Right ladies - the race is on to see which of our DCs can self feed a sausage roll first!

Oh, and some of you don't seem to have aged since we got pregnant, so if you've got closer to your telegrams from the queen then please let me know!

Would cost me £28. Too much i'm afraid (would do it during term time on an inset day, though)

Jasnem · 10/08/2006 10:57

For me the ideal would be a park with play area (swings/climbing frame) and cafe for us. I don't know the area well enough though, and have neglected the girls alot trying to find something online. Will try again later.

CantSleepWontSleep · 10/08/2006 11:14

I've texted mrm with requirements as she's out and about today. Will let you know if she suggests somewhere.

what a lot of chat since I was last on!! Still about your meetup!

JAs - my DH calls DS "son" too. WHere I live everyone calls a boy "the cub", so DH might say, "Is the cub sleeping?" I do like it when he calls him son though.

CSWS - for you - you must be wrecked, p*ssd off, nearing end of your tether, etc. WHen DS wakes I just feed him or bring him into bed. With DD I was up for fighting it more, but now I just want as much sleep as possible. I seem to know a lot of people whose babies slept right through frmo the start - how do you get one of those?

Forgot to say yesterday - Im 35 for another 2 weeks (Im going to Dublin for my birthday to see Radiohead!!)

CantSleepWontSleep · 10/08/2006 13:37

Jas - mrm says there's a park 5 mins drive from her with cafe (parking on road), but it will be v busy, or there's a small soft play even closer to her (entrance 4.95), or a bigger soft play behind tesco's on the north circ (turn off for muswell hill colney hatch lane). Any preference?

Afternoon girls!

Dd2 is 6 months today - I've done a success story as I've bf exc - I'm sooo happy that I have been able to do it 2nd time around.

Got the dd's weighed to day - dd1 has put on a 1lb in 4 months and dd2 has put on 2ozs in a fortnight - she is only 15.7 - aren't they supposed to have doubled their birth weight by 6 months?

Perhaps I need to start my blw with sausage rolls.

Hope you are all well - will try to read all the posts.

mustrunmore · 10/08/2006 14:07

Hello! Back from fruit picking, with suitably stained faces
Dont think I can face chasing ds1 round Willows Farm again, although I have got a child-gets-in-free voucher somewhere.
I'm happy with just a park as a cheap option, although the cafe isn't cheap at all. Tha play area will be packed, so ds1 will need to be supervised; I cant sit in the cafe and natter!
N20 is a small soft play, where ds1 would be ok if he goes round with Jas's dd(s).Food pricey though, and they frown on furtively eating butties under the table
Clown Town is big, ds1 is fine on his own if we pick a table in the toddler area, just incase he escapes to the big bit. I think its 4.25, but under ones are free. There is a small pen thing with soft blocks for babies to go in if you want. The food is okish, all chips etc, or there's tescos cafe right next door. We'd be able to chat happily at clown town. Its worth going just to see how miserable all the staff are!

Jasnem · 10/08/2006 14:14

Clown Town sounds good to me. Having looked at the weather forecast, outside park doesn't sound so good.

mustrunmore · 10/08/2006 14:20

lets do that then. meeting there, or at mine? its ridiculous by bus/foot from here, so if no one can squeeze me in for a lift might aswell meet there!

Jasnem · 10/08/2006 14:23

I have space for one!

I need a map/ directions or an address, and a time to aim for.

mustrunmore · 10/08/2006 14:39

I'm hopeless at directions. But its basically behind Coppetts Tescos, where Colney Hatch Lane crosses over the North circular. i've just done a quick search, but its only coming up with its sister site in Palmer's Green.
csws... if you come down from Barnet as per last time, instead of turning left in Whetstone to come down Oakleigh Road, carry on and take the next again left turn onto Friern Barnet Lane (opposite B&Q). Drive straight down till you come to a crossroads; straight over this, down a hill. Just after a mini roundabout, you'll see an entrance for tescos on the right. Go in there, through the car park towards the petrol station, drive round the back (to the right, looks like you're going into a car service place!) Hey Presto, its clown town! Big white building.

mustrunmore · 10/08/2006 14:46

Apparently Friern Barnet Lane/ Colney Hatch lane is the B550 if that helps!

