Oh Bubbs (((hugs))), your EPU sounds like they're talking out their you know what - if the due Jan thread is anything to go by, bleeding in early pregnancy is horribly common. A lot of people had cramps too. But surely you must be plenty far enough on for an abdominal scan by now?? dsis had hers yesterday and she's due April too. Anyway, I hope the bleeding settles x

sfxmum · 06/10/2006 20:37

oh bubbs what useless people they are, is that not the time to throw the biggest wobbly ever? then again maybe not in front of the toddler, there is role modelling and there is role modelling

it is really very common to bleed and it is very common to have period like pains, honestly useless people

and trib it could also be old age you know, these days it takes me a week to recover from a bottle of wine

bubbaOOOOOOO · 06/10/2006 21:45

Thanks, that's made me feel a bit better.
I'll be 12 weeks on Thursday,so they could've quite easily done a "tummy scan" rather than an internal one.
The annoying thing is that this hospital is 2 mins from home but I chose another 10 miles away when I had Ds as this one doesn't have a very good reputation,BUT the other one is closing next month so this is where I'm booked in to have this one, grrrrrrr!
Oh well...I suppose the only good thing is I'm not having my bloods or scans done here as they're all being done at a small clinic,so hopefully Iwon't even have to go there again til I'm about 36 weeks.
AND this same "doctor" gave me a prescription for some Lactulose and then told me it wasn't adviseable to take it til I'm 12 weeks pg,which is total rubbish.

2Happy-Glad your sister's scan went well.I did know she had her scan and she has introduced herself as your sis.

Sorry for the rant, but thoroughly peed off!

lummox · 07/10/2006 08:41

bubbs - sorry the hospital was useless. i did a lot of google searching when i had the bleed, and found various stuff which suggested that bleeding in pregnancy is not strongly linked with miscarriage (that is, some very large number of women, perhaps up to 35% have some bleeding in pregnancy, and the miscarriage rate is only very slightly higher for that group than for people who do not bleed).

The only other thing that made me feel a little less panicky was that a close meber of my family, who has sadly suffered two miscarriages, said that as soon as she started bleeding a little bit things got rapidly worse. Hope this isn't upsetting anyone else who has been through this, but i know how panicky the whole thing made me, and these two things did help me.

In terms of cramps, I got lots of periody type pain in early pregnancy, and certainly convinced myself that they were worse when I had the bleed. But in retrospect I'm not sure if it really was.

bowel function is very important anyway, porridge and prunes for breakfast everyday
( i guess only middle age makes appreciate German philosophy[grin)

muma3 · 07/10/2006 16:08

glad the bleeding has stopped bubbs, hope your feeling better soon
go for a big fat poo and have a bath

JonahB · 07/10/2006 19:09

Katz, so sorry to hear your sad news.

Tea, my DH loves his cars. We hadn?t even thought about gender specific issues, however, he was a friend?s house and made a beeline for all toys automotive. Now he?ll play with his toy cars for ages. DH wants to buy him a toy pram(!?!). Think he quite likes the idea of a metrosexual toddler . Personally, I?ve no issues with prams and little boys, however I do have a big issue with more unwieldly primary coloured plastic finding their way into my house.

SFX, I?ve not taken DS to be weighed for about 10 months either. He looks healthy enough to me and his girth would imply there are no weight issues going on there .

Bubb, sending you lots of glue and keeping my fingers crossed for Tuesday. Early prgy is just horrendous isn?t it? Such a constant source of anxiety. Not that this will be much help, I bled in early pgy with DS and everything was fine.

2MwahHaHaHappy · 07/10/2006 19:22

Lummox - poor dh tried to have a bowl of your soup today. I say tried, he managed a couple of mouthfuls himself, ds scoffed the rest! Thanks for the recipe

katzg · 09/10/2006 17:01

Happy birthday Katzgirl1! Oh good lord, she'll be off to school next year, argghhh!

