Oh, salt Sad. Do you have family / friends close by?

Report
mrsbug · 10/06/2014 13:30

Oh Salt I'm so sorry you are feeling down. Big birthdays are bad enough under normal circumstances so I'm not surprised that you are finding it hard.

Have you talked to any real life friends about how you are feeling?

Have you been offered any kind of bereavement counselling?

Report
Birdies · 10/06/2014 14:03

salt you poor thing. Sending you virtual hugs. It must be so normal to feel depressed after everything you've been through and especially after a birthday when you're meant to be all happy and celebrating when it's probably the last thing you feel like doing. Do you have people close by who are supportive? I think you'd said you has some lovely friends? I hope you feel able to tell them when you're having a particularly bad day.

Salt, I hope you and floss are ok, it's nice that you have RL support, don't be afraid to ask for help

DD is having her first settling in session at the childminders this morning, she went in quite happily and I left her playing in the garden. Ds1 is also at nursery, it felt very odd walking home with no children, I didn't know what to do with my hands without pushing a buggy.

OohQuack · 12/06/2014 23:58

Salt I'm so sorry.

Dexter a bolter too Mrs bugs, I've got a monkey back pack type thing with a long tail/handle but I've not used it yet, I need to remember to pack it in his bag. He's got yet another cold so the poor souls in bed coughing.

Nightmare next week I've got the housing association coming to take down and replace two ceilings ruined byleaks (tthey caused it so I'm making them fix it sods) they have asbestos in :/ how on earth do I find somewhere to put all the stuff in those rooms?!? Dexter rooms ok though so I don't have to try and get him sleep elsewhere thank god

Sounds rubbish Quack hooe you find domewhere to store it all. Asbestos is crap.

Wide awake at the mo, both boys are tossing amd turning a bit due i think to the warm nights and ds1 has already come to find me and been put back to bed a few minutes ago. Thought I might as well catch up while I wait for them to settle.

Quack do you have a spare room you can shove everythingin in and close the door? Otherwise you might have to use your room and sleep on Dexter's floor

Hello, lost you all again!

salt hope you are ok

lolli when dd1 stopped using the buggy it took ages to get used to no longer having anything to push after 8 years pushing them. was wierd!

oohquack no suggestions but sympathies, that sounds crap.

juniper all mine have been trouble at bedtime all week! Trying to decide if some need later bedtimes or its just the heat Hmm

Ivy has a cold and is a bit miserable (possibly through lack of sleep).

Ds2 has gone on a cub camp this weekend, its his first time away from home and the house is very quiet without him! I'm more worried about him than i am when ds1 goes as ds2 is, ummmm...a character Hmm I jump every time the phone rings!

JuniperTisane · 14/06/2014 21:40

I suspect Dan is like your DS2 Apples. He scares me he's so gung-ho at everything. Dangerous. We've already decided he will probably be a frequent A&E attender as he gets older Hmm

Report
OohQuack · 14/06/2014 21:42

I've had to ring them and change it to one room at a time, it's a three bed house and the two rooms that need doing are dbls, they won't fit into do dexter shoe box of a room :D it'll still be hassle but doable without tears I hope they've also broke the guttering so I'm having to get them to fix that next ffs.

I realise I have no idea about portion sizes for his foods,is there anywhere oonline that can teach/show me? He eats bits and bobs til I guess he's full if he stops but I don't know what sizes he can handle.I've got the karmic books they'll probably say something won't they?

oohquack so cute!

Mine arw finally asleep despite concerted efforts by next door to ensure we all stay up for tge football. Whoever thought a vuvuzela late at night was a good idea is likely to end up with it rammed somewhere Shock

Ivy up all snotty and too hot then dd1 got jealous and started acting up... then the worlds noisiest party kicked off. And we have to drive for an hour to pick ds2 up tomorrow.

Sorry for rant but am so angry theres steam coming out my ears!!!

Need Cake and Brew (wouls be Wine but am teetotal)

Hope everyone's had a nice weekend?

Apple I'm Angry on your behalf! That's terrible, if it happens again I would be tempted to send DH round ask them politely to STFU

DD is full of a cold, again. Ds1 had an appt with his asthma consultant this morning and DD was coughing so much the pead had a listen to her chest, she's wheezing Hmm they couldn't give me anything as she isn't under the hosp like ds1, but advised me to give her some of ds1 inhalers get her to the GP
Two coughing wheezy and miserable kids is no fun Hmm

Found you all! Love the title and hope you're all ok.

