Hi all - the old thread was about to run out so I started a new one.

Little Miss was up to mischief last night. Thankfully it's DHs day off today so he took her into bed with him while I slept in the spare room. She is just so excitable when she wakes up at night. It can can 90 minutes to scrape her off the ceiling.

Respect to both of you Smile there should be a smiley with a saluting arm!
I have to bf for the morning nap to happen, and during night too usually. Ho hum; glad to hear it ends, Madame. Then we'll miss it though, eh?

Marking place.

I love BLWing too - DD and DH are pictured in the original BLW book (not the cookbook though), we attended the launch and everything :o

We have another tooth - for a total of 5. And he's still going, judging by the grumps and quantity of ibuprofen we're getting through. Sleep? I think I remember that...

In slightly more exciting news, we've just had our spare room decorated for the boys to share. It's great, and we'll be moving furniture in either tomorrow or Friday, depending on how quickly the gloss dries :o

Hope everyone is safe from the wind/rain/flooding/etc. Stay safe!

In all honesty I didn't miss it when dd stopped but I fed her for a long time so we were both ready to stop!

Making my place too things move so fast!

We're getting over an ear infection here with antibiotics and conjunctivitis with eye drops but Theiah seems her normal cheery self so alls good

Echo about the flooding stay safe as the weather is horrific! Are you all affected or managed to escape it?

Well we are pretty much stranded as the 2 roads out of my village have flooded!! Thankfully we are safe and dry so can't really grumble. Hope everyone else is safe x

Madame, DD is the same - she will happily drink water from a cup at mealtimes. I'm relieved to hear that it doesn't last forever!

Thanks sunbeam :) I bet I will miss it when it ends.

DD was groaning in her sleep last night and when we looked she was tugging both of her ears in turn :(

It has been extremely windy here with trees over the railway lines etc but no flooding thankfully.

I pulled Lil into bed with me last night when her temp went up to 38 again. She wanted to sleep totally cuddled in to me. It was like cuddling a squidgy hot water bottle. She feels cooler now though shes still asleep which is unusual.

Think I will have to take at least the morning off work.

Ah sunny hope your dd is feeling better soon, there is so many things going round at the moment!

Report

Still no teeth here Angry all the teething symptoms but none appearing. Although not looking forward to the nips when they do come through.

Sunny hope Dd is improving, horrible having them poorly and not being able to take it away from them.

We do have a lot of ear pulling here, will be interesting to see if that stops once teething is a little better. Although she does produce an incredible amount of wax. I don't really do anything until it's easy to wipe out. Wonder if that is something else causing it.

Being in Devon, we've been fairly battered. DPs work unit keeps flooding, has done since Christmas. Have to dodge lots of trees laying down and quite a few large deep puddles. The fence dividing ours and the neighbours garden has been blown down. It's their fence, so apart from popping a few bits there to make it harder, the dogs quite like a challenge, especially if it means more garden to explore!

Hope the poorly babies get better soon. Ds still showing signs of teething here too but no teeth come through yet.
We're thankfully not too affected by the weather, had heavy rain & wind but no flooding. Travelling to visit family near Edinburgh next week so fingers crossed weather ok for the roads up.

Sorry just realised that last message sounded really selfish, loads of people have flooded homes or roads cut off etc but I'm worried about a holiday, sorry it wasn't meant like that.

Don't be daft sweet. Don't think a single one of us will take it as selfish. I do believe, we have a few up in Scotland who may be able to keep you updated on how it is.

I have a new toy, my Gran's bread machine, and I have a banana loaf in cooking away, it smells amazing, hope the taste is as good. I'm wheat and dairy free (although have been being quite naughty lately) so to be able to do bits and bobs that are tasty and ok for me will be nice!

hedgehogy · 13/02/2014 11:43

Don't be silly, sweetpea, I agree that I'm pretty sure none of us will see it like that.

Sounds lovely, pinkbear, I wish I got a chance to do things; DD has been asleep on me for over an hour so far.

Hedge, I openly admit to plonking dd in her high chair while I threw the ingredients into the bread maker. She so far has refused sleep today. But I know days like it. I can't leave her sight for two seconds without her wailing. makes getting any washing done fun as it's in the garage

Mmmm, banana loaf! Yum.
I'm in Edinburgh, sweet, so happy to keep you updated from this end. No snow today but cold and bit windy! I drove through from Ayrshire this morning after staying with my folks for a few days. Was wild yesterday with some snow and rain, but we've had nothing like the terrible storms down south. Hope everyone is warm and safe in the South West.

Eeeesh had a bit of a fright last night.

I was feeling v chuffed with myself as Id made her tuna fish cakes . She's not been eating.much this week because she's been eating ill so i wanted to make her something nice. During dinner i noticed she had red blotches creeping across her face and hands. Then they started to go REALLY red and raised.

Flipping panicked and phoned my dad who is a gp. Of course the bugger was out but my mum said to chuck her in the bath butif it didnt go down or if her breathing went funny to call nhs24. So Lil got a stupidly long bath which she thought was ace. Thankfully the blotches went down really quickly and by the time she went to bed she was fine.

Shes really put me through the ringer this week!

Oh Sunny, what a fright you must have had. So glad she's okay though. Do you think it was the tuna? Or something else in them (egg?)?

I hope she gives you a remarkably dull weekend to make up for all the recent dramas Smile

DS was up every two hours last night. I know that's not so unusual for some of you but I'm shattered. And my poor boobs are very used! On the plus side, he started saying ma-ma-ma-ma; it's the cutest thing and makes my heart strings go twang (even though it's not directed specifically at me!).

Time for copious amounts of Brew (Sweetpea I don't know how you manage on decaf!)

I'm on my 2nd night of no sleep, both dd's javet coughs and colds and dd2 can't settle at all except upright on me :-(

Sunny sounds scary. Thankfully we haven't had any reactions yet.
Ds poorly too, temp last night of 38.9, and he just cried and cried last night.
He eventually slept in our bed from midnight.
Operation back to cot and own bedroom was meant to start this weekend. Typical that he's poorly as it might not go to plan. Got to tidy his room, his cot is full of Christmas presents I've still to find a home for! I think if we take the crib out of our room there will be less temptation to bring him in our room.

Sunny sounds terrifying. can you speak to your GP about allergy testing?

DD did not sleep last night. (Of course, because I'd had a couple of glasses of wine because it was Valentines and DH said he'd deal with the night wakings, except she wouldn't settle for him..)

SunnyL · 16/02/2014 09:50

Yeah we're going to go to the GPs for advice. It would be complete fecking pain if it was the egg. They're apparently meant to grow out of it but can you imagine how hard it will be to plan meals if we're not allowed egg?

Sunny - actually, eggs quite an easy one to avoid, its not in breads, plain biscuits and most main meals, it's cakes, and puddings and 'treat' foods that are going to be hard... lots of crumbles in your house!

Anyone else doing BLW or mixture of BLW and purees finding the sheer amount of food wasted depressing? DD threw so much broccoli and chicken around the place this lunchtime. It seems such a waste when we're trying to meal plan and spend less on food...

Report
SunnyL · 16/02/2014 15:56

Thanks Mary. We don't have too much wasted in this house as we have a jealous Labrador who will eat almost everything the child has apart from the odd bit of fruit. That's a good thing though as her arse is noxious enough as it is!

We are blw and there is a fair bit that goes overboard but a bib with a 'drip tray' helps, ds soon figured out how to scoop the dropped bits ! Some still goes over the side but I guess that is part of blw. Burger and chips here tonight, went down well. (All homemade and a really cute mini burger for osk)
