Oh, and some of you don't seem to have aged since we got pregnant, so if you've got closer to your telegrams from the queen then please let me know!

pmsl Chloe - I was thinking that too, which was why I was gonna phrase the request that if no-one else wanted it then I would relieve her of it .

Outgrown clothes are always well recieved He has worn that babygro sooo much already! Where it is a well loved one it is all soft and snuggly, and I've been opting for that over normal day clothes too

mustrunmore · 14/08/2006 07:41

Amiable.. great. But we are on hol till Wed night now (have i mentioned that once or twice??!!), then my Dad is here, so it'll be next week before I get my life back!

Flame; that babygro came from Camden, bought for ds1 when I was about 20 weeks pg with him
What size is he in re Morthercare clothes? Got a cute t shirt that might come your way!! CAT me youraddress again so it'll be here when I get back! yours went on a bit of papaer, and then in the recycling

Flamesparrow · 14/08/2006 07:42

Up insanely early... DD's first ever "wimmin skooooooooool" today . I'm more bloody nervous than she is!!!

mustrunmore · 14/08/2006 07:56

ds1 woke upp this mornig saying 'where's the pool' because I told him our hotel had one!
He must've dreamt about Cars last nigt, as he was shouting 'he needs help' in his sleep!!

Right, off on hols now

Flamesparrow · 14/08/2006 08:02

ENJOY!

Jasnem · 14/08/2006 08:45

Have a lovely holiday mrm

I bought big rice cakes for dd1 yesterday, because she loves them and keeps pinching the baby ones! She took one bite and gave them back - they are slightly salted. I'm going to have to keep buying baby ones for her. She loved them as a baby, too, and they were a "treat" until she was about 3 and discovered chocolate.

Morgan and adm - nice to hear from you both .

I won't consider Christmas yet. Its dd2s birthday next month and I'm not ready for that.

Sorry for thase with los waking again in the night. It's not nice when you get used to sleeping and then have it taken away again.

Boy is wriggling alot, too he gets on his knees with his bottom in the air and head down, or a nice cobra , but can't get right up yet. I'm gathering stair gates now in preparation for the next stage.

I got a high chair, too. My friend gave me her old one (the same as the ones at Clown Town) which is cheap and plastic, but will meet all our requirements. (Easy to clean, and he will be able to climb into it himself so I won't have to lift great solid 2 yr old into a high chair)

sorry

dewmeadow · 14/08/2006 09:30

CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Any talk of the C word before December makes me Cant believe some of you are finished !!

DS is in his high chair which, provided he is positioned so that he doesnt slide down, he loves. He loves banging stuff on the table. Hes also starting to try to crawl - he sticks his bum up and wriggles a lot.

DS just LOVES his big sister - he beams when he sees her and just laughs and laughs at her antics. LAst night they were just laughing and giggling at each other for ages. It brought a littel tear to my eye.

I bought DS the baby rice cakes cos even though Im on a rigorous diet (which isnt working due to my f*cked up metabolism atm, and making me quite ) I cant bring myself to eat polystyrene.

Lewsmummy · 14/08/2006 09:57

Back from the clinic. He's not quite 22lb, he's 21lb 11.5oz.

CantSleepWontSleep · 14/08/2006 10:25

Morning all.

Can't believe you're all on about Christmas when it's still August. I'm def a December shopper, and online as much as poss.

We use baby rice cakes, and always ones with no sugar or salt.

Yay for boy getting a high chair Jas.

Hope DD enjoyed 'wimmin skooooooooool' flame.

lm - what did the hv say about his dry skin?

Well we're finally off to see the paed this afternoon. Have made alist of stuff I want to talk to him about but have no doubt forgotten to include lots of things that I'll remember later.

Lewsmummy · 14/08/2006 10:31

Oh yeah, she's given us E45 cream and epiderm ceam to try, the epiderm is also a wash when mixed with water so she said just use it as a wash cos is really greasy as a cream, plus that way we'll know if it's his usual bath wash or not thats causing it

ellenrose · 14/08/2006 13:10

Wow, way too much to catch up on. Been away for a few days as FIL has been diagnosed with cancer in his pancreas, liver etc. and has been given a couple more weeks to live. My Mum gets the results of her CT scans tomorrow to see if her cancer has spread so not a good time right now

Maise is teething so quite unsettled and she is doing her first settling in session at nursery tomorrow ready for me to back to work so dreading that too

Anyway that is all way too depressing for this thread so reading all the posts now to cheer myself up.

CantSleepWontSleep · 14/08/2006 13:16

ellenrose

Chloe - was it you asking about sandwiches recently? DD just had her first one and did v well .

OP posts:
Chloe55 · 14/08/2006 13:45

Really? What did she have? Did she choke it up at all?

Chloe55 · 14/08/2006 13:47

Oh God ellenrose, sorry - read your post after I posted. Really sorry to hear about your family

My best friend lost her dad last night due to cancer, it's a horrible thing for the family to go through.

