Bugger. Its Juniper. I might just keep this name now.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 12/05/2015 07:53

Juniper/Rat what a gorgeous picture! Ah, if anything was going to persuade me that DC2 is a good idea, I think that's it. Grin

DH was unceremoniously woken up at quarter to five this morning by DS tipping a bottle of water over him. Something I've been tempted to do many times! Never seen him jump out of bed so fast.

JuniperTisane · 12/05/2015 08:13

Grin The other 23 hours 59 minutes they are fighting, mind.

Tugstonia · 12/05/2015 08:34

Congratulations meringue!! Beautiful name. I hope you're out of hospital soon Flowers Brew What does your DS make of his little sister? DD2 is more awake in the day and asleep at night now, so the nocturnal waking will change soon I promise!

Am still breastfeeding with shields because haven't been able to latch her on again (bfeeding group no help unfortunately Sad) but finding the shields such a pain in the backside to use. Oh well. She is also very colicky and sicky the poor mite. But she's been smiling at us for the last few days which is very lovely Smile

Glorious have an amazing holiday! E looks adorable in her summer garb and the playpark sounds fantastic. I went to KL for work a few years ago and loved it.

Let us know how the Groclock works for you cupcakes. Am considering getting one but not sure DD1 will be convinced by it.

Lovely pic Juniper. Hoping my girls will be best of friends eventually.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 12/05/2015 09:11

Tugs DS is very excited about his Gro Clock ("stars mummy STARS!!!!") but obviously it's very early days yet. He woke up 4 minutes before the sun came up this morning so I went in and sat with him and told him he had to wait for the sun. He laid back down and stared as his clock and when the sun came up he sat up again, but obviously wasn't quite sure! He's not woken up considerably earlier than the sun yet so we'll see how that goes.

Sorry the BFing isn't going great - how did you get on with DD1? I had an awful time with DS (honestly - the pain from BFing was worse than the pain I had in labour!) and very nearly gave up but here we are 2 years later and STILL BFing...

AppleCrumples · 13/05/2015 14:37

Hello all

Lovely pic juniper. It's the 1 minute of peace that makes it all worthwhile!

Tugs sorry bf not going well, hope things improve for you but you could always ff.

Take That last night. It was brilliant. My throat hurts from singing but it was great. Always a brilliant show. Was so excited yesterday I could have burst :) Star ooh I want to go again!

meringue33 · 14/05/2015 05:06

Hi everyone
We made it out of hospital after 24 hrs so feeling a bit brighter now!
Who said they went to the Eden project? I love that place!!
Find name changes hard Jun, mostly I think of people as their original name but sometimes recently have realised I have lost track of who is who!
Love the cute pic.
Tugs hope you're good. I had a great breastfeeding counsellor out this morning, she is in a new post funded by nhs since January this year (no such support when I had dc1). As a result I've had a lovely day of largely pain free bf, and she's corrected some postural issues I've had since feeding DC1.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 14/05/2015 11:24

Ooh Apple my friend was supposed to be going to see Take That but was ill and couldn't go! Bet it was amazing.

Meringue glad things are going better. How fabulous to have a BF councillor to help out.

DS headbutted me in the mouth this morning. He has a tooth shaped indent on his forehead. I have a headache.

JuniperTisane · 15/05/2015 07:48

Dan: Mummy. Mummy. Mummy! Mummy! Mummy!! Mummy!! Mum!!! Mummy!!!!.....
Me: Yes? Hmm
Dan:

Five minutes later: Mummy. Mummy, Mum! Mummy!......

Angry

Ouch Apples. Hope the head is alright now. I remember standing outside Maidstone Studios the first time round in about 1993 waiting for Take That to finish up sm:tv live. I was one of the original TT screaming hoards.

Dan had his 2yr check yesterday which was all fine. He was weighed and measured for the first time since 12 weeks old. Turns out he's still little and light Smile.

JuniperTisane · 15/05/2015 07:49

Cupcakes, not Apples. Sorry.

SnozzberryPie · 15/05/2015 08:53

Glad you are out of hospital meringue, and bfing is working out.

It was me who went to the Eden project, it was great. They had a half price entry voucher in gardener's world magazine (not my usual reading!) If anyone's interested in going and it is valid for a year.

Dd is currently asking 'what's that' constantly, on repeat. Then telling me I am wrong.
Eg
What's that mummy?
A cat
No mummy, tiger.
What's that mummy?
Erm, tiger?
No mummy, cat.

Etc.

AppleCrumples · 15/05/2015 19:53

Cupcakes your poor friend :( she missed an absolute treat. Am taking ds2 to see a live broadcast of the show in the local cinema in June. He really wanted to go to the concert so this is next best. He doesn't know though, it's a surprise for him :)

Grin juniper I made my mum and sister come with me to see them at crystal palace in 93. Couldn't see anything through the crowds and got sun burnt but at least I breathed the same air as them Confused Feel quite old now I realise that was over 20 years ago Shock

Meringue glad you are home and getting things settled.

