Swimming,dancing...I want a mum like you, sounds so much fun!

nuria · 30/09/2006 12:32

Jeanie G, that must be so unconfortable... I would go to the gp asap!

FirstAtForty · 30/09/2006 14:52

Morning all
Welcome to Nuria and Tearingmyhearout

Usandbump ? so sorry to hear you?ve had a difficult time, hope Zack?s on the mend from his cold now and sleeping better so that you can get some more rest soon. Sending {{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}

Emma has had a poo now ? first for 5 days! Glad it?s not anything to worry about though HC. She seems well enough in herself anyway. Consistency and colour has changed to being more like chunky peanut butter [eeeeeeewwww emoticon]

She has a new name ? Miss Moodswing ? she effortlessly manages to be screaming one second and grinning away the next, and vice versa. She can even cry and smile at the same time when you?re try to humour her out of a bad mood. She?s going to be a drama queen I think. And probably a bit of a shameless slapper too ? her favourite thing is lying naked, kicking her legs in the air !!

It?s coming to crunch time re decisions about going back to work and I?m really dreading having to send her to nursery, she will only be 5 1/2 months and will probably have to go for about 3 days a weeks as there are no other childcare options (family too far away). What ages have everyone else?s lo?s gone to nursery or are planning to go?

Have good Saturdays everyone. Getting excited about the X Factor ? double bill tonight ? though still suffering Maria withdrawal symptoms !

xx

Evening all,

haven't read all the messages. I am going out tonight for the first time since my dd arrived. Slightly nervous as it will be strange not to be with her, she is my constant companion!

my dd wears pampas no.1 at the moment. I did try reusuables, I have some Bambino Mios. The main reason I bought them was that the patterns on them are so stylish. It's important to start her young on looking good. anyway I found that they leak sometimes and don't fit well at the waist. such a shame - does anyone else use them? i might need to get the next size up.

i hope everyone is having a calm weekend with their babies.

oh and another thought, after many nappy changes I can no longer have curry sauce! I used to quite like chips and curry sauce occasionally... i have a sophisticated palate.

oh and for the list I am in wiltshire but often go to london. I know stafford well as i have taken my driving test there a number of times....

just interested but which was worse for everyone driving test or giving birth? Driving test was worse for me tortuous and drawn out!!

bye!

HumphreysCorner · 30/09/2006 19:16

chester-I took 5- yes 5 driving tests and have only given birth twice. Yep, giving birth was less stressful

mistypeaks · 30/09/2006 20:32

well in its favour the driving test was a LOT quicker . . .

Morning all

Dodging in and out of mumsnet at mo - trying to work out why my DS seems to be waking every hour for last 2 weeks from 12am til 7am (but not always for food). Hence v v v tired and lacking in energy. Has had cold on and off now since 8 weeks jabs - now 12 weeks.

Kayzed - do you sleep your LO on raise mattress, if so how do you manage to make sure they dont end up working their way so that they are almost at the bottom of the cot, like my DS did last night! First night in the cotbed, not moses basket, as was convinced he kept waking himself up by hitting the sides ....not sure now. Really feel for all those other mums who are suffering from sleep deprivation and reflux obsession! - it ruins your day and makes going anyway that much harder. Am beginning to think that its not possible for reflux babies to sleep thro night as you just cant fill them up the same during the daytime. Sorry for being negative (yet again) - just cant wait for when he sleeps thro the night!

On positive note - we go once a week to sensory babies at Childrens Centre - which is fantastic with loads of lights, different sounds and objects to feel in a special sensory room - Roo even managed to stay awake for the whole session! Am going to try swimming next week...

ps GetInTheBackoftheVan - I live near Newcastle - sorry its taken soooo long to reply.

kayzed - hope you get things sorted and at your gp.

MIL visit went fine, Dom behaved like the model baby, smiling, gurgling and playing all day yesterday. MIL got lots of cuddles and play so think she went home satisfied. And the best thing is, Dom is obv such a healthy and happy babe, no need for any advice!

nuria · 01/10/2006 19:52

hi everybody,
having an awful weekend, my dd reflux has been really really bad yesterday and today. Kayzed and Splat, feeling very sympathetic with you both... . Somedays is really hard, she cries every single feed and is impossible to calm her ...
kayzed, I've never managed to give her 30 oz in a day!! What's your dd's weight? Mine is only 11 pounds, tell me yours is bigger or I'll star worrying!
The difference between enfamil ar and the others is that while the others have corn (a cereal that tends to be allergenic for many people, specially people with blood type O-like my dd-) the enfamil is based on rice (much better tolerated )
Splat, we tried to put something under the cot to elevate her head but honestly we haven't noticed any difference at all. She feels always well at night anyway. During the day there's no way I can put her down. 90% of the time she is attached to me or my dh with the babybjorn, 10% she is in the bouncer.
Tomorrow I have the first session with a craneal osteopath but I'm so worried she will cry all the time and it will be a waste of time and money..
Kayzed, if I were you I'd take her to the paed. asap. At least you will be able to know if it's the cause of the reflux.
Humphreys, thanks for telling me how to get to the pub, will try to have lunch there as soon as posible
Hope everybody else had a great Sunday.

maewest · 01/10/2006 20:30

Didn't mean to sound smug in that last post, just light-headed with relief that the visit went ok. Also last time MIL visited Dom was definitely not such a healthy & happy babe as we were just about to get admitted to hosp for 3 days with jaundice .

evening ladies, had a poo day today. Woke up with awful stomach pains, still haven't been for post natal check at docs so convinced myself my uterus was going to explode - seems better(ish) now though. Babies were good though (if both refusing to sleep!) Suppose I shouldn't grumble - I've had it better than a lot of you.
Kayzed - Really think your GP needs a whack!!
Hope the rest of you have a good night.

dd2 is 11 weeks today. I'll give it a couple of days. Saying that I should just go and get my post natal done in the next couple of days regardless. I'm just useless at looking after myself. I know I should. Apart from anything else I need to get the whole contraception thing sorted out!! DH is hankering after baby 3 and until I'm officially on the contraception route he'll think there's still hope . . .

Hi all,

Hope you get things sorted, Kayzed, bad that your GP has let you down.

Sefton has developed a sleep routine of:
Bed by 8/8:30... sleeps through to 2:30/3
feed and down in half an hour, and sleeps to 6:30 or so.

SO what I have been trying to do is give him a dream feed (formula) at 12, thinking he then might sleep through til 6 or 7, but noooooooooo, he still wakes up at 2:30 regardless!
This is most odd? Any ideas what I could try?

I am feeling really rubbish today, am going to take him out for a walk to try and cheer myself up. Might try excercising too, have some Nel McAndrew excercise DVDs!
