Toby, Henry is the same! He's also started saying "da-da, da da" git.

Henry is also eating really well now, he's into 3-6 month clothes, about 14lb and on three meals a day. Makes me happy. He just doesn't seem keen on milk, which is tough as he needs to drink more.

I'm looking into a third birthday party for ds1, and sending dh's away for dh's passport this week. Hoping it comes back by beginning of Sept so we can all go to Oman together, else I'll be flying with two small children alone. Which should be interesting

MerryPops · 14/07/2014 11:00

book I second humpty on the cot in own room, X sleeps so much better on his own. It is hard with the clothes isn't it? I don't think we're having another but I have kept a couple of bits and then the rest are in my mum's shed as I can't bear to get rid completely just yet.

We're still a couple of weeks off full on weaning I think, X like sucking on the spoon but has no idea to do with stuff I put on his tray.

puggle that sounds pretty grim about the poo flinging but I have to admit it did make me chuckle, sorry!

million good news about H!

X started going "mu-ma mu-ma" when he's upset. I don't think he associates it with me necessarily, just a new noise he's making, but it's not nice when he's screaming it in the back of the car and there's nowhere to pull over.

Not a lot happening this week apart from swimming this afternoon, and Tiny Explorers baby group Thurs. This could be my last week at baby group as it finishes for the school hols and I will be working full days on Thurs by September, boo. I try to take X out in the afternoons as Dh tends to stay in with him in the mornings watching inappropriate dvds, think the park and seaside are in order with the nice weather. Fortunately living on the East Coast the seaside is an easy option.

million please choose the one week service for your dh's passport. Since early May the waits for passports have often exceeded a month and applying online slows it more apparently. We waited 14 weeks for N's passport. Shock

DD will be 4 in two weeks and I am not sure what to do party wise. At home she will be bored, out will be either expensive or too hot. Hmmm.

Are all of you cooking without salt? N attacked my chicken soup last night and I let him eat it. I am hoping a one off will be ok, though I won't be doing it again. Veg is still a no no, but he liked sucking on chicken and has been lunging (unsuccessfully) for cupcakes.

AMillionNameChangesLater · 14/07/2014 14:59

I think we will altered, even check and send doesn't guarantee anything nowadays. Henry's passport arrived at the passport office on 3 July. Hopefully will be back in time. We wont be booking flights until they get back

We don't really cook with salt that after, but Henry eats what we eat. I figure using salted butter on his toast isn't going to hurt him if he doesn't have any other salt .

TobyLerone · 14/07/2014 16:16

I'm not cooking with salt, but I'm also not really stressing about it. The amount she would consume is tiny. If I were to put a tsp of salt in the water for pasta for 4 of us (M not included) and she ate maybe 10 pieces, it would be negligible.

AMillionNameChangesLater · 14/07/2014 16:56

Thinking about it, Henry has also had honey. Not just cheerios, but sauce with honey in it. A whole grain mustard, milk, cream, and honey sauce. He wolfed it down.

i hadn't remembered it has honey in it, even though i had made it.

Spged · 14/07/2014 23:07

Puggle - we are signed up to do sing and sign after the summer and had a trial class last week. C was on poor form as she'd missed a nap and squawked and fed the whole class but it was nice and relaxed and quite personal too. I'm slightly worried about my ability to remember all of the signs to the songs and I think you have to use them pretty constantly at home for the babies to get it but we'll give it a go. A friend's DD did baby sign and I just loved how much she could communicate before she could talk and she had such a lot she wanted to say.

C rolled onto her front for the first time today and DH and I both missed it. I was sorting out her nappies and DH was pratting about on the iPad. Rage!

