ecofreckle · 15/03/2014 07:00

thanks pud, worse and Betty and happy birthday toddlesome! Anyone else?
Now of to Bedfordshire on not much sleep, headache, heavy heart and coil mega period! Yippee Smile Happy weekend everyone. I think it's going to be sunny so hope you all get out and enjoy the spring Thanks

BettyOff · 15/03/2014 07:59

Take a book Eco, or a trashy magazine. Then go to a fancy coffee shop and sit and have a long drink and cake without any screaming, or baby snacks, or sharing of cake. Mmmmm. Good luck with the viewings!

BettyOff · 15/03/2014 08:00

Happy baby birthday Something. Make sure you have a treat for yourself today, well done for surviving! Wink

Anypants · 15/03/2014 09:24

Happy Birthday Toddlesome! And Wine for you something Grin

Pudtat · 15/03/2014 09:51

Happy birthday Toddlesome (kinder than ToddleThing I feel) Grin

StormyBrid · 15/03/2014 15:49

Happy birthday, Meddlesome!

DD's fine motor skills are getting more impressive. She's learnt how to pick her nose and eat it!

StormyBrid · 15/03/2014 15:49

...That was totally autocorrect's fault.

Gerrythetootallgiraffeswife · 15/03/2014 17:50

Right, it's always a sign you're neglecting mn when the only thread you're interested in (that's you lot by the way) gets unceremoniously chucked out of "threads I'm on".

Except I don't really have time to say much, turns out I've got an interview on Monday for a job I'm not sure I want so I'm in lesson planning/swotting up hell.

I'll be back soon I hope!

Oh and this > xxxxxxx

(Kisses for the over familiar Friday that I missed)

worsestershiresauce · 15/03/2014 20:12

Stormy I think that takes the prize for autocorrect moment of the week!

Eco how'd it go? Well I hope. House hunting can be majorly depressing, until the right house turns up, which it will. Crossing my fingers it already has.

Not a bad day here all told. Gorgeous sun shine and for once the toddle was actually quite well. I'd almost forgotten what well was like! Fun as it turns out. Anyone else finding the 1 year stage hilarious? It's like having a small clown of your very own. She just so busy doing such important things... all of the time... none of them necessary, but all of them funny.

Hope you've all been out enjoying the sunshine and are now relaxing with Wine

worsestershiresauce · 15/03/2014 20:13

Gerry GOOD LUCK!!!!

yummychocolate · 15/03/2014 21:41

Happy birthday toddlesome!

gerry good luck at the interview.

stormy I am glad ministormy is developing her hand coordination skills. She made me laugh.

eco I think you should have ditched the house hunting and have a 'me' day instead. You deserve it.

Well you know i said i didn't want any more babies for a while, I have changed my mind. For the past week I have been broody. I hope this is just a phase I am going through because dh does not want one yet and I always thought we need get on the property ladder before yummybaby2.

worse like worselet ds is a little clown. I love every minute with him and he is really growing into a wonderful little boy. His latest clown moment is dancing at any music he hears. He bops up amd down with his knees and air bangs his head. He obviously thinks he is at a rock concert.

I feel a bit embarrassed and feel like a really bad mum for writing the next bit. Last night me and dh was joking around and I playfully called dh an idiot. Then ds started saying "id" "id". Please don't judge and learn from my mistake. These toddlers are really parrots and copycats in disguise. Blush

Anypants · 15/03/2014 22:59

Erm yummy - 'Id' is an actual word (see Freud - Id, Ego and Super Ego) so actually praise should be given for the first actual word Grin

Gerrythetootallgiraffeswife · 15/03/2014 23:02

That's it, I'm done for the night. Thanks for the good luck wishes, I need them. I'm 2 weeks away from my 29th birthday and this will be the first interview I've done for a teaching job. Which is quite a feat considering I've been at my current school for 7 years and have had 4 promotions! That's part of the reason I'm going for an interview for a job I'm not sure I want. I'm a bit worried I'll hit 30, and from then on be terrified to ever leave! I'm also getting quite expensive compared to newbies, so it may be now or never.

Anyway, enough about me. Sorry to hear of so many poorly babies still. And in birthday season as well! I hope all toddlers are managing cake still.

Oh god yummy, has the time come already when we need to watch our language around the small people? We've had nothing resembling an intentional word here yet, but guess we'll have to stop effing and jeffing soon! (And don't feel bad about jokingly calling DH an idiot. I've called mine far worse, jokingly and otherwise!)

Eco any luck? I'm guessing no from your fb status? Did you at least enjoy a bit of time on your own? (Trying to find the positive...)

Cantturn hope you're lurking, hope things are going as well as they can, hope you know we're still thinking of you.

Betty, I pride myself on surviving on very little sleep but you? You are my hero.

Stormy- brilliant autocorrect. I wonder if something would mind us referring to TAFKA babything as meddlesome from now on?

Worse so glad dd is feeling better, you've had a rough couple of months. Let the fun of toddlerdom finally commence!

Plonky- hope I can say the same to you in a couple of days time. How's the blotchy one doing tonight?

Today's unexplained whinging aside, I love this age. Everything is hilarious apparently. Being chased- hilarious. Daddy's stubble- hilarious. Mummy walking towards her- hilarious. You're right about everything seeming purposeful worse, and dd has a particular way when she's very pleased with herself. A little nod and a contented mumble. And the chatting is brilliant, this week it has been "b'lah b'lah b'lah" pretty constantly. Last week, "bobobobobob". MIL reckons she's showing genius tendencies, as is the role of a grandparent. I'm less convinced and think she's talking utter scribble (unless she's doing it on purpose, a kind of double bluff?)

somethingbeginningwith · 16/03/2014 08:22

stormy Grin I do quite like meddlesome! Pretty apt, too! Meddlesome, toddlesome, toddlething, he'll respond to any of em!

