New thread!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
TobyLerone · 23/08/2014 11:32

Ugh, MyThree, what a nightmare. DH really ought to come home sooner. You poor thing Flowers

enormouse · 23/08/2014 13:48

Oh my3 sounds awful. Is she ok now?

Hey guys
I'm back and quite considerably better. Thank you altered for your lovely pm. Both boys have been a little trying today, but thanks to the ads and improving my lifestyle the black monster is being kept at bay.

AnotherStitchInTime · 23/08/2014 14:00

Cripes My three that sounds scary, glad she is ok. Do they think it is viral? Your DH should come home, spell it out to him.

No teeth here yet either, but gum fully split open so won't be long.

MrsGSR · 23/08/2014 15:12

Congratulations Felix!

Glad you're feeling better enormous

Flowers to Toby and your DD, and Mythree

Lost the old thread and have only just found this one, so haven't posted in a while! L has one tooth on the bottom, it came through 2 weeks ago but no sign of the other one yet. She is also crawling, getting faster every day!

TobyLerone · 23/08/2014 18:13

Welcome back, enormouse and MrsG :)

Eek. Consultant called and they want to see DD tomorrow. They're going to take her cast off and decide whether or not to operate.

Gettingthroughthis · 23/08/2014 19:09

enormouse glad you are feeling a bit better :)

mythree that must of been scary. You're going amazing coping on your own. Dh owes you!

toby fingers crossed for a quick recovery

Henry's head is getting close to the top of this car seat (at 6.5 months). He is 9kg so we can move up to next seat so have been looking at maxi cosi pearl (to go on the same isofix base we bought for the pebble we have now) but you can only use it on isofix base not seatbelt. The seatbelt ones can't be used with isofix base. We hardly ever use it with seatbelt but always think it's handy if going in a different car, taxi etc. has anyone with any experience got any advice please? Also were keeping current one for as long as possible as pearl is forward facing which I'm not keen on but will need to get it soon

AMillionNameChangesLater · 23/08/2014 19:24

The flights have been booked, I've chosen our meals, put in the passport details and I am looking forward to going.

The replacement certificates dh needed have arrived, so we'll be sending away for the passport on Tuesday again. Fingers crossed!

Gettingthroughthis · 23/08/2014 19:28

Ooh fingers crossed million and if the worst comes to the worst still have an amazing time :)

TobyLerone · 23/08/2014 20:24

I'd advise a huge NO to forward facing if not absolutely necessary. If you want to scare yourself, look up YouTube videos for crash tests of small babies in FF seats.

TarkaTheOtter · 23/08/2014 22:03

getting could you try a group 0+/1 seat to keep H rf a bit longer. We used the britax first class with dd. It's rf to 13kg and then ff to 18kg. It's seatbelt only though. Especially once ff it's very easy to install so quick to move between cars.
Agree with toby about keeping rf as long as possible - the UK is really behind compared to other countries about legislating on this but I think even in the UK they are switching to 13kg/1 yr soon.

Sorry to hear about your surprise A&E trip mythree. I also think your DH is being a bit of a knob. I thought he had taken your DSes with him!

Hope things go all right with the consultant tomorrow toby.

Glad you are both back enormouse and MrsG.

We have the Britax First Class too for DD tarka. It really is excellent, I only wish I could have brought it out here. Slightly panicking about the car seat situation here but desperate to keep N rear facing.

Hope the passport makes it in time million. Definitely call the office direct number (not the pointless hotline) to hurry them up too though.

Gettingthroughthis · 24/08/2014 07:18

Thank you for the recommendation, I've just looked up that Britax car seat and it's only £100 in kiddicare (£50 cheaper than pearl) so think we might go for it :)

alteredimages · 24/08/2014 08:26

Great! My DD is short but quite chunky and still uses the britax first class now she is 4.

Gettingthroughthis · 24/08/2014 08:45

altered Henry is quite long (very tall dad) and chunky and his head is already getting close to the top of our uppababy pram, obviously not a safety issue like car seat but not sure what I'll do when he outgrows it. Might just have to remove the hood so his head can poke out and hope it doesn't rain!

alteredimages · 24/08/2014 09:47

What a pain! I never had a pram or travel system, just a cheap fold up. Again, DD properly grew out of it only a couple of months ago when she hit 96cm. She was only 75cm at 15 months though.

Angelesque · 24/08/2014 09:54

getting that's interesting about the Vista - part of the reason we got it is because we expected it to last at least until he's two... He's about 72cm long at the mo I think and there seems to be some room to grow but maybe not as much as I'd hoped! Eek! I suppose it has been a great pram so far so I'll try not to get too upset if he grows out of it too soon...

TobyLerone · 24/08/2014 10:44

DD1 is waiting to go to theatre. My XH is here, which is as lovely as could be expected Hmm

AMillionNameChangesLater · 24/08/2014 11:01

I hope it goes well Toby

enormouse · 24/08/2014 11:13

Thinking of you Toby.

Have to get the boys ready to go to Sunday lunch at DPs parents. But I'll be back later to write a longer post.

Hope everyone's doing ok.

Angelesque · 24/08/2014 11:49

Hope all goes well Toby and she's bouncing round again in no time

BookTart · 24/08/2014 15:30

How is she toby? Hope it all went well and you're all home soon.

I've been ignoring the car seat thing. Luckily, P is short like both her parents, so no need to move up yet. I want to keep her rear facing, but our car has doors that open the wrong way so I won't be able to get her out unless I can find a swivelly one.

DH has pissed me off massively for a change. I was looking for some nice warm slippers for P in town, and he piped up that 'mummy should get her finger out and crochet you some'. So, I sat down to crochet some, knowing full well it wouldn't be possible, even if he was looking after her. Lo and behold, I hadn't even finished the second row before she'd fallen and hurt herself twice Angry. The slippers have been frogged, and DH is having a much deserved nap Angry x a million. TOOL.

AnotherStitchInTime · 24/08/2014 15:34

Hope dd is ok Toby, thinking of you all.

Book does he not watch her then, when he is looking after her?

TobyLerone · 24/08/2014 15:43

She's good thanks. Going home soon :)

Your DH is a knob, book. You know this already. Also, Sainsbury's have some Ugg boot type slippers and 25% off til tomorrow.

Gettingthroughthis · 24/08/2014 15:49

toby glad she's ok

book I've just had similar. Dh has bought this new Bluetooth speaker and has it on far too loud, I have a banging headache so he said to go to bed for a nap. So I did, not that I can sleep anyway with disco on but nice to have a rest. 5 mins later he's bought h up off me to look after for 1 minute apparently and has said it would be nice if I go down and talk to them. Thought it was too good to be true. Lucky he's pretty :)

Gettingthroughthis · 24/08/2014 15:51

He's now playing the frozen song which he must of downloaded ha ha Grin
