Hi all - the old thread was about to run out so I started a new one.

Little Miss was up to mischief last night. Thankfully it's DHs day off today so he took her into bed with him while I slept in the spare room. She is just so excitable when she wakes up at night. It can can 90 minutes to scrape her off the ceiling.

Sunbeam18 · 20/02/2014 21:29

Yep, also invariably just after DP has dressed him in good clothes that are not 'just for the house'!!

hedgehogy · 20/02/2014 21:37

DD is going once a day now, and they're quite firm (no explosive ones any more). They also stink! She doesn't seem to strain much, but she's still being bf and she's drinking water with each meal which might help.

She's eating a fair bit now, she also seems to have 'got it' in the past few weeks. Still no teeth! We're letting her eat until she's had enough; we don't want her to feel she has to clear a plate, we want her to eat according to her appetite.

Mrs81 · 21/02/2014 17:36

Right. I shouldn't have said ds had got weaning. We've had two days of food refusal. He just clamps his mouth shut. Help!?!?

RueDeWakening · 21/02/2014 18:12

Ishe teething? Maybe it's hurting him to chew or bite?

Mrs81 · 21/02/2014 18:23

Maybe. I had a feel yesterday, and whilst bumpy, I couldn't feel anything coming in. He's not demanding extra milk to compensate so maybe he's under the weather too. I think I'll give it til Monday before getting in touch with the dreaded hv Confused It's hard not to worry though Sad

Mrs81 · 21/02/2014 18:24

ps - smooth purees are refused too. He's a puzzle!

pinkapples · 21/02/2014 19:59

No sadly it's at a venue I hadn't realised that it'd be at 7 I thought 6pm start but obviously not Hmm

I think I'll decide next week I think it depends if I need an excuse to leave I'll go although I'm going towards her needs first

pinkapples · 21/02/2014 19:59

Which means leaving early something I'm not bothered about

MaryWestmacott · 21/02/2014 21:47

Pinkapples - I'm of the opinion that if people want DCs to be involved in an event, they make it child friendly, a 7pm start is not in any way shape or form a child friendly event, so while your PIL might like to have DGD there to show off a bit, it's not that important that she's involved.

So I'd say you settle your DD at home and then go to the party after she's down for the night with a babysitter, you leave early if need be and your DH get a lift home with someone else.

Mrs81 - can you put food on his highchair tray to play with? DD rather loves cream cheese on bread fingers and bits of cold cooked chicken, perhaps some ricecakes. Just let him play for a bit with food and see if he'll feed himself.

My DD is coming out the other side of the 374th cold of her short life. it would be really nice not to be covered in snot.

Mrs81 · 22/02/2014 02:05

Mary - have tried that too. He's usually quite good with finger foods but yesterday he tried and mostly failed. It was either spat/puked back or dropped on the floor. I'd guess he took in c half a baby rice cake and c 1/4 of a breadstick. At best.

But today will be a new day and all that...dh picked up blueberries and strawberries so hopefully we can all have yummy breakfast Smile

pinkbear82 · 22/02/2014 08:56

We have out first tooth poking through! Might have taken 8.5 months but it's there! That was yesterday.
Today we have a crawl, it's lopsided, not fast but it's there. Grin The cat is going to be in trouble!

Also mission cot is going good, 6am yesterday and 7.30 today. Still with feeds, but settling down again straight away which I'm happy with. Getting a few 3 hour gaps between them as well which feels quite odd.

SunnyL · 23/02/2014 10:41

Pink you sound very calm for having a crawler. I'll be panicking about all the babyproofing I haven't done.

Down at the PIL this weekend seeing the SILs new baby - its tiny! And so quiet. I'm sure Lil wasn't anything like that!

Bit hacked off cos we went to church this morning and Lil was crying in her pram a bit because she was tired. The man in front kept turning round to stare at me as if to say 'well??'. So I left thinking very unchristian thoughts about him. No one else had a problem especially not the minister - because he is mu FIL! Grrrr. First time I've really felt any anti child sentiment when we've been out.

Sunbeam18 · 23/02/2014 12:13

We have a crawler. Its the cat I feel sorry for!

