CantSleepWontSleep · 09/08/2006 07:38

Right ladies - the race is on to see which of our DCs can self feed a sausage roll first!

Oh, and some of you don't seem to have aged since we got pregnant, so if you've got closer to your telegrams from the queen then please let me know!

Evening all. Also had a lovely afternoon, helped along by DD napping half the way there and ALL the way back - she was asleep within 3-4 mins on the return leg. It's meant that she's been in an unusually good mood for the evening, and is just having her bath now.

How lovely it was to see how much all the babies had grown since we last met up, and of course to meet Amiable's DD for the first time.

Oh dear for all the bumped babies though - I guess they're just getting to that age where we can expect more and more of these little accidents. I'm already not looking forward to trying to baby proof the house when DD starts crawling about!

Flame - glad to hear that jabs have been better this time. DD also seemed much better with her third set (although I don't know if that was because we'd sorted her milk intolerance by then or not). More to the point, why weren't you on for 2 days?!

Frizbe - my DD went through a phase of refusing to be in the pushchair, but now we find that she is fine in it as long as we're walking along, but if we stop then she gets bored very quickly and whinges to come out.

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/08/2006 20:12

Oh, and DD drank nearly half an oz of formula out of a bottle just before her bath . I know it doesn't sound much, but even being allowed to put the teat in her mouth is big progress!

dewmeadow · 11/08/2006 20:45

glad you all had a fab day with lovely tired out babies.

Also glad to hear Jas's boobs are not noticeably unsymmetrical

Fed up today for no reason at all. Wanted to play and all my playmates were busy, so I stropped about all morning.

Most exciting thing is got hall and living room carpets cleaned today and its like having 2 new carpets. How much of a boring drudgey SAHM am i !!? Roll on Radiohead, Guinness and no babies!

mustrunmore · 11/08/2006 20:53

Am officially jealous, given the poo state of our carpets. Thinking of buying a vax!!

3k · 11/08/2006 23:03

Thanks Frizbe for the link, I have posted a message. It would be great to meet some other mums down this way!!

Frizbe, I know I am probably bonkers for wanting another baby so quick but we had IVF with Ben and I dont want to risk leaving it too long. It could take us another couple of years plus treatment again so best get started!!! DS is a good baby so another would be great!!!

CSWS, yay for Pippa drinking from a bottle - fingers crossed she continues to do so.

Chloe - yes ear pulling is a sign of teething, I think DS has a third coming through at the bottom. The top ones are showing no sign of coming through yet.

DH at the pub so watched Big Brother and just catching up on here then bed, starting to feel knackered now.

dewmeadow · 12/08/2006 09:48

I dont think you're mad 3K. Feel the same myself. Hope you get another good baby! If I get another I would love it to be a sleep through the night from early on baby. I wonder what you have to do to make one of those!!

mustrunmore · 12/08/2006 10:41

I've had an easy baby and a very easy baby, but I really dont feel the need for any more! Good luck for those of you that do though . xxx

Jasnem · 12/08/2006 12:31

3k I don't think you're mad, either, but then I was pregnant with dd2 when dd1 was this age. I followed an easy baby with the baBY from Hell, but I don't regret having them close together.
Boy is amazingly easy, but I won't be having a fourth.

Lewsmummy · 12/08/2006 18:18

3k u know i don't think you're mad cos we're trying now too, well we haven't exactly agreed or talked about trying but we're not using anything so that's technically trying if u ask me.

angedemarche · 12/08/2006 20:38

We had our first two DC within 11 months. I would love to start trying for another baby now, but need to be sensible and think about money (or rather the lack of it), and c/s close together maybe not a good idea either.
Also because i'm a teacher i do feel guilty that I have been off from Jan - Sept for the past two years. Don't think the headmaster would be too impressed if I annouced Baby #3 on the way! So I plan to be in for a full year and then maybe have another 'break'.
I've been having a look on here every so often to see how everyone is doing. Always glad to see that all is well.
DS is doing great. He is a wee star!
Back to full time work 30th August. Boo Hoo. Got child minder sorted out and she is brilliant so I'm sure DS will be very happy... but I still want him to look pleased to see me!
Take care everyone.

