Hi girls!!
Guess what I'm an auntie!! My sister had little boy this morning weighing *8lb 13oz. She woke up at 1pm this morning waters breaking and went to hospital as they asked her to come in and be checked bp 185/139!! told no going home no waterbirth and a drip to get things going! Dilated fast then pushed for 1 hr 30mins baby's shoulders stuck episiotomy(sp) and many threats of vontouse etc finally came out. My poor sister it's her first she's bruised and the baby has a big cone head and is all bruised The longest I pushed for was about 20mins with my first. Weird seeing her as a mum shes my big sister but I had abbie and cameron when I was 18 and 21 and she did the degree and job thing first! So I'll have 2 little men to love we are sharing child care when we go back to work double buggies are us here I come.

Back to hospital tommorow for check up. Logan is much happier again cooing and all that cute stuff

Since stopping bf he is still trying to feed like bf baby ie 2-3 oz feeds every 2 ish hours it's such a waste!!!

Logan will be 8 weeks on wednesday and I haven't heard anything about jabs! His 6week check isn't till next week. Do you think I should chase it?

Sorry guys going on a bit tonight
Good night sweet dreams

HumphreysCorner · 25/09/2006 22:00

whitestar-congrats on being an auntie.

My HV gave me Sophie's jab appointment time 2 weeks before (at 6 weeks, just before my 6 week check up) At the jabs Sophie had her check up too.

kayzed-lol! Yep will keep BF but only until the teeth arrive (and well before No 3) Teeth and nipples are a no no. You know when you freeze EBM-what do you freeze it in and can you put 2 frozen bits together when defrosted i.e. milk expressed on different days?

Time for bed said Zebedee.

KiwiKat · 25/09/2006 22:35

Just popping in very quickly to say hello before I feed Max and go to bed. We went to yoga and baby massage today, and as a result of all that physical stimulation, he has spent a large percentage of the day pooing, and I've had to keep changing him and soaking his clothes.

I'm still BF and hope to keep it up for a while yet. I really enjoy it - does that make me weird? Dreading the thought of those sharp little teeth, though ...

hey all

had a very bad night last night, dd(2) woke last night and kept us up for 2 hours, so tiring and frustrating but luckily ds slept through!!

just wanted to find out, have your periods started yet because i stopped breatfeedinf when ds was 6 weeks and since post pregnancy bleed, i havent had a period! when should it normally start?

agalch · 26/09/2006 07:25

Morning girls

HC i'm stil bf and prob will for a couple of years.I bf ds2 till he was 2.5 and bf dd1 till i was 7 months pg with dd2.it is hard going sometimes but i do like it.

Whitestar great news and great that you and your sister can share the childcare.

Dd1 has had a stinking cold all weekend and dreading Eilidh getting it as she has her 1st set of jabs on thursday.I havn't even had an appt through for her 6 week check. Will say to the HV on thursday when i see her.

Kiwikat,i have had the odd sharp nip from my lo's when they got teeth but it's honestly not that bad.A lot of friends think i'm a bit weird for feeding so long but it's worth it.

Eilidh loves her kick and play chair and goes mad under her baby gym too.She is so vocal now and makes loads of noise when we talk to her.And the smiles just kill me,i get a bit weepy now and again cos i love her so much.Dd1 is so good with her too, always kissing her and wanting to hold her.

Well we are off to a "peep class",never been before so hope it's good.

take care xx

maewest · 26/09/2006 08:25

Dom also loves his baby gym - my mum used to work for a toy library and has lent us their old one (apparently they have new one with flashing lights, music etc). The look of excitement when his flailing arms manage to make all the bits crash together is fab

Off for 8 week check & jabs this morning. Take care all.

Oh and after the first few weeks (which were hard work) bf has become much more enjoyable. Gives me an excuse to just sit down and give him a cuddle, and when he falls off the boob with a big grin on his face (as he did at breakfast) it's pretty cool . Me and my 2 bros were bf, and all my friends with babies recently have bf, so feel I've had lots of support. Really helpful to talk to my mum when was in tears when the milk came in etc, she was able to tell me that it did get easier, and it has mostly.

