June 2013 Commando crawlers vs Baby slugs

Hi all - the old thread was about to run out so I started a new one.

Little Miss was up to mischief last night. Thankfully it's DHs day off today so he took her into bed with him while I slept in the spare room. She is just so excitable when she wakes up at night. It can can 90 minutes to scrape her off the ceiling.

Hi I'm new her waves I have a commando crawler here almost up on all fours, she was rolling about like a lunatic before though, wonder how she didn't end up dizzy! She's 37 weeks tomorrow

RueDeWakening · 18/02/2014 21:45

Hi joanna, welcome :)

We have 6 teeth :o finally the bugger is through! Hasn't decreased the rosiness of the cheeks though...tell me that doesn't mean the other 2 bottom ones are on the way?!

Sarah - hope the house stuff gets sorted soon, it's so stressful.

SweetPeaPods · 19/02/2014 06:01

6, wow! We don't have any yet!

SunnyL · 19/02/2014 07:58

Hi Joanna - welcome.

Yep we've got 6 teeth with a possible 7 & 8 judging by her bumpy gums. Little madam knows how to use them too. I gave up breast feeding completely last week after the little shark bit me one too many times.

Sorry about the house buying thing sarah. Seems like the south is a tricky place to buy these days.

What's happened about the house over the past few days, Sarah? Has it totally fallen through ?
4 teeth through here, 2 more bumps under the gums.

Mrs81 · 19/02/2014 16:03

Hello Joanna Smile

6 teeth? That fills me with horror. We have 2 and my boobs just about survive.

So DS is a smidge over 8 months and over the last 2-3 weeks has finally got weaning/solids. I find it tricky to guage portion size sometimes - anyone else? I keep coming across such varied opinion: feed until they stop/their stomach is only the size of their fist/etc and I think I'm danger of over thinking this Hmm

Hope everyone's having a good day.

curlyclaz13 · 19/02/2014 17:09

I struggle on portion size to Mrs81 I am probably winging it but I think ds would just keep going if it was there ! Tonight we are having fish and chips, so I have a small piece of haddock, probably about 5 chips and some broccoli and maybe peas for him. Lunch I offered 11/2 rice cakes with cream cheese and two slices of mango. He ate most of it but there was a fair amount on the floor too.
Two teeth here but bumpy top gums, I am back at work two weeks tomorrow so I bet that's when they appear.

pinkbear82 · 19/02/2014 17:46

Still no teeth here, lots of bumps tho.

Operation cot is going into action tonight. DP away so if she's extra noisy it won't disturb him, and we haven't got the dsds sleeping over for a week, so hopefully that gives us time to get a routine going.
I have visions of me sleeping in the chair in her room, but have to stay in tomorrow for buggy collection if I ever find a box big enough so it shouldn't be a demanding day!

MrsBri · 19/02/2014 18:57

Sarah, so sorry about the house palaver. Can't the person below the top move into rented so the chain doesn't collapse? I suppose it depends how confident they are of keeping their / finding another buyer as to whether they'd do that.

Amy has 2 teeth, but is clearly teething again, so we are expecting more soon. Probably when I go back to work on the same day as Curly!

Any more work news, Curly? Has your stupid boss realised her mistake?

I got my flexible work request result today, and I'm going on secondment instead of back to my firm as it's nearer to me.

I'll complete that, then finish for annual leave / mat leave straight after. :-)

Weaning isn't going great guns here. While she does eat, it's not much. We've taken to delaying her milk so she has food when she's hungry, but she still doesn't eat a lot. She's tasting loads of stuff though, so that's something.

It's bloody limiting this lactose intolerance. Though she had a little custard the other day and I'm not sure there were too many I'll effects, so maybe she's coming out of the other side. Fingers crossed.

We've had some good nights sleep recently as well. Which have been ruined by the teething. Sigh.

Pink, good luck tonight!

curlyclaz13 · 19/02/2014 20:05

My boss apparently 'miss-typed' the salary, I don't believe that for a minute but at least I will be earning what I was. We have no child care yet as two childminders have messed us about but seeing a nursery friday that hopefully will still have a vacancy and looks good so fingers crossed that works out.

Mrs81 · 20/02/2014 08:38

Pinkbear how did operation cot go?

Curly, that sounds like a swift about turn from your numpty boss. Are you still a-job searching anyway?

