I reckon we could potty train DD if we put a bit of effort in, but every time we ask her it's a resounding no!

Yawn. Up at 23.30, 1.30, 2.00 for nearly two hours, 5.00, then he was awake for the day at 5.45. We ignored the chatting for 15 mins then got him up and laid him on our bed in front of cartoons whilst DH and I tried to get a bit more sleep. DD woke at 6.15 shouting "TUCK ME IN!", which I did and she's still asleep now.

Archie full of beans. TB.

Ds1 peed in our bed this morning. He climbed in, got comfy, then said "I do a wee and a poo" and he had weed in our bed. Not fun!

enormouse · 27/08/2014 11:14

Well at least he told you million. Though it is icky.

Day 2 of potty training. No pees in the potty. One small accident. It's going to be a long day. Thank God I invested in a steam mop, dp said I was being ridiculous buying it but I knew it would be a worthwhile investment.

AnotherStitchInTime · 27/08/2014 11:33

No sign of interest in actually potty training here with dd2 too Becca. She says sometimes when she has done a wee or poo and asks sometimes to use the toilet/potty, but when she says no to a nappy and you say right then you have to use the toilet she says no. Dd1 was out of nappies by 2, but dd2 seems to have regressed since ds came along.

Well done to your ds's million and * enormouse , you are bound to have good and bad days. Shame about the bed though, maybe put waterproof sheets on your bed too temporarily? We had a lovely incident when dd1 was training and refusing to pooin the potty which resulted in poo smeared toys, carpet and a play tent, actually why am I in a rush to train dd2 again?!

enormouse · 27/08/2014 12:09

Christ, I'm exhausted. Have been trying to get DS1 to stay on the potty longer than 10 seconds every 15 minutes. He's gone up for a pre lunch snooze.

I need a scotch. Fuck. It's too early.

I'll have a strong cup of tea and some of the chocolate bourbons I've hidden for emergencies.

Gettingthroughthis · 27/08/2014 13:31

enormouse that sounds like a plan! Wish I had biscuits

AnotherStitchInTime · 27/08/2014 13:39

Ah biscuits yes, ds seems to be cutting two teeth not one today and dd2 had a bad night of sleep apnoea too. 5 hours broken sleep is not enough.

AMillionNameChangesLater · 27/08/2014 17:34

Apparently potty training isn't going well. He's at nursery tomorrow so I didn't see the point in starting now, but still, no matter.

Work has been pants. So looking forward to getting home and watching bake off.

TobyLerone · 27/08/2014 21:07

Are you RAGING about Freezergate on GBBO, million? We all are!

Naturegirl82 · 27/08/2014 21:15

raging here about it toby. On what level is it ok to take someone's ice cream out of a freezer!

Been awol as thought I needed some downtime from screens/TV to try and get rid of my pesistant headache. Seems to have worked and nothing to do with wearing my glasses like I'm meant to!

Popping into work tomorrow to finalise things before I go back on Monday. O coped well with a whole day at MIL's today which has put my mind at ease a bit.

Paid for my new car today. Pick it up after work on Monday Grin

AMillionNameChangesLater · 27/08/2014 21:20

I've not yet seen it! Will do tomorrow though. Is it worse than last year's custard-gate?

Naturegirl82 · 27/08/2014 21:39

million much worse Shock

TobyLerone · 27/08/2014 22:26

Yep. Way worse.

Gettingthroughthis · 28/08/2014 08:29

Haven't seen it yet but apparently it was down to editing and was only out of freezer for 40 seconds.

I've extended my 2 weeks holiday by another day to eek out every last bit of maternity leave. Don't want to go back!

Swannykazoo · 28/08/2014 08:38

That sounds better - I really felt sorry for hipster Ian.
My outlaws are here. They are pains. I'm at work at 8am even though have an admin morning. Bake off comment last night "oh they only make fattening food tut" Its not bloody Great British Salad off....and breathe.....

Gettingthroughthis · 28/08/2014 08:46

Great British salad off ha ha!

beccajoh · 28/08/2014 08:49

Everyone had a lie-in this morning! DS until 7.30 and DD until almost 8!! Unfortunately we were up in the night, dummy at 2.30 & 5.30 and milk at 3, but at least we weren't up at the crack of dawn as well. Archie is sitting really well now. Still wobbles over and head butts the carpet sometimes but unless he lands on his nose it doesn't seem to bother him. He's DESPERATE to crawl. He's got the push-ups down to a fine art and is trying hard to get his knees up underneath him.

OP posts:
Gettingthroughthis · 28/08/2014 08:57

That's great becca

Henry's is still up every 2 hours, sometimes just for dummy and sometimes for milk so I've started giving him water instead. Wondering whether I should try and wean him off the dummy?

beccajoh · 28/08/2014 09:09

I hate the dummy too and have been wondering about getting rid, but not entirely sure how to go about it, other than just taking it away? That'll go down like a ton of bricks Confused

OP posts:
Gettingthroughthis · 28/08/2014 16:13

I forgot Henry's dummy when we went out today so when he got tired he went to sleep with a Sophie the giraffe leg in his mouth instead, maybe that's an option?!

AMillionNameChangesLater · 28/08/2014 19:29

Just watched it!

Sabotage!

Gettingthroughthis · 28/08/2014 19:39

I've just bought a bunny comforter that you attach the dummy to to make it easier for them to find, can't see it helping but it has good reviews so worth a try!

Henry usually goes to sleep fine but was crying tonight and I left him to upset cry for 10 minutes I was on the loo Blush then went and put his dummy in and he went straight to sleep after looking very sad. I now want to wake him up for a cuddle so he isn't sad in his sleep. Pfb?

beccajoh · 28/08/2014 20:01

No I'd want to do the same and Archie's my second. PSB perhaps. In reality if you did wake him up to try and make him happy he'd probably be more upset about being woken up unnecessarily!

Had a lovely cuddle with Himself today. MIL was entertaining DD so I let him fall asleep on me Envy He's never been a Velcro baby so we usually put him down in his cot for naps, but I enjoyed the sleepy baby cuddle so much I might do it more often.

OP posts:
Naturegirl82 · 28/08/2014 20:08

Apparently Diana left GBBO. She was ill and nothing to do with ice-creamgate!

Popped into work today to see the new office and get a few bits sorted before I go back on Monday. Not sure how I'm feeling about it all now!

Had my hair cut tonight and not sure I like it Confused Think I need to wash and dry it myself to see how I feel about it.

Gettingthroughthis · 28/08/2014 20:32

becca sleepy baby cuddles are the best. We often nap on sofa in afternoon together. I'm going to miss that going back to work.

nature haircuts are always like that, I'm sure it'll look lovely once you wash it

Right I must stop updating today or I'll fill the thread up on my own!
