Having thoroughly crap crap crap afternoon today , have just sat here with snot dripping down my nose from crying, both boobs out for the milionth time trying to express , but hardly anything coming, Dd2 crying and cryng today and has hardly slept, dd1 going : "can I do playdo , painting , can I have a drink , can I have toast , can I , can I can I" NON STOP, both have non stopped pooed all afternoon too and dd2 has been in pull ups cos I thought shed sleep.

The nursury is now covered in about 10 washing laods of stuff , two huge bags of maternity I have no idea how to sell on ebay or anywere, I havent washed my hair all week , had no cuddles myself, sitting in stinky stinky milk covered pj's, hardly any sleep. Who said to have another baby , ARE WE MADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD.

How on earth have you done it dreamy, how on earth ?????????????????????????????????????

Today SUCKS , bring on a better one please.

melsy · 22/09/2006 15:30

Oh and to add to my rotten crap mothering today , poor little dd2 has just sat crying in temper and gone to sleep, not the best way to teach her to sleep hey.

dreamydowler · 22/09/2006 15:52

oh mel so sorry youre having such an awful day to be honest I just spend days like that doing absolutely nothing but lying under the duvet with the kids with lots of goodies and videos and magazines to cut up and think sod the mess its the only way to get through it the cutting things up helps with the anger and stress and 3 year olds love it. Im taking one day at a time if I only wash once a week so be it If I only clean the nursery which is looking like a bomb site once a week so be it if we eat chips again which is highly likely tonight so be it I refuse toget upset or stressed in fact I have already forwarned dp that Im spending all day in bed next week one day to catch up on sleep. Do you still have your doula mel?

PinkTulips · 22/09/2006 16:03

wish dd would stay in bed with me all day

no way i could keep her still that long.... can't even get her to lie down for a nap!

you not logged into msn dreamy?

sarahlou1uk · 23/09/2006 09:49

Morning everyone. Well, I feel like a different woman this morning! DD actually let me have 6 hours between feeds last night YES!!! Couldn't believe it when she woke me and I looked at the clock to find it was 4.30am. Just hope she carries on this way.

Having a bit of a problem at the minute which I thought I'd ask you others about, but I'll also post on another topic. I have had 3 weeks of post natal bleeding which gradually turned brown and then stopped. Three days later, it started again but I just thought that it could be my first period. However, it is still coming with no signs of stopping, sometimes heavy, sometimes light. It is fresh blood and have looked in my trusty Miriam Stoppard book and have found it could be the placenta site which hasn't healed yet. It says to take things easy and put your feet up for a couple of days!!??!??!?! HOW??? With a 3yr old and a 4 week old? She's having a laugh isn't she? I don't go to see the doctor for another 2 weeks. Just wondered if anyone else was getting the same or if it was just me?

olivo · 23/09/2006 10:17

sarahlou - not sure on that but if its any consolation, my bleeding nearly disappeared and then got heavier.its tailing off again now though, i assume this is normal. can you ask your health visitor or phone the maternity unit?

i'm plodding along here. dd seems to be settling down a bit. she still is awake for long periods of time and her sleep at night has been quite disturbed because of her cold - she seems to be feeding more often too for the last couple of days. dh is seriously getting me down - I dont think he realises how tired i am and how my moods are a bit wibbly. he has been sleeping downstairs and has been getting quite a bit of time to himself but complaining a lot, like when dd cries - um, she's a baby! he doesnt want to go out for lunch today in case she cries,(he wants to watch the golf on tv!) so i guess its me and her again for the rest of the day, i cant bear staying in all day.

hope everyone is well. have a good weekend. x

PinkTulips · 23/09/2006 10:39

olivo, why don't you bring her out for a walk? even if its only 20 mins up and down the road at least you'll have gotton out in the fresh air and you'll be amazed how much better you feel

caleb had his first jabs last night and he was a little star, just gave a bit of a yell and was fine.... he was smiling at me on the walk home! so far he doesn't seem to be having any reaction so fingers crossed.....

OP posts:
olivo · 23/09/2006 17:21

PT - i do make sure we go for a walk every day. i'm just p**ed off at the way he is behaving at the moment - I'm giving him as much time to himself as possible but he seems so distinterested in dd and i feel i'm having to do everything. i just want to be able to do some things together but all he is interested in is organising things around the pigging sport on tv.

sorry, whinge over

anyway, dd is settling down these days and crying less, the feeding is no hassle now (except aat 3 am !!) and i'm totally in love with her so that is what counts!

good boy caleb for being good with his injections

PinkTulips · 23/09/2006 19:09

sorry olivo, didn't mean to offend

alot of men find it difficult to bond with a newborn, especially if they're bf and they don't get to do much for them. its not an excuse but could explain why hes acting the way he is. as for the helping out and letting your rest, harsh words have to be had! have a meltdown at him if need be but make him understand how tired you are and that him sitting in front of the tv while you do everything is simply unacceptable..... his baby too and all that!

have you got more cranial osteopathy booked for holly?

sarahlou1uk · 23/09/2006 19:13

Hi everyone. Finally got round to posting a few photos. See if the link below works!
here we go

PinkTulips · 23/09/2006 21:14

awwww sarah, she's teeny! they're a gorgeous pair of kids, you must be so proud

we haven't heard from arabica in a while, i hope she and esja are ok?

