usandbump-I have just had a 5 day bleed which must be AF and I am BF. Looked on another thread and it is possible to have AF even though you are BF.

Hi all,

I need some sympathy as I'm having a crap day.
Was trying to go and see a friend in Southampton. First my internet shopping delivery was late, then ds deceided to go on a 2 hour feeding frenzy, which I eventually terminated with the 90mls of milk I'd expressed this morning, only to have him vomi half of it back up and demand more!

Finally got in the car to go and see my mate to have my Mum phone to say there was a huge jam on the M3 and I would have to find an alternative route. Drove down the road to find a loud grating noise everytime I put my foot on the brake. Phoned the garage who said they can;t fit me in until wednesday, and the car's only 9 months old!!

Feel better for getting that off my chest.

Whitestar, you can get chickenpox from shingles - the virus is still in the lesions. It basically sits in the nerves and then reactivates. Its more of a problem in the first trimester, but probably still safer to get the mother inlaw to stay away, as the baby could still in theory get in - but only really a problem if your sister hasn;t had chicken pox. If she has the baby will be covered by her antibodies.

People having trouble bottle feeding have you tried Nuk bottles? They've got latex teats and are apparently designed for babies with feeding problems so are easier for most babies. They're the only ones my ds can use with his cleft lip, so might be worth a try.

Had my 8 week check yesterday and the GP was actually fab, so they're not all bad. She's referred me back to the Obstetricians to talk about my crap delivery and to discuss what happens if I get pregnant again (i.e. can I have an elective caesarean if I want one).

JeanieG · 08/09/2006 18:03

Hi all,

Bloss, I would love to be diet buddy's with you as I really need someone to push me otherwise I will never be able to wear anything other than baggy trousers.

I have also had a few attempts at the "deed" but I think we defo need to have a few more practises, as I have forgotten what to do!!!

Hope everyone has a lovely evening with their babies.

nixnoo · 08/09/2006 21:13

Evening all....

Sefton has been an absolute angel today - to the point where I was wondering if he is ok!!!
Hope that doesn't mean an eventful night...

hmmmmmm, we did the deed a while ago, it certainly is not like riding a bicycle!

Happy Fridays

Wow Kayzed

What stunning kiddies you have!!! Will try and post a pic of mine.My 15 yr old ds1 will know how to do it so will ask him when he gets back.

Wallace · 09/09/2006 09:04

Gorgeous kids - your ds' name suits him so much

Photos of us here We are on page 6 (when there are 8 photos on each page). We are the family group. Leo was 3 weeks old in these photos. We were at a friend's wedding. The photos of the man and boy in kilts are dh and ds1 - they both look stunning!

Had an awful night last night as ds1 fell off his bike and knocked himself out. So he had to go to a&e and they told us to check him every 2 hours in the night. Luckily Leo is feeding every 2 hours at the moment so I was up anyway!

agalch · 09/09/2006 09:27

You have a very good looking family wallace.Your little girl is really like you too.
Your poor ds1,hope he is ok this morning.
It's funny when you see pics of other mumsnetters as they are never how you imagine them. You are slim and blonde and i thought that with a name like wallace you'd be heavy and dark.Daft eh?

prettymum · 09/09/2006 10:38

my family here, first time doing this so not sure if it will work
this

HumphreysCorner · 09/09/2006 17:50

koshka1984 · 09/09/2006 18:13

hey,
wanted to get in on the action so have added another pic to member profiles here!

hope all your LOs and you are ok. Jake is now having about 7ozs every feed, but last night he slept from 5am to 10am so that gave me a rest. He did have massive hiccups tho and DP was upset that he thought jake was in pain so he brought him into bed with us at about half 7! big softie.

maewest · 09/09/2006 18:23

koshka - Dom also has the most mahoosive hiccups, sometimes he likes to combine them with a burp - a hiburp if you will

my parents were visiting today and took Dom for a walk to the shops leaving me & DH to have some 'quality time' together - and we did 'the deed' for the first time since the birth. Bit of a pain using condoms tho, Dh had forgotten how to put one on! Makes me feel like a teenager again

Wallace · 09/09/2006 19:26

thanks - of course I think they are beautiful, but it is nice to hear others say so

koshka - lovely pic

prettymum - even when I logged in it said I hadn't been invited to view your album.

