Right ladies - the race is on to see which of our DCs can self feed a sausage roll first!

Oh, and some of you don't seem to have aged since we got pregnant, so if you've got closer to your telegrams from the queen then please let me know!

Frizbe · 30/08/2006 22:26

Great shoes CSWS odd about the size differences tho isn't it! wonder where does startrite around here?
Dh has told me we don't need a photoframe we can do it all on our computer, till I just reliably informed him the monitor won't fit on the mantle piece point proven me thinks, men eh!
Flame, why you go arrrrrggghhhhhhhhhh?
So is notanotter pregnant, or going for it again, sorry to be thick....

3k · 30/08/2006 22:47

I cant work it out either Frizbe, pregnant or trying ???

Dewmeadow - Follow on milk is from 6 months and has extra iron in it so that when babies have used up all their reserves it helps out whilst weaning. We have started DS on it today, not sure if I should have kept him on the hungrier milk which is what he was on but will see how he goes on it.

DS loves the farleys strawberry youghurt that you mix with water. He had chunks in his dinner tonight and ate the sauce and little pieces but spat out the rest. I have invested in one of those bibs that catches food which is making life easier.

Chloe, have you been doing your pelvic floors? I have been currently got my third bout of thrush since having DS, doctor said it takes all the natural bacteria out of you so once I have completed treatment I have to try natural youghurt!!! Nice!

dewmeadow · 30/08/2006 22:50

3K, do you think he will react to the new milk?

dewmeadow · 30/08/2006 22:51

Frizbe - think Otter is trying for her 6th/7th, rather than actually with child just at the moment. Cant imagine her life at all!

Any buggy advice/comments?

3k · 30/08/2006 22:59

I vaguely remember the HV giving us a talk and saying to stay on number 1 or 2 milk but cant see why or remember to be honest. It has extra iron in it so he may get constipated but other than that it should do him good having the extra iron.

Trying for baby number 6!!! Wow, she must be a supermum!!

dewmeadow · 30/08/2006 23:15

thanks 3K - think Ill swop DS too - he eats loads of fruit andn drinks lots of water, so shouldnt get too bound up

3k · 30/08/2006 23:23

No problem, if they do get a bit constipated we can always switch them back.

Right off to bed now, night xx

damewashalot · 31/08/2006 07:48

Flame why did you go argh????/
Thanks for all of the b'day wishes, we want to Frannkie and Bennies - the boys fave for dinner. Don't know if any of you have been in one when it's someones b'day but you get balloons on the table which was nice, then after we'd eaten the very loud happy b'day music came on and out came the cake DH had dropped in earlier I wanted to hide under the table as everyone turns and has a look to see who's being sung at. Boys thought it was great and it was quite sweet of DH and it was a thorntons cake
More babies
Chloe I believe the test for continence(sp) is several star jumps with a full bladder I wouldn't fancy that! Pelvic floor exercises are needed, I do really well after a baby then start to forget.

damewashalot · 31/08/2006 08:00

Ah flame, read flying thread, all becomes clear, guess you're just too young looking and lovely can't remember how old you are but clearly old enough to drink! If I had been refused wine last night I would have found waking up this morning easier, anyone else a complete lightweight since having babies, really doesn't take much to get me squiffy

mustrunmore · 31/08/2006 08:20

Dewmeadow... I am your personal buggy consultant let me know whatyou want from it, and how much you want to pay, and i'll find your dream machine for you...

Flame... worked it out. to get to you, there's no cheap fares, so it'll cost me £34, and it'll take an hour to get to Waterloo, then 2 hrs on the train, so thats 6 hrs travel in a day, and we'd prob only be able to spend 3 or 4 hrs there, because if ds1 falls asleep on the hipseat on the way home, it'll be a nightmare!!

Chloe55 · 31/08/2006 08:40

Morning ladies,

I seriously could not begin to imagine life with 6/7 children, I think I would lose my mind but then each to their own, NAO is obviously in her element when bearing children

Tried the star jump thing - my continence is worse than I thought I must try and remember to do my pelvic floor. Is the damage irreversable?

I had a horrible feeling I might be pg up until yesterday when AF finally came. I am a terrible pill taker as my memory is atrocious and we have dared it a few times unprotected. Then I was about 3 weeks late!! I said to dh this am, "I'm so glad I'm not pg" and he said, "I never thought I'd see the day when those words came out of your mouth!" It's not that I don't want more children but we are so financially unstable at the moment we literally could not afford another yet.

