thats upseting Katzg its not like straight forward MMR is trouble free, having to deal with all those extras is just not fair on the little ones. not to mention the parental worry

This is one of the times I just think you can't beat MN for! I was starting to tear my hair out about ds's eating - convinced this pickiness wasn't supposed to start for another 5 months - come on here and nearly everyone's lo's are doing the same! It is so reassuring, and at least when he's spitting his lunch on the floor I can just keep saying "it's a phase, it's a phase"! I'm going to try the burger finger food idea - I do think ds prefers it when he's feeding himself (he's just not very good at it, lol!).
Bubbs - you are so right about Jan not seeming so far away Nope, not panicking...
Katz - that is frustrating. Do you have to wait long for the ultrasound?
Trib - crap nights here too. He makes noise every 90 mins like yours, and then can be up for hours at a time. We even tried controlled crying here last night . I hated it, but ds did fall asleep after 1/2 an hour, though we were convinced he'd wake up this morning hating us . (He didn't, of course, lol!)

OMG I can't believe there's a due in June '07 thread already! (Bubbs I see you found it before me ) How old does that make our babies seem!!

Hello
Congratulations to all the pregnant Junies. How very exciting, esp for you Bubb as didn't you have to wait a long time for O?
I have not found the time to pop on here for so long, and not had the energy to post lol.
Our girls are great fun. DD2 is doing all the things yours seem to be i.e. refusing foods she previously loved, screaming if I dare to try to feed her and generally getting quite willful and independant.
SFX - Pasta and pesto with tuna and peas is my staple standby easy meal, the one I know both dd's will wolf down! The one I do when we have take away hee hee. My dd still wolfs down jars too (have just had a week away and wasn't paying for her meals out.) but has decided that most of my home cooking is revolting.
Ho hum. Luckily I remember this from dd1 and got so stressed at the time with her that I am just offering dd2 a banana and getting her down from the table. Her naps are all over the place too.
Anyway I HAVE been thinking of you and hope I can be forgiven my absence.......

Katz - Haven't read other thread but sorry to hear of the stresses you are STILL having with your dd2's rashes. What a stress for you.

OMG Skyler-A blast from the past.

Glad to hear you're all doing well.Where are you based now you're back in the UK?
Yes,this baby was a massive shock as Oscar took a very long time getting here, but of course,a lovely surprise.
Hope you're going to be "sticking around".

Sfx-I know,I couldn't believe there was a June 07 thread already.Just goes to show our Junies aren't babies anymore!

I went to an NCT sale this morning and bought Ds a nice toy garage and lots of cars.Of course he's not at all interested in the garage-only the little people who sit in(and can be pulled out)the car. There's another sale next Saturday,so hoping to get him lots of books as we've now got enough toys to open our very own branch of the ELC.

Hope you are all having a great weekend.I've very stupidly just had a huge bowl of ice cream which hasn't agreed with me.Serves me right for being a pig.

for a minute there i thought you knew ssomething i did not i am hoping for a due in aug or sep 07 foolish old me if we are to have another hot summer

Report
bubbaloo · 24/09/2006 14:25

Lol.

Funnily enough I'm quite pleased this one is due in April as I won't have to contend with the heat.Ds was born on the hottest day of 2005(upto his birthdate!)and it certainly wasn't fun, giving birth in that heat!

Feel really bad as I've just sent Dh and Ds to Asda's on their own.All I want to do is sleep.I slept all afternoon yesterday while dh took ds to the park, fed him and put him to bed.He was out this morning and I phoned him to come home,so I could sleep.I was NEVER this tired last time-let's hope it's not twins.

Hellooooooo
Thanks for the welcome back. Big hugs back to you.
We are now based in the Midlands near Telford. I like to say we are in Shropshire though as it sounds a bit nicer.
Mr Skyler is safe in the UK and thankfully with no plans to go anywhere at the moment. He will have a four monther at some point but we hope not for a while because of his trade.
Bubb - I was TOTALLY exhausted when pregnant with dd2. DD1 watched FAR to much TV while I lay dozing on the sofa. On the up side I felt FANTASTIC and so full of energy when dd2 was born. I could have taken on the world by comparison. On the down side I do feel that dd1 lost me for a few months. No lasting damage though. You do what you have to to get through a day. Remembering that though does put me off the idea of a third with both the dd's to look after . Right have to do some paperwork for dd1's nursery and look into her school applications OMG! Scary.
Bye for now xxx

bubbaloo · 24/09/2006 17:28

That's handy to know Skyler.I suppose the first time round you can sleep when you want to and do exactly as you please, but second time round is bound to be tiring as there's another LO to look after.Feel really guilty that some days I'm just vegging on the sofa while Ds amuses himself with his toys and the Cbeebies.

