What did I miss? Grin
We had a lovely holiday. The Boi learnt that armbands keep him afloat without him having to hold us in a headlock. Success!!
I returned with a fab tan. Boi is still white. Success!!
The best contraceptive known to man is the Boi. He did not favour sleep at all. He is affectionately name-changed to the Little Oik. We did manage shenanigans a few times though, so fingers crossed for a BFP soon. I feel a "bit off" this evening, so I MUST be pg, right?
Which reminds me, how've you been getting on with your discussions Hop? One thing I thought after, was that you're only a young 'un. You have plenty of time. You don't need to make hard decisions now. ...You can play him subliminal messages over time and make him think another baby is his idea. Wink
My dad has lost 24kilos since his op on 23rd April. (But he was probably strict dieting /liquid dieting for a few weeks before the op too.) It's pretty remarkable. He even chased Boi around the garden yesterday!!! I haven't seen him move like that in YEARS!
DH and I got on fine, we always do really. But I still think I'd be happier single.
Worked today, but off again tomorrow. We're off to watch a one day cricket international. (DH's valentine present, dad's birthday present, gratuitous day out for me n mum.) should be fun if it stays dry! Not that I know anything about cricket or have the slightest interest.

NorthernChinchilla · 27/05/2014 20:17

Hey Oi, good to see you! Grin Not much...let's put it this way, whilst you were in Glamoursville, Holidayland, I was gardening. In the rain. In a fleece. On the late May Bank Hol. 'Tis the British way don'tchaknow Wink!!

That's amazing about your DF though, you must be delighted for him.

Good luck for tomorrow mopsy, really hope all goes well, and sure it will. How are you on the migraine front, are they holding off bar that one the other week?

Work's a bit hectic at the moment, given that I've been away for over a week, and we have a lot to organise ref seeing family and friends at weekends too.

By the way, has anyone else's DC hit a wall of stubbornness recently? DS is going through a phase where we're having to battle for up to half an hour to extract a 'sorry' from him, with him wailing/sobbing/just yelling for effect. Unfortunately, he has yet to understand quite how stubborn his mother is and how he will never get out of saying sorry, ever Wink

OiMissus · 27/05/2014 22:42

Good luckMopsy! Hope the scan goes well.
Stubborn? The Boi? His behaviour leaves quite a lot to be desired at the moment! During the day, I can use distraction when we end inevitably at meltdown. "Did I just see a gruffalo over there?" Works every time.
Can't do that at bedtime though...

OiMissus · 27/05/2014 22:48

Oh and you have "ninnins", we have "chicking" - for the foodstuff.
The cute mispronunciations have gone.
Fish, was pish for a while, but we've mastered f's now.Grin
Fish - is now his favourite joke. I.e. "I've got a joke... Fish! Ha ha ha ha"
Words are jokes. He hasn't mastered a question then punchline. Not quite!

mopsytop · 28/05/2014 11:11

Scan fine. Phew! One wriggly baby. Big relief!

fixyourgardengate · 28/05/2014 13:42

Yay mopsy

fixyourgardengate · 28/05/2014 13:46

Yay mopsy

There are a few mispronunciations here. The funniest being cuncumber.

But my Mum went from Aggy to Granny literally overnight. We were a bit sad, but dnephew came to the rescue and started calling her Aggy last week Grin

Ds has also started referring to himself in the third person. Seb wants milk. Seb wants cuddle. Etc. Cute and irritating in equal measure...

fixyourgardengate · 28/05/2014 13:48

Oops. Double post. I'm that excited mopsy Wink

Aethelfleda · 28/05/2014 15:06

Yay mopsy!

mopsytop · 28/05/2014 19:32

Thanks all. Big relief! Will tell boss tomorrow. Feeling bit nervous about it...

NorthernChinchilla · 28/05/2014 20:55

Oh, lovely news mopsy, so pleased, and it's just one as well. Good luck for telling your boss.

I get the feeling there's a ticking clock over this thread which says 'mulitiples', and that given that we've all had singletons repeatedly, one of us is going to get a surprise....

mopsytop · 28/05/2014 21:58

Yep. Was relieved I must say.