Morgan · 12/08/2006 22:19

Hi all.Just checking in after holidays. Have got dd's chrsiteing tomorrow so am excited about that and have lots of friends coming so it will be nice to see them all.

CSDWS - have e-mailed you re meeting up this week.

dewmeadow · 13/08/2006 09:15

DS has started to wake at night a lot. I think it has started as a teething related thing, but when he has had a wee drink and is sleeping and I put him into his cot, the boy from Del Monte, he say "NO" !!! I have tried to persevere but am finding it difficult so just bring him into our bed. Always wake up with huge sense of failure adn guilt. ANyone else?

Chloe55 · 13/08/2006 09:16

Morning girls,

Morgan - enjoy the christening

Glad those of you on the meetup had a nice day but sorry for the poo everywhere situation!!

Why is it that ds slept right through from a fairly early age but now that he sleeps on his front he wakes up at least 3 or 4 times during the night with his face planted into the bars of the cot and shoving his bum in the air?! He can flip back easily so I don't know why he thinks he is stuck - maybe it is coz he is in a bit of a sleepy state. Am thinking of getting a cot bumper to see if the situation improves, I'm knackered all the time again now

Glad Pippa is taking to the teat now CSWS but if you saw my HV then she would be telling you that now she doesn't need one and should solely be drinking from the cup Yeah, right.

Mum is taking me food shopping today because we are in a bit of direstraits It's so hard living off one wage at the moment, particularly with dh's student debt and all our credit cards and loans. Hey ho, enough of that - I'm sick of talking about it now, that's all dh went on about last night which made for a fun saturday night.

Did I tell you guys I have started on the Slim Fast? I was doing Weight Watchers but fell off the wagon and put on 10lbs in the space of a month!!!!! I have a wedding in a fortnight and need a quick fix so the SlimFast it is. Lack of food also makes for a grumpy Chloe though

Chloe55 · 13/08/2006 09:17

Crossed posts Dewmeadow - that's exactly what ds is like!!

mustrunmore · 13/08/2006 10:06

Chloe; I've got a cot bumper if you do want one, just postage cost.Ikea one, white with little blue dragons on.Let me know, but bear in mind I'm away Mon to late Wed this week. I'll go and hold it later, and guess the postage!

Dew... ds2 feeds to sleep, but if he wakes for a feed in the night, he comes in our bed and stays there. Not good. I end up hanging offf the edge because he lies sideways.

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/08/2006 12:26

Morning all.

Seems that DD is having one of her occasional sleepy days today! Almost 12 hours sleep overnight (plus an hour's 'intermission'!) and then back to bed 2.5hrs later and has been napping for over an hour already. Maybe she's like an adult and skips sleep in the week but has a catch up at the weekend .

Chloe and dm - sorry to hear that your DCs are waking more now too. Must be extra hard when you'd got used to having your sleep again. Hopefully it's just a little phase that will soon be over.

Chloe - funnily enough I had packed away all the bottles and was trying DD with just cups, but I find it hard enough to get liquid out of the cups (except the doidy one obviously ) so no wonder DD was struggling. Got a tommee tippee one without a valve last week, but only a couple of drips seem to come out when I tip it up, so not convinced she's getting much from it, even though she seems happiest with this one so far. Bought a couple more to try yesterday as well. Kitchen has gone from looking like a bottle factory to looking like a cup factory now! Can anyone recommend a good cup, preferably without a valve, as DD isn't used to sucking on anything bar me?

Morgan - hope Christening goes well. Have mailed you back re meet.

adm - great to hear from you again, and nice to know that you still check up on us from time to time . Glad Seth is doing well, but about you having to go back to work.

Flame - are things ok hon? It's not like you to be awol so much.

mrm - have a good holiday - forgot to ask where you are off to?

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 13/08/2006 12:32

Flame - was just searching to see when you actually were last around, and found your 'hitler' thread. Am I already one of the people who has told you this, as if not then I can confirm that it is true (DH told me and he knows everything)? And Winston Churchill incidentally.

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 13/08/2006 13:44

Argh - I tried to post last night, but it must have crashed before sending

I can't remember everything I replied to last night either The only thing I remember is a twinge of disappointment that Jas wasn't noticably wonky norked

Right...

