CantSleepWontSleep · 09/08/2006 07:38

Right ladies - the race is on to see which of our DCs can self feed a sausage roll first!

Oh, and some of you don't seem to have aged since we got pregnant, so if you've got closer to your telegrams from the queen then please let me know!

what a muppet!

must be new - sudden feeling of power has gone to his head.

i have a friend who's a new copper in london, but he wants to avoid dangerous gun-related jobs. he probably would have stopped you and walked you home, just for something nice to do !!

mustrunmore · 21/08/2006 09:56

Where abouts in London is he based? I can think of a few areas I'd rather not be in as a policeman!!

reckon I've got an ear infection. Either that or I'm teething. It was throbbing all last night.

Thell · 21/08/2006 09:57

flame - dd pulls her ear when she's tired...but you know your fella. could you see another doc? especially if ds is the same tomorrow.
btw, you have a hugabub- how do you manage with it? dd used to get irate waiting for me to tie it, and used to get tied in knots getting it off to feed her. what do you wear in order to feed with it on?

Thell · 21/08/2006 10:00

mrm - actually he deliberately opted for hackney, thinking he would get his quota of arrests needed to end his probation in super quick time!!
has more probs with his serg than the crims apparently!!

mustrunmore · 21/08/2006 10:02

Well, there are worse places than Hackney

Thell · 21/08/2006 10:05

he lives in new cross

mustrunmore · 21/08/2006 10:14

eek.

Flamesparrow · 21/08/2006 10:15

No problems with the hugabub. I have got putting it on down to a fairly fine art, but DS is quite happy to wait anyway. Feeding - I take it off one shoulder, shuffle him sideways a bit, and just lift my top. Not had too much of an issue, but I haven't needed too much - not too sure how I'd do now he's facing front more

Thell · 21/08/2006 10:27

I think winter was the problem - not easy to shuffle all those layers up under the wrap!
I'm sure DD will be much more patient now - she gets all excited when she sees me putting the baby bjorn on - she's just getting too heavy in it now, with the straps being quite narrow etc. And she's feeding less often too.

Thell · 21/08/2006 10:28

Only trouble is DH will not be able to cope with tying it on!

damewashalot · 21/08/2006 11:16

Flame poor little boy, I have a slightly low body temp too but nobody will ever believe me, it means that I can be shivering/sweating ang feeling crap but barely registering a temp at all, v annoying. Hope he perks up soon.

Going to go do some housework as if I stay sat here my legs may go on strike- just back from gym, feel surprisingly good at the mo but can I just say that cross trainers are evil don't mind the treadmill or the bike but the cross trainer turns my legs to jelly, I'm so unfit, partly due to doing so little when pg because of the SPD but even so

Baby waking up, oh dear I can't do housework

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/08/2006 20:09

Just a quick hello from me as need an early night in case it's as disrupted as last night (up roughly every hour).

What a stupid thing for a policeman to comment on mrm!

Hope all well.

CSWS, sorry to hear you had a bad night last night, makes my one get up with dd1 and my one get up with dd2 two hours later seem pathatic in comparision, hope you get a better night tonight {{{Hugs}}}}

MRM silly policeman, blokes always think they have the answer eh!

Flame sorry to hear ds is poorly agree with getting a 2nd opinion on him!

Gona dash for the bath now, see if I can get in and out without one of the girls waking up and needing me, this single parenting stuff is hard work! (that and getting sucked into oceangram and here!)

PhoenixGirl · 21/08/2006 22:29

My god its quiet on here today. Where is everyone?

DS went to bed at 8pm last night had a little cry at 4am but just needed his dummy then slept til 7.15am i think that's the best ever night.

Wish i could say the same about the dog, he was awake barking at 3.30am so i came down and sat with him for an hour before going back to bed. We live in terraced house so it's not really fair on neighbours to leave him to bark for ages its just easier to sit with him til he settles back down to sleep then we go back to bed and he's ok then.

I'm off to bed now if no one's around.

Jasnem · 21/08/2006 22:44

Isn't it lovely when they laugh...