Figster · 29/05/2014 16:33

Yay mopsy!!

my work colleague had two boys yesterday - identical twins Shockgood luck to her

Aethelfleda · 29/05/2014 18:26

No multiples over here thanks, the bus is full! ignores the two spaces in the boot of the MPV

Good day today: train into London and a trip to my favourite stinky cheese shop on the way back from the Science museum!

OiMissus · 29/05/2014 18:41

Great news, Mopsy.
Bagsy multiples for me please! I know I'm crazy. Grin

Figster · 29/05/2014 19:34

D's has just found great hilarity by licking the soles of his feet Blush grim much!!

Looks like we way off potty training his friend at cm has started and he is utterly disgusted by It all we hear at night is yuck Zak pooed in potty.

fixyourgardengate · 29/05/2014 20:12

Grin figster

We haven't started yet, although I am now finally the owner of not one but two potties (his bedroom is on the 2nd floor and the bathroom is on the 1st floor so when the time comes he's going to need one in his room. in the meantime, one for downstairs one for the bathroom) and one of those training seat things for the toilet.

DS is getting used to the potty being around and is genuinely excited to use it pre/post bath/shower. But tbh he is more excited about pouring the contents of the potty down the toilet and flushing. Getting him to sit still long enough to pee is a struggle, not sure how we are going to cope with poo....

fixyourgardengate · 29/05/2014 20:14

DS met postman pat today. I wasn't there 'cos I was actually y'know delivering post Wink but apparently he got all shy.

I've been told repeatedly since I got home that postman pat is biiiiiiig!

Figster · 29/05/2014 20:26

Fix ds has sat on Potty but never wee'd or pooed so you still doing better than us.

My mum took ds to see rio 2 last week and he was good as gold but apparently he was transfixed by postman pat trailer so think we going to take him and his cousin/my niece who was 3 last week when we in Scotland. He loved postman pat village at longleat last week too.

NorthernChinchilla · 29/05/2014 21:14

Not sure where that extra 'i' came from in multiples, my excuse was I didn't get home til 8 as work's manic, again...

Sounds great aethel, though I think I'd be more up for the Science Museum than stinky cheese! I lived in the Manchester science museum as a kid, really, really brilliant. Take it you had the DCs with you?

Am getting an early one tonight, am really tired. Can't wait for the weekend...

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 29/05/2014 22:29

Back from Iceland, it was amazing. So beautiful, very post-apocolyptic-film-set in places. Lava fields and mountains and weird geisers. Very cool.

Hope everyone is well. DS barely noticed we were gone.

OiMissus · 30/05/2014 08:00

Hello Hop! Welcome back! Your photos on FB look amazing. Happy to hear that DS was oblivious to your absence.
Hurrah for Fridays!
What's everyone up to this weekend?
I'm hoping to take Boi swimming this afternoon. Then DH's niece is coming over for 2 nights. Last time, she was glued to her phone the whole time. DH says that I can't ban her from bringing her phone.... Fair enough. But I can ask her to put it down, can't i?
No plans yet for Saturday.
Sunday / football, then a get together for a friend who's last round (and probably final round of IVF) was unsuccessful Hmm, then a 2yr old birthday party.
And a two week wait for me. Dum de dum de dum...

Figster · 30/05/2014 17:47

Oi did you make it to swimming? DS and I have done the weekly shop gone swimming done two loads of washing and then he fell asleep so I went to out-of-town shopping centre had a good waddle around what far too much for him as usual he now has three more pairs of shorts another pair of trousers and another T-shirt of course I justified all of it to myself despite the fact that he has plenty of clothes. Did manage to buy a pair of shoes for me all the clothes I tried on just depressed the hell out of me it was just all stomach starting C25K on Monday with my friend.

This weekend we are mainly tidying after having had my mum here for the last two, have a fourth birthday party to go to tomorrow, Sunday one of my old friends actually one of my bridesmaids and I haven't seen herin years as we kind of fell outis supposed to be coming through town Sunday for maybe an hour and a half so was going to go and see her. Have a new bottle of Chancery Gin to open so will have 1 tonight. Need to get to the shops and buy running gear tomorrow no appropriate clothing maybe having to buy the size up Will mean I stick with it. Grin

Figster · 30/05/2014 17:47

Oh and yes hop your pictures looked awesome

Figster · 30/05/2014 17:56

Apologies for the triple post but forgot to mention in the last two .........

DS has finally weed on the potty. There was tv related bribery but he did it!!
