and yes i know i'm technically July thanks to Caleb popping out 2 weeks early but you're stuck with me girls

hi everyone!

Pink I am so sorry I couldnt talk on msn earlier. I can type fine here but I Couldnt there and windows were popping up all over the place. I am going to have Sal look at it and we may have to tkae it off our computer and then sign back up for it again to start over. I hope we get to have a nice long chat soon!

I am doing better than I was earlier in the week, and Alex's colic is SLOWLY getting better too, or else I am just getting better at coping with it??

I am so busy though with him, its almost impossible to put him down, then housework, then socializing etc that I find it so hard to get on MN and when I do I am just sad because I dont have time to read everything everyone has posted so I am not really up on everyones news as I used to be!

Anyway I hope you are all doing really well!

lunavix · 10/09/2006 21:17

melsy

I'm so jealous of your ebm.... if I spend 20 min expressing I seem to get a max of 1oz off each breast in a sitting. It's really piddling me off. I sometimes express 10pmish when dh is starting to get dd ready for her bottle, but I don't if I'm too tired as I get really fretful that I'm not getting a lot.

YellowFeathers · 10/09/2006 21:20

Evening all
Hope your all ok.

Melsy, those sheepskin things look fab. I think Kitegirl mentioned a few days ago about Milo loving his in his crib. I might put one on Ellis' xmas list.
I think MIL ordered from that company before though. She bought Ellis some sheepskin bootees and mittens and they are amazingly soft.

Luna, the sling is great. Very cosy and it does get quite warm in it so I've only used it on cooler days. But it looks great. Have had a few admiring looks off passers by!

PT, is that grow bag like a long nightie? A lady in hospital had them for her newborn. They looked just like an extra long nightie that tied like a draw string at the bottom so it made changing easy.

Eeny, I think you'll find it a combination of the colic easing and you dealing with it as second nature IYSWIM. Don't beat yourself up about catching up on here or doing anything else infact. Just enjoy the time with Alex and if you do manage to get 5 mins peace then spend it on yourself

Well here the minute one problem sorts itself, something else crops up!
Ellis' no.2's were ok in the end and he's gone back to doing normal soft ones, lol (the things your reduced to talking about!). However he's started vomiting again, just as he had started to take slightly bigger feeds. Atm he's struggling to take 3oz. So maybe the Enfamil hasn't worked as well as we thought.
I'm totally dreading tomorrow. Dh's first day back at work and he's there from 2pm till 10pm and its dd's first day at school. Thankfully the windows aren't being replaced till either Saturday or next week though. I think that as well would have tipped me over the edge!!!

YellowFeathers · 10/09/2006 21:21

Luna, will post the book tomorrow!!!

SnowBoo · 10/09/2006 21:39

Yellow, just read your post about the poo.
Baby had this a couple of weeks ago and luckily we were out with a friend whos a paed nurse. She said it happens to most babies, just anal fissure from straining.

Baby is now constipated as i thought it would be a good idea to stop half bf/half formula feeding so back onto bfing....At least he's proved the MW wrong and can do both! Got lectured for ages about how he will be confused and end up not able to take either.HA! What does she know....

Eeny, glad things are getting a bit better with Alex, poor little love must be so fed up. I think lots of cuddles from mummy is a definate must. (Thats what i tell dh anyway )

And CONGRATS to micro. At last!

Come on dreamy, we're waiting for you....

SnowBoo · 10/09/2006 22:02

Oh NOOOOOO!!!! I've turned back into a thread killer.....

Must be my new perfume. Will go back to my old one.

Thought my thread killing days were over.

Hey ho. Might as well try and beat my personal record. Here goes...!

YellowFeathers · 11/09/2006 07:27

Thread killer lol!
More like everyone was being sensible and going to bed
I stupidly stayed up and Ellis has had me up 3 times! I'm knackered now.

Took dd to school this morning. No problems, she walked straight in and wasn't bothered about us leaving her so thats one less thing to worry about! Will be picking her up at 11:45, dh goes to work at 2, then the madness begins!

PinkTulips · 11/09/2006 12:00

good luck yellow, hope your first day of being all on your own goes ok well done to your dd for taking to school so well, you must be so relieved!

well, caleb is officially in his 3-6 months clothes now not going to be able to afford to keep him in clothes at this rate! going to have to move up to his next size in nappies this week too, thank god i didn't have to buy them new for him or i'd be very pissed off only getting about 3 weeks from the first size!

hes doing brialliantly though, full of smiles and loves snuggling and kisses. i forgot how quickly their personality starts to develope... starting to see him as a proper little person now, not just a baby iykwim

Hi everyone

Glad to hear all doing well and enjoying being mummies again

Well George is a dream, everyone said i wouldn't be lucky enough to get 2 good uns, but i am

He sleeps from 11.30pm_ to 8/9am every night_, infact yesterday nearly had a heart attack when i woke up and realised it was 10am and both dd (2YO) and George (5 weeks) were both still fast asleep lol

He is now smiling lots too, and is so cute, dd still adores him, i thought the novelty would have worn off by now! but it hasn't she is always kissing and hugging him.

YellowFeathers · 11/09/2006 13:02

Right can you all stop it bragging about how much sleep your getting. Its just not fair!!!

