I don't have scales - probably just as well - but I am a way off my pre-preg clothes, still "eating for two" [rolling eyes emoticon]

Sefton was weighed this week - 11 lbs at 11 weeks awww...

Another thing for snuffly noses / colds is to get saline drops from the chemist, you put them in before breast feeding and they inhale it up and it loosens all the gunk.

Went to an exhibition in Brick Lane this afternoon, DH exhibiting, and had so many people smiling at me and coming over for a look (at the baby - not me!), and Sefton was so well behaved, just smiled and was generally cute [GUSH]
OH, and he discovered how to put his hands in his mouth yesterday - hoping this means he can soothe himself at night, and give me more sleeeeeeeeeep

Koshka, you are doing so well!!! Hope you had a good day in Leeds.

Whitestar, glad the worst is over, I am sure your LO is getting lots of hugs

Kiwikat, have e-mailed you.

God Pinkdolly, if I was 10st 2 I would be dancing a highland fling round Top Shop and spending all my maternity pay on mini kilts and bikini tops .

Fortunately (for my bank balance at least) I?ve plateaued at 11st 12 ? was 11st 7 pre-preg, went down to 11st 4 with morning sickness, was 12st 12 just before giving birth (I?m 5 foot 5 1/2). Haven?t yet shaken off the pregnancy chocolate habit ? (but NEED the extra 500 calories a day for breastfeeding). Oh well, maybe running around after a toddler (when she?s toddling obviously) will do the trick

prettymum · 21/09/2006 22:37

have both dc in bed and no dp in house so enjoying peace and quiet and can concerntrate on mn!! even though my flat is in a state!!

i got weighed last week at the gym and i weigh 8 st 12 ounces!! ive been putting on weight because my size 8 jeans make my love handles hang out! im trying to put some weight on because my clothes were hanging off me, i like being curvy so im enjoying stuffing my face!!

Morning ladies

I feel great this morning.Eilidh slept from 8pm last night till 4am this morning then woke at 6.15 for a top up and is asleep again so i am enjoying a cuppa while the boys are getting ready for school.

Kiwikat Eilidh is pronounced Ay-lee and yup it's celtic.Dd1 has a celtic name too so they go nicely together.

My dp is off today and Sat and Sun so gonna do some "fun" stuff with ds2 and dd1 instead of constant housework and tidying up.
Anyone any ideas what we can do with a 10yr old and a 2yr old? Difficult to get something they both like lol.

xx

maewest · 22/09/2006 08:17

size 10 - what's that? . Generally hover between 11 and 11 1/2 stone, size 16 usually, and am about 5ft 9ish. Was back in pre-pg clothes by 10 days, mainly because I didn't put huge amounts of weight on I think. Feel much more hungry bf than I did pg (really feel like I'm 'eating for two', never did before). I'm pretty relaxed about my weight, as with my boobs and hips I'm always going to be pretty buxom (as long as I have a bit of a waist I don't care).

usandbump · 22/09/2006 09:16

Morning all

Help! All this week Zack has had terrible nights, he is waking every 1-2 hours I'm blaming it all on his jabs, before those he slept 4-6 hours at a time. He has had a cold but he is definitely much better than he was, he didn't snuffle or cough at all last night. He has never slept this badly since born, its like night and day is the same. He naps every 2 hours during the day for approx 30 mins, during the day his feeds have also changed from 2 hourly to 3 hourly but have increased at night! I tried to offer more daytime feeds yesterday to fill him up before bed but he just wasn't interested. I'm exhausted, if he would take the bloomin bottle dp could help alot more as it is there isn't much he can do

I put 2 1/2 stone on during pregancy. Iwas 8st 12lb and I'm now 9st 7lb

HumphreysCorner · 22/09/2006 12:01

Good Morning lightweights

I am 5 foot 0 inches and weigh 11st 7lb which is toooooooooooo muuuuch Told DH I'm not having another baby until I have lost 3 stone-not going to happen any time soon then!

Supposed to be cleaning so now mum and dad have taken DD1 out and Sophie is snoozing I am going to attempt some housework. Have had to spray the mattress with cleaner as the milk patches are dreadful from leaking in the night. Trouble is am going to have to put the hairdryer on it to dry it so I can make the bed.

Love to all-back later.

afternoon all.

hey Pink Dolly, nice to "see" you! I am currently 9 stone 12, was 9 stone 2 pre preg, and gained over 2 and a half during. No idea if I am in pre preg clothes as they are all in the loft and i have vowed they are staying there till I am nearer my pre-preg weight, However I am fairly certain i won't be any where near my old jeans, as all my extra weight is round my tummy. I don't have a butt either KZ, like my mum my behind is merely where my legs meet my back! Jelly Belly makes up for that however. Weight is coming off very slowly, as i am eating for 7 (hungry all the time) but trying to eat healthily and exercise when i can (not often) Am well aware however, that to get to how I want to look will take lost of situps, and lots of gym work, and there is no way that will happen, so may acheive weight target but will be wobbly forever i think. Do have 2 beautiful sons though, so I think I can cope with that.... And DH seems to be still keen....

On that note got appt at the Docs on Monday for Mini Pill. HATE HATE HATE condoms.

LOL at 1st@40's highland fling in Topshop, will you sell tickets?