OP posts:
olivo · 23/09/2006 21:42

ooh, sorry PT - did i sound harsh towards you? didnt mean to! and dont worry, you didnt offend me!
yes, have more cranio booked and a visit to a chiropractor too, on the cranio's recommendation. it may be psychological but i think holly is calmer since our first visit.

will be having words with dh tomorrow if he dares to go too near that tv. bloody sport!!

hope everyone gets a decent night's sleep.

olivo · 23/09/2006 21:43

sarah - she's lovely!

YellowFeathers · 24/09/2006 07:30

Hi
Gosh, lots to catch up on!

Olivo, you have my sympathies for the sport. Its such a load of crappola isnt it! I had to remind dh on friday that he had a pair of hands and that not everytime Ellis cries, is for milk! Great news about the cranio though! Amazing how these things work.

Mels, I'll catch up with you today at some point. Hope your feeling better. If its any consolation, the room that should be Ellis' is filled with laundry and dd's room is covered in most of her clothes too!

Dreamy, like the idea of a family doo for xmas. I'll start up a new thread in meet ups and link it here. If we all suggest dates that are good for us and see if we can agree on one. It'll make the ball easier to start rolling from there. Hope your ear infection is getting better.

SnowB, hope your feeling a bit brighter too.

Pinky and Sarah, love the pictures.

Not much to report here really. Went out last night and i'm really wishing we didn't now. i didn't drink but we didn't get home and settled while gone midnight, then i had to be up feeding ellis at 4 and then 6 so i'm wasted now. i don't recommend it!
I did want to ask you all something though. Yesterday i found a massive rash covering all of ellis' back. it looks like milk spots but smaller versions everwhere. now he has been really hot and a bit sweaty so wether it could be that but i would have thought it would have come up like a heat rash otherwise. the hv did mention that babies can get milk spots on their chest if its bad but never mentioned back. the spots on his face are quite spaced out and aren't bad anyway. anyone got any ideas?

YellowFeathers · 24/09/2006 07:36

lunavix · 24/09/2006 10:49

sorry YF haven't posted the reins yet will do it tomorrow

I'm getting a hugabub sling.. been eyeing them up for ages and decided they're v. cute too! loved this review on someones blog of them too here

go on, YF.. I know you want to call me a lentil weaver... (although having said that, my TB training is in less than two months!)

Kiera has baby acne has anyone elses lo got this? Well that's what the doctor said it was, but it seems to be spreading.. she looks awful bless her and people keep asking me if she has chicken pox it's really getting me down and I know it's such a stupid thing too

YellowFeathers · 24/09/2006 10:56

LUNA THE LENTIL WEAVER LUNA THE LENTIL WEAVER
pmsl!
I think you should change your mumsnet name lol.

Don't think I've looked at the hugabub slings. I'll check them out.
Have a look at my thread in health. Its "Rash on 4 week old baby".
Some people had suggested chicken pox but I don't think it is as dd is ok and the spots are just on his back.
Dh was saying that as hes been so hot and sticky , he's obviously sweating out what is in his system which is milk so it seems to make sense.

Don't worry about the reins. You've got enough on with starting work again!

YellowFeathers · 24/09/2006 10:58

Oh yes!
I've just had a look. That is true lentil weaverishness lol!

lunavix · 24/09/2006 11:59

dd still in newborn at 9lb2oz.

YF it sounds like heat rash, ds gets this occassionally and had it lots when little. Always on his back or stomach.

Maybe I should change my MN name

No I will definately post them tomorrow! They're all packed ready.

dressedupnowheretogo · 24/09/2006 13:26

sarahlou1uk · 24/09/2006 15:30

Molly is still in newborn (only just mind you!) at 10lb 3oz. However, needs 0-3 sleepsuits at night for length.

olivo · 24/09/2006 15:38

Holly is only just out of tiny baby and into newborn at 4 weeks old! have got loads of 0-3 but all far too big!!

thank god the golf is nearly over........

PinkTulips · 24/09/2006 16:55

lol....... caleb is in 3-6 months and growing out of them...... bought some 6-9 stuff last week

Feathers, definitely sounds like heat rash. when dd was born in the middle of january my phn used to give out to me for having too many cloths on her and strip her to her babygor each time, and i must say she was more comfortable. she said to check temperature by putting your fingers down the babies top and checking the chest as hands and feet always feel cold and aren't a good indication