Sorry if that has come across insensitive - I don'tmean it to.

dewmeadow · 14/08/2006 13:55

ellenrose - for you and your family

Jasnem · 14/08/2006 14:05

ellenrose.

CantSleepWontSleep · 14/08/2006 15:45

Chloe - no choking at all, but she had eaten bits of bread twice before for practice. Made it from 2 slices of normal white bread filled with mashed avocado and banana. Trimmed the crusts a little then cut it into 6 fingers, of which she ate about 3.5, so guess she had about 1 slice of bread in total, plus filling. Was quite cute to watch her chewing on it properly .

Back from seeing paed. Nothing new to report really. She might grow out of reflux between 9 months and 1 year, is likely to have grown out of milk intolerance between 18 months and 1 year, and he advised to continue giving her tomatoes occasionally (have I mentioned on here before that they seem to bring her out in a rash - had a separate thread for that a while ago) and just hope that she grows out of that sometime, as it will be a real pain if she doesn't! He agreed with me that if the gaviscon is controlling the reflux ok then it's better not to start using anything stronger. Think that's about it really.

Oh, and she was weighed at hospital, and has regained the 2oz she had lost at last weigh in, so she's the same weight now as 5 weeks ago, at 18lb 11oz.

Chloe55 · 14/08/2006 16:10

Your post prompted me to try ds with another rusk type biccie thing (he choked lots the first time I gave him one) He ate the whole thing and didn't choke once! Woohoo! Might attempt the sandwich thing in a few days when I have plucked up some more courage

Frizbe · 14/08/2006 17:03

Chloe

Ellenrose, hope at least your mums results come back ok for you all today....

CSWS well that's kinda goodish news re the milk probs and at least the reflux is under control....my friends dd had the same with toms, and funnily enough egg yolk! but has grown out of it as predicted.

Lewsmummy good luck with the new stuff

Flame/Jas/Dame/Dew/3k and anyone else hello!

MRM have a great hols

We appear to have a pooey bug here, dd2 poo in every nappy, ss lost control on way round supermarket earlier, cue cruel stepmum who made him dust himself off in toilet as best he could as I needed to finish paying for the shop (guess where we were at the time, shop were good and finished the packing for us and looked after dd2, whilst I sorted him out!)but I did take him straight home afterwards and chuck him in the bath/clothes in wash.....(sitting on plastic bag in car just in case!) hoping dd1 is ok, as she was a bit trotty yesterday, but I've sent her to nursery today, as she seemed ok in herself this am....I'll find out in half hour!! oh the joys of kids....

Frizbe · 14/08/2006 17:09

PS girls, anyone seen the next catalogue, there's some lovely stuff in there for autumn winter kids, particularaly like the 4 x tops for 10.99 range and the 2 x joggers for various not tooo pricey amts (all under £10.99 for dd1 and cheaper for dd2)

Flamesparrow · 14/08/2006 18:45

Oh crap Ellenrose I don't know what your beliefs are, but I am more than willing to do some strength/health work for you

Frizbe - yup... seen Next Sooo much stuff I am wanting for me, DD and DS (especially "little dude" stuff... me who hates all things written on baby clothes fell in love with it - been calling him Little Dude since day one!).

Wimmin Skoooooool was great - got in, not a flicker about going in without me. I can see the school reports now though "Enjoys participating in group activity... any group's, not necessarily her own!" She was so interested in the girl swimming next to her/the ones in the next pool/me that she kept ending up facing the wrong way .

Piled a load of veg and mash onto DS's highchair tray tonight and just let him go for it... he LOVED it - suddenly realised that handfuls of food is fun. No idea how much he got in his mouth, but he was happy .

Mwahahaha @ the ones getting used to broken nights again - having never gotten used them in the first place, I don't have that issue (exhaustion make ya evil )

I gotta go wash soap off hair...

xxx

dewmeadow · 14/08/2006 22:52

lol at your supreme evilness Flame

you are all very adventurous with feeding. DS seems to choke a lot - he is one of the youngest of this thread - do you think that makes a difference or am should I just go for it and let him choke!!?

3k · 14/08/2006 23:29

Sorry to hear your news Ellenrose, hope you received better news today.

Lewsmummy, we bought that frog for DS a few months ago and he loves it. We got a free singing book thing too and he really liked that. I popped to Bluewater earlier and had a look in ELC and they have some great little musical things for about £2 each so I think I will get him a load of them for Christmas. He has a rocking snail on order already so that will be enough!!!

Sandwiches sound great will have to get DS to try one!! He loves toasted soldiers and bread and butter so he should be ok.

We got some 9-12 month babygrows and also some 12-18 month ones in preparation in Next today. I love Next, they have some great stuff especially for babies. DH also bought DS a top in Adams in 12 - 18 months which has "Daddy or Chocolate?" on the front and "Definately Daddy" on the back!!! it's very cute. DS has enough clothes until he is a year old now so we are starting on the older bits as and when we see them. I also got him a couple of those soft Tommee Tippee bibs that you wipe down as we are going through at least 3 a day at the moment.
