Well done for speaking up faffin

My dad only admitted alcoholism after getting caught. He was pulled over in the next town after several other motorists raised the alarm.

He had several empty vodka bottles in the car. No reported accidents, it just doesn't bear thinking about Angry Sad

NorthernChinchilla · 17/05/2014 07:56

Bloody hell, people just don't learn about drink-driving do they- or just don't care, which is worse. Really glad the Police were called. Thankfully, scraping people off the roads after a drunken crash is far less common than it used to be- now, of course, we're having to do it because the sodding driver just couldn't wait for that text/FB update/call on their sodding smart phone....

Today is the first day of my first proper break of the year Grin! And I have woken up with a cold, ffs.

Glad you're feeling a bit better mopsy, and so pleased to hear your DD is improving faffin, long may it continue.

We're off to buy half the SE today- need DP's birthday present, wrap up present for a friend, shoes for me (my sandals have gone MOULDY Confused), need ingredients for DP's birthday dinner, need rollers, etc from B&Q for the decorating, compost/soil for potting up, etc, etc....

Chipandspuds · 17/05/2014 09:34

That's a lot of shopping Northern - good luck!

We've got to do some gardening today but that's about it. Nice quiet weekend :)

We've decided to put potty training on hold as DS got really upset about it at nursery and he just doesn't want to sit on the potty so I'm going to tell nursery on Tuesday and I will see again later in the year. If he's not ready I don't want to spend all summer trying to potty train him, I'd rather just wait.

Scan is booked in for Weds, can't wait to then be able to share the news :)

Figster · 18/05/2014 06:48

Ds been up since 5.40 i could properly throttle him today hes driving me mad!!!!! Going to longleat today hes going to be horrible tired. My mum visiting so hes woken her up too he veers between wanting tv on, a picnic and outside to his paddling pool Angry

Bought him some lovely clothes yesterday for him couldnt find anything for me as usual.

Chip ds now getting upset if he doesnt have his nappy on so am sure that will be make things easy..........not.

I think i have hit a low point again about the need for dc2 everywhere i went yesterday i felt surrounded by pg women and babies it was like a punch in the chest. Am picking fights with dh the last few days too and dont really know why........might be following you to relate Hop at this rate.

Hi all. Gorgeous day here! and yesterday. Have had lots of views and think we will be getting an offer for our asking price tomorrow (fingers crossed!). Also saw a house I'd dismissed but which Mr. Mopsy went and saw yesterday (while I was showing people around our house) and he persuaded me to visit today. It has definitely got loads of potential and could be fab but would need a lot of work (mainly cosmetic I think). But I think we will put in an offer as I think it could be wonderful. Now I'm worried I'll be v disappointed though if we don't get it!

DrFunkesFamilyBandSolution · 18/05/2014 19:23

Fig, I really wanted DC2.
Even when I was pg with him I was insanely jealous of everyone else who had two/a smaller age gap/twins, it was so strange as it wasn't me at all, like I'd been overtaken by a broody monster who wanted to stomp feet and shout 'not fair'. I was happy with two, so the urge to have 3 blindsided me!

I've finally contacted the midwives so should hear from them soon, 10wks tomorrow (and look about 20!) so should be following you with scan news soon Chip!

Well done on the see-through vest run Hop!

How did the shopping trip go Mouldy footed Northern?

We fell in love with a house today, have put an offer in (we put one in, they phoned us back & said 'there's an identical offer', so upped it), have no buyer for ours atm but a viewing tomorrow, going to back down on making a big profit on this place (rejected an offer, going to ask if they'll please take us back) as I luffs house. DS1 had the house paperwork package thing and has been walking around with it saying 'Me house, house mine'...so that's a sign right?
Good luck Mopsy, although it sounds similar to our house, I swear if you're bidding on a 2 bed in West Kent I'll hunt you down! Grin

NorthernChinchilla · 18/05/2014 22:06

Spent a lovely day in the garden here, took DS to two different parks, and then DP and I have been prepping the front room for decorating. Just off for a last cocktail in the garden, as we're on hoooooooooliday Grin And after spending a long time in bed over the weekend, I now feel human again!

That's our life figster, if he sleeps in til 6am on any given day it's a win for us Confused! It sucks....

NorthernChinchilla · 18/05/2014 22:07

No joy whatsover Dr F on the footwear...pm me where you're about to buy, as it sounds like you're fairly near us.

mopsytop · 19/05/2014 09:42

Don't worry DrFunkes not that direction at all!