Snozberry that conversation sounds familiar...

lollipoppi · 18/05/2015 17:40

Juniper, DD does exactly the same
Another of her favourites is
Mummy
Yes
Milk/Apple/juice/ ect ect
Ok (go and get it)
NO!!!!!! Confused

Dd has finally had her ears done today, seriously I've never seen such big lumps of black dried up blood and wax come out of such tiny ears, the sporners on here would have loved it!!
As far as he can see there is no further damage but has referred her for a hearing test as a precaution

meringue33 · 20/05/2015 03:14

Ooh poor wee thing Lolli hope it is all ok

Seriously fed up here. Phlebitis still really sore and now I have had a reaction to the antibiotics. Covered in an awful rash, the itching is driving me crazy.

Oh and baby has been cluster feeding since 10pm and won't stop. DH in other room with DS who I can hear tantrumming because he wants to be in here.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 20/05/2015 07:51

Sorry you're not feeling well meringue. DS was an awful cluster feeder for 5 weeks - I thought it would never end! And I didn't have to worry about another one at the same time. Hope you all got some sleep.

Lolli you should have sounded the and taken pics! Gutted.

DS tried to climb into his buggy this morning and tipped it over on to himself, smacking his head on the concrete in the process. I felt awful. Poor mite was sobbing and now I'm at work and he's in nursery. I expect he's forgotten all about it but I'm going to be stressing all morning. Which is ridiculous because DH told nursery all the details so they know to keep an eye on him and they're absolutely brilliant. So I shall just have to sit her and drink tea and try not to worry.

RatOnnaStick · 20/05/2015 12:41

Meringue poor you. Have you got some piriton to help the itch? Hopefully it will be cleared up soon and the cluster feeding will slow down a bit too. I well remember the days when I just couldn't put Dan down. DS1 got quite fed up and he did a lot of telling his brother to shut up when he wouldn't stop crying. I well remember him eatiing his dinner with the most miserable face on because of the constant crying. The sling was my salvation at this point. I could feed and have hands free. Probably not so easy with phlebitis though.

Lolli Dan has had two burst eardrums but we've never had to have the ears cleared. That sounds disgusting and fascinating all at once.

Nasty, Cupcakes He will have a nice bruise to show off later I expect.

I've just received details of DS1 starting school in September so I am sitting with calendar on the table trying to work out between the two of them transition sessions, open days, when I need the childminder for school pick ups, what day is best for after school swimming, when I can start concentrating on studying again and my head is spinning from all the stuff I have already forgotten.

Dan is now asleep so I'm off to drink hot chocolate and gorge on old episodes of ER.

RatOnnaStick · 20/05/2015 12:43

Oh! I have a custard tart in the fridge Grin

Little things....

meringue33 · 21/05/2015 03:33

Poor DS, Cupcakes!

Jun, bf in sling is advanced bf isn't it!! Not sure I'd be confident enough for that and yep waiting til leg is better before I break out the new Moby wrap (can't wait!)Smile

JuniperTisane · 21/05/2015 10:03

Ha! yeah it probably is. Not something to try til you're comfy with the sling. Glorious is much better at it than me though. I'm a bit cack-handed really.

meringue33 · 21/05/2015 14:42

Hehe I did try "biological nurturing" the other day and it sort of worked on one side

SnozzberryPie · 21/05/2015 22:26

Hello all. Had my 12 week scan today. Baby looked fine and was doing somersaults so just need to wait for the blood results now Smile

I could bf in a sling if I was sitting down and loosened one strap, but not on the move. I've got a ring sling now which might be good for bf as you carry them to one side??

glorious · 26/05/2015 07:42

Hello all, we're back. Had a great time and E was really good on the flights. Hopefully none of us will get dengue fever now...

juniper I love that picture, so beautiful.

Congratulations meringue, lively name.

And glad your scan went well snozz

I'm not sure I really deserve that write up for bf in slings! Just got a lot of practice with a constantly feeding baby... at a younger age I found my woven wraps the easiest to feed in as they're infinitely adjustable and more supportive than a stretchy. But now we use a soft structured carrier more and she does occasionally still feed in that. There are lots of you tube videos, I could try to dig out a good one if you like. That said I think it's much easier when they have head control and can latch more or less by themselves.
I think ring slings are good for feeding in but haven't tried.

lollipoppi · 26/05/2015 17:14

Snoz glad the scan went ok fingers crossed for the blood results

I got married on Saturday! We had the most amazing day, although we definitely underestimated what chaos making our own wedding flowers would be, it's safe to say I was not relaxing the night before and was still making arrangements and button holes until 11pm! The flowers were so nice though, after 14 years of making for other brides it was nice to make my own!

Back to reality now with two tantruming overtired children

glorious · 26/05/2015 17:47

Yay lolli congratulations! Any pics you can share (of the flowers maybe?!).

And I meant a lovely name rather than a lively one meringue...

lollipoppi · 26/05/2015 17:50

I'm not sure how to put pictures on here but I'm pretty sure you lot don't know me and won't stalk me Grin here's a link to my business facebook page www.facebook.com/pages/Hazel-Grove-Flowers/217753991657360 there are some pictures on there
