took both dc for jabs, ds had his first, he screamed for a bit felt sooo bad!! but at 9 weeks he weighs 11lbs and 11ozs!! he is going to be a big boy like daddy!! his arms and legs remind me of popeye( dont know if thats a good thing! dd was so good with mmr she just watched nurse and did not even flinch! was soo proud!

i am going to get an early night, have managed to clean up here an there so can go to bed in peace!!

whitestar - good luck for tomorrow, hope everything goes well

goodnite

KiwiKat · 20/09/2006 19:03

Took ds for his 12 week injections yesterday and had him weighed, which I'm embarrassed to say I haven't done in a while. Little Maxi has doubled his weight from 7lb 4 at birth to 15lb 5. No wonder my back is killing me!

nixnoo · 20/09/2006 21:27

Whitestar, how did it go???!

Kiwikat, I posted on the meet up thread, let me know if you fancy meeting up soon.

Sefton was weighed yesterday: 11 lbs at 11 weeks! Almost doubled his birth weight now.
He also has excema though
I asked if there is anything I can do in my diet for it and the doctor said no... it is not VERY bad, patches on his feet, wrists, neck etc... but it does look quite sore and we dont want it to get worse.

Hope you and LOs all well... praying for a good night's sleep

x

Hi all,

I finally have my pc back after my idiot DH decided to fix the cables in the computer room and wiped out both pc's.

Not caught up with everyones messages yet, will have a proper read tomorrow.

Bloss- I am back to 10stone 2 but have decided to start weighing myself in kilos as I don't understand them so I don't feel as bad about the number (65 kilos). I tried my yoga DVD the other day, my god it's much harder than I thought it was gonna be. I wish I was doing as much exercise as you. I really need to pull my finger out!!

Speak to you all tomorrow once I've caught up

Night Night

usandbump · 21/09/2006 07:56

Morning all

I have had a hard few days, Zack has a cold He is not too bad during the day just a bit more demanding, he is feeding and cat-napping the day away. Its the nights!!! He has been waking every 1-2 hrs feeding a little and then drifting off. When he is sleeping I'm half awake listening out for him because he is snuffling and coughing. So we are both knackered, poor little thing its awful when you can do no more to help

pinkdolly- nice to hear from you, I was wondering about you a few days ago

whitestar- I hope all is well?

kbaby- Here's hoping your LO improves soon, in the meantime get as much help as you can and use it to have time to yourself {{{hugs}}}

maewest- How has Dom slept the last couple of nights? How did he take to the bottle? (sore point in this house!!!)

koshka- How is DS? Zack has screamed like that on 2 occasions, its petrifying isn't it?

bloss- Hope you enjoyed your swim- you are good, I think I'm good if I go out for a walk

KZ- poor Roshi with her feeding I think you are dealing with it brilliantly.

prettymum- bless your dd , what a brave little girl

kiwikat- good weight gain!

jeanieg- at weighing in kilos and at dvd, you and bloss put me to shame.

I read some of our ante-natal threads a couple of days ago, it was great, I could remember exactly how I was feeling at the time. There are lots of names we haven't heard from in a while, I made a mental note of them but it has taken me so long to post I have forgotton them I hope they are all well.

usandbump · 21/09/2006 08:40

Me again

Just want to check, do I need to take Zack to the doc with a cold? I haven't, I have been monitoring it at home but just thought that with a baby so young I should maybe be taking him to get checked? He has a runny nose, a cough and sneezes quite a bit, he has no temp though and is still smiling. He had his first jabs last Thurs. What do you think?

I also meant to say hello in my last message to HC, nixnoo, F@F and everyone else- hello

Morning all!!!

Hope you are all well and managed some sleep last night.Eilidh is doing pretty well on that score.
My ds1 was ff from the start and slept badly till he was over a year but at least i could get dp to do some of the nights.

With ds2 and dd1 and now dd2 it's been just me doing the days and nights so i'm of all you ladies who can express and get your oh's to share the nights.

Eilidh is averaging(sp) around 6 hrs at a time from about 10ish till 4ish so much better than the others were at this age.Of course she will have her 1st set of jabs next week and it'll all go to pot lol.

I havn't had a letter for her 6 week check and she was 7 weeks on Tuesday so no surprise there.Bet she has her jabs before her check.

Usandbump, unless he has a temp or difficulty breathing etc i wouldn't.It could be to do with his jabs too.If it would put your mind at rest tho you should go.

Whitestar, hope it all went well x. Let us know how you are?

Kiwikat i havn't had Eilidh weighrd since she was 3 weeks old.HV knows the bf is well established so said not to trek upi with her unless i was worried.Thought she'd have had her 6 week check done by now and she would have had her weight checked.