Flamesparrow · 22/08/2006 08:29

DS seems a lot better today. Left him for a kick about on his mat, and have just looked up to find him crawling backwards on the other side of the lounge .

I've done something to my back painting Psycho's bedroom yesterday and it feels liike a trapped nerve down one side Still got a load to get done on it today, so thinking I'll dose up on painkillers and collapse in a heap tonight .

After my very knowledgable posts of "You'll be able to tell between gagging and choking"... yup, definately can!!! He inhaled a baby carrot yesterday - started choking, me yelling to Psycho "CHOKING BABY!!!!", and she came to helped panicking me - Emrys sorted himself somehow (well, nothing fell on the floor, and he stopped choking), and then grinned at us all, and I was torn between laughing and crying!!!

He prefers proper food to purees though, so I'm thinking BLW is good, even if I am not doing it full time.

dewmeadow · 22/08/2006 09:54

to much to reply to and so little time, so "hello girls" . I was off in rl for a wee while. . It was my birthday on saturday, so went off diet and ate real food and drank winw -twas great!! then on sunday, went and stayed in a cottage in Donegal (nw ireland) with babies and girlie friends. It was fantastic - havent been just with girls for ages.

lovely photo - you look so young - its like a pic of a teen mum!!

mustrunmore · 22/08/2006 09:59

Sounds lovely

What colour did you do Pyscho's bedroom? I'm just very nosey.

BTW, dh is technically from the north (or, more north than me) and he doesn't know 'gipping' either!

Jasnem · 22/08/2006 10:23

Happy birthday DewMeadow

Scary choking baby! When I went on the first aid course, the paramedic running it said that in all his experience of being called out to choking babies, by the time he or his collegues had got there either the child or parent had sorted it.

Boy likes lumps too. He was gipping on pureed mango this am, but enjoyed pieces on mango and nectarine whole.
How do you manage with fruit chunks? They are so slippery they keep sliding out of his hands like wet soap!

We've got swimming lessons this week (8.30) and I had to wake dd2 up today (she hasn't slept past 7 all holiday until now )

Take care of your back, Flame.
Back later, crying baby...

ellenrose · 22/08/2006 12:28

Hi - quickly checking in as off to Devon tomorrow for FILs funeral.

All family have colds at the moment, Maisie and ds2 included so everyone is feeling fairly rough

Hope you are all doing ok.

Frizbe · 22/08/2006 12:35

Jas, hurrah for dd2 sleeping so long mine slept to last night, dd1 until 7.30am and dd2 until 6.30 (her latest ever!) she did 7.30-6.30 no wake up's just one dream feed at 10.15, hurrah!

Jas no idea re the fruit chunks, I tried dd with hand held banana yest and she just couldn't get a grip on it, looked at me as if to say, pull it together mum, you don't think I'm going to try that again do you! cheeky madam grabbed my toast this am tho, when she was sitting on my knee, so she's tried her 1st wheat and seems ok.

Dew, glad you had a great birthday and a great stay in cottage with your friends, you can't beat a good girly weekend away

MRM, Phoenix wonder if gipping is a Notts/Yorks
thing?

oopse dd2's just woken up back later!

PhoenixGirl · 22/08/2006 13:00

I've bought a mango, wot the hell do u do with them? How do u gt into them? I know i'm thick.

mustrunmore · 22/08/2006 13:04

you sound like dh... he said it was too tough to cut, but was trying to cut across the stone!
Basically thestoneid fairly flat; judge by the shape of the fruit, then cut as close to the stobe each side (and you can trim off two thin sides too). Then score each of the big bits across two ways, and bend back to make a hedgehog thing that you can then bite at, or cut the chunks off.

Flamesparrow · 22/08/2006 13:16

Bedroom was creamy. Not been able to do anymore today - hurting too much still

Fruit chunks - DS can't hold em either. I have to do it, or its little bits being put in his mouth

Jasnem · 22/08/2006 13:55

mango

I've run out of holiday ideas, and am going a little stir crazy...off to the park.
