Ladies, babies, and bumps, welcome to the new thread!

Should we start this off with an update from us all like last time? I thought that was nice, especially for those who get little chance to catch up.

Evening girls

Brownie my thoughts have been with you today, hope being back at Brownies brought some smiles to a hard day.

Nova hope you enjoyed the rain

Rodeo sorry pmsl at your washing, what is that they say about not pleasing all of the people all of the time [grin} Post it here and I'll wash it again for you!

Tessasmum yay to Ash walking - clever boy

GG big round of applause for Sean's walking award. Glad he survived the check up without hurting himself lol at the bubblewrap!
Thanks for asking about Ben, apparently he is in the 'Big Boys & Girls Club' where they work in small groups getting ready for school etc. Lol the first of the newbies started on Monday and all the older ones came out with faces like thunder and a very flustered member of staff said they were grumpy 'cos it was hot - yeah right!

Right got to go as have two huge boxes of books to move out of the spare room before mum & dad arrive tomorrow and I also have a baby chewing on his cot bars and wailing as daddy has been keeping him awake planing the sticking spare room door.

Hope all others are well, has Chacha gone on holiday now? If you have sorry meant to wish you happy holidays before you went! Beks

ChaCha · 12/09/2006 22:24

Hi girls,

Well done to the little ones on taking first big steps and and all recent achievements Fantastic!

Brownie - Thinking of you too. Keeping you in my prayers.

We are on holiday as of Sunday - yippeee! Can't wait. Any last tips/suggestions for flight?

Not much to report here, DS has started clapping and waving, both of which make me giggle keeping me amused inbetween his falling off the furniture!

Wishing you all well girls, off for bath and bed, have been crying at anything and everything all night!! Pesky hormones! x

lovemybaba · 13/09/2006 00:09

Hi Ladies,

Dunno if U remember me from the antenatal thread for Nov 05. My nickname was Bamik.

Anyway I remember tessasmum and chacha and loads more of you.

Anyway - my baby came 4 weeks early so had the baby in October!

Hope you're all well x

babyonboard · 13/09/2006 12:30

Hi everyone, it's been a while! O has been ill and I've been busy playing nurse maid and cleaning and trying to sort out lots of boring things to do with our flat.

Well done to the walkers! My how time flys, remember how we were and what we were discussing this time last year!?lol.
In fact I'm overdue a bit of a nostalgia moment reading the old threads I think, I love doing that!

Chacha and Nova, glad you are both doing well, despite the sickness.
Chacha, how is your business going? or have you put it on the backburner until after baby no2?

Brownie chick, big hugs to you, I hope you are doing okay.

Londoner, how are the DC's doing? When E is well you should definitly come along to the baby gym.

Beks, again you are just too funny! I hope Ben is settling into nursery a bit better.

Diege and Rodeo - shoes ey!?lol , aah the slippery slope!heehee. I can't wait to get O's first pair, but we went to the startrite shop on sunday and the ones we liked were £45, is this usual!? Surely he'll grow out of them really fast.

I had a great, bad but can't help but laugh , moment yesterday. I put O in his cot to play whilst I had a shower, came back to find him with trousers and nappy off, weeing and splashing the 'stream' with his hand, he was finding it hilarious.
It's not the first time this has happened either, lol.

I've probably missed a lot of news, so sorry, I will try to catch up more often

bob, hello hun, we've missed you! lmao at O splashing around in his wee, so funny! Sounds like he's recovered from his illness? £45 again!

Forgot to say yesterday that we got our Bookstart bag yesterday from the health visitor. Its fab that they do it now for all children as it used to just be in Surestart areas.

And...............THEY'RE HERE!!!!!!!!!!! I can stop crying now,the excitement is back and only 3 days to go!

Diege · 13/09/2006 13:45

Hi everyone . Good to hear from you BOB, lol at O and his cot antics , can't imagine L being so dextrous, it's enough for her to pull a sock off .
Yes, I remember you BAMIK!!! How are things going???
CHACHA, well, I don't want to bore you with the details of my flight, suffice it to say, if I were to do it again I'd take lots of baby edibles like yogurts/biscuits, cup of water etc as getting them to heat up baby food was a nightmare. Oh and don't bother ordering a meal for yourself as if Z is like L, it'll be swiped off the tray in no time . Seriously though, you should be fine - think it was the 3 dds one adult thing that caused me such problems !!
Well, nothing esp. exciting to report here; enjoying day off work with dds - difficult to get used to the fact that from this month my weds is actually a day 'off' (ie.non-paid) as opposed to working from home...not that I ever did much!!
BTW anyone else watching Eastenders and the HOney/Billy baby story line?? Think it's really well done, though my midwife sister thinks not..
Right, am going to TRY to get my washong out while it's sunny
Speak later,
Diege
Oh before I forget, the second weekend in Oct looks better for us re: meet-up in Stratford, as had forgotten about birthday party that I've already said yes to on the 1st.

babyonboard · 13/09/2006 13:59

GG, glad your tickets arrived! I'm very jealous, I don't listen to Robbie at home but he's on my list of people I must see live, along with madonna, and Radiohead.
I also have a list of people I absolutely can't miss seeing live even though I have done numerous times before, the red hot chilli peppers, basement jaxx, the brooklyn bums and Goldfrapp (O was 2 weeks old last time they were in London and I missed it, but next time!..lol) Orbital used to be on that list, but sadly they have stopped.