Bloss we are having probs with dd1 going to bed too.Until just before Eilidh arrived i co-slept with her.Dp goes to bed with her and lies down with her and sleeps on a matress in her room cos she wakes up looking for me 2/3 times usually.Means i dont have to get up and down with dd1 and Eilidh.

Jeanieg, glad your idiot dh has got you back online lol.Men eh?

i am not losing weight as quickly this time(prob cos i eat too many treats etc).I am def going on a healthy eating plan soon,i bet i'm the fattest person on this thread

HC,i too imagined you were really overweight. You are mad woman.I think you look great, not at all like your posts about yourself suggested.

Must dash so take care of yourselves ladies.Taking girls to local farm/soft play as the rain has stopped for the moment.

maewest · 21/09/2006 09:57

usandbump - have not actually tried Dom with bottle yet as my freezer haul of milk totals about 100ml (in 4 seperate bags) as I have given up with the pump and am just 'milking' a bit off by hand after his 7ish am feed while he wriggles next to me playing with his baby gym (thank god they don't remember any of this, I could be warping the poor boy ).

Think I will get DH to defrost a few of my meagre offerings and try with a bottle at the weekend when we're all feeling calm. Don't want it to become another thing to stress about, as generally feeding is going really well, if frequent (I reason that he knows what he needs). He has his 8 wk check in 2 parts - this pm we're going to baby clinic for all his measurements, then jabs at the surgery next Tues . He was weighed about 10 days ago and was 11lb 4oz (8lb 8oz at birth).

take care ladies with babies... the sun is shining here so we're going OUT, and sod the housework

koshka1984 · 21/09/2006 10:03

hello,

jake has not been measureed in lenght at all, even when he was born. he has had his head measured twice.

feeling like poo again today. feel like single mother already, even though he is still living in my house, he wont even change a nappy/pass me a new babygro from the pile.

i am going into leeds today to meet my exboyfriend, who has a baby who is 18months. he refused to believe it was his and spent 900 pounds on a DNA test. We went out a very long time ago, thank god. not that my taste in men has got any better obviously! he is giving me his babies old clothes. hope they fit!

HumphreysCorner · 21/09/2006 11:22

Morning ladies

Hugs ((xx)) koshka-it is time he left hun. Good to hear you are getting out and about.

usandbump-I read the antenatal thread a couple of months ago right from the very start when everyone joined. Reading about the sickness and cramps and scans and amnios-quite emotional really. I started it in October so next month there will be a due in July 2007 Even though I have my gorgeous girls I still look at PG ladies with as they have all the excitement of the birth etc still to come.

agalch-even when I gave bottles in the night I still did it so me too.

maewest-I'm sure bottle feeding will go OK. Try not to worry yourself about it.

whitestar-how are things?

You are all too kind. Wish you could have seen me when I was thin. I think it is true that when you get older it is difficult to diet. Was simps in my 20's but v. hard in my 30's. Haven't got time at the mo to be weighing and counting points.

Sophie full of cold-bless her. Feel so sorry for her in the night. Her nose is full of bogeys and I keep trying to pick it for her to help her breathe.

News from work, my friend who is covering my maternity leave subtlely mentioned I was taking the year off and my manager said she knew?????????? So why did she not say something when she phoned.

Going to have to go as Sophie looking longingly at my boobs.

Will catch up later.

Love to all

xxx

Still no computer working at home I don't have time to catch up with all the posts, just wanted to say HI, and lovely to see Bloss' photos of her chubby boy

whitestar · 21/09/2006 12:37

Hi ladies,
Thanks for all your kind words, its lovely to have everyones support. Surgery went as planned not a very nice experience handing him over. I had a bit of emotional breakdown when he came back to the ward because he was properly screaming in pain and he wasn't comfortable when I held him. I think it all needed to come out a some point you can't be positive all the time. Hes still very grumpy and we are waiting for the consultant to ring us because it looks like he has pulled his foot out of the cast on one side. Don't want to have to go back to hospital again today so fingers crossed they'll leave it till tuesday.
Feel more like myself today and my dd and ds1 are coming home after school today( they stayed at my mum and dads last 2 nights) so we can have big family hug and get back to normal. It's times like these when I really wish I still smoked [wink} must resist!

Will post later,
dh is working tonight so might need some company

KiwiKat · 21/09/2006 13:38

Whitestar, don't envy you having to go through that with your lo. I struggle enough when Maxi has his injections!

Nixnoo, would love to get together. How does Monday, Tuesday or Thursday afternoon next week work for you? My email is mskiwikat @ gmail.com.

Koshka, I know this time isn't easy, but from what you've said, you'll be SO much happier when he's gone. Big hugs.

Agalch, how do you pronounce Eilidh? Is this a Celtic name?