Thanks for all the birthday love Smile we had a really nice day. Swimming party then bbq and there was lots of cake so everyone was happy. So strange to be able to have a bbq when this time last year we were all shivering!

gerry best of luck for your interview. The beauty of it is, if you're unsure, you've got nothing to lose because you can always say no! It's always better to go for it and see.

worse DS is a little nutter too. He had us laughing this morning just by laughing at himself in the mirror. Or maybe he was laughing at the state of DP and I first thing in the morning Hmm

yummy it'll do good for DS to learn those important words! DS says 'row row row' whenever he wants us to sing row row row, which is pretty cute and not all repetitive 14 times in

It's a lovely sunny day here so we're making the most of it by having a duvet day! Wink hope everyone else has lots of fun planned today

Plonkysaurus · 16/03/2014 09:12

Don't sweat the interview Gerry. As Something says, you have nothing to lose.

The blotchy one is practically his old self again (albeit with extra whingeing), thanks. He was a little bugger last night though, and woke about every 2 hours before deciding to give up on sleep altogether at 6.15 this morning. I blame the Meddlesome's epic party yesterday.

Speaking of, it was quite funny to see Mr Saurus and Mr Thing drinking tinnies together. I think they definitely need a babysitting date.

Eco is market harborough looking any more attractive now? It must be shit to feel you made such progress and now any forward movement isn't on the same lines. These babies come with lots of invisible strings eh? I hope you're neck deep in either eclair or bath, and have made up with dh.

Yummy I'd best stop swearing too. Our cats called Rosie and whenever he sees her he says wahwey, so I'm just waiting for the day he asking for some bloody milk, or where are my pissing shoes, mother?

Right I'd best hop to it. We're off to town for a few treats but need to be back for the f1. Oh! And my tumble dryer has given up the ghost. Thank goodness it's spring ad I can stick clothes on the line again!

Happy birthday toddlePud!

And plonk yy to the Mr babysitting date!

StormyBrid · 16/03/2014 11:56

Thank you for the reminder about the F1, Plonk - cheers me right up to remember I no longer have to feign any interest in it whatsoever. Do let me know if Vettel manages to have a horrible accident though, won't you?

Plonkysaurus · 16/03/2014 12:56

Oh I'm taking it as an opportunity to get the food shopping done in peace - dp can watch it alone while DS pretends to nap. Everybody wins!

BettyOff · 16/03/2014 15:37

Happy birthday mini-Pud/ToddlePud/ToddleTat!

Eco I hope the perfect house presents itself soon!

Gerry best of luck tomorrow.

We have a few words here. DH is always met with Dadda, Dadda, Dadda, Daddeeeeee! Anything she doesn't want and it's shaking of the head and then anything she does it's yiss, yiss, yiss. The dog is De-pee (Betty) but not a bloody sign of Mamma. She's also decided that after those initial impressive steps that walking is no fun at all! Unfortunately we've taken a bit of a step back in the happy baby front (I'm very jealous of your lovely stories). We do have some funny lovely times but we also have a hell of a lot of screaming, stropping and holding onto legs and refusal to be put down/go into high chair/eat etc. I want my very happy baby back!

Today has been nice though, plenty of screaming but also 2 nice walks in the park, swimming, a living room picnic while watching Pretty Woman and some nice cuddles.

Happy Sunny Sunday everyone!

OodAlpha · 16/03/2014 16:06

Just sticking my head in to wish all the babies (belated or early) Happy first birthday!

I've no chance of ever keeping up but been thinking of all the other March babies out there.
Hope everyone is ok, I've just scanned the thread and seen there's a few tough times being had. cantturnleft I'm thinking of you.

yummychocolate · 16/03/2014 16:21

Happy birthday toddlepud!

betty im sure I read somewhere babies 'forget' a new skill then they master it when they remember again. So dd should be walking soon.

Its a beautiful day in London but dh is working, boo hoo!

Pudtat · 16/03/2014 18:49

Ood! Hello! Long time no see. Hope things are going well for you back at work and mini/toddleood is doing well after her initial difficulties.

Wing if you're out there, hello and happy birthday mini wing also.

We've had a slightly trying day. Soooo glad I didn't organise anything big. ToddleTat (love that Betty Grin) has a horrid cough and last night it got to the stage where he was having coughing fits and then just sobbing afterwards as they obviously hurt. He's never done that, it was heartbreaking. He woke pretty much every 30-40 mins all night so was wrecked this morning. As were we.

Still he had some fab presents which he's going to love and did enjoy getting to grips with them, even though extra naps were order of the day and he turned down the lunch I'd slaved over for him specially. Hmm He did however wolf down his birthday "cake" - a pear and ginger muffin. Smile

Glad toddlesaurus is on the mend. Eco hope you're feeling better. Everyone hope you've had nice weekends.

Right, dh's birthday tomorrow... Our planning was shocking! Grin

StormyBrid · 16/03/2014 19:01

Ood! Good to see you! And belated happy birthday to the Oodlet (which autocorrect wanted to change to oodles).

The man finally turned up. I have spent the past five hours reading in bed with a big bar of Cadbury's caramel. It's a good day.

OodAlpha · 16/03/2014 19:40

I've actually been using the name Oodles but changed back for your benefit.
BabyOod (suppose he should be toddleOod now ) is doing great, still dairy free but everything else seems ok. :) I went back to work last week which was a culture shock for me but he's ok with it!

BettyOff · 16/03/2014 20:08

Ood it's great to hear from you! Glad you're all doing well. I've just gone back too, it's not easy is it! Do pop in every now and then, it's great to know how you're doing. Smile
