Oh that's awful Katz.

2MwahHaHaHappy · 05/10/2006 11:52

Really sorry, katz, that's terrible

teabelly · 05/10/2006 14:08

Afternoon ladies

Katz so sorry to hear about your friends loss

Bubb - weighing lo's - we last 'did' DD in August, but that was after about a four month interval...and she'd only put on 10oz in that time as she'd started walking, and now running about everywhere. Although the lack of much gain has had her decending the centile ladder it's only to the 91st centile, so she won't be fading away anywhere fast

These night terrors sound bad, we only really get screaming in the night when DD can't find her dummy again, < sigh >

Te he he at the wellies - I have a niece who spent the best part of her 2nd year of life in wellies - nothing else would do!

DD has discovered dolls and has to carry her 'bay bay' around everywhere. It's odd because I'm not at all frilly or girlie, was very tomboyish as a child much to my mother's disappointment and so DD has never had any encouragement from me towards girls toys yet she's suddenly becoming more interested in them. Now that I think about it DS has always graviated towards typical boys toys - mad about cars and dinosaurs. Is anyone else finding that their DD/DS is tending towards typical gender specific toys or have I somehow subliminally damaged my kids from an early age!

I weighed my 15.5 month old last week and he is 1 stone 13.5lbs!!!!!!!!

He has loads of big teeth but not all his front bottom 4 baby teeth yet?!?!? He bit me when I put teething gel on and actually drew blood.

He is such a charmer and has a smile for everyone. He sure knows how to work a room!!

He refuses to say Mama or Mummy. He can say Dada and Daddy and when I ask him to see Mummy he either laughs or says Dada!!

Cheeky little monkey.

sfxmum · 05/10/2006 14:51

feeling like i am a neglectful motherdd has not seen the HV since she was 6m
she is on the skinny side but seems ok to me still growing and looks healthy
maybe i should make an appointment

Skyler · 05/10/2006 16:05

Katz - How very sad .

We have just got a free sat card for £20 and now have CBeebies. Yippee.
We had an old box from when we were in the UK before and have nabbed the dish from next door now they have moved out as it is our side of the house. dd1 and I are thrilled!
Sorry 2happy for thinking you were ill. Made me lol when you typed you were ok.
My dd1 loves her wellies and I keep finding them all over the house as dd2 keeps putting them on and wandering around till the fall off. Our house is covered in small socks too. They get everywhere.

lummox · 05/10/2006 16:44

katz - that is awful. so sorry.

sfx - don't worry re: the HV. we only saw one once, just after ds was born, and he hasn't seen anyone apart from for his jabs since his eight week check.

2happy - i read skyler's post and assumed i had missed something! doh. enjoy the good wishes though.

bubbs - we had a nightmare with reins too. ds just sat down and refused to move. now that he is a bit steadier on his feet, i am planning to get one of the rucksack thingies that has a wrist strap in the hope that i get less objection.

muma3 · 05/10/2006 19:29

hi all ,

thanks for the kind words ( or appropiate not-so-kind words) . havent heard form dd1 nan or dad . my friend works with her thought and has passed the message on that she is really upset that she cant have dd1 anymore and that she has the bike she promised her under her bed and is very upset she cant take her out on it. tbh she is acting like a spoilt brat . i told my friend to pass a mesg back ; if she misses her that much then i have said that she is more then welcome to come round and she her when she wants and as for the bike dont be so spiteful and bring it round for her to use .
we will see !!!

katzg- so sorry to hear about your friends loss

bubbaOOOOOOO · 06/10/2006 13:05

Hi All,

Hope everyone is well. Not having a very good day here.Woke up this morning to a small bleed which scared the life out of me.Have also been really constipated so wondered if I'd done anything from straining(sorry TMI),although it was definately from the front.
I phoned the midwife who said if Iget any more or any to go to the EPU,but I'm hoping it was a one off.Have cancelled my day out and been vegging on the sofa all morning, while Ds is asleep, although he'll be awake in a mo.

bubbaOOOOOOO · 06/10/2006 13:06

Any more blood or abdominal pains, that should be!

tribpot · 06/10/2006 13:09

bubb - hopefully nothing to worry about but keep us posted. Take it easy today!

sfxmum · 06/10/2006 13:36

hello all

bubb - take care scary business this parenting lark, starts long before the little monsters are here

katz - top tip will keep it in mind

muma - nice to see you around

eym -of the food on the floor and the night waking! i know them well

skyler -CBeebies yes sometimes my mood improves depending on who is on Tikabilla

lummox - i am not a pet person and like you i try not to pass on prejudices on to dd. unlike dh who goes look pussy cat evil filthy thing

tea - how goes the extra working? have you used to it yet?

i am struggling with the timing of dd one and only daily nap, she never sleeps longer than 1hr and the timing seems crucial to avoid much crankiness

lummox · 06/10/2006 13:42

bubb - i had a small bleed this time round (didn't have anything with ds) at around 8/9 weeks. it didn't come back, and i think it was just one of those things. i still managed to get myself into a complete state about it, though. take things as easy as you can.

sfx - when tikkabilla becomes a mood altering substance you need to step away from the tv . i say this as someone who was genuinely disappointed (for myself) when they stopped having ballamory on after ds's tea.

hello to everyone else.

sfxmum · 06/10/2006 13:45

yes lummox the cheap thrills of the housewife

beats my mothers Valium

lummox · 06/10/2006 13:50

altho i found (before getting preg again, obviously) that the effects of too much razzledazzle are not altogether unlike the effect of an 11am gin.

sfxmum · 06/10/2006 13:59

dd is scared of razzledazzle particularly of that little man who tells the stories
these days even mr Tumble scares her but then again clowns are creepy

oh i need a life, so where are the Buffy DVDs....

Skyler · 06/10/2006 15:29

bUBB - Hope you are OK. I had a few bleeds with dd2. Very scary, but all was ok so try not to panic. Easier said than done. Thinking of you.

bubbaOOOOOOO · 06/10/2006 18:02

Thanks ladies.
I have spent all afternoon at the EPU at my hospital which was a total waste of time.DS and I got completely drenched as soon as we got out the car and our Maclaren was in Dh's car so I had to take the crappy Hauck buggy with an equally crap raincover.Oscar ended up sitting in his wet buggy for nearly 3 hours while I waited to see the doctor. She was useless and so hard to understand. She said she couldn't do a "tummy scan" as they are only qualified to do an internal one at the EPU,which I didn't fancy,so that was about it.She also told me it ISN'T common to have any kind of bleed during pregnancy, even though I know lots of people who have and according to my midwife this morning it isn't uncommon!
At the end of the day, hopefully everything will be ok and there's nothing I can do really so may aswell just wait til my scan on Tuesday and see what happens.

Lummox/Skyler-Did you also have period type pains along with the bleeding you had?

Btw...DS loves Razzledazzle and even had a RazzleDazzle birthday cake.

tribpot · 06/10/2006 20:07

Bubb - what a load of arse! How many weeks are you now? Have you been booked in by your midwife? If early days, I think only the internal scan can be useful.

How helpful to be told it isn't common but they can't do anything even vaguely useful about it And I quite agree, I think it is pretty common - I had period pains (no bleed) with ds for the first two 'periods' for sure, and I think for the third one as well. In fact my period pains for the first one were so bad that I was convinced I wasn't pregnant, so went out and got trashed, and then had to take a day off work cos I felt so horrifically ill, and couldn't understand why (I mean level of illness was disproportionate to amount drunk - an effective if not responsible way to compound one's pregnancy theory!)
