Right ladies - the race is on to see which of our DCs can self feed a sausage roll first!

Oh, and some of you don't seem to have aged since we got pregnant, so if you've got closer to your telegrams from the queen then please let me know!

Lewis normally has c & g apple and bluberry cereal and loves it. He had a full weetabix mushed with mlk this morning though

PhoenixGirl · 28/08/2006 00:11

Grrr this laptop is useless i meant milk

PhoenixGirl · 28/08/2006 00:15

Right i'm off to bed now, no doubt i'll be on tomorrow. night xx

mustrunmore · 28/08/2006 07:12

I've just wrapped up 700 playballs with the use only of a big bag and a whole roll of parcal tape! hope the post offfice accepts it!

PhoenixGirl · 28/08/2006 07:44

Nice, u're up bright and early.

CantSleepWontSleep · 28/08/2006 08:08

mrm - yes, cc was about a week for us. Reduced from 1 hr 20 the first night to about 20 mins by third night, and then continued to improve before we had a couple of bad days for seemingly no reason, and now she usually settles herself within 5 mins unless she's rolled to the bottom of the cot (she can't roll back as it's elevated due to reflux!). We use same technique for naps and nightime, and I'm afraid that pg is right - if you give in then you put yourself right back to square one. I can usually judge now whether she's genuinely hungry or there's something wrong, or if she's just doing her settling cry.

pg - have you mentioned lewis' gagging to your h/v? Might be worth starting a separate thread on here to see if others have experience.

PhoenixGirl · 28/08/2006 08:20

I mentioned it to hv last time we saw her but she didn't really say anything about it and then he stopped doing it anyway.

I'm gonna see what he's like today then maybe i'll start a thread. He did have a rusk just before his food last night and he hasn't had one as a finger food before and he did eat all but a few bits so i'm not sure if it was that. Because he was also sick quite a lot after his food which normally doesn't happen.

The thing that i really don't get is that he has petit filous yogurts and he doesn't gag with them it's just the food.

I'm just gonna go do his breakfast so i'll see how that goes.

PhoenixGirl · 28/08/2006 08:39

there was one gag in the middle of eating but that was all so not as bad as last night.

Frizbe · 28/08/2006 08:49

Hi all

MRM at your lodger, no your quite right my lodger was nothing like that, although he did once bring a friend to stay for a few weeks, whom I ended up 'seeing' for years

CSWS I was speaking with my friend at the wedding this weekend whose ds2 has a horrible milk intoralance that brings up his excema really badly, he was sporting a particularly bad patch on his arm, due to coming into contact with some out and about somewhere and I thought of you guys, would you like me to ask her for any recipes etc?
Could you do pasta with tomatoes, or are those a problem too? (maybe another veg sauce?)

We had a fab time at the wedding, dd1 and her friend disassembled the bible stack and re arranged them during the service....dd2 played happily with various things and only squeaked once, unlike another little boy who got carted out by his dad....luckily the local church staff didn't mind about the bibles!..... dd1 after a bit of persuasion from me (and my friend who came with me to cover for lack of dh!) got on the back of the tractor and cart covered in haybales and newly wed's to journey back to the field/marquee for the reception, and we all had fun dancing the evening away both dd's lasted until 10:30 when I popped them to bed and then sat outside the tent with my friend having a nice bottle of wine...ahhhhhh.......and then yesterday we braved the seaside at ingoldmells again I think possibly the dd's last trip to the beach this year, although we my yet fit in a visit to Scarboro to see friends, we shall see!

mustrunmore · 28/08/2006 09:06

Supurb! we took ds1 in a church the other day and he spent ages collecting up all the kneelers and building with them!

So far this morning, I've done the playballs, and rearranged things for an hour. Off to Homebase to look at toy storage options in a while. But found some old photos etc, so got a bit diverted. ds1 loved the one of mummy and daddy on camels!

And I am going to get another run in today.

Frizbe · 28/08/2006 09:11

Ah to do a run, Wed I have one scheduled for then
Dh is home tonight hurrah! although he's supposed to be straight back to weekday work tomorrow have told him to negotiate a day off (he's building contracting as well as our other own business) still at least I'll see him at nights! (asleep in bed probably!)

