Henry got 2 wonky teeth at just under 6 months

beccajoh · 21/08/2014 12:24

Rarrrrr. MIL is here helping out today (I'm still unable to look after the kids). Just come downstairs to witness her feeding Archie mashed roast dinner (she brought a plate of left-overs this morning), including Paxo stuffing and Bisto gravy, both of which are high in salt. I'm not especially PFB about what my children eat, but do draw the line at salt. Based on what she said she'd put in I reckon he's had about two days' worth of salt for his lunch Angry She's normally really good about this sort of thing so not sure why she did it. She's actually quite militant about salt in her own diet! Ho hum. Going to offer him plenty of water this afternoon.

ouch becca although I've fed Henry both of those things, when he has those, I make sure he just has baby jars for the rest of the day to cancel it out iyswim.

Dh has just had his letter back from the passport company

"Passport office have sent back name change A to B because it is a photocopy they cant accept it.

It's from the internet so I don't really understand what I am meant to send.

Also I have to send proof of mums name changes from B to C.

I'm not coming. No way will I get it in time for either week."

I'm really annoyed. I told him months ago he would prob be asked for the info about his mom, but he didn't believe me. I was asked for that stuff so it was a fair bet!

So he isn't coming on holiday with us. Which is really upsetting. He won't see DS1 on his 3rd birthday and we don't get time together as a family. I'm still going to go, everyone is really looking forward to it, but I really don't like him right now. I told him to get the passport at the beginning of the year and he didn't.

beccajoh · 21/08/2014 12:40

Million that's really rubbish of him. What a wally. Sorry he's been so crap and he won't be on your holiday.

TobyLerone · 21/08/2014 13:11

million, that really is crap :(

M is 7.5 months and has no teeth.

beccajoh · 21/08/2014 13:39

Salt-gate continues. Turns out the dinner was left-overs given to them by a neighbour Confused I tasted the leftover mash and it tastes of salt. I am being precious, I know. Feeling very Angry

Hmm.

I didn't think to check the Paxo salt content and P loves it Blush I think I should take more notice of salt levels, but I don't really know how much is okay.

Percy got her two front teeth the day before she turned 7 months. I was hoping it'd be later to be honest and so were my nipples Doesn't matter if they are late though, surely? They'll arrive at some point.

P's nappy rash is subsiding, but she's still got an upset stomach. 14 dirty nappies yesterday! She's fine otherwise though. It is most odd. It meant she's been a bit of a TB in front of two friends that haven't seen her since birth though :(

Gettingthroughthis · 21/08/2014 15:10

becca I give h whatever I eat and try not to put salt in but I give him most things ( including bisto) as the guideline (I think) is 1.5g which is actually quite a bit when you think how much they actually eat

million that's very crap I'm sorry he's been an arse

Just sat in orthodontists about to get the rest of my braces which will take about an hour and h won't sleep but is tired so
Is whinging. Wish me luck! Especially as last time the orthodontist said are you sure he'll be quiet when she saw him... Um no he's a 6 month old baby, I have no bloody idea what he'll do!

BandontheFun · 21/08/2014 15:46

Hi just checking in, not been on in ages! Sorry about the lack of sleep for some of you, H is definitely sleeping less than before. More waking at night. Think it's being in her own room that's set her back.

H is 7months and has 6 teeth, three at the top and three at the bottom, she has been ok considering, but it seems to be giving her jip today, had to go to the pharmacy today in the heavy rain for more teething gel, I got soaked. They need to invent a umbrella that leaves your hands free that doesn't look really stupid.

The whole food thing is a nightmare, there's is salt in everything. H isn't really eating anything other than purées of veg and fruit yet but started giving her weatabix for breakfast, she hates the baby porridge, didn't even think about salt content. Hopefully they are ok. Weaning is going pretty slowly for us, been trying to get less stressy about it. Must try and give her more finger food.

Gettingthroughthis · 21/08/2014 16:11

I've just been giving h normal porridge oats (checked no salt). Is this ok?

He was perfect at the orthodontist, fell asleep just before I went in then slept for most of it. Once he woke up he just played with his socks :)

beccajoh · 21/08/2014 17:04

It's 1g of salt per day for babies... Per stuffing ball (Paxo!) is 0.5g of salt according to Tescos.