Figster · 19/05/2014 10:09

It's our 7th wedding anniversary today Monday anniversaries are so meh!! Might go out for dinner tonight since have a babysitter.

My friends selling me a mini micro scooter for £10 bargain!!

mopsytop · 19/05/2014 18:34

Ugh. House we like had had 44 viewings, no offers. We make an offer, then they suddenly get two second viewings (today and tomorrow) so waiting to see what happens before they accept our offer. GAAAAH

Aethelfleda · 19/05/2014 21:07
CaffeinatedKitten · 20/05/2014 11:53

I fell off!

I can't remember who everyone is, name changes and too little sleep...

So Brew Cake and sleeeeeep!

DrFunkesFamilyBandSolution · 20/05/2014 12:40

Happy non-wedding anniversary Fig, what did you get upto?

Good luck Mopsy, we've had our offer accepted but need to find a buyer for our place, ffs why did we turndown an offer two weeks ago!

Figster · 20/05/2014 13:27

Thanks Dr F last night consisted of a massive curry and drinks (I drove so only 1 drink for me). With my mum staying it isnt like DH getting any action anyway. 7 Years seems a long time now.

Skunk update after a week he is reliably weeing in a tray poo not so much but he did manage twice yesterday in the tray, considering until last Sunday he had never lived in a house before pretty impressed with him. I am potty training a skunk FFS.

Caffeinated Kitten I cant remember who you are either.......and i have been here whole time so no excuse. name changes confuse me.

Hop good work on the run!! Well done.

mopsytop · 20/05/2014 18:43

Happy anniversary yesterday figgy!

Still waiting on both potential buyer to get back to us and for other viewers of house we want to get back to vendor tomorrow urrgghhhh hate this.

mopsytop · 20/05/2014 21:12

oooh exciting DrFunkes (can you remind me of your old moniker? mush for brains). So difficult with offers... sd you accept lower offer, should you hold out? Ugh. Stress. I feel your pain!

Aethelfleda · 20/05/2014 21:45

I'm Aethel.... Does that help? :op

(mopsy, caffeinatedkitten used to have an even number of tentacles... and figgy used to be a gal.... And I think we all had a few less wrinkles....at least oi is still oi! )

How's the sandal hunt going northern? Online shopping to the rescue?

Nearly at the halfterm hols (hoorah!) My three are showing increasing reluctance to go to bed and get up on time, so it's just as well! Side effect of DS toilet training is a new level of manipulation: the "needapooooo!!" Response when he's in his night nappy and trying to avoid going to bed... Sigh....

mopsytop · 20/05/2014 21:50

Yep we are having full on bed time avoidance tactics too aethel (although no potty training as yet). My pin brain finds it too hard to remember name changes Blush

NorthernChinchilla · 20/05/2014 22:06

Oooofffhh... Just had DP's birthday dinner, and am stuffed. Has been a lovely day though: we managed to get all the decorating done yesterday (though downstairs is a tip) and so today it's just been lunch out, nap- DS woke at 4.50 am Shock demanded cuddle bed and fell back to sleep...his mother wasn't so lucky- then a tasty dinner.

Fingers crossed, chickens sacrificed (apols to the veggies) and black cats hunted down for you mopsy and Dr F, it's all so unnecessarily worrying. It is worth it in the end though, I've been smiling all day at our new house/garden.

Kitten, I was thinking about you and the DCs this morning (in a 'how does she cope with three?!? way), it's awesome to see you back. How are the mini-tentacled ones, especially the littlest?

Still no fecking sandals aethel... I can find a couple of pairs to replace one, but it's the other pair I just cannot find anything to replace. A plain, black, wedge heeled mule. It's all Grecian sandals, clompy early 90s things or stripper heels, ffs.

figster, pictures of your new skunky!! And well done on the potty training, I hold out hope for us yet....

CaffeinatedKitten · 20/05/2014 22:46

Noo skunk?! Name?

How do I manage with three? Bob only knows. Four cats too. The reason I am single is that I can't be dealing with adding a man into that mix too:o

CaffeinatedKitten · 20/05/2014 22:48

This is the smallest's favourite thing in the world now. Stalking chickens:o

mopsytop · 21/05/2014 10:41

I hate this! Can't concentrate on work (or anything!)