Diege, I hope you enjoy your days off, when you finally realise they are days off, lol. Where did you get your shoes from, and how much did you pay?

I may try clarkes as the startrite ones are far too much.

Hi Deige,

Yes - I remember U too . Baba turned up 4 weeks early. Probs with my placenta so left the office on the Friday for a routine scan, only to be told that they'd have to induce me . Had the baby the following Tuesday by CS (after 4 failes pessaries )

Baba is 11 months now (thinks he's 11yrs!). Took the year off from work and go back 30th oct. So baba will be in nursery. I go back full time . If I had a choice I would rather be a SAHM

It's weird posting on the Nov 05 postnatal group. I don't know anyone there. I keep coming in here though because I know loads of people here. Then I think, hang on - baba was born in Oct !

Anyway - hope you're all well.

Love,

Bamik x

Hmmmmmmm I see we have been bitched about here

and I quote
'' By HuwEdwards on Wednesday, 13 September, 2006 3:22:10 PM
have just read some of it...barftastic "

This kind of crap is one of the many reasons I don't post on mumsnet so often now, and stick to posting on this thread as you guys are lovely and don't waste time b**chin about each other and people you have nothing to do with....

The thread titles are fun, we've had some good ones, pre and post natal! and this was a tongue in cheek, but quite relevant one imo. I am not a Cliff Richard fan, heeheeee.

And have you seen the thread with titles like 'which mumsnetter would you most like/not like to meet in person'?
What is the point in that crap.

Please feel free to go bitch back at the bitcheees, but I appreciate you'd rather not get involved in such childish crap.

Afternoon
Dp is getting B&J from school today, which will be a nice surprise for Joe as the first thing he says is 'Where's Dad?', no 'Hello Mum'!
Hi LMB (aka Bamik) I remember you too! Nice to see you back! There are a few of us masquerading as Nov babies when we are Oct babies (my dd was born 10/10), what date was he born? And what did you call him? Usual nosey q's from me!
Bob! Great to see you back too, LOL at O! I make sure Jess has a vest on at all times so she cannot get to her nappy - I've had too many accidents like that in the past with the others! Although boys are a bit more obsessed with wee, poo & willies (as if we didn't know already!) Libby & Jess's shoes are from Clarks (about 18 pounds). These little ones are cute but they can be hit and miss style wise I find!
Chacha have a great holiday! Jess learnt to clap too yesterday - eventually, think Nat and the other older ones have been doing it for a while!
Nova, you're sounding a lot chirpier, hope you're starting to feel more human
Well Jess is suffering today after her jab yesterday (which was supposed to be her 5-6 month one - yes I'm rubbish) so she's having an extra long nap this afternoon, it's left quite a red patch but presume this is normal. Have any babies had or been called in for the pneumonia jabs? They've just started giving them out with the 3, 4 and 5 month jabs now but babies Jess's age are being called in so they can catch up - in my area anyway. And she's got to have another jab (not quite sure what it's for) at 12mths then her MMR at 18mths. It's quite confusing changing every year (I MUST read the leaflets!)
Right they're back, speak later x

Rodeo · 13/09/2006 15:57

Don't let it bother you Bob, course we know it was tongue in cheek. Don't really know what they're on about, is it the thread titles? I know some of the things we post about can be mundane and everyday (just check out most of the content of my threads) but we've come to know and like each other though them, so they can bog off

babyonboard · 13/09/2006 16:12

I'm not bothered just fired up and want to stand my ground, especially against the comment that it's 'wrong' to only post on one topic on mumsnet, wft?

COD (don't take this the wrong way ), but are you are hairy-arsed middle-aged trucker- bloke?? Only DH is asking...
Right leaving all this ribaldry and high jinks behind, best go and change L's nappy...

novadandypowder · 13/09/2006 20:03

I know (at least I hope) comments like this are supposed to be taken with a sense of humour, but I can understand how people can get upset by such careless threads. I don't think there's any place for passing opinions on things they know nothing about. Are their lives really that empty?

BoB - how about using pull up pant type nappies? No velcro for that easy release.

Getting very annoyed that CM keeps bringing her 3yr old dd with her. She said it was only temporary until she sorted out another nursery due to moving house, but here we are a month later and she's still coming. Main prob is that her dd will not leave Noo alone, and all I hear is 'Natalie' 'Natalie 'Natalie'. I have told her to give noo some space, and was actually quite glad to be able to tell her noo is infectious!

crunchie · 13/09/2006 20:07

BTW BOB my comment was that your didn't like COD being rude about your thread - fair enough, but you said you din't like the MN 'clique'. WHat I meant was that MN was not the clique, you are with this thread which by its very nature 'invites' responses form a small faction of MNers. I also said that SOME of you only appear to post on this thread, which is a shame as if you read loads of other threads you would see COD et all do the same piss take about loads of stuff. That's all, please don't get your back up over this it isn't worth it.