Well school went down a treat. Although there is talk of a boy called Josh, lol! She can't wait to go tomorrow.
Dh has gone now for work. Feel a bit iffy but thankfully my mums going to come over and stop tonight so I'll have a helping hand.

PinkTulips · 11/09/2006 13:05

lol pucca, my dd does that, it was 9.30 this morning and she only woke up because i was being paranoid mommy and checked on her! needless to say i was still in bed with caleb

OP posts:
kitegirl · 11/09/2006 13:14

yes can you all please stop mentioning your good sleepers...

here's another shattered mum. I am slowly going out of my mind - Milo is still waking up every 3 hrs for a feed in the night, these days it's 10.30pm (we wake him up for that, a bottle) 1.30am, and 5am - and then DS1 wakes up at 6am ready for the day! I know it's because he is still so little but DS1 was such a good sleeper and did 10pm-7am from 6 weeks so I'm a bit shell shocked... plus probably a case of baby blues, been feeling totally miserable for a week now, DS1 is being difficult and obviously newborns are v demanding. Been thinking how can it be that only 4 years ago I was on my round-the world trip with new boyfriend (DH), going from beach to beach, surfing and having not a care in the world. Four years later - two kids, a dog and a 4x4, no career, moping around the house in milk-stained t-shirts and unwashed hair.

YF is Ellis any better now? Glad to hear DD loves her school! that's a good start!

Right, DS is torturing the dog. Hope you are all doing good, it's bloody hard work them babies but only 18 years then they'll hopefully get their own house and move out...

YellowFeathers · 11/09/2006 13:36

Sorry KG but am pmsl
I was thinking the exact same thing yesterday! We drove past the place where dh and I first met and it got me right down memory lane. This time 6 years ago dh and I first started seeing each other.
Again never in a million years would I have thought that 6 years on we'd be where we are now!
Amazing really.

Thankfully he hasn't vomited since the early morning feed.
I'd bought 2 great big packs of muslin cloths and needless to say every one is now drying on the washing line!

Hows little Sami?

micromum · 11/09/2006 16:02

Hi Everyone,

Me and dd are doing well, dd2 started nursery today she was so excited, ran in and didn't see her after that,

Sheep skins are the best invention, my dd1 never slept through the night until she was 1 1/2, with dd2 was told about these sheep skins (bought in john lewis) and put it in the moses basket, didn't sleep through the night but 10pm-4am at 8 weeks can't complain, they tend to hold the baby and keep them from rolling around.
Also they keep the baby cool in hot weather and warm in winter.

olivo · 11/09/2006 16:20

Hello everyone. first chance i have had to have a look through the thread. am so impressed at how calm most of you seem - I am really struggling to get to grips with being a mummy, yet lots of you have got more than one to deal with and seem so together!
holly is gorgeous, two weeks old today and I am gradually starting to forget the stress of the labour/delivery although i keep bursting into tears when I have to tell someone about it. we are finding it really difficult to settle her and she keeps getting overtired. all the advice around seems to be conflicting and cos we spent 8 days in hospital, the midwife only came for 2 days, so we hadnt really noticed a problem and no sign of the hv yet. am going to take her to the clinic tomorrow to be weighed etc then at least i know if she's getting enough. I'm finding the bf hard, she seems to want it all the time and my nipples are sore.

whinge, whinge, whinge - sorry about that!

can someone tell me it will get better?

kitegirl · 11/09/2006 16:34

here's another vote for sheepskins!

thanks YF Sami is fine, his speech is coming on loads, he's still weird and autistic sometimes when tired and sulking but today we had a lovely day in the park & aquarium!

oh god I have to try to have a shower somehow before DH gets home from work or he is in for a shock. I've got baby poo and puke on my t-shirt and somehow I think it's fine to walk around like that even in public.

Who's lost all the baby weight?! Come on!! I put on 3st and I have 1st to go. When I stop bf hopefully most of it will go, followed by a crash diet (=prawns, lettuce and vodka and that's it).

kitegirl · 11/09/2006 16:35

oh and Olivo, it will get better.

YellowFeathers · 11/09/2006 16:35

It will get better and thats a promise Olivo
Before you know it, Holly will be running around screaming at the top of her voice and demanding thomas the tank engine chocolates.
Oh no thats my dd

Just to let you all know, I've set up a new msn account because we don't have it on this computer but this one is in my name.

This is my address
[email protected]

I've added those of you who have it but will you all accept me!
Pretty please!

YellowFeathers · 11/09/2006 16:50

Oh thats great news KG! Dh always asks about you too. (the sod is buggering off to Austria again in April )

I've certainly not lost anything. I've got a belly that looks like I'm 5 months pg and I can't even suck it in! I've got to got to start doing some exercise soon and watching what I eat otherwise I'll never step onto a snowboard ever again!

trix1 · 11/09/2006 17:37

Hello everyone, sorry ive not posted for a while. Been usy getting ds ready for starting school this week - Rol on Thursday

Caitlin is still very good but wakes me twice in the night, which I struggle with.

Ive been reading your posts about the sheepskin blankets in the moses basket, I have not heard of them before, do you really think they help with the baby sleeping through. What is SIDS? im guessing its something to do with increased risk of cotdeath is that right?

dreamydowler · 11/09/2006 19:14

hi all just to let you know Im being induced on wednesday so hoping to finally be able to join you all by the end of the week. I cant wait