Glad you have work sorted out Mrsbri Smile

DS is currently in the habit of waking (and feeding) 3x per night. I'm tired! In the cold light of day I can see that he shouldn't need milk at 11.30, 1.30 & 4am but in the middle of the night it just seems the easiest option. Ho hum. I think we might be in a wonder week plus I read somewhere that there's a massive growth spurt around now so I'm sort of tempted just to ride it out. But I miss 4+hr blocks of sleep!

pinkbear82 · 20/02/2014 10:48

Operation cot got off to a good start! She settled in there nicely, it did take a bit longer, but that's ok. With weaklings she stayed in there until 3 when she got really upset. Being tired I caved and brought her in to her crib. Think I'll have to dismantle that to prevent that being an option.
But pleased with the first night, now to keep it up. :)

SweetPeaPods · 20/02/2014 13:55

Excellent pink. We're the same, think we need to dismantle crib so it's not an option.

pinkapples · 20/02/2014 19:14

Need some advice please ladies

My father in law is 60 next week and is having a party in the evening obviously hubby wants to stay till the end 12midnight however the problem I have is it starts at 7pm and Theiah's bedtime is 7.30pm I do want her to go to see him but what do we do?

  1. go and play it by ear hope that she stays happy for a bit then go home when crabby
  2. go and leave at 7.30pm (only 30mins at party for one of us)
  3. take her and then my parents take her home so we can both stay OR
  4. leave her at home with my sister

Any ideas? Also just to say I'm not bothered either way

pinkbear82 · 20/02/2014 19:49

Whatever works for you pink. At my best friends wedding, in the evening, we had little ear defenders for dd, took her buggy and she fell asleep about 10. We stayed a bit longer then took her to bed.

If it means you can both relax leave her with your sister. Hope you enjoy whatever you decide!

joanna0211marie · 20/02/2014 20:03

Well were having a terrible time at the moment, having to take lydia to the doctors again tomorrow as she keeps throwing up her last feed, she only has about 2oz anyway but all the food she ate 2hrs earlier comes up too! I've reduced her milk today on the off chance I was over feeding her to no avail, reduced food on previous nights as well and she still threw up, its messed up her routine completely, she's only slept through in her cot a couple of times, normally she wakes up around 12 and I take her to bed with me!

Sunbeam18 · 20/02/2014 20:13

Pinkapples, is the party at your in laws house or at a venue? If their house could you all stay overnight and then you could just put T down to bed there at her usual time?
I would put baby needs first and so try to get her to bed as close as possible to her usual time. The family chose to have an evening event so must have been aware that would be difficult for a baby. Think I'd leave her with your folks or sis if she'd have to stay up late and have her routine disrupted. Hope you enjoy!
Quick question for everyone: how many poos per day now on solids? We are getting very full pooey nappies about 5 times a day at the mo. Are we over feeding/giving too much fruit/could it be teething??

joanna0211marie · 20/02/2014 20:15

Sounds about right to me sunbeam, my did is having lots of poos (smelly ones) too

RueDeWakening · 20/02/2014 20:30

pink we took dd to a similar type of party when she was a baby. It was at a family member's house, so we arranged to have use of one of the bedrooms, took our monitor with us and got DD to sleep in the travel cot then once asleep went back downstairs and carried on. Would that be a possibility?

I'd point out that this would in no way have worked on DS1, he was a completely different temprament, DD was a complete angel so YMMV!

Sunbeam - re poos, it varies but the last couple of days it's been about 3 a day. We were down to once a day, but alas... Also, they stink!

Sunbeam18 · 20/02/2014 20:44

Jo, you have my sympathies re the throwing up. No idea about that, I'm afraid. I hear you re waking up at 12 and then co sleeping thoughGrin

curlyclaz13 · 20/02/2014 21:00

Re poo, ds usually goes once a day, they bloody stink ! Also he seems to strain (he has a poo face) and the poo is really quite firm (doesn't spread far, tmi). He is on three meals a day and occasionally a snack and still bf regularly so not sure if this is normal ?

Sunbeam18 · 20/02/2014 21:08

Curly, we did have that scenario but recently there have been at least 3 vest and trouser changes each day due to explosive poos...

Hawkmoth · 20/02/2014 21:10

Hello June people. Just seen the thread on active and want to join back in!

Bobbie has two teeth, crap sleep, the beginning of separation anxiety and a large appetite for tiny pasta.

RueDeWakening · 20/02/2014 21:12

Seems pretty normal to me, curly - M basically goes purple when he's doing a poo :o it's pretty obvious what he's up to, you can tell by the associated groaning!

This motherhood lark is all glamour, isn't it? :o

curlyclaz13 · 20/02/2014 21:18

Yup and their timing is epic, either filling a nappy just after you change them or about half an hour before bath time so you either 'waste' a nappy before bath time or bring bath time forward or leave them and hope that they don't leak