Weds - Sidmoth Folk Festival with my mum. Gave DD to Psychomum for the day, and just took DS - it was a great day.

Thurs - Beach in the afternoon with a very very pmt'd Psychomum (she was pure evil ), but she did get better by the end of the day.

Fri - Baby bashin, and an apology rice crispie cake from Psychomum for being said evil bitch . DS has a little bruise now, but not the shiner I was expecting.

Yesterday - we had a rough night Friday night... my back was aching, and DS decided that hourly waking was a good plan. I woke up on Saturday morning with my lower back really aching, and my legs not co-operating. I think my body had just had enough. I spent most of the day either in bed or on the sofa, and my mum appeared with some nice strong back pain pills. By the end of the day my legs were much less jelly-like, and today I feel weak, but much more normal.

DS has got a teeny bit of a tooth trying to poke through, and is very stroppy with it. He spent yesterday feeding sooo much, and it wasn't until the end of the day that I realised it was his first day in ages without much in the way of solids... I thought that he'd been more learning about texture than filling his belly, but judging by yesterday, he must have been taking in more than I realised.

Not sure how much I'll be about tomorrow and Tuesday - DD starts swimming lessons (at 8.30am ), and DH is off work for a couple of days, so we are either daytripping (unlikely judging by yesterday), or he is hogging the pc (very likely - Damn Blizzard entertainment and all who work for her ). Sod SHMNBN protests - Frizbe - D'ya wanna come and join me on a WoW protest??!!

Flamesparrow · 13/08/2006 13:59

Oh and CSWS - I can't remember if you told me about hitler or not

Frizbe · 13/08/2006 15:26

I sure will Flame, we've been at the inlaws this weekend and the boys, dh, ss, bil and nephew spent all weekend bar this am (when we went to crowded play place, due to rain) in front of either WOW or PS2......good job they also have a trampoline, as that's where dd and I spent most of our time and ss is now on the laptop on it again

Chloe, Slimfast, I'm sure you don't need it hon feel slimmer quickly vibes heading your way (please don't anyone mention my large muffin top)

CSWS did I read right dd slep thru

Dew congrats on the carpets, everytime I think of getting ours cleaned one of the kids drops something on it, so I'm just going to wait and see if dh decides we're moving next year, if we are, then we'll get new carpets in to sell and ban drinks from everywhere bar the kitchen until we move

Anged and 3k good luck with the next ones then! we're sticking with our lot for now

Hello to everyone else!

Frizbe · 13/08/2006 15:29

Oh Morgan, hope the christening was good
dh is home for once girls, so I'm off for a lazy afternoon bath and read of the papers!

3k · 13/08/2006 16:00

Hello,

We are having a lazy day today. Believe it or not we actually went to a 30th birthday BBQ last night in THIS weather!! Had to put a nice thick jacket on DS, felt kind of nice wrapping him all up warm. I am quite tired today, didnt have a late one but had a drink and not used to that anymore

Chloe we have 2 bumpers on DS's cot, one each side and it really does help as he kept sticking his feet through the bars.

Have been thinking about Christmas presents this weekend, had a look in the Argos book but some of the toys are megga expensive. What are good pressies for almost 12 months olds that are cheapish? I know not to get loads as he wont appreciate it but want to get some ideas! I dont know, thinking about Christmas already! I am hoping to go to the babyshow again this year and perhaps get a few bits there.

Lewsmummy, glad I'm not the only one "trying". We are just going to see what happens, I'm not expecting to fall quickly after last time but you never know good luck to you too. CSWS are you hoping to fall for another as you are not using protection either?

3k · 13/08/2006 16:11

ARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH we are having a thunder storm!

Frizbe · 13/08/2006 18:49

Thunder 3k thought it was too cold!
A really good prezzie that dd1 got was the ELC drum, its either £5 or £10 can't remember which, but it can be used as either a crawl toy, or a musical instrument
The brick truck we got was good as well, one of those walking aid ones, with alphabet and number blocks in it.
erm what else.....a shape sorting turtle, from sainsburys, but I've never seen another one since....
Oh a push along/ride on truck type thing was good as well

mustrunmore · 13/08/2006 18:51

We've just been to see Cars. ds1 loved it 'except the naughty car'. ds2 slept right through!