Some pics of Leo here . 2 taken today age 6 weeks, and 2 from the day he was born. See how he fills his carseat

kbaby · 09/09/2006 20:55

i went to see a bf consellor yesterday about ds wind problem. she said im not latching him on correctly which is why weve got mustard runny poos and wind. apparently it should be like scrambled egg. she made me stay and feed him twice and said i was putting him too high up. if his poo isnt right by monday im to go back and see her. she mustve done something right as he slept from 11 to 5.15am thats over 6 hrs.
saw the cranial ostopath again today if theres no improvement by next week then ill have 1 more session and stop.
dh is out tonight so i have to face the evening and nighttime all on my own, im hoping it goes ok.

FirstAtForty - its a battery swing that looks like a car seat on a stand. dd used to like it when she was small. we have to keep it on high speed though as if you slow it down he wakes up.
HumphreysCorner - ds is always sick so i spend most of my day with stains on my trousers, i look a right state.

anyone else feel guilty re cleaning, everytime i finally get ds asleep and down i find myself tidying instead of enjoying a book and cup of tea. oh and i never change his nappy half as much as dd's i cant do it after a feed because hell be sick and then he falls asleep and by the time the next feed is due hes crying and i feed him before i remember.

HumphreysCorner · 09/09/2006 21:36

kbaby-interesting about the BF position. Sophie always has runny mustard poos and her farts are so loud and v. smelly and regular. Wonder if I'm doing it wrong too.

Have shooting pains in my bits-hoping it is nothing serious. That puts any 2nd attempt at the deed off the agenda-poor DH. He said earlier he hadn't had it for months-well, he has because I went on the pill at my 6 week checkup so did 'it' 1 week later at 7 weeks so only 3 weeks ago He can wait!

Going to go to bed and read while Sophie is asleep so will catch up again tomorrow. Must get an up to date piccie of Sophie on and do a link to it. Will need some help with that though.

Nighty night

P.S. You know you get an image of what people look like? Well, please tell me that both kayzed and kbaby have dark hair. kayzed with a shoulder length bob and kbaby shorter and wavier

prettymum - what beautiful photos, the ones on the bed look professional!

LOL kayzed - you don't look how I imagined. And what are you doing in my part of the country!

I wish I was turning into a rake... I tend to hold onto some extra weight until I finish bf. The HV says this is in case there is a famine (!) so I can still feed the baby from my reserves of fat! I am hovering just under 10 stone, ideally I would be 9.

HumphreysCorner · 10/09/2006 11:16

prettymum-can see the piccies now and they are fab!

kayzed-you are v. close to what I imagined which must be a first

Everyone is so slim

Had a dreadful night, must have been up 4 or 5 times-lost count it was all such a blur. DD1 had sore bits and we put cream on but she wouldn't stop yelling about it until 1am when I took her for a wee and she said it was gone?????? Then Sophie started waking up and I think she has DD1's cold so everytime she latched on she couldn't suck and promptly went to sleep so kept putting her in her pram and then she woke up again and snuffled and cried. Feel shattered and emotional and DH has just said he was off out on his bike and has gone. I have come upstairs and he hasn't even made the bed! There is all the nappies that were changed last night along with the changing box and copious amounts of tissues used to mop up sick and he couldn't even be bothered to bring them down. Also he has no idea how many times I was up as he snored through it all! Then later he will probably get all lovey dovey and I will be having none of it. Have loads of washing, ironing and cleaning to do and am supposed to entertain DD1 and look after Sophie. AArrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

Right, have a good day, off to make the bed.

Catch y'all later.

koshka1984 · 10/09/2006 11:59

HC - to make you feel better i am still in the smallest of my maternity jogging bottoms and darent even try on my jeans!
So have to wear these all the time and then go a day wearing my too short P-js. Not good when the man comes to read your meter at 2pm and it looks like your slobbing round in your p-js!

Have 'done the deed' quite a bit, but its me thats gagging not my DP, but i think that is due to other things (a whole different thread) i think hes got someone else but hes probably just busy at work.

is there noone from ooop north on here? its a shame cos we had a really busy month in my town for babies so i hoped one of you might be!

HumphreysCorner · 10/09/2006 16:27

Oh koshka hun-you never said anything. ((xx)) hugs to you. Do hope you sort a few things out. MEN GGRRHH !
