Awesome PR GrinGrinGrin J just thinks his willie is for playing with.

BigPigLittlePig · 17/06/2014 11:02

We have a collection of loom bands scattered around our house, probably clogging up various pets innards as we speak.

Why is that when daddy puts F to bed, she sleeps in until 8 or 9am without fail, yet when I do it, she is up at 7.15 at the latest? Every time!

Digger I hope LO is doing ok, sounds totally horrendous. How many times has he been admitted now? It's quite a few iirc?

Wanda love your contented post. I get little pangs of jealousy at the pottering, but also love work - but it is an all or nothing situation as cannot go part time. Still, am making the most of these twilight shifts by sitting out to revise, whilst directing dh in his garden renovations Grin. Today and yesterday he has cut down an enormous hedge (was as tall as the roof!) and the sun is streaming in, plus we now have a whole new flowerbed to plant up.

BigPigLittlePig · 17/06/2014 11:03

F views the potty as a (literal) stepping stone - if one pushes it next to the bath and performs a mountain goat act, one can v nearly reach ones bath toys.

PetiteRaleuse · 17/06/2014 11:09

:o until now, other than the odd poo when constipated LO has only used it as a hat and a weapon . I think watching her sister use hers helps as does the fact a couple of kids in her nursery group are being toilet trained.

Pikz · 17/06/2014 11:18

Bplp we also have someone who uses the potty to do mountain goat antics like sticking ones hands under the shower screen to get our hands wet whilst mummy showers!

Pikz · 17/06/2014 11:19

Wanda I love your contented post. I feel massive pangs of jealously at times but I feel my time will come when I have another and we can review the options and where DH (ooh think it's the first time I've written that!) business is

PurplePidjin · 17/06/2014 12:13

keep us updated if you can

Lily sounds like a nice safe way to get back in the saddle as it were Brew

Wanda love the whole living in the moment thing! A nice feeling to look back on when/if things change later :)

PR that's how R has done it - just decided to ask. He still mostly goes in his nappies, but i think that's because he tends to wee on waking iyswim. Would be more confusing for her to be told she can't use it when she's asking, surely? Potty in this house is also a hat, a stepping stone and a place to store small toys Hmm but he does like his toilet seat thingy

Anyhow, Dr very impressed at training progress, healing progress and apparently my parenting skills Blush I blame R for being a pretty chilled out baby tbh, definitely more luck than judgement involved in raising this kid!

PetiteRaleuse · 17/06/2014 12:17

I won't be stopping her from trying - by all means if she asks then I will let her - but I am not going to encourage it until the July break. For now going to the loo can be a hobby for her.

diggerdigsdogs · 17/06/2014 13:02

Sorry just posting quickly as I'm shattered.

Ds is in CICU. I'm in a parents dorm (shared shower and kithen but own bedroom) as they don't have parents staying overnight on ward. He has 1-1 care and they'll wake me if he wakes up crying or calling for me.

This is his 5th admission to hospital. Third in 6 weeks. He's presented at ER but not been admitted twice on top of that.

My poor baby. He was fighting the sedation and was so upset and frightened and tired. He (obviously) just wants to be cuddled and hates the nurses touching him as it always means some new way he'll be hurt or bothered. I just want to go and cuddle and cuddle him but I know I've got to go to sleep as I can't function on last nights scraps of broken sleep.i know there are a great many parents whose kids are in ICU who are so much more unwell. But Oh my little boy :(

:( :( :(

Zamboni · 17/06/2014 13:18

Thanks for updating Digger Thanks. You get some rest lovely. FX your boy gets much better soon xxx

Donnadoon · 17/06/2014 13:28

digger I have no experience of asthma but he is Definately in the right place, you need to sleep to stay strong and well yourself xxx
My ds1 passed his driving test this morning !
I'm in a bit of a hormonal state, he's just gone off in his polo, just like the advert

PetiteRaleuse · 17/06/2014 13:43

digger I hope you get some sleep. I remember exactly how this feels from my girls being admitted 2012/13. It's harder at this age I remember with DD1 as you can't quite explain to them what's going on but they are old enough to care and be frightened and to not want to be there. I really hope you get some progress tomorrow. big hugs.