Molly is also often a bruised toddler mrsbug. It's been a while since the last bump but it seems a lot of them are in that explorer/no sense of fear phase. She is also still putting only disgusting new things in her mouth apple. The other day she was in a beautiful summer dress with flowers all over it. On closer inspection the whole thing was muddy up to her waist and arms were wet to the armpits from sticking her whole arm in a watering can over and over again. Delightful.

salt hope you are ok.

meringue how was the wedding??!

Sorry bout the coughs and sneezes - I'm home sick today. Quite sad it feels like such a luxury to lie about doing almost nothing most of the day.

Let's have a poll on the cute words they say or you get the just of should we include sign language or is that cheating?

Ewo....hello
Iya......hiya
P p p p p p....... Pingu
Whasziz...what's this? I usually spin round n see what he's up to when I hear this one else things could get catastrophic

Signs:
Hello/bye, dog, food, please, more, friends (thanks Mr tumble) monkey, duck, bird can't think of anymore

Is it sad that I'm keeping count and writing them all down at the moment? DS1 had one word at this point and only ten at 2yo so i'm just so amazed that Dan has enough sounds approximating words to have a list at all?

Anyway, my favourite are Wa! for wow and Gargn for garden (anywhere outside with greenery). Karka for banana and Kak! for quack.

He's currently sitting up in his cot having just let out the most enormous burp which made him laugh and now he has hiccups and is giggling inbetween each one Grin

Hope the kids are feeling a bit better Lolli. Lovely picture Quack, I might go and dig a new one out in a bit.

Hi everyone....I've been crazy busy so sorry for vanishing (if anyone even noticed, haha). Anyone want a job in PR?!

Anyway, Munchkin is very well, no words yet, just unbelievable cuteness instead :)

Ex is behaving for the most part, he comes and stays at weekends and helps, but often buggers off abroad on holiday with practically no warning. And announces stag parties and weekend trips like a fait accompli....

I've joined Tinder but am feeling a bit meh about the whole dating thing, have now convinced myself that I'm going to be solo for ever and that Munchkin will never have a brother or sister.

Salt - you have every right to feel down. Give yourself time - it really hasn't been that long at all. I feel down and my situation is not even a fraction as bad as yours, so can only imagine how you feel :( Huge hugs xxxxx

thank you for your support. I read all the posts and feel supported by all your kind words. w survived fathers day by going to visit a friend in the midlands for the weekend. it was lovely, even though with a toddler there seems to be no such thing as a break I did enjoy the change of sceanery xxxx

That sounds good salt, though as you say going away isn't really relaxing any more but at least it's a change.

fourlegs I was about to pm you actually to make sure you could find us. Much sympathy on the job, I'm on the verge of resigning from mine because it's just too much and I need something that isn't stupidly stressful and liable to take over my life. Me and DH were both working at home until 1030 last night and both did several hours on Sunday too Sad

Lots of words and signs here. I think my favourite words are 'nana' 'gone' and ' cuddle' and favourite signs are 'penguin' and 'aeroplane'. She puts two or three together which I find even cuter (like more food please or baby cuddle sleep).

Salt, I was thinking of you at the weekend Thanks

Fourlegs, that must be frustrating, sodding off on holiday at the drop of a hat whilst your left working and looking after DS Angry

Glorious Were in the same boat here, up doing paperwork and ordering until gone 10pm most nights, DD starts childcare on Thursday so I can spend more time at the shop and hopefully take some of the pressure and workload of DP

DDs words are quack quack, uff uff for dog, ba ba ba for bath, shuz for shoes, she goes and gets her shoes and leads me to the back door!

I am really cross with myself today. I managed to forget all about DS1's Speech & Language therapy review which we've been waiting for 3 months Angry I only remembered halfway through lunch at my mum's, by then it was far too late so I called them and apologised and asked for a new one but I bet its another few weeks AngryAngryAngry

Bum.

Nice to see you Salt, and Fourlegs, and Angie, and everybody else.

Here's DS in his pirate costume for the Tumble Tots Pirate day. He loved it!

Jun Hope they fit you in again soon. We've all done it. So annoying though.

salt glad you made plans for Father's Day. There's definitely no such thing as a break with a toddler!

Not many words here - hiya, ba-bye, uh-oh and shoes. He seems to understand a lot though. We had a minor drama on Saturday with DH and I tearing the house apart looking for the car keys, while DS stood on the patio squealing and flapping. I kept ignoring him / telling him in a minute, until eventually I went to see what he was flapping about. He had found the car keys, wedged under the stand for the parasol. He was rightly annoyed at being ignored for so long!