MrsGSR · 14/07/2014 23:09

Leah is saying 'mumumum' when she cries, unfortunately I don't think I can count it as her first word

I can't remember who had the nappy explosion, but you have my sympathies! We had a similar event, also in our bed! I've bought a washable mattress topper incase it happens again (which is also really comfy)

Poor little thing had a temperature of 39.1 this evening, so we ended up at the ooh GP again. No sign of anything serious so just keeping an eye on her and making neurotic tables of symptoms

Gettingthroughthis · 15/07/2014 09:22

Ah I can't wait for any type of mmm noise here. Whenever I do it Henry just laughs so don't think he's in any rush.

humpty could the poos be due to teething? I know not all doctors agree but Henry is the same. He's gone from once a day to at least 6. It's a pain in the arse. To make things easier have you tried a bundler for night time changes? It's like a nighty and so much easier than sleepsuits. Henry has then in white and looks like he's going to be christened. Very cute

I'm a very inconsistent weaner (that sounds v odd!) and only feed him if I / we feel like it. Stops it being a chore but I suppose I should get a bit more into a routine

Gettingthroughthis · 15/07/2014 09:26

Also it's mine and dhs 3 year anniversary today and I think we're going to be ok :)

TobyLerone · 15/07/2014 09:27

Proper pyjamas make nighttime changes easier too.

M has taken to making a mmmmmmmmm noise when she's whinging. And she's started sucking in her bottom lip or pouting like she's taking a fb selfie :o

TobyLerone · 15/07/2014 09:28

Happy anniversary, getting. Hope it all works out as you want it to :)

alteredimages · 15/07/2014 09:56

Happy anniversary getting. Glad things are getting better. Smile

I am also only feeding N when I can be bothered, but when I do the poos are indeed spectacular.

He had a week long babbling phase a couple of weeks ago but seems to have gotten bored now and reverted to screeching.

Swannykazoo · 15/07/2014 10:05

Spged - I actually enjoyed myself at baby sign. We mostly did animal signs and played with instruments but it was very non woo. I'm quite sad I can't do the 10 week course. Hoping DH might step up...
Glad you enjoyed the poo story - it was so awful I just laughed too

I was tinkering with weaning but have noticed a big difference now I've tried to do every meal-much more eaten and less boob required. ( Still a bit stumped by breakfast though, can only manage mine!)

AMillionNameChangesLater · 15/07/2014 17:35

Henry has been discharged from the paediatrician at 14lb7!

alteredimages · 15/07/2014 19:06

Great news million! That must be a big relief. Go Henry!

MerryPops · 15/07/2014 20:47

Lots of good news today, glad things are better getting and so pleased to hear about Henry million.

I cockled in the garden this afternoon and fell into our rockery. Who needs the top few layers of skin anyway?!

A friend has just posted a picture of her new kitchen kit, the Spiralizer. Turns veggies into pretty shapes. Definitely on my shopping list I'm not sad at all Grin

FelixFelix · 15/07/2014 21:41

Merry my friend introduced me to the spiraliser this weekend!!! I NEED ONE!

Getting I'm so glad things are going well for you. I think about how you guys are quite often so it's good to hear Smile

Million that's brilliant news! You must be so pleased!

Sorry I've been away this weekend and had a quick read. On the app so can't remember what everyone said!!

It's DP's birthday today and we have been at his parents since Sunday. Went to Bamburgh yesterday which was beautiful. I can't believe there's a beach so nice with clear blue water in the north east Shock then went for a meal last night. He's gone out on his bike tonight so I'm watching big brother. How sad Grin

AMillionNameChangesLater · 15/07/2014 22:07

Merry and Felix - I think it's pampered chef! I have one!

I grew up not too far away felix the beaches are so beautiful, and the water so clear

FelixFelix · 15/07/2014 22:54

Million you're so lucky! I hope we can move up north soon as id love for Sylvie to grow up by the coast.

Gettingthroughthis · 16/07/2014 08:50

Thank you everyone :)

Woo well done Henry! :)

Getting 2 teeth out today (then another 2 out on Friday) ready for my braces. Am I naive stupid to hope Henry will sit quietly in his car seat while I have it done?!

alteredimages · 16/07/2014 09:15

Well, DD birthday dilemma solved here. She has just said she wants to "go to the sillyma with mine friends and have crispmas and cockporn.".

I don't think a tea party can really compete, can it?

Gettingthroughthis · 16/07/2014 09:36

Cockporn ha ha ha :)

Angelesque · 16/07/2014 10:05

Ahahaha cockporn!!!
