Yay mopsy!

NorthernChinchilla · 27/08/2014 23:02

Fantastic news mopsy, it always happens unexpectedly quickly at the end! Smile
Currently in motorway service station car park on M6, oh the glamour....

Chipandspuds · 28/08/2014 06:49

Excellent news Mopsy!! Smile

You're a braver lady than me Oi thankfully nobody has nominated me for the ice bucket challenge Grin

Hinky it sounds like a yes to me on having a third child! I think if you didn't want a third child it would be easier as you'd both say no but because you're both not saying no I think that you both do and are just concerned about changing the status quo?

DH and I think we will stop at two dc but we have both said we will see how we feel and aren't ruling out a third in a couple more years.

Figster · 28/08/2014 09:19

Yay mopsy

I've been nominated for ice bucket going to do it tomorrow Confused

mopsytop · 28/08/2014 21:17

This time tomorrow I'll be on a boat yo France. Woohoo!

mopsytop · 28/08/2014 21:19

Kind of a shame I can't get stuck into the yummy cheese and wine though!

Chipandspuds · 29/08/2014 06:11

Ahh next time you'll have to make up for it with extra quantities of cheese and Wine Mopsy! Hope you have a good trip!

I'm really happy, went to aerobics last night and my instructor told us all she is 13 weeks pregnant with her first Smile I don't know her very well but it was such lovely news!

I also got cuddles with a 13 day old baby as one of the girls at work has just become a mum and oh my goodness I felt so cack handed passing him to someone for a cuddle! It was lovely though and she was so relaxed and natural! I'm really looking forward to having my baby now, I'm not going to be half as terrified of 'breaking the baby' as I was with DS!!

I have the day off work today and DM is visiting so going to get my eye test done and hopefully get some new glasses. DM is going to watch DS whilst I have the appointment and then hopefully we can do a bit of shopping before DS gets bored.

TheOnlySeven · 29/08/2014 11:06

How does the ice bucket challenge actually work then? Do you just have to donate money if you don't do it, or do you do it and donate anyway, not sure of the point of having 24 hours? I don't like the self-glorification of it tbh, I've raised over £1000 for charity already this year, and don't feel the need to put it all over Facebook

Sorry for my grumpy pregnancy-hormone induced moaning. 37+2 now, wtf is going on and why am I still pregnant?

Faffin · 29/08/2014 17:06

Don't apologise seven I'm with you. The whole thing seems stupid to me. You donate if you do it, you donate more if you don't. Would make more sense to me if the person nominating you paid if you did it and you paid if you didn't. Either way I won't be partaking. I regularly donate money to charity and don't need to get cold and wet as an inducement to do so. (No offense meant to any of you who has done it of course)

Hope little lady makes an appearance soon seven

Aethelfleda · 29/08/2014 21:47

Give us a B! Give us an A! give us a B! give us a Y! put it together and Whaddaya Got?... gooooooo Seven!....

TheOnlySeven · 30/08/2014 13:46

Ha thanks aethel it worked. Hope you don't mind his is copied and pasted from my ante-natal thread.

Well the news here is that I had a baby this morning, and rather quickly I might add. I woke at 6:15 and felt quite achy low down. Contractions started at 6:30 10 minutes apart. I had a show at 7:15 then felt what I thought was a trickle of waters. By now contractions were already 7 minutes apart. I phoned the hospital who said to put a pad in and call back an hour later. 10 minutes later my contractions were down to 4 minutes apart and there was a good amount of blood when I wiped, called hospital back who told me to come in, we dropped the DCs at my parents on the way still in their pyjamas.

DH did some mad driving on the way to the hospital while I was having contractions every 2-3 minutes and fighting back the urge to push. We arrived at 8:25, I had the most overwhelming urge to push as soon as I got out of the car while DH ran to get me a wheelchair, I genuinely thought she was going to be born in the car park. We managed to get upstairs to triage where it all turned a bit crazy. The MW checked her heartbeat, it was down to 54, she pulled the alarm and about 6 people rushed in. I was put onto my side so her heartbeat would hopefully improve and it came back up to normal. I was a bit panicky and not quite with it at this point, but DH heard someone say I needed a CS and someone else said no there isn't time. On the next contraction with an enormous push her head was out, and she was born on the next contraction, 8 minutes after we arrived. She was quite tangled in the cord which was why her heartbeat dipped so low. She weighs 5lb 9oz and we've called her Elizabeth.

Figster · 30/08/2014 14:21

Yay seven congratulations!!

PartTimeProcrastinator · 30/08/2014 14:32

Congratulations seven and welcome to the world Elizabeth.

Faffin · 30/08/2014 14:49

Congratulations seven and welcome Elizabeth. What a dramatic entrance she made!

OiMissus · 30/08/2014 21:33

Congratulations!
I saw the lovely pic in Facebook.
I hope you're both doing fine after the dramatic birth! Welcome Elizabeth! Grin

mopsytop · 31/08/2014 07:22

Goodness how traumatic. Hope you're recovering OK seven and massive congratulations and welcome to Elizabeth!

Chipandspuds · 31/08/2014 08:48

Congratulations Seven! Hope you're all doing well and glad to read you got to the hospital in time for the delivery!

DM is staying with us this week and I think I've offended her for about the millionth time. Every day she is complaining about various illnesses and ailments and I'm really bored of it tbh. I don't mind listening and sympathising, but not multiple times every single day. I think it seems worse as I know plenty of other people the same age or older with things wrong but they don't make that their entire life. Vent over!

We're going to stay with DB next week so hopefully that will give us a bit of space but DS can still enjoy time with DM. She's perfectly happy when she's playing with DS!

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 31/08/2014 08:48

Wow seven congratulations! Shes gorgeous!

Back from holiday, no wifi of 3G. Was like living in the dark age, but lovely at the same time. DS had so much fun, messing around in the sea and digging holes. I went swimming in the sea (frozen tits ahoy), and generally just had a lovely time. Weather was a bit shit, but can definitely recommend the area for smalls. Steam trains, beaches and castles a-plenty!

Holiday sounds fab, hop. :)
Even the frozen extremities!
I don't have much to share... The goldfish is still dying, and I feel cruel to be dragging it out.
My new green sofas arrive on Tuesday. Shock
We've had a lovely weekend doing very little. I spent a lot of time cleaning up the front of the house. But too much time of that time chasing Boi. So I'll re-potify the hanging baskets tomorrow.
Shall also be hearing from a gardener to start mowing the lawns. Just me and Boi can't handle it ourselves. Boi has shown little interest in gardening this weekend. Sigh.
Am currently top of our office's mini football league. Grin My interest in football ends at the Armani underwear adverts. Wink

NorthernChinchilla · 01/09/2014 12:28

Massive congratulations seven n welcome Elizabeth! Glad she's finally here, n sure she's worth the wait! U must have been approaching 38 wks.
Been up N with the family, n have taken today off to get house sorted, tho currently on train to London for a mtg- no rest for the wicked Wink !
Sounds like a very sensible idea to get someone in to do the lawn Oi. How r things for u n the Boi, is it all slowly adjusting? Hope yr Dad's seen sense too.
Can't believe it's September, n it's going to b such a busy month too- Bob knows what it'll b like when we have school to consider Shock !