Whitestar, lots of love going out to you and you LO honey, it will get sorted and then you'll forget all this trauma. xx

Right, off to wake up DS1, ram some lunch down him and take him to Wacky Warehouse to wear him out, as it is POURING with rain here. Bedtimes are now a dream, havent had to return DS1 to bed once in the last two nights and he is doing a flat out 12 hours..... Touch wood it seems to have worked........

superblue · 22/09/2006 14:35

Bloss - good news about DS1 - must be lovely to have him sleeping right thro for 12 hours

Am v jealous about all your weights - it looks like I am the heaviest one on this thread I weighed 12 stone pre-pg, dropped to 11 stone in first 3 months due to sickness - went up t0 15 stone ish by the end (making up for the first 3 months when I didn't eat) and now weigh about 14 stone (too scared to step on scales) - I am eating for England and have no excuse as I am not bf!! I am 5ft 8 but still feel v big and fat!! Once back from holiday in a couple of weeks, determined to make the effort to shift the weight - am at my best at 11 stone ish so a LONG way to go.

superblue - no way are you he fattest. io was around 14st pre pg so i am probably about 30 now.

being dumped has halped, i only tend to eat one meal a day, but it is usually high in fat!

yesterday was ok but i think my friends are proper chavs - fruit shoots, burger king, atc!
we looked like a dysfuntional family, two 10 month olds, jake and two 22 yold women and a bloke!

FirstAtForty · 22/09/2006 17:31

Hi All

Usandbump ? sorry to hear about Zack?s cold and sleeping problems, you must be so exhausted . Can?t think of anything that might help to get him to sleep longer (I?m sure you will have tried everything) hopefully it?s just a temporary reaction and he?ll start to settle again soon. What did the HV say about the bottle feeding?

HC ? sympathise re the mattress, ours is dreadful, think we?re going to have to get a new one when the bf is over. Luckily it?s an old-ish one anyway. Your mention of the hairdryer reminded me that Emma LOVES the sound of mine ? just switching it on can stop her screaming! I?m sure I read on MN that someone had made a tape of their vacuum cleaner or something - was thinking of Googling ?hairdryer soundtracks? to see if I can buy one .

Whitestar ? hope your lo is still recovering well xx

Koshka ? how are things with you?

Bloss ? if I ever do hit 10st 2 I promise I will sell tickets, I?ll pay for the champagne reception as well!!

Just got back from the poodle parlour ? felt v guilty as booked our westie in for the first time ever (she?s 15) as I couldn?t face washing and trimming her as well as changing nappies. The transformation was absolutely staggering ? she looks like the dog in the Cesar ad. Can?t wait to see DP?s reaction, he?ll think I?ve traded her in.

Evening ladies

Hope you dont mind me joining your thread - usandbump mentioned it to me on another one. Quick intro - Reuben (only child), boy born 9th July 06 7lbs 3oz - now weighs at 10wk + 5days 13lb!! Not sleeping thro yet, has two bottles in night. Also suffers from Reflux... but we are getting better at dealing with that. Started smiling when he was 4 weeks, now starting to laugh (in a roundabout way!) . Havent a clue wot I weigh - must be 9.5stone at least - which is about same as before preg - except for this spare tractor tyre around my middle! Has taken me AGES to catch up on your messages - some are v v v funny!

Hi Girls, do feel a bit better knowing I am not the only one struggling with my weight. I am trying tho, and it's weigh day tomorrow (she says spooning another piece of chocolate cake into her oversized mouth .)

Must be working tho as I havent seen Dh for a couple of weeks and today he said my backside is looking smaller, hooray. (I have inherited my mothers backside and i resent it)

Welcome to the group splat!

Am happy today coz my friend who had a m/c earlier this year went for her 12 week scan today and everything is fine. She is so pleased.

Jasmine is having a sad day today. She is usually a clingy baby anyway but today she seems to need comforting evenmore. She just wants to lie in my arms and suckle. I might as well go around the house half naked for the amount of time my boobs have been out today. Dh has her at the moment and I can hear her gently sucking her fist as we speak. I know she's not hungry as she would be manically sucking (like trying to eat her hand). She wont have a dummy, and I do quite like the closeness. But it's not a day for getting things done. Good job Dh is home to give me a bit of support.

Anyhowz just wanted to check in, Dh computer finally arrived but he left all his installation discs at work. Therefore I still wont have proper internet access for a week. I have pinched my mums laptop at the moment as she is on her hols (due back sunday).

Well have a nice weekend, and I promise I will try and make my future posts not quite so long and tedious. Big hugs to all the LO's.

Its a beautiful day here in Southampton

Glad you found us Splat- welcome

Slept a little better last night Zack woke every 2-3 hours.

The HV didn't have much to say about bottles just to try different types- the only one we haven't tried is the medela, we could open a shop!

Well got to go, visiting the great grandparents today. The 93 year old scares the life out of me dp is under strict instructions not to leave her side when she is holding Zack!

Wallace · 23/09/2006 12:23

Another really quick one - whitestar I can really sympathise, It is impossible not to break down when handing them over, and so difficult to see them in pain after and not be able to help Hope all goes opkay with the cast xxxxxxxxx

maewest · 23/09/2006 18:10

Hi Splat, welcome to the thread.

Today's big news is that Dom took a bottle of EBM about an hour ago from his daddy! He guzzled down the 3oz I'd managed to hand express quite happily (tho apparently did look a little puzzled at first). Don't think it's something we will do often (as altho bf means I'm solely responsible for feeding at night, I can handle it at the mo as he settles pretty easily now he's found his thumb), but it's nice to know I could leave him for a couple with hrs if I wanted to. Does mean I have to faff about expressing, but will try and build up a little supply in the freezer when I feel in the mood.

Did feel rather strange at first, and I had to leave the room. Think DH enjoyed it tho , in the early days when Dom was rooting all the time he did manage to locate DH's nipple (thro the tshirt) and do his best to latch on. Cue shouts from DH . He also tries to latch onto the end of your nose if you get close enough!