Wow-school does sound scary.Everyone keep telling me to get Oscar's name down for pre-school/nursery and I've phoned them twice so far and they said to go and see them with his birth certificate when he's 2 and he shouldn't have any problems getting a place. It's also rather annoying as we'd love to move, but I can't see it happening too soon and we don't even know where we want to move to yet, which is a bit of a pain, school wise.

Report
Skyler · 24/09/2006 19:27

School is a whole new ball game for me. I have put dd2 down for the Nursery where dd1 goes to start when she is 2.5 (two afternoons) as dd1 had to wait to get in there and I love the place and wanted to make sure dd2 got in when I wanted. There is a school on the same site as the Nursery where I want dd1 to go but we are not in the catchment area and so although I will apply there are no guarantees. I know it will get worse as they get older and we could be moving every 3 years to complicate the matter. DH is out before secondary though so at least we shall be settled by then. My MIL has been obsessed by properties and school catchment areas and I am now beginning to pay some attention lol.

katzg · 24/09/2006 19:42

we got our primary application letter on saturday for DD1. She will go to the school which is attached to the pre-school she goes to 2 mornings a week. We put our bump down for the private nursery because it had limited spaces, but preschool/schools round here don't do waiting lists

Hello Ladies

Skylers de-lurk made me feel brave, so I thought I would pop my head in too! Congratulations to all the expectant Junies.

I have to say that we are having the same problems here with food. DD will eat any variation on toast (bagels, raisin bread, scotch pancakes & just toast), baguette (especially the top whilst still being wheeled around sainsburys in the trolley ), pitta and hummus, but as far as 'proper' food goes - at home it is dh's homemade chicken risotto with peas or pretty much nada. Thank goodness that she seems to eat pretty much anything at nursery (peer pressure I reckon).

I haven't really thought about school yet - the local primary is in special measures at the moment, which doesn't bode well.

Not even PG and I am knackered. DD has had evil cold/wheezy virus and we spent Tuesday night in hospital with her. Now I have it, but can't collapse of course and will have to go to work tomorrow as I was off with her all last week.

I will try not to leave it so long next time.

hey mandymac and skyler - good to hear from you.

i am back to report the power of mumsnet. ds had a proper tea tonight for the first time in ages - pasta with pesto and peas. so big thanks to sfx.

now i know little jonahb will only eat hummus sarnies - so that's on the menu for tomorrow.

tues will be chicken resotto a la mandymac.

wed will be giddy burgers.

by adding in the one dish that each Junie baby will still eat i reckon we could put together a whole week of meals.

Def recommend the giddy burgers, lummox - I had some mince so made beefburgers for ds today and he ate the lot, the first clear plate in ages! I've got some chickpeas and kidney beans in the cupboard too - anyone any good beanburger recipes?

Perhaps I should send Ds round to your house to polish off any more burgers you make-he's totally gone off my food and even left his liver casserole today, which is his fav.
Then again,he's back teeth are coming through at the mo and they're giving him some jip.

Hi Mandymac-Glad to see you've de-lurked.I did happen to read your other thread.Hope your dd is over the worst now.x

hi all, it feel like a long day! dd has been teething 5 on the go including 2 molars ouch!poor poppet.

hi mandymac nice to see you

lummox - happy to oblige, brilliant menu idea, have been scanning books for finger foods where one can hide protein.
2happy - dh has a great veggie bean burger recipe will ask when he stops swearing next door, apparently something wrong with a programme he is working on for a client(didn't know swearing worked for computers

bubb- oh the tiredness! send him out with ds and sleep guilt free, its a team effort is all i can say

katz - i guess by bump you mean dd2 and not katzie number3?!!

skyler- glad mr skyler is safe and sound

schools well i am quite obsessed really, my sister told me about nurseries attached to primary schools and primary schools which are given preference for secondary (head hurts)
there are a lot of good school around here but most have religious affiliation and i do not want that at least not for primary.

hope everyone else ok too

Report
katzg · 24/09/2006 20:56

yep i mean DD1 and DD2 we had their bumps down at nursery from 12weeks and 16 weeks respectively! no bump number 3 here, although DH is very clucky! i'm happy with 2 for now

Oooh, Katz, you got me really excited there for a minute!
Giddy at your randy perv. My poor DH really didn't get the chance with this pgy. On the last occasion we (ahem) tried a lot. This time round. Once was all it took . Think he's a little disappointed he didn't get to practice a little more