Mrs81 · 23/02/2014 17:39

Humbug to rude men in church Sunny Angry

We don't have crawling yet. The cat is safe. For now.

DS has come off hunger strike and decided spoon feeding is for babies (ahem) and will only feed himself finger foods. Roast veg and fish cakes are a hit today. So, those who are blw, what are your packed luches of choice? We're still dairy, soya & egg free...

BeanCalledPickle · 23/02/2014 20:52

Hi, its Sarah, playing with a name change. Still not moved, or exchanged contracts. The top of the chain has disappeared, no communication, no nothing. Its taken us six months to get here, I'm back at work in six weeks. The stress is immense. I guess I don't need to move before work, but I really want to. DH will be on paternity leave for two months but everything is in my name and I just want to move while I'm off, not him!

BLW without dairy and egg. Tough. We have a lot of sweet potato roasted into fries. Pasta and gnocchi are also big faves. I tend to puree up veg and use it as pasta sauce. Melon, mango, pineapple sticks for pudding. Does that help?

MaryWestmacott · 23/02/2014 21:01

oh my, our little crawler has moved from pulling herself up to walking with her walker toy thing. DS wasn't doing that until more like 11months. Slightly concerned...

Bean/Sarah (like the name change, I'm not sure about mine - was Don'tmind- am debating a new one) - try not to stress about it, on the bright side, you get to go to work and he can deal with all the shit for the house move, and you will get lunch hours to call up utility companies and the like.

Mrs81 · 24/02/2014 09:23

Bean - thanks for the ideas. Gnocchi could be a winner Smile

I'm sorry the house move is turning into such a fiasco. Going back to work might be a good distraction? (Makes me grateful for the Scottish system when I hear horror stories such as yours...)

SunnyL · 24/02/2014 11:53

Mrs81 we're doing polenta chips for lunch. Yesterday was pasta bake which is a bit of a winner too. I try to make things in advance as when I'm working I get a bad case of cantbearseditis in the evenings.

Mrs81 · 25/02/2014 08:01

Polenta chips are on the list of things to try Smile Felafels were a (wiffy) hit last night!

MadameJ · 26/02/2014 10:13

Is the facebook group still running, if it is how do I join? X

pinkbear82 · 26/02/2014 14:12

So Dad had his heart surgery yesterday. Longest 7 hours ever waiting to hear he was ok. He had to have a mechanical mitro valve rather than it repaired as it was so badly damaged. He's in ICU still at the moment but hoping he'll be moved to a high dependency ward soon. He's had a few issues since coming out of surgery, but fingers crossed nothing that can't be sorted.

It's a juggling act of someone looking after dd when I visit at the min as she isn't allowed in. We've made him a get well soon card this morning which I'll take in when I go later on.

Hope everyone is good Smile

curlyclaz13 · 26/02/2014 14:17

Best wishes pinkbear hope your dad makes a full and speedy recovery.

RueDeWakening · 26/02/2014 16:21

MadameJ it's still running and I've sent you a pm.

AlohaMama · 26/02/2014 17:54

Best wishes to your dad pinkbear and good luck with all the chioldcare /visiting issues.

Can I join the fb GRP too? Been hanging around here long enough I may as well bite the bullet!

Not much to report here. Dd now sleeping pretty well as long as no one wakes her up by being noisy, as she is such a light sleeper. Oh well dh will have to deal with it tonight anyway as I'm out at orchestra.

Is anyone else who is bf finding that their lo isn't that interested anymore? She eats loads of solids but only bf 3 times a day and one of those is a bit hit or miss. I've not actively tried to reduce bf I was just finding she wouldn't be very interested in the pre lunch one so we dropped it, and now she's stopped waking at night that only leaves 3.

pinkbear82 · 26/02/2014 18:16

Thanks everyone, he was off the ventilator when I went in just now, and he managed a groggy love you. Hoping if he carries on ok he'll be out of ICU soon.

Aloha dd certainly feeding less during the day bf wise, and certainly if something better is going on she stops. However she still feeds lots at night Confused even now she's in her own room, thought she might wake less but nope. And won't settle without the boob. Kinda wish she'd swap day to night really.