HumphreysCorner · 26/09/2006 09:04

Morning ladies

agalch-peep class???? Is there something you should be telling us

kayzed-I shoved 1oz I expressed in an ordinary freezer bag so I suppose that is no good is it? Best get some proper bags.

prettymum-sorry you had a rough night-sets you back a bit doesn't it?

Well, did the 'deed' again-ouch still where my tear was. Had to resort to the old faithful KY. (Read the sell by date later and it was 2002 )

Nice and sunny today which makes the inside of my windows look disgusting especially where I have sprayed copious amounts of fly spray.

DH rant coming up. My dad has offered to tile in our kitchen because 6 years later we are still tileless so dad also offered to paint the ceiling (which has never been done) and repaint the walls and white bits to freshen it up. But DH is not having any of it because he 'wants to do it himself as nobody can paint as perfectly as him ??????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????? I got cross with him on Saturday as people are trying to help and he just won't accept any help but will never ever get it done himself. GGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, have a nice day and love to all.

nixnoo · 26/09/2006 09:06

morning,
I am still bf, and will for ar least 6 months... now that it has got easier and isn't painful it isn't so much of a chore.
meant to be going for injections today but will wait another week cos he is not himself today, and I don't want to make him feel worse

koshka, you havent been around a few days, how are things with you?

have to clean the flat today, I think it is bordering on a health hazzard!

mistypeaks · 26/09/2006 09:23

Hi I'm new to mumsnet and dd2 was born 23rd July. Can I join in please? Would be nice. Also have dd1 who is 15months.

lori21 · 26/09/2006 09:35

Morning everyone,

I'm still bf and hopefully will for about a year. The amount of trauma I went through to start i want to continue as long as possible. i've got really painful lumps though - blocke milk ducts i think. it has been a littl stressed her - living out of bxes, electricians and plumbers around. i find i don't bf as well and that is when the problems start.

ds was a star this morning. after his feed i put a clip on arch over his carry cot and he played for ages whilst i got ready. the poor mite has to sleep in his pram and i have to sleep on the sofa bed. night mare having to put out and put away every morning and night as it is the only comfortable seat in the house.

better go ds is bored of watching me type!

HumphreysCorner · 26/09/2006 09:35

Yes of course mistypeaks-you are v. welcome and congrats on the birth of your baby girl.

mistypeaks · 26/09/2006 09:49

Thanks so much. Am taking dd2 for her injection today and am dreading it. DD1 was fine with all of hers. An so much more worried about dd2 tho, she is so much smaller and easier to upset than her sister ever was.

janenevie · 26/09/2006 10:59

Hi all

welcome misty peaks!!
Think I've finally caught up!!
HC I use boots own BM bags for freezing! They're pretty good! Hope the "deed" gets better soon I was so lucky really really dreading it but it was fine considering how battered and bruised I was KY all the way, if you've got to buy some more might as well get one of the tingle or heat ones and make it even more eventful!!!!!!!!
Congrats whitestar!!!
Prettymum I've started a thread under health about periods returning, think you've seen it general consensus is that no-one knows, different for everyone!
Cant remember who asked but Evie had a letter throgh for her jabs ( both lots so far) literally 5 & 7 days before!! But I'd chase it up, its easy to get "lost in the system"
Speak soon all

grr - was sposed to go for Dom's jabs but got the time wrong, turned up at 10.45 (on time, baby fed, clean & changed and not crying) to discover that appt was at 10 ! Receptionist made me feel really dim (I can't help being blonde) and we have to go back next week. Annoyed because I'd got myself psyched up for it and want it over and done with.

maewest · 26/09/2006 11:14

oh and welcome to misty peaks.

HC - my DH is gen v good around DIY, but does do the 'oh no, don't get anyone in, I can do it' and then doesn't

LOL HC,Back from "peep".It's a class for babies up to a year, but you get older childrens classes. So took Eilidh and dd1.Was really good. You do singing, stories and play etc. It's run in the local nursery by one of the nursery teachers and it's free so will be going back next week.

If anyones interested ask your hv,lots of classes around in lots of places i believe.

Oh and welcome lori splat and mistypeaks!!