CSWS I've thought about your shoe problem and have come up with these as we have dd1's old ones on dd2 now

try again! starchild

FlameFLY · 28/08/2006 09:13

Boys n purple - DS wears a purple babygro lots, and a purple tie died one that was from MRM . Oooh, while I think of it - I have 6-9 months (I think - will check later) purple one, with "Baby Goddess" written on the front if anyone with a girl wants it. DS looked plain foolish

Weaning - Roast for DS yesterday. He had a little bit of everything and LOVED it. I have given up trying to give him any dinner style purees (was taking them out with us) - he only seems to like proper food. He does eat banana porridge for breakfast though, which makes life easy.

Argh - forgotten most else!! CSWS - Prepare for years of hell with shoes They only seem to like making little girl's wide shoes in bright pink or purple. Now DD is bigger she is in startrite, which cost more, but fit perfectly.

Was sorting clothes yesterday, and was quite happy to give away most of DD's babyclothes. I think I will stick with "mum of two". Feel slightly at my baby being my last baby, but we're not doing anything drastic so I can change my mind still

mustrunmore · 28/08/2006 09:15

How much do you run, when you do? I'm just nosy!

Jasnem · 28/08/2006 09:30

Morning,

/I like the shoes, Frizbe.
I may come back to that site(yet again eating my own words re not needing shoes.

i've just worked out how to use my scanner (I've had it a year)so I may put some pics on if I'm feeling brave. Sadly I have none of me with purple hair.

Boy is restless today. Porridge is going well, but he's not so keen on fruit (won't touch pureed) then loves veg (finger food or mashed roughly). Not sure if it's the timing thats a problem, or if he really doesn't like it.

I've happily given away all my baby clothes (almost) and am looking at things to sell/get rid of.
Does anyone who is using real nappies want some wraps (medium) before I list them to sell?

FlameFLY · 28/08/2006 09:34

Ooh - I meant to reply to that too - I have had purple hair too (intentionally), and pink, and green streaks.

DH had purple too, but we went swimming and it went a cool distinguished silver grey

What type of wraps are they Jas??

mustrunmore · 28/08/2006 09:42

ds2 likes veg but not fruit too.

Jasnem · 28/08/2006 09:42

I've got a MErikki, and an airflow in good condition that I bought new for ds, and a few odd older wraps that I kept for emergencies.(SamI Am pull on in blue/green and white unidentifiable velcro wraps)

FlameFLY · 28/08/2006 09:52

I'll be strong... no more wraps

Weaners of thumbsuckers - anyone else having problems getting the bloody thing out??? He gets impatient, shoves his thumb in because its sucking & = food, but then won't take it out for food and gets stroppy. Think I'm gonna just be letting him feed himself breakfast too, and have the routine of school run, breakfast, BATH

damewashalot · 28/08/2006 10:55

Just started a thread ouch any thoughts?

Jasnem · 28/08/2006 11:00

Flame dd2 will be 6 next month and she still sucks her thumb. (She didn't strt til I stopped bf though.)

Flamesparrow · 28/08/2006 11:06

Only wanting him to stop long enough to get a spoon in his mouth - not full time

dewmeadow · 28/08/2006 11:27

morning gals!! enjoyed last nights crack! Sorry I just went - computer seemed to think my time was up!

Flame - I love grey streaky hair on men... Cary Grant, Rock Hudson, George Clooney, mmmmmmm....

DS is also eating a whole weetabix for brekkie - I was only giving him a half until someone said their baby takes a whole one, so tried this morning and he gobbled it up. FGS, I eat one weetabix and Im a big person!! He loves fruit, some veg but still no potato - freaky Irish boy who wont eat his spuds!! Even tried mixing in with carrot and a wee bit of mince and gravy, but he said "no". think Ill try mushed up pasta this week.

Im SO into running atm. Could never run the length of myself before, though quite sporty, but always found running really hard - I mean, its so pointless. But in my efforts to lose weight I started power walking and sort of crossed the line into running. I think Im doing about 2.5 - 3 miles - I do walk a bit, though mostly running, and i stop to throw the stick for my dog in fields a few times.

Jasnem · 28/08/2006 11:30

Flame - does it help if you put something else in ha=is hand to hold? Spoon, finger food etc, while you feed him.

PhoenixGirl · 28/08/2006 11:39

Don't know why i didn't think of using the travel cot as a playpen before, its fab. He's been in there all morning apart from feed times and a nap (which he had on the sofa with me ) If he topples over he just lays there laughing til i sit him back up. He cries when i take him out if he doesn't want to come out.