Btw, I think tea was asking about MrsW's ds1 - he hasn't started school yet cos he missed the cut-off for this year, even though he's only a week or two younger than my dniece, who has gone to school this year.

sfxmum · 09/10/2006 20:06

happy birthday to katzie 1

and bubbs good luck for tomorrow thinking of you

hi to everyone else

tribpot · 09/10/2006 21:41

counsellor tomorrow, gargh. Got told off the first time for not crying, hey ho.

sfxmum · 09/10/2006 22:31

i don't get these counsellor types
honestly! i was in theraphy for nearly 4yrs first year one to one the rest in a group, i don't remember crying more than a couple of times and there were a few silent sessions too.
apparently worked because i am the picture of sanity

hope you find it useful trib

bubbaOOOOOOO · 10/10/2006 14:46

Afternoon,

Just got back from my scan and everything is perfect.Definately only one baby which is a relief and a nice strong heartbeat too.At least I can stop worrying now-it makes it all seem real now.
Have also changed hospitals after the way I was treated on Friday and will be going to a brand new hospital that hasn't even opened yet.

Hope everyone is well-I'll be back later on.x

sfxmum · 10/10/2006 16:13

Morning ladies

Trib - thanks for update re Big Wednesday Boy . Hope all's well with you trib...?

Many Happy Returns yesterday for lil miss Katz no 1 Hope a fab time was had by all.

Bubb - so glad all's ok, and that there's only one in there too! I definitely wouldn't envy anyone with 3 under 2

SFX hope you're having a better day today - if you can't find your stash of chocs I have a secret collection if you're desperate . re the job - I'm finding it very hard to adjust to the increase in days, not enough hours in the day to play on the pc at work and no way my two will let me get near the pc at home!!

Jonah - we bought DS a buggy and doll when expecting DD to try and get him to join in abit...but he didn't take to then at all, and the doll is now the 'bay bay' DD bashes me over the head with at 5.30am when both of them come into our bed . We did get alot of comments tho the one time DS did push the buggy around town - lots of open mouths and pointing, so it appears lots of people stereotype

katzg · 11/10/2006 14:50

this years birthday cake for your veiwing pleasure

OP posts:
bubbaOOOOOOO · 11/10/2006 19:35

Katz-fab cake,very .

Sfx-Hope things are improving with dd's sleep.

Tea-Oscar loves pushing a dolls buggy around the room when we go to playgroup, and there's plenty of other little boys who love doing the same.

Jonah-have been nosing on other antenatal threads and saw your post.Sending you a big(((hug))).x

2MwahHaHaHappy · 11/10/2006 21:04

Happy birthday katz dd, your cake was fantastic!
Why has Trib's post been deleted? I didn't read it - hope everything ok, Trib.
Also hope everything's ok with you, Jonah.
Sfx, hope today's been better, and you've been able to get more sleep.
ds has been off-colour today, diarrhoea, terrible nappy rash and just not himself, so I guess that's probably more molars (and more sleepless nights) on the way here .

2MwahHaHaHappy · 11/10/2006 21:06

Oh, sorry, and Bubbs, really pleased the scan went well for you x

JonahB · 11/10/2006 21:09

Bubb, I am SO pleased for you. Congratulations!!!! Oh and thanks for the hug. I?ve updated the other thread. It?s not a good day for me today, however, my therapeutic offloading has helped a little.

Tea at the baby bashing. It really can hurt so much when they decide to hit you over the head with a toy, or shove their little, yet pincer sharp fingers into your mouth or up your nose. Or is that only my DS??

Katz, that cake is amazing. You are a very talented mummy?.

bubbaOOOOOOO · 11/10/2006 22:27

I did see your updated post,Jonah.Really hope everything goes well for you tomorrow. Will be thinking of you,and sending you lots of glue.x

Thanks 2Happy-Hope you all have a good night.
I did read Trib's post before it was deleted-can't think why it was deleted though.

tribpot · 12/10/2006 10:07

Will update properly in a sec but don't worry ladies - I asked for it to be deleted because it mentioned one of dh's meds by name and I am very conscious of the potential security risk involved with that particular drug.
