout at him today when he wee'd on the floor because I took my phone off him after he'd been asked about 10 times to give it back. He threw a wet nappy at my head last night I had to push him out the room so I could calm down he's never sorry either. Need to discipline him I know but he doesn't ever listen so how can you!!

NorthernChinchilla · 01/11/2014 22:57

All went really well here, lots of nice kids with their parents, thanking us nicely for the sweets. DS loved handing them out to the 'monsters', so may take him next year.

Went and got him some more clothes today, and swapped round most of the old stuff. I know we were all commenting on it recently, but age 4-5, with size 9 feet...and coming up 3, my little baby is no more.
Nope, he's the child that the lovely people in our corner shop offer me a tranquilser gun for So I know how u feel figster

Feeding the ducks in the rain and household warfare with the Derby tomorrow, woooooWink !

OP posts:
mopsytop · 02/11/2014 09:23

Not a single knock on the door! Good thing I didn't get any supplies in or I'd be scoffing them all myself!

Figster · 02/11/2014 18:30

Northern I am Shock at 4-5 ds is a giant and heavy bugger but still in 2-3 trousers and most of his t shirts

PartTimeProcrastinator · 02/11/2014 22:17

Haha DS is currently in bed in an 18-24 month sleep suit! Northern can we steal some of your DS's tallness? (although DS being tiny is very helpful if I ever have to pick him up to make a quick exit mid tantrum)

NorthernChinchilla · 03/11/2014 16:52

Let's swap PTP as I could really do with a physically more manageable child! DS is driving me to drink, violence, or both... How're you getting on at the moment?

Question for those who've done it before, when they drop their last nap, do you make bedtime a bit earlier (DS has gone from a 2-3 hour nap to nothing?
And how long does this psychotic "I'm too awake to nap but will be tired, hyper and grumpy ALL AFTERNOON" stage last Sad ?

Little sod is still napping at nursery though, herd mentality I guess...