What a legend getting.

becca I hear your concerns. My MIL keeps trying to add salt to N's food "so he'll eat it" Confused and thinks I am making it up that babies aren't supposed to have lots of salt. If A didn't have much though I wouldn't worry. Like million said, just try and keep the rest of his meals as close to zero salt as possible.

million that sucks. It must be so disappointing. Sad not sure if there's time but when I had to send additional docs for N's application they issued the passport the day after receiving them. If he is at the Durham office there is a direct number on threads in the travel forum.

I think N will be 8 months before he gets his first tooth. He seems to be teething at the moment and keeps nutting me. It's really sore!

alteredimages · 21/08/2014 17:19

X post. How many balls did he eat becca?

alteredimages · 21/08/2014 17:21

book that upset stomach sounds rubbish. Hope she is better soon. 14 nappies is an awful lot!

Angelesque · 21/08/2014 18:43

million that really sucks :( can he pull a miracle out of the bag?

F got two teeth the day before he turned four months... No more since then though...

Naturegirl82 · 21/08/2014 19:28

million that really sucks I'm sorry.

O will be 7 months Saturday and no teeth yet. She has just started babbling though Smile

I've had a headache since 5pm yesterday. Feel like my eyes are going to explode. Paracetamol and ibuprofen aren't shifting it at all Sad

AMillionNameChangesLater · 21/08/2014 20:08

Nah Angel there's no chance. Really not at all. I'm resigned now and he admits he's a prat who should have sorted this sooner.

As he needs his mom's marriage certificates they have to be ordered. His mom has fast tracked them and we need to give her the £50 back. Which ticks me off as I really dislike the woman and I hate being in debt.

So fun!

Ds1 and Henry both went down at 6.30 tonight, they both seem wiped. I'm hoping its not too much to an early one tomorrow.

AMillionNameChangesLater · 21/08/2014 20:09

Ouch nature do you think you should see a Dr? It doesn't sound good

Naturegirl82 · 21/08/2014 20:22

Don't know million, I'll see how I am tomorrow. Think I'd feel a little silly going for a headache. Hoping I sleep tonight though. Have to go shopping tomorrow as need to try on a bridesmaids dress.

AnotherStitchInTime · 21/08/2014 22:42

Thanks for the new thread.

Teething and hourly wake ups here too. First tooth about to cut as the gum is splitting open now. Funnily enough M likes his mattress lower because he can see his sisters playing better with the base down a level.

MerryPops · 21/08/2014 23:12

No teeth here. I think I can see a bottom one soon to come through but nothing yet. Minipops is 7 months on the 1st. Got a couple of cold weather items out today, and warm hat and mittens purchased for our walk in Dalby Forest on Saturday, expect it will be quite cool in the shade. The hat has excellent cute comedy value.

Mythreeknights · 22/08/2014 00:21

Hi ladies, I have been browsing but not posting the last few months...too much going on (good things!) and nothing very interesting to say. But thought I would post as it's gone midnight and little Lucy has been bawling since seven pm, torrents of water coming down her nose and out her mouth...she has been in three sleep suits which I have to keep to keep drying with a hair dryer. No idea what is wrong, other than teething, but she already has a tooth and there were none of these shenanigans with that one! Wondering whether it may be related to either starting nursery and picking something up or to her third set of injections which she only had last week (staff cuts at surgery over the summer months, helpfully). Am impressed so many of yours are mobile...Lucy can't even sit up without falling over, or even roll!!! She's sitting on her baby chair eating a biscuit watching me snow I type,, but each time i put her to bed she howls the house down. Not sure I can handle our weekend away in Cumbria tomorrow with all this going on.

Mythreeknights · 22/08/2014 00:22

Also, am yet to lower her mattress, (not an issue yet as she is so immobile) but think I will soon, just to keep up!

AMillionNameChangesLater · 22/08/2014 07:29

Morning!
Henry is still asleep! I wont see him really today as dh is taking the boys to the family meal (that I'm refusing to go to as his mother is a cow and told everyone that I was sexually abused etc) so dh is going to email pictures. They'll be home pretty late.
So I'm going to watch crap tv and cross stitch #hardcore.

I have my review at work today so I got up early and did my hair properly. So I've got a taxi to work so my hair doesn't mess up.

Best of luck with teething babies etc today

TobyLerone · 22/08/2014 08:11

Hi, MyThree. Poor Lucy, and poor you!

Enjoy your day, million. DH's mum sounds like a cow!

I have a headache this morning. I've had it since yesterday. Got to take DD to the fracture clinic today, and then do a lovely 60-odd mile round trip to take the teenagers to XSIL's so they can go camping for the weekend. Joy.