CantSleepWontSleep · 10/08/2006 15:13

Here it is . Does ds1 need a fancy seat, or can he squeeze in the middle back seat between 2 babies? If he's ok in middle back then I can get you all in, and doesn't look like it'll add much onto my journey, so happy to do so.

Think 2pm was mentioned previously, but I'm happy to do earlier if it suits. DD usually has lunch around 12/12:15, so as long as I'm in one place (be it there or at home) for that then I'm flexible. Prob take me about 45 mins to get to yours (or direct to Clown Town) mrm (traffic depending), so if lunching here then a 1:30ish meet would be good, or if lunching there then whenever prior to 12.

Are you keeping Amiable up to date with all of this mrm, or are we relying on her checking in here?

OP posts:
Jasnem · 10/08/2006 15:25

Thanks.
I don't mind when. If we go earlier, I'll feed the girls there.

mustrunmore · 10/08/2006 15:41

thanks... why couldn't i find that?
wouldn't like to chance ds1 without his seat, so we'll make our own way.thanks though. Might pop to barnet first if i can be bothered, as I have to do an exchange in mothercare. and depending on time, I might get dh to come home the other way and be a tescos donkey for me

mustrunmore · 10/08/2006 15:50

I dont mind what time at all really; ds1 will want a snack there regardless of whether he's had lunch. But will need to feed ds2 in Barnet beforehand if its the earlier time; not a problem as long as I know.

Shall I try and CAT Amiable once we decide on a definite time?

CantSleepWontSleep · 10/08/2006 15:56

Let's go for 1:30 then since no-one seems to object, then you'll get more of DD in a good mood (hopefully!) before she gets worn out and does her not sleeping act!

CATing Amiable sounds like a good plan mrm.

Frizbe · 10/08/2006 16:01

'ello ladies

Hotmama, congrats on your 6mths of BF'ing
Have you realised we've nominated you to sort a Meadowhall meet up, seeing as you suggested it

CSWS, sorry you had a bad night again hon {{{Hugs}}} at least dh is about today eh, good job he didn't go, judging by the current lack of air travel available it seems....sure it'll be heading for normalish by monday

Have fun at your mini meet up girls, clowntown looks interesting sure dd1 would love it there!

mustrunmore · 10/08/2006 16:03

Clown town is a living hell But ds1 likes it!

Ok, 1.30pm in the toddler area there? Will CAT Amiable now.

Frizbe · 10/08/2006 16:09

TBH I think all soft plays tend in that direction! at least in the hols they do, but they're a welcome respite, I managed to nearly read a whole paper in one this am didn't even have to do the craft bits, as dd1 did them with ss hurrah! (dd2 slept, whilst I drank coffee and read, I felt almost normal!)

Jasnem · 10/08/2006 16:10

We'll be there.
There is something similar near us and the girls love it. I never take them as I hate it, so it'll be a treat for them.

Amiable · 10/08/2006 16:21

sorry for the silence - Clown town at 1.30 sounds good to me. Next to Tesco's too, so I can do my shopping! (MRM - you and I can "stalk" each other round the aisles!) Looking forward to it.

I went out last night to see Brasil Brasileiro at Sadlers Wells with a friend. The show was great, but it was just so nice to be out with a good friend, and not have to worry about DD (DP was at home with her). Feels like ages since I've been out. I made a point of going out without DD or DP right from a couple of weeks old, but recently I've been feeling a bit isolated at home. I miss two-sided conversations, y'know? So very excited about seeing you tomorrow - MRM, Jasnem & CSWS isn't it? [excited emoticon!]

mustrunmore · 10/08/2006 18:42

Glad you're coming Amiable

csws... were you still thinking of a hipseat? There's one on the classifieds for a fiver! I'd snap it up if I were you.

Jasnem · 10/08/2006 18:43

Why can a man only talk about a job in the pub?
He came home and moaned about dinner, then went to the pub, leaving me simmering.

Jasnem · 10/08/2006 19:03

Ok, sorry about that. I've calmed down now...at least he might get a new job out of it.

I was going to put in for the hippy chick but it's had two offers already.
I do have a new sling now, so I'll just keep using that.
