by the way, ill be going to xmas meet up aswell as i dont live too far from the west end, would love to meet everyone!!

Wallace · 06/09/2006 17:55

Sounds like spotty skin is fairly normal i am bf so that is interersting about the hormones.

We just had supper with Leo in his bouncy chair with me with one hand bouncing it. He fell asleep, but just woke up screaming. He has a cold so he splutters, coughs, wakes himself up, then screams!

Wallace · 06/09/2006 17:58

My HV suggested olive oil or sweet almond oil BTW. tried olive oil and it got a bit worse!

Won't be going to the meet up as i live in the highlands of scotland, but i wish i could!

nixnoo · 06/09/2006 18:19

Sefton has very dry skin, and very sore looking red patches, have been given a really oily type of aqueous cream for it.
He also poos every couple of days and does loud farts!!! All normal I am assured.
Glad the treatment is working Whitestar!

Hey again wallace

Pity you are in the Highlands,we could have had our own Scottish meet up

maewest · 06/09/2006 19:19

Evening ladies - hope you get some respite kbaby, sounds tough, especially with toddler as well.

Until recently Dom pooed after every single feed! Now he seems to save it up for 2 huge poos a day with the odd spot - please tell me that it will settle down at some point! His cloth nappies have been leaking out everytime this week, might be the wrap, will have to get in touch with the laundry service as it's hell keeping up with washing his clothes. Using disposables at night as I need the sleep and he wakes up less when he can't feel he's wet (bad mummy)

Had first trip on the bus this morning, Dom slept in the sling all the way. Went into my pg yoga class to show him off and tell my birth story, then popped into the office. BF in the meeting room . Going out does make me feel tired, but think it's worth it to talk to other adults. Got another 'mum' friend coming round with her 15 month old tomorrow morning. Really need to childproof the house now my friends with mobile little ones are visiting, oh well, good preparation!

Donna3 - Its weird having something like surgery hanging over the arrival of a new baby isn't it? Did you find out about your lo cleft lip at your 20 week scan, is he feeding ok ? I've heard babys with clefts can have problems, is his pallet affected to?

Is anyone else getting really pissed off with their dh/dp's? He just doesn't seem to have the same priorities as me. Keeps asking me about where I want radiators put in new extention when I'm feeding or changing crying babys nappy!! Like I care!! I'm hoping its just hormones and lack of sleep otherwise I really don't like him anymore. Any advice???

HumphreysCorner · 06/09/2006 22:29

Good to hear from you kayzed-hope things are settling. Still couldn't express more than 2oz of milk and I have a touch of thrush again

kbaby-hugs to you-remember feeling like this with DD1-thinking of you.

whitestar and donna-thinking of you both and your little ones.

Sophie has gone from a once a week poo to twice a week and v. runny (and messy). She is spotty and has been since birth. Baby eczema according to HV but the cream she prescribed made it far worse so just use the bath stuff prescribed.

Anyone else feel that their brain will explode if they have to absorb any more info? It is making me dizzy. Kerbed the car 3 times today. I can't take in what people are saying to me and can't remember doing things. Is it stress or just because I've had a baby?

Anyway, bed time now so love to all.

xxx

P.S. MIL still not been round-is nearly a month since she has seen Sophie.

donna3 · 06/09/2006 22:32

We didn't know about the cleft until he was born, whitestar, I suspect like your little one's talipes. Because its bilateral they didn;t see it on the 20 week or the extra 28 week scan I had. At the time I wasn;t too bothered because I had such a tough delivery and his heart rate kept dropping too, so we were just relieved we were both okay. Its a 3 hour op to fix it though, so the nearer it gets to the date the more stressed I get.
Luckily his palate is ok. He was a bit slow to learn to BF, and feeds slowly - up to an hour at a time, but I'm just glad that he can BF at all, as we were told he might not be able to.
It is a bit unsettling having the op hanging over us though - must be the same for you.

koshka1984 · 06/09/2006 22:36

hey everyone.
feeling really down because of stupid work and stuff.
i am having really wild nightmares the times i rarely sleep and they are awful.

am also a bit sad because my dad hasnt even come to visit Jake yet. He sent £50 and my step mum sent a card and asked for me to send pictures. i dint. I know he is busy with his family (has daughters 12 and 9) but he doesnt have a job as he is disabled (just an excuse i think he worked happily for 50 years then took early retirement)

what should i do? my life is such a mess i just wish it would be different

usandbump · 07/09/2006 08:27

Glad you're ok KZ, you really notice when a regular poster is missing

Whitestar, I think you should give everything some time to settle down, our relationships have had to change alot since our babies came along. We are all very tired at the mo, I can't spare any patience for anyone but my LO at the moment

Hi Koshka {{hug}} Its your dads loss just concentrate on yourself and your LO. My family is just as bad, my sister practically lived at my house for 6 months when she had her LO so that we could help her but we've hardly seen her! Your life isn't a mess it just seems it at the mo, I too am finding it very hard to think straight I really should be thinking about work but I just can't face dealing with anything other than the day to day care of my LO. Can you talk it over with someone? An outsider will be more rational and be able to help make your options clearer for you.

usandbump · 07/09/2006 08:29

Can I ask where everyone lives? It would be nice to know if any of us are local to each other
We could make a list with copy and paste?

~Koshka, sorry you are having a tough time. My MIL has not even acknowledged Sefton's birth at all. We fell out with her when I was pregnant, long story, but I really thought she would want to be a part of his life but sadly not. Cant choose your family eh?

Whitestar, I think it is probably sleep deprivation!! I can only focus on one thing at a time now too

Bloody painters working at open lounge window talking LOUDLY about "the trouble with Guiddo" - sounds like a film title! Also smoking so my flat smells of it yeuuuch.

Anyhooooooooo

take care

We ought to do a stats list too - I keep on having to check ages of babies.

KZ - we live in whisky country (speyside). Sounds like the same spots - really rough and dry, feels like sandpaper? Leo is 6 weeks old so it must be the same thing - seems to get worse with the heat too.

agalch - there is somebody else here in scotland as well I think? If I'm ever down your way I'll give you a shout

agalch · 07/09/2006 10:27

That would be fab Wallace and if i venture up in the highlands i'll do the same

I'm halfway between Glasgow and Edinburgh, whereabouts are you?

There is someone else i think but can't think who?

Right well this is my zillionth attempt at posting. I keep typing long updates then the site crashes on me when I submit.

Just to say that I'm still here, reading all posts but frustratingly unable to post myself! Thomas is fine, weighs 10lb at 7 weeks, waking once a night, pooing every 4 days! I'm knackered and getting little help from ultra-busy H (not his fault), struggling with school runs and all the rest, but hanging on!

Live in Brittany btw, I doubt there's anyone near me!