Max had a cold a week or so ago, and I took him to the chemist, the doctor and rang NHS Direct. (Neurotic? Moi?) Because it was viral, they wouldn't prescribe anything but suggested that I raise him while he slept, and get him to breathe in steam, and both of these seemed to help a bit. Not pleasant, having an unhappy baby, though.

Went out to catch up with friends last night - second time out without Max, and I felt like I'd forgotten to put my knickers on! DS had a friend over to help with the babysitting, thinking that they'd have a nice boys' night with wine and guitars, but spent the whole night calming down a screaming, colicky baby. He was quite cross about it when I got home - had to stop myself apologising!

Don't know what I weigh, but I'm eating as if still pregnant, and a naked me is NOT a pretty sight. I'm just so hungry all the time, but I guess that's because Maxi's eating so much too.

Whoops - now he's waking up. Gotta go!

sunita123 · 21/09/2006 15:14

Hi all

HC - Mirror what Kiwikat says about The steam.
I've found that quite a bit of baby oil put on thier noses generally helps. That is if the Bogies have hardened slightly. The oil softens them and will come out easily.

Thanks for the advice, Zack seems better today Its hard not to get overly worried about the smallest of things- he is so precious!

KZ- Have you talked to the staff about your concerns? I would make my decision based on their response to your concerns. If you feel reassured by their response I would give it a bit longer but if it doesn't ease your worries I would trust your instincts and remove him. Is there another centre in your area you could visit? You need to feel confident when dropping off your DS.

superblue · 21/09/2006 16:25

KZ - it does sound bad at the nursery - hardly gives you peace of mind does it?

Whitestar - glad your lo came through the op ok and things get better.

Koshka - I am sure you would feel much better if he left home as it wouldn't upset you that he wsan't doing anything - hope the meeting with the ex went well.

Just took DS to be weighed - he is now 11lbs 3oz at 10 weeks - he has put on over a pound in 6 days!!! Guess he really is making up for lost time. We reckon another couple of weeks with similar weight gain and he will be back on his centile line which will be fab.

Just going for a walk in the sunshine to feed the ducks

usandbump · 21/09/2006 16:31

Whitestar- It must have been very hard for you I cried when Zack had his injections (I managed to get outside first so no one saw me !!!) I hope he is back to his usual self quickly and you can relax xxx

Koshka- I hope you have had a nice day, the sooner you get rid of that *** the better {{hugs}}

sunita123 · 21/09/2006 17:12

Hi all,

Now that I've got a bit of time to post.....

Kavya was weighed today, she's 10lbs 11 ozs.
Also had first set of jabs at 8wks. I felt worse then she did, and I remebered how horrible I felt when I took DS to have his done. It's the look they give you..."Mummy this woman's hurt me!!!!" and the scream that goes with it. It needs to be done for their own good is what I keep telling myself.

Gotta go now, She's woken up.... Again.

Bye

maewest · 21/09/2006 17:17

Evening all - Dom is now 12lb 2oz, little porker , apparently GP will measure his head next week (didn't get measured at birth).

Slightly effed off as we have to go back for yet more blood tests (this time they are not happy with platelets level?). This makes it the third time they jab a needle in him, will have to ask lots of detailed questions about what exactly they are looking for/worried about. When I was speaking to the paed on the phone she said 'and how was he in himself when you had the bloods done last week', 'oh he was fine' I replied 'apart from screaming blue murder because someone was trying to get a cannula in his hand' . Thing is, he is such an easygoing and happy little babe, really interested in the world.

Really feel for you whitestar - horrible having to hand them over to be hurt, even tho you know rationally that it needs to be done, all your instincts are saying the opposite.

pinkdolly · 21/09/2006 18:51

hi girls,

just wandering howz everyone doing with their weight? I was 9st 4 pre pg, and 10st 5 post pg, then went up to 10st 8 after eating too much. now i weigh about 10st 2(ish). I am trying to lose the weight but have a sweet tooth.

I know some of you are watching your weight, just wandered how the rest of you are doing.

Koshka - big hugs hon, he sounds like a nightmare, try to focus on your lo and keep smiling.

whitestar- had a lump in my throat reading about your little one. i cried at jasmine's injections, i cant imagine having to put her through that so tiny. (even tho you know its for the best)

Is it me or does Jasmine seem to be one of the smallest in our bunch? She was weighed last week (9 weeks) @ 9lb 2oz which puts her on the 2nd percentile. she is quite dinky.

I love it now she is smiling and making those lovely baby noises.

Had a laugh today as my girls had their friends around, i took out a boob to feed jasmine and the four year old just stood and stared, gobsmacked, dear of her!

well jasmine is getting restless so will pop back again. bye for now
