Coffee table Grin

Dd slept at Grandmas so now she is wide awake.......

TheOnlySeven · 06/08/2014 20:45

chip what's your EDD? the year we were all pregnant we left DS with my mum for the day and done all of the Christmas shopping in one big bit at the end of October, the rule being that anything we didn't buy would be bought online. Best idea ever when heavily pregnant! WRT middle name DH hates that he is the only one in his family without a middle name, he thinks it's because he was loved and wanted less than his brother and sister which is quite true sadly

Thanks for the positive name comments, my favourite girls name is Charlotte but DH said no, I also love Ruby and Ariana.

I had my first steroid injection today, huge needle in my bum cheek! Wasn't that bad at the time but it's really achy and itchy now, another one tomorrow. MW also mention that I need the whooping cough jab before 38 weeks to give me enough time to develop antibodies, not particularly helpful telling me now though when I've never made it to 36 weeks! Hoping they have some in stock so I can have it tomorrow, not sure it's worth bothering getting it done next week if not when I'll likely have less than a week left, aethel?

Aethelfleda · 06/08/2014 21:46

Got it in one air!!

I'd get that jab anyway seven, whooping cough is the pits, your GP practice should have it in stock as it's a routine year-round vaccine.

Now watching "Orphan Black" . Weird but I rather like it so far....

Chipandspuds · 07/08/2014 05:38

Sounds grim Aethel! I watched One Born Every Minute last night and almost stayed up to watch Child Genius! I don't think I should watch OBEM until after dc2 is born I couldn't stop crying! So glad that we have the NHS though the staff were really good on last nights episode.

Seven my EDD is 28th November. I think I'll be useless in November (going by how I felt with DS) so I think I might aim to get the shopping done in October and DH can have a day with DS. Amazon is my friend for anything I can't find in the shops Wink

mopsytop · 07/08/2014 08:53

I have OBEM taped Chip. Guess I've tears in store too! what is child genius?

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 07/08/2014 12:09

Fell off thread. Bloody life, getting in the way of internetting again. Dentist this morning. Didn't realise how anxious I was about it until I got there and had the work done. Feel like a huge weight has been lifted now. House cleaning this afternoon, then going to the cinema. On my own. Oh the luxury!

And with dodgy wifi n tunnel fun galore, clearly....

pluCaChange · 07/08/2014 17:08

Q: What kind of coffee has a soporific, not enlivening, effect?

A: Aethel's coffee marquee!

NorthernChinchilla · 07/08/2014 21:04

Did you have to have anything serious done Hop, or was it just a check up?

Glad you're getting all sterioded up seven, you must only be about ten days away from your 'due' date. Wouldn't it be funny if this one decided to be a 40+11'er, just to completely throw you Grin? And we did exactly that with our Xmas presents when DS was due, all sorted via Amazon in October, was fantastic.

Back at home now, unpacked and washing done- tomorrow morning will repack and head out. Wish we could have had a slightly more relaxing end to the holiday, but there we go. DP is paying for all of this from his savings, given that we would not be going away at all were it not his mate's stag do, and we can't afford it otherwise due to everything breaking all at once! My Mum bought me a couple of history books when she was down, and so those and MN via the app will be my friends over the next couple of nights. Joining you in the glamour and luxury stakes hop!

Aethelfleda · 07/08/2014 21:19

Exhibit-A,M'Lud

TheOnlySeven · 07/08/2014 22:19

Aww bless aethel, can't really see the relaxing appeal myself though.

northern hope you survive Brighton. And yes not long now until my 'due date', I'm now 10-12 days away from when I had the other 3. I know I shouldn't be hoping for another early one, but I think I'll be climbing the walls if I go to term. Feeling enormous and so uncomfortable which is daft but for me 34 weeks is heavily pregnant.

I managed to have the whooping cough jab today too so one less thing to worry about, and you're right aethel, I didn't realise it had tetanus in too so always worth a booster!

Also DH heard from the charity today, he's got a place in next years london marathon. It puts a lot of pressure on us tbh but he's said it'll definitely be his last, and with the two he's done already he's hoping to raise 20k in 3 years.

OiMissus · 07/08/2014 23:01

Aethel, how did your son manage to get under my table?!
The doors are always locked.
Proof therefore, m'lud, that the little oiks are indeed, I put it to you, conspiring against us!

NorthernChinchilla · 08/08/2014 07:49

Oh that is wonderful aethel, can't wait to show my DP, I've been telling him all about it in the context of our interesting bedtimes at the moment!

Can't believe you'll have another in under two weeks seven, that's amazing. Don't know where the time went, or where you get the energy. Good news for your DH ref the marathon too, but he should definitely make it his last before his knees give out, he'll knacker them! He's done a fantastic job raising all that money, and I would hope there are other people from the charity that can take his place?