Anyway, off to baby group soon with my friend and her 3 week old babe, ahhhh.

damewashalot · 31/08/2006 09:04

Just keep squeezing chloe
When the boys are back at school I wil start pilates classes at gym as it did wonders for my pelvic floor last time
BTW look out for weepy posts from me next tuesday when ds1 moves up to junior school, which he doesn't want to do and a week on monday when ds2 starts infant school, which he can't wait to do.

PhoenixGirl · 31/08/2006 09:11

DS woke at 6.30am this morning and i rolled over cos i knew dh was awake and he eventually got up to him and just brought him in with us. (i don't do it as often now cos i know he will normally go back to sleep in his cot) He was still tired so i cuddled him back to sleep then me and dh got up, he stayed asleep til 8

We're of to meadowhall today and there's a shop there that does startrite shoes so might have a look. Its peeing it down here so at least we'll be inside and stay dry

I'll be on later tonight to catch up properly.

TTFN

Jasnem · 31/08/2006 09:12

dd1 starts juniors on Tuesday, too (but she's looking forward to it.)

DDs are back, and chaos reighns here.
Going to go shoe shopping, then try and FLY.

Boy is not happy.

damewashalot · 31/08/2006 09:17

I just have a worrier for a first born, don't know where he gets that from

Jasnem · 31/08/2006 09:20

She worries about the strangest thjins (she cried for ages last night when I mentioned that she had a bedroom to herself when she was 6 months to 2 years old, as she doesn't want to sleep on her own...WTF?) but school is ok as she has friends in yr 4 and the jr school is on the samesite as the infants.

dewmeadow · 31/08/2006 09:25

mrm - I love you I have been lost in a dark forest of buggies! atm I have a 3 wheeler double which is brilliant for going walking and it has solid wheels which dont burst on the countless thorns on our lane. (£50 from ebay!!) But I want a single, small compact buggy for keeping in the boot for town and on to which a buggy board can be attached. dont want anything expensive - up to (afraid to say) £40 or so, but I am flexible. rem if its ebay, I cant collect.

Chloe - definitely not irreversible - squeeze forever -there was a deadly good wee thread on mn about reminding people to do their exercises! After my DD i went to aerobics when she was 6 weeks and I couldnt do star jumops for AGES!! Still am a bit afraid - not as bad after DS as it was a section but carrying a 10lb baby a bout is bound to do some damage!

DS's wee cold kept awake loads last night. Its not so annoying during the day - just at night. yippee! he has runny nose and a wee cough - poor wee man! tried albas oil drops in his cot last night but didnt seem to work. the kiddies one is very mild though.

o yes, no poos in potty yet but lots of positive talk and LOTS of peepee success! fingers crossed - today could be the big poo day. I swear, if she actually poos in her potty I am loading the car and driving into town to the toy shop.

mustrunmore · 31/08/2006 09:25

There's a tooth poking out

Thought we'd cracked the sleeping; he went off in about 2 mins last night. THen woke 2 hrs later; patted him and he went back straight away. Then woke 10pmish, and nothing was going to get him back to sleep, so he came down and watched Rocky Horror with us

Then ds1 wet the bed at 3am becaue his nappy leaked.
He's also got a huge graze on his nose; tripped and landed on it yesterday!

Jas... thats the kind of thing I would worry about as a kid. i used to cry because i thought I'd have to live on a hill with a Grandad like Heidi did.

dewmeadow · 31/08/2006 09:26

whats juniors jas?

dewmeadow · 31/08/2006 09:28

its just a step to the left.....

dewmeadow · 31/08/2006 09:28

..and then a step to the ri..i..i.i.ight

mustrunmore · 31/08/2006 09:33

Ok, let me think about it. If you can get Argos deliveries, there's some good and inexpensive ones in there.
The other one I really like is the mothercare citilite; there's often a few on ebay. They are so small and light. If you get the older design, in blue fabric, it sells alot cheaper than the new red. The citisport is similar.
Or i could sell you my single stroller, therefore freeing me up to buy another one I've been thinking about getting a pliko, and just using the fold up mechanism bit on the back as a buggyboard!
I'll also keep an eye out on freecycle/gumtree for you, because if the buggy is free, then you'd only have to pay postage and i'll gladly pick it up and post it if there's one near here. There tend to be quite a few.
tescos had some Mclarens with £20 off not long ago.

dewmeadow · 31/08/2006 09:35

theres a quinny for sale on mn now - what are they like? are they quite big?

mustrunmore · 31/08/2006 09:36

Zapp? Very small and lovely to steer, but you cant fit a buggyboard. And there's no recline at all on them.