BigPigLittlePig · 17/06/2014 13:44

Oh digger that sounds dreadful. Doesn't matter what the other children have, your boy is still poorly and that is horrid - sending lots of get well wishes your way. Have they got a longer term plan for his asthma? Do they know what's been triggering it? Hope you can get some rest xx

Wandathewindfairy · 17/06/2014 15:14

Thanks for the update digger, still thinking of you and virtually hand holding etc. Thanks you are right! you need to sleep and not let yourself get run down! though I imagine it must be so hard with all the worry. Xx

pr she sounds amazing! Fx that it continues onwards and upwards.

Sounds like a good DR visit pp hope it has brightened your day.Grin

Life still sunny in the fairy house. A wallowy morning luxuriating, bit of reading, 32 lengths in the pool and a hot stones stress reliever massage. I grabbed a sandwich after and took it onto the beach for a bit more book reading just to try and maintain the feeling!

On the way home I popped up to uncle and aunt in law to see if she could source me some prawns with legs from her fisherman friend and sat in the sun with a coffee passing the time of day.....

.....back now to squash all my Tuesday jobs into 39 mins before the chiropodist and collection of the crazy brothers.

(Disclaimer, not every Tuesday is as idyllic as this, mostly Tuesday are about hailing around fitting in a weeks worth of housework and errands. contrary to what my husband thinks Wink )

PetiteRaleuse · 17/06/2014 15:20

Sounds like you've had a lovely day then wanda

I've got a busy day tomorrow. Meeting with a coach in Lux first thing then having lunch with a friend, then rushing back here for a cross cultural coaching phone conference. Today I've been doing very little.

ValiumQueen · 17/06/2014 20:21

I hate having no internet. And my boiler has broken down. Cold showers brr!

PetiteRaleuse · 17/06/2014 20:42

At least it's not winter

Hope that digger got some sleep and that this morning brings some improvement. Remember that it is sweary fucking Wednesday so feel free to have a sweary rant.

These threads are getting quieter and quieter...

Kyz · 17/06/2014 20:43

Awww lovely reading your posts today Wanda

digger bless you, will be thinking of you all

ChasingDaisy · 17/06/2014 20:45

Am here. Very tired and watching the football.

Thinking of you digger x

PetiteRaleuse · 17/06/2014 20:46

:o kyz are you a little tired too?

YellowWellies · 17/06/2014 21:02

Hello all! Sorry we've been quiet - freelance has been busy, there's the potential of a new job on the horizon (a move away from the private sector like I've been hoping for) and Jonas is just such a happy chap at the mo we've been out and about lots.

I say it all the time but 20 months is my favourite age so far. Not least because he's a confirmed Mummy's boy again Grin . He's so huggy and kissy I'm feeling very spoiled. He's night and day different from 18 months - much easier to reason with and less tantrumy by a country mile. He's speaking lots, quite often in 3 word sentences ("nice and warm" is his latest phrase said when tucking himself or a dolly up in the buggy) so I think he's less frustrated now he can express himself more. We've had lots of compliments on his language this week so I'm feeling v proud of him. I think because he's so wee folks get a shock when he chats properly - especially as a boy.

Today he went for a river walk with his Dad whilst I had an interview, then playgroup, then a train ride to my sisters for a paddling pool party with his cousins. And he's finally learnt "man" so shouts that rather than "Daddy" at random blokes now!

Wanda your post brought back lovely memories of evenings spent watering our wee island garden. Good for the soul! The smell of warm watered soil is heaven.

Digger, as Wanda says I hope you wake up to a better day.

Pidj lovely news!

VQ nooooooo - hope its fixed quick.

BP hope puppypig is OK now. Sad Thanks

PurplePidjin · 17/06/2014 22:10

I'm reading but haven't got anything interesting to say!

Any updates from those we haven't heard from for a while? GT, there wer a couple of Aussies alongside Digger I think, MrG and loads of others who may well have posted but I've missed name changes etc Blush Have some Wine or Brew on me :)

Oh yeah - the bad news. My friend has booked her wedding for the date we were thinking of (Easter). The good news is that my parents are treating us to 2 nights in the hotel as our Birthday and Christmas presents :o And friend will be employing a Nanny to look after all the kids :o

diggerdigsdogs · 17/06/2014 23:21

Morning all. Apologies for posting and running again.

Feeling very refreshed this morning. Ds managed 3 hrs without ventolin over night and they didn't hear a peep out of him. He's back to 1.5 hrs this morning though. He's alert and awake and watching the world go by. They won't sedate him today unless he gets distressed.

Really, thank you for all your support again.

It's rounds now which parents have to leave ICU for. I'm off to grab breakfast and then a shower.