And yes Oi, I'm just awaiting the timed-illness-athon that they tend to do in winter Confused

pluCaChange · 08/08/2014 09:20

Maybe some of our littluns are connected, like the Midwich Cuckoos? Or perhaps that coffee table is some kind of ideal Platonic form, given that it's reflected in at least the Aethel and Oi households?

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 08/08/2014 14:29

Mine is conked out on the sofa. I just hoovered the living room. He hasn't woken up. The noise of a tea bag hitting the bottom of a mug might as well be gunfire though. Oiks indeed.

I seriously couldnt manage with 4 am starting to feel past it with 1 Grin

Ds has taken to weeing on the floor on purpose i am not impressed he can be in house all day with no accidents naked from waist down but now he actually says he is going to wee on floor and when i tell him not to he says ready steady with a cheeky face and then lets rip. Im wondering if its time to get pants? It is bad enough the incontinent skunk is stinking out my house cant deal with both of them. Grin

Dh has been offered a new job today HAVE to tell someone. It is with a company he got to 2nd stage with last year before he started with his current co. They. Said they would keep his details and seems they did he interviewed with them tuesday and thursday called him today. To offer it is £4k more than he is. Currently on and best bit it is literally a 5 min drive from home for him. He feels like a right shit though only been there 4 months really likes the company and the people but HATES the commute he hates driving. It is a no brainer really it is working for the founder of a very large successful company right at top of the organisation. Why couldnt it have been last year?????

PartTimeProcrastinator · 08/08/2014 16:29

Congrats to your DH figgy on the job. Could you try putting DS in pants and jogging bottoms so then he would feel how wet he is getting and have the inconvenience of having to get changed if he decides to wee on the floor?

We are on day 5 of boring staying at home week to try and ditch nappies, I think we're getting there and managed an hour out of the house today. Monday at nursery will be the challenge, I shall be packing lots of changes of clothes!

TheOnlySeven · 08/08/2014 19:05

Congrats to your DH figgy that's great news.

We're still not making any more progress with potty training. She wears knickers most of the time at home and is 100% dry, but still has no desire to poo on the potty or toilet. It's frustrating as she knows she needs to go and asks to wear pull-ups, but I don't want to force the issue and I'm hoping one day she'll just prefer to use the potty instead.

I'm really not feeling too good today. Upset stomach, woozy headache and my hips are killing me. The DDs have both got a bit of a virus so not sure if it's related or not, they both had high temps a couple of days ago, seem fine now but have spots that look a bit like heat rash which keep flaring up then fading again. DS is staying at my parents tonight, DD1 in bed already, just need to settle DD2 then I can hopefully relax and be asleep by 8pm

mopsytop · 08/08/2014 19:14

Congrats to Mr. Figgy, that's great! Thanks Wine

OiMissus · 08/08/2014 21:05

Great news, Figgy! Congrats to mr f!!
I'm beginning to think Boi will never potty train. He shows no interest at all.
Still, given that he now sleeps in my bed, it's probably for the best.
I know I'm building a rod for my own back, etc etc., but it's easier for me. The stress of the break up is hitting me. I can't sleep because I lie there for ages thinking that someone's going to break in and abduct him. (Need a big dog!)
So I feel better having him next to me.
Hang on... He's crying...

OiMissus · 08/08/2014 21:20

But, yes, stress... More impatient at work,... Mouth ulcers, haemorrhoids, (sorry tmi !), itchy up (down?) front - but not thrush, sore fingernails, (fingernails??! What's that about?) everything is falling apart!
Time, and a lot of water, not wine, will sort it all out. Confused
Met up with some girlfriends last week. It was lovely. But one girl was more of an acquaintance. She just assumed straightaway that I'd met someone else. She just didn't understand at all. I hate to think that that's what everyone will think.

Aethelfleda · 08/08/2014 23:34

((((Hug))) oi. Early days. Fret not. You are doing fine. It will get easier. Hope you get a good night's sleep and feel better tomorrow...... When I am planning to issue a ransom note for your coffee table. Muah ha ha....

OiMissus · 08/08/2014 23:57

I've had this coffee table for 17 years!! It still looks pretty much the same as it did when I bought it. I got it in the sale.
I saw it before Xmas, on sale, at £150, thought, I'll get that with my Xmas money.
After Xmas it was no longer in the sale. Now 230 quid. Confused Said to bloke, when will it next be in the sale? Answer: Wednesday. See you then.
Come weds, 130 quid. Ta very much.
(So your ransom note shouldn't be more than about 4p.)
Thanks for the hugs. I'll be fine. As you say, tis just early days. Smile
